Remaking iconic Minecraft mini-games with terrible ideas

ever since the early days of minecraft mini games have always been an integral part of the game that's why today i decided to remake a few of the most iconic and classic minigames minecraft has ever known but for each one i'll add my own twist that either turns it terrible or terribly fun i also figured it'd be a good idea to read the server and play said minigames with way too many people so stick around for that but before we do that let me be transparent with you guys this video is sponsored by diamondfire diamond5 is a minecraft server that allows you to code your minigames and more generally interesting in the fact that it allows you to create said mini-games through an easy-to-understand coding system made of blocks and items and it's actually pretty extensive and allows you to make some really advanced stuff people have made some 3d brawler with unique characters and abilities fps games dungeon crawlers splatoon games with unique soundtracks and bad apple yes but bad apple because of course someone had to remake bad apple on the server but my favorite out of the bunch has got to be brick stack it's just that good all right now you can lower your expectations it's my turn to make some mini games all right so we're going to create our first new game we're going to claim a new plot make a basic plot as you can see we created a new plot separate in two areas this uh play area where we can build and this code area where as you can see some other parts already have some code now because i find the system generally interesting i'm going to quickly go over how you can make some simple code so let's say for instance we want to play a sound whenever player joins we're going to use this diamond block which corresponds to player event we're going to click on the sign select in plot and server events and play a join game event now we want to play a sound so we're going to use the player action right click the sign again go into communication and play sound now we get a chest and we can play stuff inside it it's a chest unbelievable and if you hover over the book it will tell you that you need to place a sound or more and an optional location so to do that we're going to use our values items and as you can see from here we can get some text some numbers some locations of vectors and different stuff but we're gonna go for a sound now we're gonna use the sound item right click it and you have a menu that opens with a bunch of sounds that you can select but say we wanna search for a sound let's say we wanna playing we're gonna search for playing and we have a playing here and that is exactly what we want so we're going to take that now all that is left for us to do is to put the sound inside the chest and whenever we join we have a playing sound additionally we can also set whoever hears this sound so for instance if we shift right click we have current selection default player and many other options but what interests us is all players that way everybody knows when somebody joins now let's say on top of that we want to add a loop that plays forever when you are in the game we're going to add this repeat block which we're going to select repeat forever so again we're going to look for a sound player action communication play sound we're going to select another sound let's go for a snare something like that let's go into block sounds no block sounds uh let's go for add actually but we got a hat we're going to put it inside so now whenever we join the game we can hear our ticking sound it's uh it's already getting amazing now let's say you want some variety because the ticking song playing every tick is not nearly as annoying as i thought it would be well in order to do that we're going to have to select random sound to play every tick so to do that we're going to use the set variable iron block which we're going to place just before the play sound we're going to set the variable in variable settings to random value and inside this chest we're going to put a variable and any random value that we want now we're going to need to name the variable so we're going to name it random sound and we're going to put it inside this chest and now we need a curated selection of sounds that we're gonna do right now so first let's see i think like a totem sound there we go total music then we're gonna go for the gas defection sound which is yeah that's gas scream you know it's great envelopes uh withers why not withers yeah sure why not withers with a spawn with a spawn oh yeah that sounds like a vine boom as well well the thunder sounds thunder sounds are great oh let's go for a wandering trade of death let's go for a bit of uh anxiety induced tnt yeah that's great why not go for wallow there we go look at willow now we're gonna put all these sounds inside the chest but we still need to use our random sound variable which we're gonna place in play sound instead of a hat so now whenever we do slash play it's perfect and you know what this is gonna be my take on the hunger games last return is volume download leave the plot just wins okay uh we're going to name this plot here drum barrier there we go perfect all right moving on the second mini game i wanted to make i want to make one of the oldest and most iconic minecraft mini games and then i realized it was a french mini game so i'm sorry for that this mini game is called the knitting game the way this minigame works is that you are set on this platform here and you need to jump down into the pool and land on a block and after that you place a wall block normally it's played with two or more players but basically the last one to break their own calls wins now i'm very nostalgic of this one because i remember playing it back in the day and i was terrible at it because i had terrible internet which made me rubber bend a lot which is exactly what we're doing with this one so let me set up the basics of the plot with this pull area that the players will fall into and place the wool blocks with this little gold block that you can use to reset the pool area and whenever you walk into a diamond block you get