in this video we are making an amazing animated infographic with the super powerful shapes INF Fusion if you've been curious about making Motion Graphics in resolve this is such a cool video for you so we recently shot a video about making coffee trying to just make a really pretty coffee video cuz we all love coffee here and you can actually download all of the media to recreate this edit with the link in the description or you can click right up there we had a lot of fun shooting this shot it with some anamorphic lenses and I think it turned out pretty nice we're going to do a full workshop on how to edit and totally create this video very soon but you can get the footage and play around with it right now today we're going to work on the infographic at the end to go over this little bit if black coffee isn't your thing you can always add a little cream to lighten the flavor if you'd like to go this route follow the same steps and remember to leave a little room for about 2 to 4 tablespoons of a creamer of your choice pour and enjoy thanks for watching so what we want to do is just have kind of an infographic here that shows how much coffee versus how much cream in a cup you know just a nice visual representation that's going to go over this shot and the idea here is to have this match the voiceover if black coffee isn't your thing you can always add a little cream to lighten the flavor and what's crazy is this voice over was actually generated with AI from art list who were nice enough to sponsor this video the dog walked itself home ate a pizza and took an app but it's pretty crazy cuz it doesn't really sound like AI to me I mean there's always kind of that uncanny valley with the uh the AI stuff and this is the best AI voiceover I've heard but we'll talk more about that in a little bit let's get into fusion and start making some graphics to bring this shot into Fusion all I have to do is be over it here in the timeline and I'll switch to the fusion page down here and it will open up the shot infusion oh baby and if I want to match this up to the voiceover I can go up to my key frames panel and open that up and here if I select our media in and roll this down we have our audio and this is from the timeline and we play this back coffee isn't your thing thanks for watching there we go and now we have that audio coming in here and so now we can easily kind of time things to this audio so we can build this directly on the background here but I think what I'm going to do is just go over to the edit page this is 21 seconds long so let's make sure we make a composition that's like 21 seconds long okay let's do 21 and hit create I'll double click that and let's connect a background to our media out and here we have our footage now because this isn't on the timeline we won't have the audio here but we can kind of move this around and adjust it on the edit page which is slightly easier anyway so let's just kind of make this as a separate thing I'm going to go up to my workspace and uncheck show page navigation just so we have a little bit of room and let's give ourselves just a blank background of some kind we'll just do kind of like a blue just so we have something to work on okay and I'm also going to turn off our color management here so I'm turn off that L we want to make sure our colors look how we are actually making them and we don't have to match them and we're not doing VFX so we can just kind of build in uh non-color manage mode so we're going to show a graphic of a coffee cup and we're going to have that kind of sitting on the screen and then it's going to fill up with coffee and then a little bit more cream and so the first thing we need to do is draw a coffee cup now we could bring in a graphic we could do that a bunch of different ways but I want to show you how to draw basically anything with the shape system inside of fusion this is Fusion's way to natively draw Vector art and it's modular it uses all of the nodes and everything and the way that you do this it's a little bit of a different mindset but it's really cool and we'll kind of see why as we go here so I'll start by hitting shift spacebar and if you type shape shap here that'll bring up all of the shape tools and there are quite a few and we're going to be using a couple of them today but we're going to start with our s rectangle so we can either find S rectangle here or we can search for it and I'll hit add and what this will do is this will make a white square basically and we can resize it or anything just like you would kind of with a mask but this is actually a vector shape that's being drawn so we're not masking a background or anything it's actually drawing a shape but of course in our media out we don't see anything because we haven't connected it now the first thing you'll probably notice if you're new to shapes is if you take a s rectangle and you connect it to a background like this it doesn't work you can't merge it over things if you have a merge you you try and connect it to anything and it doesn't work so what the heck how are we supposed to do this what are we supposed to do well the shape system is a way to draw Vector shapes and a vector unlike a bit map image is not made of pixels it's like math so you can kind of think of it as like drawing just like you would draw something in 3D like a cube it's kind of just numbers and data and it tells the program how to draw something if it were to do so we do see a preview of this confusingly but we're not actually creating an image with it in fact if you look up in the upper right hand corner you'll see there's no resolution here because this hasn't been rasterized that means it hasn't been converted into pixels yet and because it's not pixels we can't actually put it over any kind of 2D image because it doesn't doesn't really make sense to do that it's like putting an idea over something it's just in pretend land It's Magic World and so we need to convert this from pretend Magic World into an image and we do that with a node called s render okay s render just has one job all it does is take exactly what we're making in shapes but it makes an