Making Minecraft slimes extremely bouncy

so there's one thing that bothers me in value minecraft while slime blocks allow you to fall and take no damage and bounce back up slimes on the other hand don't handle it as well so as anything that bothers me well i just i i just fixed it now hold on i see you coming and telling me but right you just copied the slime block code into the slime entity code not exactly because i didn't limit myself to just vertical bounciness just like you shouldn't limit yourself to just watching the video why not subscribe and like it as well if you enjoy the content anyway so a new feature i do with this mod is that you can now right click small slimes with an empty hand and they'll just drop on the ground giving you some throwable slime this is a new item i made just to test all the mess that i just coded and with this throwable slime you can well throw little slimes around in your world and as you can see they just bounce around now i was saying that they bounce off any surface so if we see this wall of dirt we we could we could try throwing one at there we go as you can see it just bounces off like that now obviously in these planes the conditions are not ideal to test that so let me just do something real quick so now we have a little experimentation box that we can use here and as you can see if i throw a slime down with enough force it will just bounce off the ground and bounce off the wall as well so yeah it bounces off any surface including the ceiling so if i just throw one to the ceiling it will go down at a much higher force unlike if it was just blocked by the ceiling so as you can see this throwable slime currently doesn't allow us to throw them very far but again i can change that so now i approximately made it two times stronger than it was before so if we throw one you'll see it'll go much further throw it off the surface and yeah it's going to bounce much better so you can try that again in the box and as you can see that bounces much better and maybe we can get uh multiple wall bounces but still i don't think it's quite enough so we'll we'll just increase it just a little bit more so um i made it two times stronger again and [Music] now it goes oh my god it goes it goes so far and so high uh you can throw it off the ceiling as well there oh no i think it oh okay there we go so yeah it tends to get a bit clunky if you put a high value but as you can see this guy is just stuck here until up there he goes out so now again let's try in the box again and uh wow look at that they're just flying around all the time if you aim it directly at the oh my god that is you generally won't see them again they just go so far and so fast that they they end up despawning let's train the house right okay another thing i wanted to showcase is how they bounce off the water and so as you can see if you aim directly at the waterville they tend to bounce off the water yeah that's normal physics don't worry about it oh my god it works nice save nice save now if you really want to go crazy with the throwable slime i approximately made it 20 times stronger than it's supposed to be and in this box it's uh it's just gonna be oh my god it's like oh my god it's making perfect bounces it's like that dvd screen oh my god no it changed why are the particles there when he's bouncing this way it doesn't make any sense let's try more oh my god i don't think it's ever gonna stop i i don't think it's ever gonna stop oh never mind this guy this little game managed to stop um well yeah [Applause] yes all right let's try a little bit less oh it's still too much oh my god so yeah that is the throw force but it's not the only parameter you can change around there is also another which is the bounciness of the slime by default i set it to 1 which means that whenever a slime hits a surface it will get that same speed back in the other direction if i set it to 0 5 it will get half the speed back in the other direction and if i set it to it will get two times that speed back in the other direction and another example of this could be a tenth of the bounciness and as you can see it just it just doesn't have that much force when going back now that's not exactly the interesting part the interesting part is making that bounciness more than one because basically the way this works every time a slime hits a surface it will go faster and faster and faster so currently i'm going to try it with 1.5 um okay i appear to have killed the server um okay well maybe 1.5 was a bit too much okay so we're gonna try again uh this time i made it a little lower but if we put it 1.2 as you can see it will start gaining momentum um faster and faster and until a point where uh your game just says it and it just it just it just tries to calculate the speed at which it's gonna go and it struggles so bad and if you try to kill it it's still gonna bounce off as you can see it's still trying to determine what speed it should have when bouncing off uh so it's gonna be there and end up there it's always gonna end up bouncing like this so um yeah don't don't increase the bounciness to more than one that's uh not recommended the only way to save it is by just exiting your world and loading it back that's the only way to tell the game please stop it and just kill it okay it's good i wanted to try something i wanted to try having a slime ball competition i wanna i want you to try because okay hold on hold on hold on uh go into oh my god stop it stop you're gonna break my world stop so if you're going survival if you're going survival or even in creative uh you can pick them up actually the the throwable slumps oh yeah okay yeah all right so um let's start to clean up that would take some time this is much better okay there we go can you catch it it's difficult yeah kind of oh it would be nicer if you could like uh how do you say like no you dumbass we could play tennis with this you know wait it just went up in the air what are you trying to do oh my god oh my god i'm starting an auto clicker oh my god white red red yeah [Music] okay let me let me just close myself in here oh no it still goes oh my god it goes through the glass oh oh can you hear us yeah oh i feel like i'm in the nuclear reactor oh god that is cool and it's at this point that it struck me what if we made the players bouncy there you go okay so so so i want you to hit me oh that's amazing that's so cool not even okay it's not even that intense but no for me for me it really is cool what the okay yeah it's the ten more intense what the okay it's one
