Tanner just caught a bad spot in a landing, spun out near the bottom of the venue, skied out of it.

[Music] [Applause] [Music] what is up ski and snowboard world welcome to the fourth stop of the fluid will to a 2019 here in Andorra and with Dino are police we have the stop just about to go down under bluebird skies and Frisch note I'm super psyched to bring it my name is Neil Williman here the boss of with Laphroaig Club commentator and trade buddy Derek sighs Derek oh no I'm sorry and aura is turning it on for I've been here a couple times before for the freeride Junior Championships my first at the freeride world tour in Andorra and I'm so excited to see what the riders have got for us we've got a little bit of a pop up on the face things looking good and I think we're gonna get today yeah I think so too just means they've been here for a few days and it's been absolutely looking after serving up classic and Doran hospitality yeah and then we have been doing the snow the pretty high knee long rich history back to the 11th century odorous only a history of writing and it has now become a mainstay freeride world tour right hosting the world to us 2004 think it has been the scene of a lot of big brands like this one from Sam's movie putting down line on her face just below we're competing today to name the venue in his honor not personally chosen but group chosen by the world tour semi lucky of course defending work to a champion putting down a winning line here last year on his way to a third world tour title and the almost local Iron Man of ariados paint boating in his way to lure this yeah have you heard that's we went to begin with such a terrific guy throwing down as deep snow big lions and freestyle hitting podiums across all of the categories guys and girls Ski and Snowboard you see the back look there it looks yeah and then after my backyard kicking horse gold to BC it was time to get rowdy and that is exactly what the riders did we got such a show in kicking horse on the ozone face boob run only two weeks ago it was time to hold the line and the riders did just that putting down such an appreciation and here we are in or Dino Ark Elise Endor it's crunch time right now there's a lot at stake for the riders and they are all looking to put their mark on this face it's gonna be the final and Verbier and only two weeks of the Xtreme Verbier on the mythical I cap Annika face we've seen big lines from last year from the guys that made history by doing some like nose butter threes on that face that I can not throw enough superlatives ere it is the biggest the steepest the most intimidating and the guys and girls are here today to try and claim the ax stake for a spot in Verbier in only two weeks as you see it it's crunch time today and we are taking only a portion of the riders who have competed at these first four stops for the first stop Derek that's right pressure is on not only for qualification for Verbier and for next year but also some Tour titles on the line here so crunch time it all comes down to today here in Andorra yes right [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so we are looking at as we said a ton of different scenarios there's a lot at play here today in Andorra and kind of a lot of pressure on the riders too it feels like yeah it's always a tough time of year to be watching the riders go through the emotional roller coaster they do that work so hard to get here on to the World Tour and I've worked so hard to stay on the world tour Aster's today we're gonna find out which 12 ski guides skip six know what guys six ski woman and four snowboard woman go through to the Verbier finals in two weeks and automatic qualification for the 2020 freeride world tour there has been so much action going on this year and the raw emotion that we see in the Stargate is something to behold Derick oh yeah the intensity at this stop has been at a different level than what we've seen as far at the other first definitely there's a lost egg even the face track you know things are just a little head above like it's time under it okay into verb you got ourselves a ride world tour next year or for some of the riders I don't and you know with some of the scenarios riders who if they win and the title is gonna be there but right now it's really kind of the what here in Andorra a lot of emotions but feelings things are running hot yeah that's right fade away a little bit reveal friendly and yet but just in the morning difficult did a little chat early I'm here to see the for running your head for your time in the stock and right at the mountain when you're standing here really to what could be your last round of the season ocean filter the journey starts here among Giants your names on that bed this was the first step up here there are no filters no pretenses it's total exposure [Music] you've been promised everything in nothing [Music] the mountains only know one language honesty early calls sleepless nights the nurse this obsession this journey it has one destination underdog or contender he doesn't matter dreams will come true crumble awhile glory fades and victories past [Music] the mountains always leave you with something the truth oh I get goosebumps every time I watch that it's so crazy what the riders go through up there in