teleported up here with a red wall and then you can drop down and place your block there we go it's that simple it's that easy now all that's left to do is just actually had the rubber banding so i think i'm finally done with the code and it's pretty simple so i'm going to quickly go over it so basically when a player joins you have this loop that repeats forever that checks if the player is not on the ground if it's not on the ground we'll run and test between 0 and 20 and if it's 0 it will then play a sound it will generate a random vector that will have a velocity that is either negative or positive so you will either go down or up and then we apply that velocity to the player and it's that simple let's try this again oh my okay oh oh what no oh okay oh hello oh wait uh that's i i'm i'm not supposed to go this way so now that our game is actually working is there someone else to play with us why don't you go first just a normal hitting game go ahead there we go you got it okay just place your wall and then [Music] look no problem oh well i some problems all right my turn [Laughter] [Music] well i got killed by the rubber bending because as soon as i got close i got teleported oh well hello i didn't even need anything to get on the platform just just pure skill all right let me add a bit of difficulty to the code try it again [Music] where am i going [Music] all right stop all right [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] it was like trying to uh what's the word again oh my god all right now that this mini game is perfect moving on for the third game i wanted to remake spleef another very ancient game ultimate game of skill parkour and accuracy so how about remove the accuracy pawn but for this one i really wanted to make it an actual mini game that you guys could play so i needed help from the best so i got eight oh no oh no we first started by working on our core mechanic of breaking a random block around the one you're aiming at oh it does work [Music] oh it's wonderful the floor is set to snow and i have a very accurate shovel and this is already looking really good and playable but that's what we're looking for oh no it's going to be horrible this is going to be stupid then we just added a q system with a countdown a nice arena with multiple layers and a win condition oh that's fine that's nice that's nice i like it we also decided to add inaccurate snowballs and snowball clumps to take down people from upper levels and the game was mostly done obviously it's more complex than that because there was a lot of code made but after that we could just play it no yes why are we so good at this game yes okay and then we did the next logical thing we decided to rate the server invite our viewers to play the game with us uh i think there's more than 30 people no there's definitely not more than 30 people there's 55 people there's not 55 people how can you know there are 55 people because it's number one on the trending list with 55 people oh my god uh there you go oh no there's nothing wrong with this belief guys guys we're starting to lose people the server sponsored me so i decided to rate it and ddos it i'm still on the top floor laughing the only one game being successful and the raid even more successful we decided to move on to the fourth game and originally i wanted to remake bad wolves but remember we need to remake it terrible so i figured there was nothing else to do so instead i opted to remake my favorite minecraft hypixel mini game ever bridge duels rich doors are simple you get two team bases separated by a one block wide bridge and each team's goal is to get into the enemies portal now in order to cross this bridge you'll be given weapons food but more importantly blocks now the problem is you only ever get one type of block to bridge with and that's boring so i made a curated selection just to make the game a whole lot more spicier we got normal blocks such as stone and dirt and composters but i also included some more exotic blocks to bridge with such as sand oak fences stone cutters purified oak slabs you know the one that you have to mine with a pickaxe skeleton skulls no blocks magma blocks blue eyes barriers cobwebs honey blocks slime blocks tnt and of course to go with it redstone box oh and we love this brief so much that we decided to add a an inaccurate snow block now i'm not going to go over the creation of this minigame because it's been over a few days with a lot of cool things such as queuing team making and custom death messages so not necessarily things are very interesting to look at however i can show you the results all right good luck this is garbage this is garbage this is actually garbage no no yes yes how are you still alive i don't know oh this is this is painful [Music] hypixel bridge walls are intense but this is seriously intense there's so many blocks painful to build with but no bridging with the stone cutter opens the ui no are you traitorous you try to risk you put some barriers there so you can already see it's a mess with only two players what about 60 guys remember do slash food i'm already starting no no dude you didn't even believe it it was a joke you didn't even play for the thing yet no we got so chaotic let's go this is gonna be your nightmare oh we're on the same teammate let's go yeah all right here we go oh my god the nightmare begins yes eight go go go go yes yes let's go the bridge is already looking like a nightmare let's push on and it's only gonna get worse oh they found out how to set off the cnc let's go play testing play testing it's all part of our plan how do you enjoy bridgewater so far people it's very nice you know nothing to worry about it's just normal bridge walls i love that bridge there oh my god all right let's go let's try it again let's try it again oh my god did you cramming when we get to like what are you can't tell what's going on it's just cobwebs everywhere why are you guys spreading cobwebs stop some people are bridging with skulls this is a nightmare to bridge almost like that's the point of the game there seems to be an issue there are some red players in the portal but nothing is
