easily the the most serious problem that I think I come across when it comes to Christians and marriage it appears that there's a fundamental misunderstanding of what marriage is and and so we we tend to the couples that that I've walked with and worked with there there tends to be a type of kind of Roman Cupid ian's approach to to marriage that that has it all in the world of feelings and and so the the Bible is going to yes bless those feelings but but also rude it in something more substantial than that and so there's a misunderstanding of covenant there is a misunderstanding of partnership and gospel partnership and then there's misunderstanding in regards to the sanctification that God accomplishes in the marital relationship in fact if I look at my own life I mean I can just point to Lauren as being one of the primary tools that God has used to make me more and more and more the man that God would have me be and and if Lauren were here right now I've heard her say the exact same thing that God has used me to sanctify her to reveal things in her that she couldn't see in herself and so I think that fundamental misunderstanding is the most serious among evangelicals among Christians just a failure to understand what marriage actually is
