London Adventist Chorale Christmas Concert

good evening and welcome to our buc selection of evening programs we're glad to have you this evening and we pray that as we go through this day that you will be richly blessed by what we have to offer on presentation today we begin with the london adventist chorale at a concert that they performed at the uh saint mary's church in ealing and we give credit to the clonta theatre company for the filming of that concert following the london adventist chorale we have the buc children's thanksgiving concert an opportunity for our children to get involved and to hear what they have to say how god has brought them through the year 2020 and the description uh that the link for that can be found in the description or at the end of the concert by the london adventist chorale and then following the went out a decree we read in verse 1 and then verse 3 says and everyone the whole world went to his own town to register why because they are afraid afraid of whom caesar augustus a king who has almost unlimited power who built a kingdom in order to spread his glory and so into this enemy's territory god sent a helpless newborn baby i will tell you the best part it's found in the verse 10. in verse 10 it says but the angel said to them don't be afraid i bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people today in the town of david a savior has been born to you he is christ the lord now to understand and appreciate this you need to know that in greek language there are two ways of saying and give or giving a negative command you either say do not start doing something or you say do not continue doing something here is the second case so the angels say do not continue to be afraid now why is it that the angels say do not continue to be afraid why the people do not need to be afraid anymore because people were not afraid only of caesar augustus they have been afraid of their god god for them for centuries even millennia was a celestial version of augustus or nebuchadnezzar saying you better do what i say and so people had a wrong picture of who god is but now the angels are singing we bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people for everybody why because this child is a king of another kind he is the savior he is the king he is the messiah he is the lord he's the revelation of god who he was all the time looking at this child you can see who god is look at this newborn baby when roman caesar wanted to win a war he sent his army he sent a roman legion but to win a war to bring about peace god of the universe sent a helpless baby no one is afraid of a late of an infant and that's why the angels are singing you do not you don't need to be afraid anymore you don't need to continue to live in fear and trepidation before an awesome deity there is a king of a different kind there is a kingdom that is built on different principles there is a throne which is not founded on a military power there is a king of the universe who bases his government on love freedom admiration and trust and that's why the angels say today in the town of david a savior has been born to you but do not make a mistake do not underestimate this king he is christ he is the lord a king of a different kind yes the incarnation is mind-boggling it means that the world became flesh the eternal became boxed in time the infinite restricted himself to her body omnipresence came in weakness perfection came to carry our guilt shame and sin but the best part is this the best part is this child he came for you he came so that you and i can have peace of a new kind he came so that you are and i are not afraid of god anymore he came so that you and i see god in a different light and that's the message of christmas that's why this child is so
