computers you can register you just start meeting people from everywhere I was lucky enough to meet Tanya through a Foreign Affair actually so I am a great example of how it can work and it does work what happens when you're lucky enough to meet the love of your life I was 27 when I was 29 952 knighted States I came from some Petersburg Russia John Seine it's my first marriage and your last yeah that's it second one the Aaron have really changed the way we do both internationally and domestically well the men do go to the site they have to register on the side and then they can start writing in New York at JFK everybody's being for the first time everybody's kind of sizing everybody else up it's kind of like a road trip if you're in a fraternity in a way but it has a purpose of course which a road trip does not I don't really feel like it's my last chance but I just didn't want to be alone anymore and nothing was happening earlier why would a mile spend this kind of money find a wife there's a lot of faith involved in this it has to be because you're asking man look fork over a few thousand dollars take a couple of weeks out of your schedule and come over with us [Music] that's ours all right guys you can watch the guys on the bus and they're kind of looking around out the window like wow wow they're a little bit of apprehension a bit of fear maybe a little bit of all these things going through their minds because there's not the easiest process in the world alright guys we're going to get started here with this orientation you know social is it's not a cocktail party it's a great opportunity to meet a lot of different people at one time right it's all about moving around as much as possible to try to meet as many different people as possible the first big event of this whole tour is the social enough what everybody's looking forward to so everybody is ready for that I don't have any expectations my plans are to shake the hands of every single woman Southern Baptist I've never danced if I find the right one I might I've been trying to be realistic in my search I'm a pretty good shape for my age but I can certainly feel my age in the last three years [Applause] would you like to dance I want someone that still loves me for me you know when I'm not as viral when I am starting to fall apart you know and I wouldn't mind falling apart with someone my name is Ron so you speak English [Music] well that's important if they're 25 years younger than they've been they're not going to be falling apart with me tell me about the woman that you met why happened when you met her instance first yeah I can't explain it even though she speaks very little English and I speak no Russian it was just instant sparks her name's Victoria we had the social dance for a while talked for a while never left her side till late next afternoon the global hotel freshen up and went back to spend more time with her in a perfect world this would just keep going as awesome and wonderful as it's been and if it keeps going in the direction that it is I plan on being engaged before I leave [Music] okay guys I'm glad to see that you all survived s is so far so now that you have one social under your belt yet a little better idea how to manipulate and maneuver in this social in Nick live the social will be held at a nightclub and only you're gonna find that one woman that you can really connect with [Music] we arrive at the social of five o'clock and it's jammed I mean there are women everywhere guys are making time in the line I mean they're talking the girls and the girls aren't even India they got two coats to us got one so start over Beltre they're veterans now they're not rookies anymore they know what they're doing [Music] [Music] I've been to Ukraine on six different trips and I walk into the social of course I'm always uncomfortable because there's a lot of people in that room and there's a lot of beautiful women in that room so the hardest part for me is just starting with the first one and I take my interpreter and we start walking in the room there or sitting at this table by herself is a very tall beautiful girl with long blonde hair [Music] yes Emma got a default pal Angelica look at the shoulders mmm when I took up shots almost pretty much to say she fit all the criteria that I kind of went on this trip with ocean solution studio isn't swollen I'll suddenly up anymore switch I could utilize you cook up a Thon's as opposed to treatment we talked for quite a long time and she was definitely interested in the possibility of what it could have turned into you some of these guys just haven't dated in a long time these passions and these feelings that I don't think they felt for years and years and all of a sudden they're really just exploring it all over again [Music] I'm skeptical on this having talked to some of the translators here when I asked them tell me what percentage of the women here are truly in their heart interested in finding a man being married I mean they're giving me some really low numbers do you have any children okay I'm look I'm looking for someone with no children I've certainly not met anyone age-appropriate for me you've now survived two socials I congratulate all of you for going to the third and final social here in here song it's going to be over before you certain specific things I like women that have black hair blue eyes people that are smart or independent someone that's gonna make me want to be a better me Oh when the guys come over they have their conversation with John Des Moines it said you know the lady I'm talking to online the lady I'm writing to works full time in a tourist