image out of it okay so here this actually has a resolution 3840 x600 which is our project resolution now I can take the output of this render and I can put this over my merge like this and it connects oh baby so media out now we have a white square over a blue background yay we did it also this has turned on my L very annoyingly so I'm going to turn it back off okay so now we have our square and we're rendering it I'm going to take the render put it down here and the rectangle like this by the way if your nodes don't kind of snap like this right click and go up to arrange tools and make sure that your little popup thing here looks like mine two grid is not checked two connected is checked and auto arrange is not checked that's the way that I like to do it because things are less annoying that way and they can kind of snap to each other but they you don't have to snap them to a grid okay very nice so now we've drawn a white square and let's take this white square and we don't want our cup to be sharp we want the uh the corners to be rounded luckily for us this s rectangle has a little property called Corner radius and look what happens when I push up Corner radius it kind of makes those round like that so that's really neat so let's kind of round that out to something tasteful I don't know something like that and this is going to be the main part of our mug where it's kind of rounded at the bottom and the top and we can keep this kind of square we can adjust it kind of whatever you want to do you know if you want to make it a little bit taller I think maybe we'll make this just a little bit taller than it is wide something like that that looks good so this is just the main kind of cup structure now let's make a handle we could do that a ton of different ways but probably the easiest way is just to make another s rectangle in fact I'll just contrl C double click off and hit control V and let's start to rename these here we'll just call this handle shape this one will be called a cup shape I'm just hitting F2 to rename these and for this handle shape let's take the same thing but instead we're going to uncheck solid and push up the Border width so now we have this stroke around it and we can also grab the corner and make this a little bit smaller but now to actually see this shape and the cup shape these are like in different worlds so we need to combine them and with shapes how you combine shapes is a lot like how you combine other images you use a special merge node called s merge so it merges shapes together so this actually works how you think it would you take the output of a shape drop it on top of the output of another shape and we get an smge or smge as I call it using this smge it'll put these shapes together and if I grab handle shape and move it over to the right look at that we're making a cup we're doing it so we have that going on we have a pretty nice looking looking little shape so this is our main coffee mug shape made out of two shapes the handle shape and the cup shape we combine them with the smge we run it through the render and then we can merge that on top of blue now let's fill it with coffee we can do this a bunch of different ways but I want to show you some fancy things that we can do with shapes so let's first of all let's make the the coffee shape the actual like fill color for the coffee I'm going to do that with just making a new rectangle s rectangle I'll hit two on the keyboard to bring this up actually let's hit one on the keyboard and bring this up let's keep this keep it classy over here so we can see parts of it might as well use our two viewers right so this viewer on the left let's go to style and we can change the color of our new rectangle here and I want dark orange AKA Brown okay let's do kind of a dark brown like that oo nice coffee brown so good and we could roughly size this to the inside of our Cup this is one way we could do it we can take up the corner radius like that and let's just attach this to the merge like that and that's going to add coffee inside of our cup so nothing wrong with doing that but it's kind of weird that it's rounded at the the top so if this is full of coffeee it's not going to round at the top because that's not how physics works okay except for maybe tiny little tiny bit cuz of surface tension look up your physics so instead of that wouldn't it be great if we could just kind of fill up the inside of this with a flat line something that kind of looks like this at the top but is still rounded at the bottom so we're going to do something trixy we're going to use this rectangle as the fill but we're going to mask it with this cup shape so we have our original cup shape right here but look there's no mask input here in the merge there's no mask input so what the heck do we do can we attach a mask there's no way to mask anything with the shape system so what we do instead is we can use a node called s Boolean let's go ahead and double click off and type S B O and this is sort of like a merge node or a m control node um in in the 2D nodes what it does is it combines two shapes together and you can do that in various different ways okay so if we have our s rectangle here and we have another shape let's just do like an S ellipse just so we can see what this does this will put these together but if I take this ellipse down here we can see that it's masking this rectangle with the ellipse so it's only drawing that rectangle inside of this circle which is a lot like a mask right so what we can do is use this s Boolean as kind of a mask down the line and let's actually connect our cup shape to this so let's connect our cup shape remember you can use one node in multiple places that's one of the cool powerful things about nodes so let's take this cup shape and connect that to the S Boolean for our rectangle and now as we move our rectangle around you can see it's limited to the edges of that cup shape all right so if we make this wider look at what we're look at what we're doing here we got we can we can fill up our Cup oh man that's what I'm talking about we get so much coffee this way so we have a way to fill this