Logic Pro MIDI Controller for Stream Deck Installation

[Music] hey everyone todd from sideshowfx once again and in this video i'm going to run through the installation process of our logic pro midi controller for stream deck devices package so we're going to start with the stream deck software here and in particular we're in streamtech version 5 with the new store here so you click on the store icon and you go to the left hand side pane here click plugins and in the search box over the top right here we're going to enter midi and it filters the results for us and you see it here this is the one we want here midi and we're just going to click install it's there okay and it just takes a second and that's it it's installed we can close this window and the next thing we're going to do is set up our ports so we're on the mac so we use audio midi setup and you can find that in your applications folder utilities folder there it is audio midi setup and you may have these ports but this is the one we're after here the iec driver port here so we click that and we're presented with this dialog box currently there's no ports that are available here so we're going to leave this device name blank very important you have to leave that blank and we're going to click on the plus icon down here so clicking on that it gives us a new port we're going to click on this to rename it now the case sensitivity is very important on this so we're going to type in machida capital m capital d we'll click the plus sign again and do a second one and click on it change the name and this will be da to mackie so capital d to capital m dot mackey click the plus sign again and we'll rename this and this will be stream deck 2. track so capital s capital d capital t just like that and click the plus sign again click to rename and this will be daw track to stream deck so capital d capital t 2 capital s capital d so dot track the stream deck just like that and then we when we finish that we click apply and we're done we've added our ports now next step we're going to launch logic pro and we're going to go up to the menu here logic pro control services and setup and you'll see this dialog box here we're gonna go to the new menu and say install we'll scroll down to get to mackie control right here and we'll say add and we can close that window out we have an output port here we're going to select daw to mackie and for our input port mackie to daw now we're going to jump back over to the desktop and inside of your logic pro midi controller for stream deck download folder there is a folder called midi graphics now these hold the graphics for the stream deck profile that you will install in just a second we have to put these in a very specific place inside this folder is this treviga spell folder this holds all the graphics so we need to put this folder in your documents folder so i'll open that up here i have my documents folder and of course the path is your mac hard drive users your username and documents so it's your documents folder so you'll click and you'll drag this into your documents folder i already have it there so i won't do it at the moment now once you have that in place we're going to import our stream deck profile so click the gear icon go to the bottom here to fly out menu for import and we're going to go to our once again our logic pro download folder and inside it will is the stream deck profiles folder and you'll see there's two profiles here one is for the excel device and one is for the regular 15 key device so whichever device you have to be working with that's the profile you're going to import since i'm working with an excel at the moment i'll double click the excel to install it and there you go once it's finished installing this is your main page now you will have noticed in the stream deck profiles folder there is also another folder called to copy now what this is this is two more profiles one for the regular 15 key and one for the excel device and what it does is it takes the entire profile and puts it into one folder so i'll import that just to show you what it looks like so here it is this is what the the two copy version of the stream deck profile looks like just has one folder here inside the folder is the full profile but it's all packed into one folder the reason for this is we can click on this folder right click say copy so let's say i have the logic pro pro profile set and i want to drop this into that profile so i don't have to switch profiles all the time go back and forth or you're building your own profile from scratch and to demonstrate let's just go to an empty profile here and since i've copied that it's on my clipboard i can select any empty key here say paste and there we have this entire package placed wherever i want it so that's the purpose of the two copy it just puts the entire profile into one folder and allow you to place it anywhere you choose and that's it you're all good to go as always you can check out our support page
