okay I said it is gonna do the two mounting holes next to bill I'd change my mind what I'm gonna do now is I'm going to start machining this profile on the bottom here the of the base ring so first thing I'm going to do is put these two holes in here used to cut these two 168 radius cuts and I'm gonna do that I'm just gonna bore more two holes in there 336 thousands in diameter it's pretty much just an aesthetic thing so I want to bore it so it looks nice so let's go ahead and do that so set up on part and y-axis here this whole profiles we have so part is symmetric so they just set her up on locate everything off the scent we'll pick up this surface here all right so these holes are 816 thousandths where we have here oh all right I'm gonna pick up this surface instead the dimensions dimensions from this from the party line between the two parts let's do that so you can do it we do it from the base with them having more math to do please register oh yeah all right these holes are 816 thousands down prepare three quarters of an inch apart so it creates a mess each direction what are you right there will they say 336,000 some diameter so let's pop off a drilled hole through there first rough it out here's a 5/16 that ought to do nicely clean out most of the material alright one create other way now I don't care about finish on this because it's just a rough card I'm going to bore these holes to diameters of the 368 it's much material out as it can we meets the other way all right this is boring run the bar out till it scratches the side of the drilled hole and a few thousands to it take a trial cut all right let's see we read on that when you grab a small hole gate again these are not to be meant to be used with calipers and it's going to break out the mics when using transfer tools like small hole gauges and telescoping gauges okay we are at 3 336 look at that got lucky take a little big little bit heavier trial cut on it well let's decide normally wouldn't try and get that close but we got lucky it's just a aesthetic cut anyway it's a derp if it's if it's within close to minus 10 or 15,000 that's fine we're good so let's take another one just good clean living that's all all right this thing we're going to do is the two radii in the bottom here one of the radio is the big one the 683 fits the radius on top of the receiver of the rifle the other when the smaller one a 375 radius is just a third Oh put those two in next we're gonna use this tool since we already set nobody know it's tool set of 336 we can crank it out and get a three seventy five and a six eighty three radius to those over to teachers alright so we're at you know 336 diameter or 168 radius now and I want to go out to 375 for this relief cut so the difference is 375 - 168 207 so have to crank out my boring bar 207 thousands it's fifty hundred one hundred and fifty two hundred and 7,000 okay no this is for the the 375 radius on the bottom here okay so we got to move a little bit farther down right now we're 816 down from this surface we got to move down 1.3 36 8 16 to 1.3 36 I'm going to make it 346 so now we'll take a roughing cut and we'll go back and take the last 10 on this finished well okay I guess I miss measured these holes what are those holes anyway we make mistake it's always good to make it on my lean side they look great they are right in the city or what's wrong okay so I figured out what he did everything's good I just needed to go instead of going 207 I'm like boring out I needed to go double that because the boring ham because this dial measures diameter not radius so I gotta go another 207 so there's 50 100 150 200 seven thousands there is our 3/8 radius let's take a little bit material and I'll leave it another 10 on the x-axis through the 1.3 36 that gentleman will pull the feet down the finish cut it's okay you know they've cut down all right and part away before I raise the tool up so it doesn't leave a trace and track and then do the other one with a rough cut there's a finish point okay now we going to jump from a 3/8 radius out to a point six eight three radius rather to do all that counting I'll just do it show you another way to set a boring bar let's Center Center the spindle over this this surface which is one point zero six down from the parting line set one point zero six on the x-axis right there zero that out now if we move over a radius 0.68 three right there and I all we have to do is advance the boring bar till it touches this surface we have to do any counting less chances for error let's just do that it's gonna be a ways I hope it reaches might have to go to a larger boring bar yeah looks like he's gonna make it we have a piece of paper here and just use that as the feeler love there here's a little scratch so there's our our 683 radius let's lock it down in the center of that Center that radius is 1 point 674 from the parting surface set at 1 684 we're roughing cut we're not taking much metal off here I'll hardly taking anything on but actually this just take off in one cut it's not going to remove much at all so one point six 874 there we go I'm going to slow this down a bit so much larger right well so you know what that may actually hit my stop just check that out first or go blundering on through yes it will hit the stop hmm Waller looks like I might be able to move it far enough to miss ain't moving the stock now let's set up but it's better than pouring a home hey they'll clear there all right this is going is just creating little pads that the smoke mounts will rest on I'm popular receive it on the rifle only about 1/16 inch wide surface