cup up like this let's actually uh kind of break this out a little bit cuz you can put multiple things into a merge but after a while it gets kind of hard to figure out what things are in front of each other and for me it's a little bit easier just to break out in a couple different merges so let's rearrange these just a little bit let's take our cup shape so this is our first shape we're merging it with our handle like this then let's kind of bring this guy up here this is our fill and let's just make another smge smge plug that in and we're going to merge that over like this so now now just like we would with regular images we're starting kind of with our background and we're putting a foreground over it we're taking that and putting more over it here this the only difference is we're taking this brown rectangle and we're cropping it to be inside of this cup shape now why is it white because we told this to be brown and to be cut out by that cup shape right but this s Boolean what it's doing if we go to style mode it's set as replace which basically means that it's going going to colorize this so if we go to style it's colorizing it white so we could do two things we could change this color to Brown or we can go back to controls and here where it says style mode replace let's just style mode keep there we go so it's going to keep the style of whatever we're cutting out it's just going to cut it out only okay so now we have our coffee and let's put that over our cup and look at this things are things are getting pretty serious things are getting kind of serious here if we want to we could take this re angle and we can move this up and down and it fills up the cup but we all know that coffee doesn't go all the way to the edges of the cup if it did things would be a lot easier because we would have like 78 more per coffee and that's accurate so what we want to do is actually contract this mask in so that we have a little bit of an outline here and so it's kind of like a cross-section of the cup and we have some actual thickness on the cup all the way around so again there's a lot of ways to do that one thing we can do is just make a s transform node by typing SXF and this works just like a regular transform node except for it's in the shape world it's in pretend world right so let's hold shift and drag this down here before this s Boolean and look at this now it's going to run this cup shape over here through a transform before it cuts it out and so if we were to I don't know take something like the X size down look what [Music] happens this is exactly what we wanted right so we can adjust this X size and the Y size and the offset and everything and kind of move this to be exactly where we want but don't miss how cool this is because this cup shape everything is based on this cup shape and so if we were to take this corner radius down it would also take the corner radius down here of the Mask if we were take it up see we could make it really impossible to set down cup that would be that would be pretty terrible but we can adjust this and because it's modular that means that because it kind of goes through these live effects and draws this through this little flowchart we can adjust anything at any point and it will kind of flow down however we design it so cool so nerdy okay so now we have the coffee here in the middle and we can take this rectangle and move it up or down and fill up the coffee cup and if we were to fill this up a lot we have that same problem here but luckily we're probably not going to we're going to stop right about there anyway so it's not even an issue it's not even a problem so there we go there's our our coffee and from here if we're just doing that if all we're doing is filling this with coffee we're pretty much done we can animate this and I can just animate the x or y offset of this rectangle so at zero we could start down here and I'll just hit the key frame on this y offset that tells it at frame zero I want that rectangle to be right here 30 frames in let's have this fill up like that and guess what floop fills up right cool so if we just want a coffee filling animation baby we are home free but we're going to do some coffee and then some cream but if the cream is going to be white then it's weird to have a white coffee cup so let's make this coffee cup color a little different now this is cool I could go into this handle shape and change the style and then go into the cup shape and change the style and try and match those colors or I can run these through a shape Effect called s change style what that does is it just recolors stuff and so I can run everything through the cup and the handle merge together run that through S change style and let's grab like kind of a light blue and that will change the style of everything that runs through it it's a lot like what we saw here in the es Boolean where it replaces that style with whatever we have the Boolean but it's kind of just its own thing let's take a second and get a little bit more organized here let's move this over this is going to be our cup and I'm just going to make an underlay I'm just hitting shift space bar and typing UND d double click off of this hold alt and select it like that so that I can select this without everything in front of it and then I can hit F2 and we'll call this cup I'll also set the color to something hey blue it's like blue like the cup there's our cup and this is going to be our this is our mask let's make this our coffee UND D coffee let's set this to Chocolate yeah baby okay there's our coffee so what do we do if we want to fill this up a little bit more with cream it's actually pretty much the same process but what we're going to do is we're going to put a white layer behind this brown so that we can kind of have it pop up from behind it so let's take everything over here to the left and we're going to do a similar thing to our coffee in fact I'll just select this and hit contrl C double click off and hit contrl V this is going to be the same thing s rectangle but this rectangle instead of brown we're going to make it white this is going to be the cream let's