agency Monday through Fridays half a day Saturdays and isn't a student and the person that max is talking to is a student halftime I said you know I've been writing this lady you know were almost daily for four months now emails for $10 a pop going and coming so I'm probably out 10 grand my biggest fear is that it was a scam that she's writing to 50 or 60 guys and she's getting a cut of the fees for the emails going back and forth Johnson he's concerned about that too so he's trying to find out what's really going on they finally got ahold of Julia and she is supposed to be coming here in about a half an hour hour for our first date I have to go in there approaching it like she's honest and all that and hoping so I'm not being screwed so and it's been hours I've been sitting here thinking the same thing over and over how do I know how do you know how do you tell we've been riding for about seven eight months now I was wondering what your feeling is on the relationship we've been running for so long I was hoping that we'd be able to move on I came here to see you that's the only reason I came was to see if you wanted to move maybe further in the relationship do you feel like she was the woman that was writing to you I had some questions and doubts because what was the pictures I showed her pictures of things that she's seen before the house the yard my work this is actually pictures from the last shuttle launch letters does it matter it would have it probably should but what I don't want to do is for me to overthink and it caused the problem that isn't only there because honestly I can't get this girl out of my mind do you want to come to America and marry me that's moving to this direction did you get her email address no gotta still go through the service because I need to have the translations so we'll go through that I can ask her through that if she wants to give me your email address I don't know she has one didn't even think to ask little Priyanka engaged they're not that [ __ ] friendly they're not just now they're leaving Stetsons that's how I feel no I don't think the people you're like Americans particularly you take a woman from the Ukraine and you have to overcome the language barrier if she doesn't speak excellent English more importantly you have to overcome the cultural difference but when I come back to the Ukraine or anywhere to look for a bride no I met one girl that I really liked so he probably spent about a total of three hours actually face to face yet the solution for your company washed oh don't be a [ __ ] large dome a high-dollar stuff so I understand you go back a killing machine machine after what you did with Coco Coco - no colonists Nikita Nikita sleek I just forgot today because I am back until I read it I was only hoping that this would happen I never dreamed that actually would really don't want to leave can I have two earlier off leaving Victoria here I will try to keep in constant contact with her please okay plot talk on the phone anything else you want to say before say goodbye to Victoria too much I'm pretty torn them down very you gonna be okay I don't know we'll see it's so hard to tell you who I think will be successful because to me if someone comes over has a wonderful time it opens their eyes that's a successful time but as far as finding that one woman and getting married if you define that as success that's really hard to tell because this is real life this isn't control they're all adults we're introducing and whatever happens happens [Music] [Music] it's been almost three months since I've seen Vika when I left Odessa I knew we had a great connection and you know we obviously liked each other very much you know I I can't say I was in love I knew I knew what I liked her a lot I've never felt that right away with anyone house and I didn't want to lose that after coming back home I did not know I was in love with her until I seen the video if they had on their website from the summer tour first time I seen it I bawled my eyes oh that was it that was what I knew it just brought back everything because I knew exactly what she was doing she was singing to me in Russian brought that back instantly I still can't watch it I'll be there in 1 week today I can't hardly sleep [Music] [Music] I've been to Ukraine on six different trips over the course of about nine years I've probably dated 35 to 50 women that I met there and all indications are that I have found someone that is truly serious about building a committed relationship and come into the u.s. so I leave on my seventh journey in two days and we will be back something's gonna happen but still had that nagging feeling that something was gonna something was wrong Freda thinking you were engaged I was I left thinking that we were gonna get married when I got back we were corresponding very very frequently but every time I would ask her something personal she just never answered a question so it really started bothering me but eventually I just gave up I said listen you either got to answer the questions or the said I'm done I don't want to talk to any more so she sent me one final letter saying that she was hurt you know I wasn't the person she thought I was I was like well okay it was over so why did you propose to her knowing that something was wrong what was I gonna lose at that point you don't think that he was misled her scam I don't think so that I'm not wondering I'm just not 100% yuria you know I have my doubts so we removed the woman from the site so we have taken off you know if since if she wasn't legit he still hasn't made anything right by me you know I spent thousands