in the starcade and the difference in emotion from the start to the finish when it just the relief pours off you know crash or stomp it's it's a feeling of relief to be down but it's not an intense emotional these things that good-paying adrenal vein sits so much the I know the cross-court I've had a couple different hot seat two riders concert well they awake for this good writers be competing no but Grandville trying to make things with the difference of no conditions but through beautifully for us writers are gonna have to starts to access one at five 700 meters and this starts to at 2530 meters so looking at 90 meter or 350 meter vertical drop depending on which one the riders access yeah that's right and this photo taken a couple of days ago before the storm of just head passed through and clear so it's a little bit more snow on the face a little bit more rates power as there ain't about vehicles at 43 degrees in comparison for 48 degrees of the last stop we had so not quite as deep which means it might be a little bit more freestyle friendly we've seen tricks here before and it is northeast so getting the Sun first thing in the morning that looks beautiful right now lots of features sloping from the lookers up a lift up is lower right meaning that if you can link a bunch of those features together but they're less than 400 meter vertical face I think you'd be looking at a good score it's gonna be about creativity and finding linky lines today Derek that's right yeah this face is a little bit compressed and the features are all super close together so exactly as you said creativity is going to be the key here and the riders who can link it all together are gonna be the ones who are gonna come out successful definitely not easy though with with everything just being so close together and of course although we are on on this smaller face the riders still using the visual inspection which is the classic style on the freeride world tour so they've had a look from the bottom they've had a look from the sides and everybody's kind of been holding their cards pretty close to their chest on this one yeah that's right we've had a couple four runs down today already you can see those two beautiful looking tracks just look his lift down Larry Lorant Gotye taking one of the first four runners he is also a judge and he's got to enjoy the powder as well as Fred fruity spaghetti taking a drop and the look is right and finding out that it's Dom peace know it's what you expect it's what you see it's not the deepest power but it's not gonna change that much through the day which will make it more fair depending on whether you have a start or a late verb I think it's not gonna have too many bomb holes yeah so let's talk a little bit about the conditions here it has changed we had a melt free cycle that we were we were kind of going back and forth between hard snow in the morning and then soft spring snow in the afternoon and then the weather kind of changed and as as predicted by our forecasters here our freeride world tour forecasters who have done an amazing job on calling the day for us today it snowed hard last night with to wind and it's kind of reset the face what does that mean for the riders here now well it's a little bit similar to fibrin isn't it we've had the the free ride we'll top-up as we call it getting a little bit of snow just before the competition to make sure the venue it looks good we had a different venue lined up a few days ago and we're hoping to run that and spring conditions in terms of the melt freezing a little bit of softening snow through the day which would mean that would be riding on a different looking face of this one unfortunately the snow didn't soften as much as we're hoping and the overall face wasn't as safe as we're hoping so we've changed this one and the reason why it's slightly smaller is because with fresh snow it takes more time to secure a face you know the the security team has done a great job making sure there's not gonna be any dangerous avalanches no heavy Slough that could watch riders off cliffs or something like that so the reason we have not stepped back up and to a larger longer venue is because of the time that it takes to secure there after a windy storm so really excited to see what the riders have got on this venue here it's not gonna be an advantage or disadvantage to have been on the world tour before because no rider has written his face and competition to the state yeah a fresh pallet for the riders to paint their creativity on here and what I'm what I'm really kind of looking forward to is to see what the different styles of riders are gonna do with this face there's definitely a lot of opportunity for for creative writing and really creative line choice you know it's quite tacky up top there's definitely some opportunity for those big mountain specialists to peer free riders to put their mark on it and then there are definitely a few lips and probably some mystery lines that nobody else is seeing that we're gonna see some writers put put there put their mark on but of course as much as we'd like it to be this isn't just a show this is also a competition and you know within competition we've got a we've got to judge the athletes so our judges well the riders are up at the top you know