Mansfield Style Hydrant Repair Video - Leaking from Vacuum Breaker

[Music] if your 300 400 or 500 series hydrant is leaking from the vacuum breaker you will need to inspect the mechanism for debris or damage to complete this repair you do not need to turn off your interior water source just be sure that the hydrant is turned [Music] off Begin by removing the vacuum breaker cap from the hydrant using a flathead screwdriver push from the bottom and gently pop off the cap [Music] unthread the plastic Bonnet underneath the cap and then remove the rubber washer and plastic pop [Music] it clean off any debris that you may find on the vacuum breaker parts and then turn on your hydrant to flush out any debris that may have accumulated inside the vacuum breaker inspect the hydrant to make sure no debris needs to be removed by hand and then replace the pieces of the vacuum breaker place the rubber washer down firmly onto the poppet and then insert the poppet into the hydrant with the teeth pointed down finally thread the plastic Bonnet down securing it tightly into [Music] [Music] place turn on your water to test for leaks if the leaking has stopped the issue has been resolved and you can pop the plastic cap back into place if your hydrant is still leaking from the vacuum breaker you will need to replace your old Parts with new ones from the wall hydrant vacuum breaker replacement kit part number 630- 7500 to do this remove the warm Parts as described previously pop off the plastic cap unthread the Bonnet and remove the washer and pop it reassemble the vacuum breaker with the new parts starting with the washer and poppet place the rubber washer firmly on top of the poppet and insert the pieces into the hydrant with plastic feet pointing down replace the Bonnet and thread it tightly into [Music] place turn on your water to test that the pieces are assembled properly if the leaking continues repeat the assembly process making sure that all pieces are positioned correctly finally replace the plastic cap to complete the repair visit www. pri.com back slash where to buy for a list of Prior products distributors