of dollars you know just for the trip letter translations photos thousands of dollars out-of-pocket for this all I can say is that we worry about us we worry about a Foreign Affair and we always try to do the best we possibly can for our clients we'd always try to act ethically if we find a problem we try to work to resolve the problem there's always gonna be problems but I think the measure of the company is how the company deals with the problems [Music] [Music] big houses big supermarkets [Music] when T Valley this weekend with the main purpose of introducing ena to my family and showing her a little bit of the town where I'm from getting her to actually see and experience some of the things I've been telling her about [Music] okay [Music] how did your parents feel about you coming over here [Music] yeah sure it was very hard for them yeah of course my mom just very cry and when I was in Ukraine just when we talked about it always cry and when they go it's it was very difficult of course I don't imagine that I did imagine that it was so difficult I was so back right now I grew up in a very small town and I was scared to death of the world oh I couldn't have gone to some other country [Music] anyone that would make the effort to come to the United States from a country like Ukraine it's got to be hard something really driving them to to want to do that to leave behind their family home though the only home they've known all the familiarity motivation could be either positive or negative you know fortunately all's well that I've experienced that she's here for all the right reasons he's showing us that video of her family or not our families are not that much different you know I can see they were doing the same kinds of things we do and it's kind of the same place you know people are more alike than they are diverse so it's kind of your two worlds together it's a very big challenge and it will take constant work but so is I forget the relationship [Applause] just as you get older you have new challenges you don't expect it think that people are old enough to make up their own minds and they be able to decide for themselves what they want to do with their lives it's their business I wouldn't intrude on that from one way or another so the flags are up for Memorial Day which is one of my biggest fears is this whole thing not working out to me this is for life and that's what I'm certainly hoping for and doing everything I know to see that that's how it goes oh nine Vienna right now I'll be boarding here shortly going to a Desa pretty excited can't wait to see Vigo many people just assume that women from other countries are just looking to get into America for a green card and after money and I believe there might be a few people out there like that but I think the majority of the people actually go through the process are fairly serious they're looking for love [Music] look what we can made the windows one was a police officer the other one was a loan shark the police officer explained that she owed orthos and he said if we didn't pay it right away she'd have to go to jail when I said well I don't have forth all of them he said well what do you have I said well I have a couple hundred bucks Lisa you give us a couple hundred dollars we won't put her in jail so I just kind of greeted them to make sure that I would get the airport on time I was hoping to formally get engaged but everything kind of seemed fishy so I decided not to [Music] what's happening today today we're going to this I got depressed for a while it really definitely affected me finally work through it pretty much stop trying to date anything like that until just recently I'm here to might try it one more time this is her mom yeah this is Vika it's not the same as Julia so i'm getting personal responses and actual yeah it looks like someone's actually putting some thought into the email do you ever just feel like you're just writing a photo yeah would you say you're in love with Vika all right no I don't know I thought I was and then it's just funny thing it's completely to my if it wasn't for the mine that means moto it seems like it's gotten worse after this last trip as far as asking for money I don't I told her no more after this last trip I'm Philip why I'm just fed up with it as if we weren't going to use the process there's no way I keep going on with it [Music] most people think it's the guy going over there they pick Norman they're not waiting to be picked they want the same relationship today every other woman once they don't want just anybody they want someone that's right from it your mother and father told us about a big development what is it I might have family what I always imagine I've seen things in Eric that I've never seen before when he's within I'm so happy for him to have somebody somebody to be with somebody even do things with somebody to love you need somebody to love and to love you guys it'll never ever happen just sitting on your couch whether you go with us you go someone with someone else are you I don't care get on a plane just go with Anyone know what happened to the pretty brunette translator who left her husband and took up with one of the Americans from the group? I think they mentioned she brought her young son here to the states with her, but was wondering if she wound up getting married

I find these people fascinating as it's so alien to me - I've seen, I'm almost certain, all the english and french documentaries on pay-to-love type of relationship but this one is probably one of the saddest :(

Some of these men clearly have unresolved issues, I hope they are better now.