focus going through the routines we've got our judges ready to watch what they see and say what they think that's right some really great judges got today really experienced panel here today they'll be judging our fights from criteria the first of which is the lion score and lion score is based on how difficult the path you take down the mountain as great example from Sam smoothie they're here in the Dora yeah and then of course fluidity this is how fast you're going are you moving towards your features are you traversing pointlessly it's not necessarily just about speed but about speed relative to the terrain that you're in control the next category of course writers need to demonstrate their and control at all times if you get out of control especially an exposure that could hurt your score because it could put your help air and style of this is the Showtime this is what everyone loves to see how big are the riders going off their features are they doing tricks are they doing grabs this this category is really all about the Showtime it's the one we all love technique also super important you can't write technical lines without it's why they call technical seeing a wedding run from the brother of victor Delarue there on the victor ross a few years ago piece of stuff oh yeah so the riders they know that they know the categories the judges are judging on and they know exactly how to hit all of those categories in their lines and you know what it's pretty important here for everyone to understand is this is an overall impression judging so the judges taking those categories matching them up against what they see the riders do and that's where they come up with their scores those scores aren't really super based on the numbers it's more about the ranking so if you see you know if the judges throw a 90 early on they need to leave themselves a little bit of space to to be even more impressed by somebody else so we're gonna see the riders being ranked in in the order that the judges feel that those those athletes have hit the categories yeah that's right we make it objective as we possibly can across those judging criteria and the sport of free riding you know it's been around for a while I love it it's been a big part of my life it's a big part of your life as well being the coach of the whistler freeride club free riding what is it why do we do it where do we do it it's such an interesting thing to explain us being a lot of my life explaining it actually what is free riding this is free riding but this is free riding too it's as old as skiing itself and it doesn't matter how do you look what equipment you use or where you are it doesn't matter how old you are and it really doesn't matter help Yugi it's about letting go of your fear being an idiot with your friends and knowing when to stay indoors all you need is a slope snow and the imagination to draw a line this is free right really it's very simple if you're having fun you're doing it right free riding freeride skiing and snowboarding god I love it and god I want to be doing it today because look at this face right now it is Bluebird it is fresh nor the foreigners made like look it made it look like it is a good time out there man it's a if you look like you're having fun it makes other people want to do it you know yeah I really honestly think that's kind of the number one criteria the unnamed criteria for the for the judges if it looks like fun it probably is fun and if it looks like fun it's fun to watch and the judges love a run and we were talking last night a little bit with some of the riders and and the the athletes that have done well that have placed on the podium when they finish they're almost always in that mood of man that was so much fun I had such a good time up there and and really I think the riders that harness that energy are the ones that are successful in this sport yeah that's right so taking your your natural free riding to the competitive environment because free riding as free as it is it's used to be called extreme skiing it's kind of been renamed to big mountain or freeride skiing not really encouraging the extremeness anymore we don't want people to be stepping outside of their their comfort zone in terms of what they can do safely you know obviously they're pushing the limits of what they're physically capable of but they're very capable athletes so the amazing things that you see here today they're very well practiced are very well trained they're very well prepared you know I've looked at this face from lots of different angles and taking photos and studied them at night and it's not just something that they ski down and jump off the biggest thing I can do is know longevity and that as as we saw and the Quattro performance shaken video from the hockey we're stopped when Travis Rice was interviewed transition finding is what you want to be doing in my opinion looking for a best place to learn and then find a place you can take off to do that so that's all a part of competitive free riding which is what we're doing here today of course we had ahead fun but we're also here to see who can take home a title when maybe today on the prettier day at least could be a win on the Fred will to her overall computer free riding what is it what is competitive free