rename this before we get too crazy and set this color to something I don't know tan I guess even though that's not really white it's the closest thing now we're going to take this s transform and we're going to use this same mask to mask our cream rectangle here okay let's make another s merge and I'll hold shift and drag this on here and plug this in like this so now nothing happens because this is perfectly behind the brown but if we were to take this rectangle up look what happens see why that works because what we're doing is we're taking this same cup shape and we're cutting out this white rectangle just like we do with the coffee same thing here we have this brown rectangle and we're cutting that out we're using the same mask but we're just taking this rectangle up a little more so that we just see it behind the coffee so now we see that behind the coffee just because we're lifting up this rectangle some more so if we lift it up too much again we have a problem but we're not going to we're just going to lift it up here we're just going to ignore all our problems like adults right so let's have a look at what this looks like oh baby this is looking so sweet all right let's adjust our amounts here because I don't think we're going to have quite that much cream something like that coffee with a little bit of cream on top if you don't okay real talk if you don't like cream in your coffee and you're a coffee purist chill the heck out let other people enjoy things on the internet I don't want to see any Scuttle butt in the comments okay I have a very old video on my channel that's all about how to make coffee and it is the single most hated video I have ever made okay so there's our cup it's looking nice the thing we're going to do next is add some text and little pointers to kind of show how much of each is happening because it wouldn't be much of an infographic if you didn't have any info we're also going to animate this and make it look nice but before we do that I want to tell you a little bit more about this crazy voiceover we got from art list so have another listen to this voiceover add your coar ground coffee into the filter and slowly add water to the grounds the hot water will cause the grounds to bloom this process releases the gases inside the grounds and allows the hot water to extract the oils and drip into the lower portion of the coffee maker like that sounds pretty cool it sounds natural there's even like breaths in there there's a lot of AI voiceover stuff that I've heard that sounds like AI voiceover this is the first thing I've heard that actually sounds pretty darn good so here's how it works if you have an art list Max subscription there's a new little section here called voice over and you can browse these different voices and type whatever you want them to say so I just saw this rural thing and it made me think of farming so I just typed in farming is a way of life I've been farming since I was young so let's hit generate and see what happens and here we go farming is a way of life I've been farming since I was young that's pretty cool and so that sounds good we can go into voice settings and we can change this around a little bit to be more flat or more expressive and so let's kind of push this up to be more expressive exessive do like 70% expressive and generate this again farming is a way of life I've been farming since I was young see like that sounds really cool and so the way that we've been using this is you generate it like a couple lines at a time so that you can mix and match the different styles and the the different ways that the AI voice kind of adds inflection and that kind of thing and you can kind of mix them in the edit and make it sound even more natural push the style boost up a little bit and see how that sounds and so it makes an audio file that you can download and you can put those into resolve for your edit so let's check this one out farming is a way of life I've been farming since I was young farming is a way of life I've been farming since I was young farming is a way of life I've been farming since I was young and so there's three different takes there you can make different takes on this this is such a helpful tool because I mean even with a real person who is exceptionally good at voiceover half the time you want them to redo it or say it a little bit differently and so you actually have quite a bit control over this even though it's AI it's wild in the heart of the Amazon a lost tribe thrives in oh no oh no here we see the elusive Sam in his natural environment oh that's sounds so good it sounds like a nature video so imagine this here we see the elusive Sam in his natural [Laughter] environment scratching his no wait he's taking out his phone this is so funny funny to me so again big thanks to artless for sponsoring this video and letting me try out voice over because it's it's so much fun and we did the entire voice over for the coffee video with this couple little details if you're curious about trying this out if you're subscribed to artlist Max the voiceover is included in your plan at no extra cost you can just go to artlist.io and start right away and the art list Max plan includes music and sound effects and footage and templates and plugins like all kinds of cool stuff for video creators but if you only want the voiceovers they also have just a dedicated voiceover plan for a lower price and you can even go and sign up for art list for free and you can generate a couple of test voiceovers just to kind of try it out so again huge thanks to art list for sponsoring this video this has been one of my favorite sponsor things because I I love this I think this is super fun if you want to try it out there's a link in the description below that gets you a great deal on Art list as well as helps support this Channel and what I'm doing so yeah pretty great creative tool and an amazing use of AI so I'm really excited to use that here in the future let's get back to our infographic shall we let's animate this coffee so we have our coffee here and let's make some little text call out things here and then we'll animate