hey y'all this is justin smith with louisiana crawfish company today i'm going to walk you through the step-by-step process on how to boil crawfish step one once you receive your crawfish you can take them out of the box what you want to do then is take them out of the sack you can use your basket of your crawfish pot for this it makes it real easy if you're not going to cook your crawfish immediately once you get your order you want to take the lid off the box you want to take the sack of crawfish out of the box and you want to rinse them off with fresh water do not take your crawfish out of the sack do not submerge them in water you want to rinse them to where the water drains through the sack and drains off the crawfish you can ice them in the cooler if you ice them in the styrofoam cooler you want to poke some holes in the bottom that way the water can drain through and the crawfish won't sit in any water step two you want to fill a large pot with enough water to cover the crawfish normally this is about halfway full of water in whatever pot you're using for your pot whatever quart pot you have if you divide that by two that gives you the rough amount of pounds that you can boil in that pot step three now that you have the water in the pot you want to add your seasoning i like to put about one pound of louisiana crawfish company seafood boil if you have a bigger pot sometimes you may add a little bit more after you add your seasoning you want to bring the water to a bowl and you're ready for step four step four this is where you cook your vegetables always start with your potatoes as they take a little longer to cook i like to cook my potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes when they get to about 15 minutes then you want to add your corn and any other sausage or any other vegetables that you might be cooking with your crawfish once the vegetables are done i'm gonna put them into a separate container cover them with the lid and you're on to cooking the crawfish step 5 this is where you cook your crawfish you want to add more seasoning to the water as the vegetables probably soaked up some of that i like to put one pound to a pound and a half of seasoning in the water before i boil once your water comes to a boil this is when you want to put your crawfish in drop your crawfish in the boiling water turn the burner up as high as it'll go put the lid on it and bring the water back to a boil once the water comes back to a boil you want to boil your crawfish for about two minutes once your crawfish have boiled for about two minutes you want to take them out here's where you can either use the container your crawfish were shipped in or if you have an ice just laying around the house you want to sprinkle louisiana crawfish company seafood bowl on the bottom of the ice chest you want to layer crawfish on top of that sprinkle more seafood bowl on top of that layer add another layer of crawfish sprinkle on top of that until you're done i recommend one pound to a pound and a half per set [Music] once you've layered the crawfish and seafood bowl put your lid on your box shake it up real good and let it steam for 15 to 20 minutes after they steam for 15 to 20 minutes you're ready to eat [Music] [Music] as always if you have any questions about this process you can give us a call [Music] you