riding well after years of having fun people began to wonder who was best and so it began the food skiers held a competition in Alaska next with Switzerland the be extreme Verbier gradually these contests spread across the world and join together does this single tour and so we went global the big show but in the end it comes down to one rider atop a mountain and while safety equipment is abundant the rules remain remarkably simple there's a start on a peak and a finish at the bottom there are no gates no piste no calm and there's no practice run riders rely on a visual inspection and their imagination to create to live runners are judged using five subjective criteria which means any approach or style has the potential to win Reuters the pressure is immense and the margin between success and failure now [Music] over the years competition has driven the sport to new heights and now the only certainty is progression this is competitive free riding yeah competitive free riding it's so hot right now on the junior level on the qualifier level and right here obviously on the freeride world tour so we are looking currently at a 9 a.m. Central European Time start we've had a little delay we had some clouds on the face this morning but things are clearing up the sky is blue the snow is perfect and we are just about ready to go so if you're just tuning in 9 a.m. we're gonna be looking to drop our first snowboard man Neil how excited are you pretty pretty psyched I'm pretty so excited it is been a bit of a wait we've been here for a few days waiting for these exact conditions that we have here right now so we've waited through the spring conditions we're now back to winter it looks just amazing out there I would love to go roofing and I'm sure the riders are excited about it as well and while we have been waiting for these few days waiting for the snow to come we've been making the most of Endora of Dino oculus and the touring possibilities in the local backcountry I've been touring with local legend Danny for Nell Pratt then tour and rider who's on the bullet or before wild card or to several events here we've got Thomas rich wild card today and there's no wood category but Danny fallen our prat showing us around and the will tour riders going on a separate tour actually enjoying the backcountry here showing us what was you know oculus has to offer just seeing the riders getting ready in the state hell he's flying around a little bit when scoured up on the ridge at the moment only a few turns away from the riders there it'll be getting into the powder yeah as you said the riders definitely been making the most of our of our ladies in-between competitions it's been a bit of a summercamp vibe we've had all kinds of activities guys playing soccer tennis going ski touring around the resort and as well kind of off the off the road in between or dino and up here in our cleese it was pretty cool to see sea tab key and and ran and Jackie and and Manuel mando getting out there in the backcountry and kind of enjoying you know what this place has to offer although we weren't competing the skiing was still super fun yeah that's right spring vibes like you say spring divides summer camp we'll get to the refuge and then just climb up behind this Ridge up to the pass that way before then from up there we should be able to see everything our kalise are do you know so we've got world champion cheese of 2012 gotta gotta get up and get down perfect conditions to explore Endora finally been here a couple of times but never really went out into the backcountry and looked at stuff and now I mean that spring snow oh that looked like a good day as I was a little bit jealous when they got back that I had opted to go skiing in the resort instead of going with them but I had a great day too skiing with all the riders and stuff it's definitely a humbling pack to shred without herein in Bertino our Calise yeah that's right spring snow great for exploring just like my reminder was saying get out the air a bit more if it's nice and stable you can go and see the sights last couple years we've been distracted with skiing powder and and around the resort so changing it up a little bit I got to go for a tour with Danny for now Pratt the local legend as well so great just explore a little bit more scope for when we come back here next year and hopefully ski the same lines with a little bit of a powder yeah absolutely it's it's definitely been cool to see you know through through the tour right now the junior side of things is just exploding we had a junior event here in orden you know our Kelis on the weekend and those riders were absolutely going off we had a couple of World Tour athletes on the judging panel as well as the freeride world tour judges who were judging those guys and almost all of the World Tour riders came out to support those juniors and it was incredible to talk to the riders after as well watching and just to see where the level is out with the juniors it's unreal yeah the juniors are absolutely killing it right now it's such a pleasure to see and we're starting to see some of the juniors coming through the qualifying series onto the will to a now and just the continuity of the sport that's really bringing the level up it's been absolute pleasure to see the last