those so let's just start with Text Plus and so I'll type text plus here and we'll just merge this down the line a little bit and let's say uh black coffee and we'll size this down a little bit let's pick a different font I like Poppins that's one of my favorite fonts just move this over something like that that looks nice and so this is poppin bold and then I think under that let's have the amount and so let's just copy and paste this contrl c contrl v that's automatically going to make a merge and don't be afraid to kind of spread out your nodes too it's okay to have a lot of room I'm going to merge these over because they're kind of going to kind of be in the same group let's rename this uh coffee text this one's going to be amount text and so let's say uh 7 ounces and let's make this like Poppins regular 7 o like that and let's take the size down a little bit something like that yay okay let's align these let's go ahead and align these to the right so let's just H anchor let's hit right like that and amount text h anchor right like that now let's make a little line and we can also do this with a shape node and so let's do a S polygon this time so an S polygon that is just like what you would draw a shape with like a mask like this so it's kind of a custom path but instead of doing all of that we're just going to draw a line so I'm going to start here hold shift and just draw a line over here that's going to just make a straight line I'll bring this up on the left viewer let's push up the Border width a little bit and now we have just a little line what's cool about this is that we can key frame the length here and look at that we have a little little animated draw on line here or if we want it to come from the different direction we can adjust the position that'll work too then we need the S render like this and let's put that over our text and now we can kind of see how big this is let's take the Border width down I'm just dragging in the number field here to have a little bit finer control yeah something like that a little kind of classy there's our black coffee and I want a little dot at the end of this so let's actually let's call this a s let's just call this line shape and let's make a let's make another shape with a s ellipse that's going to add a merge automatically again let's let's get a little bit of room here okay there's our line shape this is going to be our DOT shape and this is uh maybe just a little big so I'm going to take this down to be real small actually move this over make this real small yeah something like that that mightbe a little bigger than that and depending on the style that we want we can leave it like this I think I might uncheck solid and push up the Border width a little kind of move this around yeah that looks nice see what we're doing here we got a little Little Dot and I think this actually looks a little better maybe left aligned maybe we'll just move this over a little bit let's take this I'm just holding shift and moving it over this way let's take our text take our coffee text and move it this way and our 7 Oz move that that way yeah that looks nice so now we're calling out how much coffee is in there and we're going to do a similar thing for the cream so we could take all of this and if we wanted to we could just kind of merge this before we merge it into the main thing it doesn't really matter Let's uh go ahead and keep our backgrounds on the left and our foregrounds on the top that's just the way that I like to do it it'll work any way you set up your nodes but I like to easily be able to tell what's in the background and what's in the foreground here it doesn't really matter for this because they're not overlapping but that's okay let's take all of this contrl C double click off contrl V like this and let's take the output merge that over this merge and so now we have two copies of the same thing one thing we could do is just make a transform node by selecting this last merge and typing XF in our little select tool palette here and then I can just push this up and now we're calling out the cream and so let's change this coffee text let's rename this cream text and we'll call this uh cream let's adjust our line shape I'm just going to grab it here and move this over like that so that it's in line with our cream that looks nice the one thing I'd say is that it'd be nice to have a little drop shadow so that we can see this over the white after this transform let's hit shift space bar and type Shadow and then we can adjust this Shadow offset and just push that down a little bit just enough to give it a little bit of definition I think that looks nice and let's go ahead and do the same thing on our other one so I could copy and paste this I can hit contrl C and then hit contrl V over here but instead I'm going to hit control shift V because that's going to make an instance so instance is like a copy of a node but all of the properties are linked and so if I change you know the shadow color or the softness or the offset or whatever on this node it's also going to change on this node and vice versa so I'm going to hold shift and drag this in here like this and now that's going to apply that shadow to both of these things and again if I change the softness it's going to apply to both so we're actually running this through two different nodes the other thing we could do is merge these together and then run it through one Shadow node doesn't really matter there's probably a slight performance difference but it's not going to make a big difference so there's our cream and our black coffee the cream is not 7 o what are we doing this is physics bro let's do 1 o maybe 0 1 o oh baby nice and nice and fancy 7 oz like that leading zeros I don't know maybe you think that's dumb do you think leading zeros are dumb how about you tell me in the comments okay I could also see an argument for left aligning these and having these here on the left as far as design goes but this works fine so now there's our cream and our coffee and what we've really done is we've designed the stopping state of this like the final state of everything and nothing's