by the Centaur dude Chiron the main feature of the sword is that it can collapse down into a pen does this magically but that's the part we're gonna try and recreate oh yeah it also magically appears back in his pocket if he ever loses it so that he always has protection from the magical demons try and do him wrong speaking of those magical demons trying to do people wrong hackers they're imagine it's pretty hard to fit all the materials for a full bronze sword inside a tiny little pen so I scoured the internet using surf shark VPN and I think a good place to start is with this ten dollar fishing pole pen right here and if you open it up and blow in the end it extends bet you didn't see that coming right Brad [Music] all right so here's what I came up with [Music] essentially we've got two of the fishing rods just took out the telescopic part then we needed to figure out a way to put air in it so I was originally gonna use some tubing but then I switched to this 3d printed piece that fits right over this co2 canister right here so that as you saw it just kind of fits right in the middle nice and snug just like that still have access to the trigger right here no one would hold this we can hit the trigger I'll come the fishing poles you can see there's a little bit of wire right across the tips right here you kind of complete this sword shape I'm going to get stuck trying to put it back in though come on you know how in the story whenever he loses his sword it'll automatically appear right back in this pocket so these things come with a mini reel so I don't look like a cop-out way to do this but tie the fishing pole to the reel and if we ever I don't know lose the sword tada magic okay so as good as this is I think we can do a little bit better it's not sharp and it's not a pen nonetheless though pretty good place to start so I scoured the Internet a bit more and I found this device right here I think it's called a magic expandable staff or something you can get them online for like 10 bucks maybe the best way to describe this is one of those like global like party hunting maybe that's not the best way to describe it basically it's a wool tube of metal and it extends oh my god Jesus oh just like that and to this giant very sword like pool cue not a pool cue I think it's actually I could do Jitsu staff you take a little look skeet essentially rolled in such a way that it like Springs out so I think for this iteration or trying maybe like 3d print housing make this look just like a pen so when we take the cap off the sword comes out we can start swinging all right let's make this [Music] [Music] so basically consists of three different parts we've got the inner housing part where the actual metal sword piece goes and that works like this it was a little tricky to roll this up you need like a wall or something that push it against because it's rappelled in a certain way that it is you kind of need to untwist it a little bit to get some air get some wiggle room once you do that you can just really then it'll wind up the way this thing works it has a little latching system in the bottom right here so this little spring thing folds up push it out and it locks into place like that however this way is actually super hard to initiate because you have to like squeeze it pull it out too much hassle so make this easier we actually have this thing dangled down slip right through that bottom crack right there slide that down in there and then we can push this until that that metal piece comes through and then we just give it a twist so I can't slide back out because it's wider than it is long and now it's locked into place so now when we turn this we can have it spring out but if we just did that right now the whole thing would fly out because there's nothing connecting it to the actual thing so that's where the second piece comes in handy slips over this first piece but it has a slightly narrower lip to it this does the trap so the thicker end piece inside so we're able to hold on to it like a handle finally the cap on top now we have it a pen sword very very thick pen sword but pen sword in the last full up count twist it and then Oh sword out of the pen here you go trying you can figure out half what do you think of it does it would you think it's uh I honestly don't tell me if I already know it's thick you don't have to let's take one of this fan mark like markers yeah there you go and so all I'm gonna do I'm gonna on cabinet okay I'm cap it seems day no no no no I'm capping you have to figure out how to do it [Music] [Music] alright I'll round right not too bad only father is round and can't really constant gonna do one more iteration to see if we can make something to actually do a little bit of damage so yet again I scoured the internet and found this your highness yes this is a full metal expandable sword oh the Internet's a great place did you guys know this exists this one's a little bit more expensive though you can get cheap ones online for like again like 10 bucks they'll be they'll be plastic though so we uh we sprung for the full metal version well this is small it's not pen small so maybe we can try and grind this thing off maybe do something to the bomb chop down a little bit try and just make it at least a little bit more like a peg [Music] [Music] [Music] alright guys the third sword the final one here's what it looks like so same as the others we've got the 3d printed housing wrote ripped Idol and it drew some stuff on it I don't know if it makes it look cool or nerdy but I don't know I kind of dig it this one's a more like slender design I still added the laughs though so we can just hook it on to whatever clothing you want still easily fit in your pocket and we made it resemble a pen so you know not out of the question entirely this cap piece comes off and then we can sword and this is like a fully like metal pretty sturdy sword as well so we am messing around with this one to shorten this from the original sword a bit because the original sword was like way out here that's just not gonna fool anyone at least this could fit your pocket