couple years [Music] we are ordinal arteries for the Eldorado Junior the level of the juniors is insane man they're almost skiing bad better than some of the three got rolled to grab beats now man levels high it's way way higher than when I was growing up kids were just getting better every year at a younger age so it's really cool to watch them send it and see what the next generation is gonna be like [Music] [Music] the juniors are hot right now they're going off it's so cool to see that and as you said some of those junior riders progressing they're graduating on to the qualifying tour and a few of them of course the goal is always the freeride world tour but we're now seeing a bit of a steady march out of the Junior Tour onto the queues and then not too long to right here on the freeride world tour yeah you're saying that you as a coach will with the former coach of tom and liam paisa out of the whistle of freeride club and they went straight from the Junior Tour to the freeride world qualifier and now both on the freeride world tour competing here today so that level staying solid you're saying that those guys are saying it gets harder and harder on the f/w every year just because there's like 10 new riders coming off the junior series that could be an strong intention for the flow to it every year yeah it's just incredible seeing is seeing how these athletes are skiing and and their skiing you know in a way that is beyond their years in terms of maturity in terms of line choice and even in terms of decision making which is something you know as a coach and as a as a I don't know help her in the organization of the Junior Tour in North America that we really strive for we want to give the kids the tools to make good decisions and kind of like Travis Rice said and the Quatro performance check to have longevity in the sport everybody wants to do well in Junior comps everybody wants to do well in the qualifiers and even have a good you know solid career with good results on the freeride world tour but ultimately the goal is to be skiing you know into your 90s and still enjoying the sport and enjoying the mountains with your friend as as we saw in that video of what is free riding that's the goal and good decisions are what's gonna bring that about exactly so the decisions today I wonder what the riders have chosen for us because it's an interesting face and we are looking to kick it off in about 5 minutes 10 at the most the riders lining up at the top now they've watched the foreigners they made their way down to the bottom up the lift and now standing at the top waiting for the clouds to finally peel out although we have Sun on most of the face there's a little bit of fog lingering around the top heli is flying around there right now trying to blow it away and we'll have our first riders underway in about 10 minutes so the first one out of the gate today Ludo Gyo da he's someone that knows the thing was about free ride will qualifies he's competed on them for about five or seven years I believe actually on the world tour in 2012 to 2014 Fighting's way back through the qualifiers and now is back in 2019 lots of flips from this guy this yet yeah Ludo the front flip master he's been doing the tame dogs all over the basically all over the world and I'm pretty excited to see where he's gonna where he's gonna insert it into his run today I was talking to him this morning and he said he feels good about it he likes the snow conditions he's actually pretty stoked on the face he said the compressed nature of it feels a little bit to him more like a qualifying venue which is perfect for his I don't know for his experience and now he feels like he's got a he's got a good shot at this face this year yeah Ludo one of the many talents know what as writers we have here today he needs a result today I would say I think that he's looking at podium to qualify for VA and Phoenix yeah last year ludos on the qualifiers and we were here in the freeride world tour in ladino police with an impressive stop we saw some huge lines go down last few day yeah this place you know it's only been and/or has only been on the freeride world tour since 2015 which kind of relative to save Verbier is a newer stop but it's immediately grabbed our attention with all the different lines and all the different potential venues that this resort has to offer you know this is I think our fourth potential venue fourth time or sorry fourth different venue that we've used here in Andorra it's it's actually super special in that regard a lot of resorts have one or two to offer this place you every corner you look around there's another potential venue and each one of them has just shown us some absolutely iconic moments in free-riding yeah that's right the versatility of this place has been fantastic we've got so many different venues we've got different ones we'll be using for the qualifiers as well as the freeride worlds who are ones that we've used in the past when were using today it's great to have that because with a bit of fresh snow and a bit of wind it can really transport the snow different areas on the mountain you never know what part of its gonna be in the best condition to ski so big ups to the crew for moving things around big ups for the riders for for being adaptable