Horrible and scandalous, yes.
Shocking? sadly, not really.
I worked for a photographer in the 90s. Every horrible thing they will say in this is true. The agents, photographers, & bookers were the absolute worst people. I saw mistreatment, and heard much worst stories.
Do you think these predators have the long con in mind when the make careers choices?IE: Did Larry Nassar get his fucking MD to become a team doctor with the intention of abusing the athletes? Or do we think its something that develops over time?
βShocking?β Unfortunately nobody is shocked by this.. itβs pretty well assumed that this happens on a major scale
everyone knew the model and fashion industry esp in hollywood was fucked up more than 40 years ago, surprised it took this long
I started modeling in the 90s I went to Elite Model Look 2000 in Arlington TX. I did not get selected to go to National. I was 13. I never met this man, but I continued to model officially up until 2015. I can tell you these truths are rampant and Im glad theyβre outing the most powerful. The reality though is this happens on all scales and so many even the less powerful in the industry have gotten away with assault and rape in the industry be they photographer, designer, agent, or other. It happens in the music industry with musicians and in TV as we know with Weinstein. It happens in the corporate world, the religous and teaching sectors. It happens in our homes. We all should know how true it is. It happens to both genders. We need to believe victims. We need to hold these monsters accountable. When you hurt someone like this, it never goes away and in many cases destroys a person.
Of fucking course he raped kids.
This is why I look at people like Cindy Crawford who used to be a supermodel, who's adult children are in the modeling industry and have been since they were very young. She knew how toxic and disgusting this profession would be. Why encourage your own to follow in your footsteps. Beyond fecked up IMO. It's like feeding your kids to the wolves.
IIRC Kaia started when she was 13 and Google says that Presley started when he was 16. :\
Anyone seen Neon Demon? Seems like that movie was about this shit just amplified.