animated so far if we were to go through this so what we're going to do to animate this is set our key frames here with our final form and then we're going to kind of move things off the screen or collapse them or whatever we want to do to kind of animate them on so we're setting the final key frame for each thing that we're animating because we already have that set up right you could certainly do it the other way where you can start with it off screen and set a key frame and then bring it on screen and set a key frame but we're already here so we might as well set the key frames here so this whole thing let's have this last I don't know two seconds or so so about 48 frames in at 24 frames a second let's go with that and really an easy way to do this is just to animate everything going on at the same time and then we're going to offset them later that's a little bit easier and so let's set a key frame for anything that we want to change or animate here so we know we want this text to come in and so actually let's let's grab a rectangle for our text and we're just going to mask our cream text here move this around and and we're pretty much just going to put this around our text but above this line so that what we can do is take this cream text and we can just kind of hide it like that because when it's inside the rectangle you can see it when it's outside of the rectangle you can't see it right so what we're going to do is have this start down here and go Schoop like that okay take a similar rectangle contrl C and contrl V plug this into our amount text but instead that's going to be down here like this yay we're doing it we're going to take these same kind of things hit control and select both of these contrl C double click off here and hit contrl V and then we're going to plug these into our coffee text and our amount text here and let's make sure that our copy text is set right and our amount text is set right yeah something like that so now we can do a similar thing we can kind of animate these on outside of those masks and so the things that we're going to animate are the coffee text and the amount text the cream text and that amount text as well as the lines here so these line shapes we're going to animate those and the dot shapes those are all going to be animated so let's go ahead and just select each one of these and set a key frame wherever we're going to do this so let's uh set a key frame for width and height for our dots same thing here width and height and then we're going to bring that back a few frames just going to set it back like 12 frames or so and then let's take that width and height all the way down to zero on both of these same thing all the way down to zero so now as we play this back those kind of grow this okay like that right here on frame 48 we're going to set the end state of our lines as well so line shape here we're going to adjust the position I think so the position is going to stop at zero and then back here a little bit and take that position all the way up like that so that this grows from right to left out like that same thing frame 48 here with our line shape for our cream we're going to set a key frame for our position and then back here at frame 28 we'll take that position all the way to one so both of these lines and the dots are going to grow at the same time which is fine cuz we're going going to refine that adjust the timing here in just a minute yeah so the animation's actually happening again frame 48 this is our end frame let's adjust the position of our text under layout here under Center for our black coffee and our amount text layout Center and our cream text layout Center and our cream amount text layout Center this those are all going to be there at frame 48 and then at frame 30ish doesn't matter something like this we can adjust the timing later we're going to push these out so going to take this 1 o and just bring it up until it's gone from underneath that mask same thing for cream I'm to push it down until it's gone from underneath the mask same thing for the amount text push it up till it's gone coffee text push it down Till It's Gone there we go so now everything kind of comes Ino like that so we've animated everything the easing of the key frames like whether they slow down or not is not set and the timing really isn't set we just have the rough there's two key frames a start and an end for all of those things let's do the same thing for our coffee filling up let's take this rectangle and again at frame 48 let's have it stop there I'm just going to key frame the Y offset like this and then bring it back a few frames and bring it all the way down like that so now this comes in like that yay okay frame 48 same thing for our cream key frame this y offset right there bring this back a few frames and we're going to bring this down uh just until it's under where the coffee is something like that so yeah something like that is about right the other thing we'll do is with our cream for our rectangle here under style we can key frame this opacity let's key frame that opacity right here just right before it starts to grow and then we'll take it back one frame I'm just hitting left bracket on the keyboard and then taking the opacity down so that's going to kind of pop that on and animate it in at the same time because we don't want to see that cream until after the coffee's up so it's slightly confusing now because everything's animating on at the same time you could totally animate these on in order I think it's nice to do this in a in a batch but it might be more difficult to do this in a batch until you get really used to how key frames work so if it makes more sense for you to set out a whole animation of one thing and then animate the next thing and then animate the next thing that's totally fine but here we have all of the key frames and now we can go up to the key frames panel and here under three dots we can uncheck show only selected tools and here under our our sort options go to animated and that's going to show us things that we have key frames on so now we can move these back and forth in time pretty easily so