Big Ups to the weather for finally providing and pick up to the Fred will to star for how hard they work because there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to bring you the show here today be a little bit different tell people we speak it's over here in the middle gonna take ma casitas here instead and take it even deeper and stomp it and double out the bottom you boy yes flat three stomping it hit banging driving that out too high safety on the other side speeding it up and stomping it I think it was such a technical entrance to that you need more races [Music] [Applause] [Laughter] the action that we saw here last year Derek it was mind-blowing stuff I think you probably just heard me at home getting pretty excited on the commentary about those runs it was crazy you know the things that you don't think it's gonna happen you don't even imagine a possible and suddenly the writers are elevating things to new heights every year I just don't think it's possible and it keeps being possible to just do more crazy stuff they're so talented and they're so motivated so they definitely want to put on a show here for us and the first group that's going to put on a show or attempt to put on a show here for us is gonna be our snowboard men that's right we're looking at playing around with the stylist a little bit we've got one of the starts in the cloud at the moment and other ready to roll and we're just as excited as you are at home about getting this show on the road and underway so we might be looking at dropping people in a slightly different order than we originally planned will still be rolling snowboard meant first hopefully Ludo is has chosen this dollars that happens to be in the Sun right now but if not then we'll be dropping someone else for this we'll get through the snowboard men hopefully this cloud and fog heads off soon and we'll get the snowboard category under way so the snowboard man coming up and at Europe and we have some news about this guy Viktor Diller oh he could take a free ride wheel to a title home today with when it's pretty exciting stuff it depends on what the other guys do if he doesn't win but he's got the chance to honest rookie season as a Fred will to a competitor take home the gold yes but hot on his heels these two men Sammy Lukey and Davy Baird both looking to have a say in this both of them looking for a title but for slightly different reasons Sammy Lukey looking to back up three world titles in a row with his fourth and Davy Baird looking to lay down his claim on his maiden free ride World Tour title both of these athletes definitely hungry for it right now and looking to to land themselves on the top of odium at the top of the podium and take things to Verbier for the title yeah I love both of these styles all three of these styles of course the way that Davey tweaks is grabs the way that Sami just charges so hard feel free riding around with him it's tough to keep up with him even on skis and no matter what the snow is Sam you psyched that the competition is happening today so that he can get home to his daughter's birthday shout out to his family so start --less coming up we have Ludo key oh dear like we're saying originally destined to be the first right out of the gate today I think we actually have Jonathan Pinfield because he is the first person that starting from the start that has been the Sun we've got to starts as were saying earlier one of the look is lift one on the look is right and the one on the look is right as the one that has more Sun and is ready for the riders to get underway because there is not as bad flat light over there so Jonathan Pinfield actually first out of the gate joining four Americans and the first five of the stylist de Davey beards were saying and semi lucky both in the hunt for a will to a title and then in the second half we have a wild card starting off a local guy yeah that's right a Spanish wildcard Thomas rich definitely looking to make his mark here on the freeride world tour it's great when we have these local wildcards because sometimes we see some incredible oh well you know what all the time we see incredible riding from the wild cards and then we have the man who is looking to lock down the freeride world tour world championship title victor de la roux he's gonna be up there and he is pumped on this venue he's looking to make his mark Thomas first Dean Christopher Galvan giegi roof not starting today for personal reasons each of those guys definitely we're missed on the freeride world tour right now but all three of those guys not able to start today so we are looking at a slightly diminished field but of course those that we do have are well they're awesome yeah that's right of course we've got three guys are you saying not starting for the next year of injuries and personal reasons which is throwing a little bit of a spanner in the works about the calculations that we've done about whether Victor could take home a world title by winning or not I've got a first rate of coming in one minute it is gonna be Jonathan Pinfield and I feel Jonathan was a little bit unlucky to miss out on that recap of who's been riding well this year because he's been writing so well I've been so impressed with the consistency line always good decision-making and