Mattoon's Lists - Top 5 Hardest Cuphead Bosses

oh come on the ending was right there hmm oh hello everyone welcome to the Mattoon corner if you haven't been able to tell yet by the title of this video I'm playing cuphead obviously what you want me to say more guys it's cuphead the game is hard everyone on the Internet has already made that extremely clear you can look up cuphead without finding some cuphead is a dark souls of shoot-'em-ups or 2d platformers or whatever everyone knows this game will bite you in the butt more times than you can count heck the game counts out for you simply put the game is hard enough story all right all right I can't leave you off just that look the cup head is hard horse has already been beaten to the ground by this point as has the in-depth look in its animation style so I figured instead why don't I list off the tales of my misadventures in the inkwell Isles it's time format tubes top 5 hardest cuphead bosses now please keep in mind that these are all my heart's bosses cup it's so unique that people seem to have completely different opinions about the overall difficulty of the bosses some people find some easy and others hard and vice versa so this is just my hat in the ring so if you guys had an easier time with these guys and I did well good for you can't say I don't envy you number 5 captain briny beard well yo-ho-ho and shiver me timbers this fight can go sink in the Bermuda Triangle for all I care captain briny beards fight can be summed up into one word annoying hi despises fight for many reasons the fight itself is simple in concept but an actual execution it's a mess out of all the fights this was the one that often felt like there was just too much going on at once there's a falling treasure chest the captain's animal friends and the weird little pellets that he keeps shooting at him now again it's pretty simple to dodge in theory but when those three are used together it becomes torture especially these things I have no idea what these things are but screw these things and don't get me started on a ship spitting cannonballs they come out way too fast and they move even faster how is anyone expected to be able to dodge these things the last phase of the fight is definitely less cluttered but god it's hard these shots it spits out moving one of the most confusing arcs I've ever seen not to mention this cheap shot this is a guaranteed hit if you've never been this far in the stage there's no way to predict it without seeing it at least once and god I hate moves like that this fight isn't any higher on the list because after many many trials and errors I managed to get a vague semblance of how to dodge everything somewhat at least and so it wasn't as much of a problem as the other but still this fight made me want to break my screen several times number four Wally marbles I might get flack for saying this but I honestly think Wally is the hardest shoot of my boss in the game but more on that later Wally is a pretty straightforward fight dodge the eggs dodge the Federer Brainiac and attacked a plucked bird because why not but when you really get down to it dodging Wally is a lot harder than looks the eggs in the first stage move simply enough but the hitbox is so ridiculously large it's probably gonna hit you more than once then the fetter is moving such an unpredictable pattern that's gonna take a lot of luck and skill to get past them jr. over here has a pretty strange movement pattern but your biggest problem here is a cheap shot see always frozen hue and then there's the last face okay I'll be blunt this last face and go flying to the Sun for all I can I'll give you all some advice bombs are your friends hitting Wally with normal bullets in his face is pretty hard not impossible but so impractical it hurts literally how did the fact he won't stop moving side to side and you've got one of the hardest to dodge phases in the game the medical Bert's pills are also very annoying especially when you combine it with the trash can move if anything this levels saving grace is probably the fact that once you get the first few phases down you'll get to the last one with at least an extra hit point which does make this fight a little easier I don't know about you but I won't be flying in disguise anytime soon number three grim matchstick now I'll be honest when I say there are lots of things I like about grim his actual boss fight on the other hand is not one of them to be fair the first phase of the spice is actually pretty easy he only has three attacks and they're all telegraphed pretty well it's nothing too difficult you know at least until faced oh not only are you going to have to rely on luck for the platform's but now you have to constantly keep moving forward while shooting backwards in order to hit them not only that these got four second fire soldiers are impossible to read I have tried I really have but I cannot find any kind of pattern to these things sometimes they'll jump what I throw another sometimes you'll have huge arcs others will jump in smaller arts and dye these things make no sense phase three is easier but you're bound to be low on help because the second one and even dead it's still a lot of shooting backwards and praying thar and Jesus for the best platform to jump on seriously I had died on his face just because I missed the platform what the heck it's one big draconic mess number two rumour honey bottoms I can't believe I keep getting beat by this big busy bee how would I describe rumors fight basically Grimm's on steroids again the first phase is pretty simple and again more RNG platforming this time however it Scrolls vertically making dodging a good amount of attacks in this level of pain not only that rumors attacks are some of the most confusing yet her spells always spawn on top of Cup heads current position meaning you're gonna have to move before it can hit you and these things move so weird you technically can't carry these attacks but a scrolling screen makes it such a pain also the bullet bees are annoying I jump off a platform to dodge but because they scroll down I end up getting hit the final phase is also pretty hard well with the confusing missile direction and the fact that you're gonna have to stay low if you want to hit her at least with the weapon I used that it takes a while to get used to our saw blade attacks you get used to it after a while but other than that yeah this fight is making me want to believe that bees have some kind of vendetta against thee I me me me not be god I can't believe oh boo you Rover before we go to number one I'd like to give a few quick honorable mentions cagney carnation the first fight that actually made me form a proper strategy it's where I first bought the homing shot down so the level definitely stands out bebida cloud this was the first fight that made me shut the game off in frustration Pepe is just annoying fight all around particularly is furred and last phases but his pads were pretty simple once you get a hang of it dr. Kyle's robot well definitely challenging I feel like a lot of people over hyped this fight the hardest part about this fight is a giant robot in the beginning and that's about it his gem attack in the end is surprisingly easy to God to be honest The Phantom Express honestly I feel like people over Ike this fight yeah it's cool and challenging but the hardest thing is keeping track of your cart in the beginning aside from that the enemies patterns are all very simple the devil okay so from a technical standpoint that that was probably the hardest fight in the game taking everything you've learned and having you showing off but by this point I was already familiar enough with the controls that this fight well it wasn't easy but instead was a fun challenge on my level well with all that being said it's on to number one [Music] I hate this fight I love the character but I despise this fight with every fiber of my being King dices fight is one big boss rush you roll the dice fight a mini boss beat it rinse and repeat till you get to the end and fight the king himself now what makes this so challenging is that every playthrough might get you a different set of fights some of which are a lot harder than others and while the patterns are extremely simple they all require very fast reaction time and go to understanding of the game's controls now a skilled cuphead player can roll the dice and get the perfect numbers to make it to the end with the least amount of fights possible which to be fair is a valid argument that being said the slightest mistake might make them start back from square one or have to fight a rather difficult boss parrying at the right time is gonna be pretty dang hard and again these fights difficulties make no sense the cigar is one of the easiest to dodge while others require such quick reaction time it's almost nonsensical and then there's the actual fight against King dice himself this is where all your pairing abilities are gonna be put to the test you mess up a parry and you're dead considering cuphead has such few invincibility frames you're bound to take more than a couple hits not only that pairing so much can actually make you forget to shoot at him I spent a good time just trying to survive that I realize I hadn't fired a shot yet with all the different ways this play can play out and since you're about to make even the slightest mistake in it this is without a doubt my hardest boss fight in Cap'n cuphead is a very hard game there just no denying that but by no means does that mean it's not fun I love playing this game and every single fight on this list they were just rather difficult to say the least this game truly is one of its kind and stands out to me as one of the best indie titles out there but hey that's just my opinion and that's all time for today thanks for watching everyone be sure to like the video and subscribe if you want to see more and as always remember to be cool and be creative [Music] you