here in our key frames panel let's just kind of zoom in a little bit here and we can kind of twirl down all of these key frames and let's see what we want to work on first so the first thing that needs to come in is this coffee which we should probably rename this thing so let's call this um cream rectangle and this one we'll call it coffee rectangle so coffee rectangle is going to come in first and so let's just have this start towards the beginning all I'm doing is selecting both of these key frames by Marky selecting like this and just moving it to the left cream is going to come after that so we're going to start that right after so now we're going to have the coffee and the cream come in and then it's going to be a little bit before anything else comes in so like that coffee comes in cream after that coffee cream great and I think this is about the right timing coffee cream so maybe we'll do coffee and then we'll wait on the cream for a little bit wait a couple seconds for the cream so coffee comes in okay now these call outs coming in that's maybe about the right time they could maybe come in a little bit faster let's actually rename our line shapes too so this is line shaped for coffee coffee Line This will be coffee dot the other one will be cream line and cream dot so now these are renamed here so that we can actually see what order we want things to go in um so the first thing we want is the coffee line probably so that coffee line will come in right after the coffee rectangle and actually the coffee dot will come in first so let's do the coffee Dot and we can probably make that faster too so I can grab these tick marks and kind of bring them closer together let's have the coffee line come in most of the way through that okay going twirl these up because I've already kind of messed with them give us a little bit more room here so now as we play this back coffee line comes in and we want that text to kind of start coming up right as that line is finishing and so coffee text and amount text that's going to happen after the coffee line comes in let's actually make that coffee line a little faster we go let's do the coffee and then let's do the amount like slightly after there we go see that's looking pretty good at least for the the bottom part the coffee coming in like that great let's do the cream in a similar way so the line and the dot for the cream are going to come in after the rectangle the rectangle is like right up here okay that dot is going to come in first and let's make it a little shorter let's take this line and have that when the dots mostly done so now that pops in over there right about when it finishes right about there then we'll bring in the cream text and the amount text shortly after okay so now we have everything kind of timed out so now it's coffee cream yeah cool cool now the text feels like it's pretty slow so let's make those a little faster same thing here let's make these a little faster yeah that feels a little better now let me show you a trick if we want to ease all of these key frames I can just select all the key frames here like this and hit F that's going to flatten out their handles just like we would in the spline panel it's going to flatten those out just like we would here but we can can do it quickly from the key frames panel so that's going to ease in and out of all of our key frames just select them all and hit F and now we have some really nice looking animations that looks so good there's our coffee and our cream the only thing that's weird is these dots they don't fully go away even when our length isn't done so there's still this little dot here and so this here for our style we can take the opacity down kind of like we did for the the cream rectangle let's take the opacity down here of our cream dot like let's have it at one right there and go to the left and turn that down same thing for coffee dot one to the left take the opacity down okay we need to do the line also okay opacity here and then take that down same thing for the coffee line right before it starts opacity is at one then it's at zero so now everything should start there should be nothing there and then it just appears out of nowhere there we go nice so now let's take a look at our final comp this is our coffee yes so good so good that looks awesome we built that all with shapes that's pretty neat and now let's take this infographic for our coffee let's drag this into our timeline and let's actually go to Fusion here and let's take this background let's make it black and take the alpha all the way down so we can see through it and let's also rightclick and say bypass color management all right and so we'll have this come in and we can actually grab this on the edit page and kind of move this around and adjust it however we want if you'd like to go this route follow the same steps and remember to leave a little room for about 2 to four tablespoons of a creamer of your choice pour and enjoy thanks for watching yeah yeah see that works I love that so yeah that works or we can of course use this as our own composition and it's beautiful baby ah so there's an in-depth look at creating animated infographics inside of the fusion page for resolve this is such a deep world and it's so exciting have a play with those shape nodes it's such a cool system to be able to build this in a modular way and reuse shapes as masks and combine them in different ways change the their style and all of that and remember you can download all of this footage all this media for free and you can make your own edit and practice color grading and compositing and Motion Graphics and all of the things because we just want you to be able to learn resolve have some great footage to be able to practice fusion so if you want to get that for free right there and art list was kind enough to give us a screaming deal you can get 2 months free of any artless subscription just click the link down below sign up for an account you get to make awesome voiceovers with no voiceover artist required and we make a little commission off of that supports the channel it's good all around thanks for hanging