execution and because the levels been so high this year I don't think he's been able to really find his way into the top three overall though he's got on to a couple of podiums yeah John Penfield is a shredder if you watch his Instagram when he's back home riding Whistler and Blackcomb he's sending every day and he's been enjoying the spring POW session or sorry the spring slush sessions that we've been having here in between our last fall start and today but Jonathan Penfield ready to do it he wants that spot on the podium just as bad as anybody else and you know he's got the skills to do it yes there was an Instagram post recently this did three solid runs not up there yet better step it up and that's such a good attitude to have he's been riding super hard doing super well hasn't quite got the results he wants yet look like it's probably qualified for Verbier and the 2020 World Tour but that's not enough for this guy he wants to be right up there charging to the top of the podium so starting in 30 seconds Jonathan Penfield the biochemist out of Tahoe now living in Whistler Johan - that's right yeah I you know I see John ripping around and always see his like I said his grand post and I'm like oh where was that spot you know he's always got the snow over his head he's sending huge errors and right now he's about to start off our campaign here freeride world tour 2019 stop number four in Andorra or Dino are cleese ready to kick off with Jonathan Penfield up at the starcade right now john powell as they call him ready to roll as was saying he was not first on the start list but here's the first honest atlas is planning to start from the lookers right start discerning a start at the moment so to make sure they get the best light possible we're sending John Parr first starting things off and five seconds just about to come out and at you the first rider from the USA today out of about five I think I think we've got majority majority out of the tin snowboarders that were gonna be we have seven starting today four of them from America and the first one coming at you is the man at Jonathan Pinfield ready to rip Victor Diller Rose standing up there Green Jack yellow bird looking back at John Powell probably starting from the same start so it's nervous moment when you're watching the first rider dropping seeing if the features you've scoped out work look good from the top GoPro one of the sponsors here today John Powell on at the top with the GoPro honors here just making sure that the settings are all sit right before he drops on and hyper smooth is what they're looking for today Derick oh yeah look at the snow condition speaking of hyper smooth that shot just makes it look like so much fun to be up there shredding and I think the writers you know there was some nervous energy especially when when the conditions weren't exactly on and last night we were we're down in the hotel it was raining everyone was wondering what was going on here and the mood when we got up here and everybody's skied down to to the facecheck to watch the 4runners elevated by a hundred percent people just skiing off the side of the green run going oh man it's good we got that freeride world top up again and we are back up to the top with John Powell Jonathon Penfield one of a very strong contingent of American riders ready to kick things off here in Andorra the GoPro is go the John Powell is on first rider on course here today and Athena akka lease the full stop with the free ride will to a 2019 looking to get another podium spot Jonathan Pinfield is just about to be on course and here he comes out of the gate going all the way to look is right searching out for the features all right so Jonathan hitting his first ere you can see the snow is the register described it as stompy oh and Jonathan floating a nice three there as he starts things off with a bang here Neil yeah that's right Jonathan pin field traditionally more of a freeride focused ridings riding big gnarly lines fast and aggressively but putting in the style here today adapting to the venue yeah and you know we talked about this this venue another saucy little three therefore John Penfield adding the features up as he ticks off as many as he can this riders left side definitely maybe a little bit more conducive to the freestyle riding style and Jonathan Penfield as you say doing what he needs to do he's on his feet here slicing up the race pow as you called it and looking like he's having a good time doing it that's right looking to hit the same here is a four and I here today I'm putting in a stylee grab on that to little bit of a washout in the landing but strongly excusing him riding out looking good way to open up the venue here today John pout thank you very much yeah Jonathan Penfield reverting to switch they're flipping back and finishing his way through here as he makes his way down to the finish arch through that glorious looking reset snow so that was a great way to start things off for John Penfield and i think a bit of a sign of things to come yeah that's right Jonathan Pinfield out currently from Canada although originally from America representing for North America he's got a little bit down on the judging criteria for control probably because of his butt cheek on that last landing but it was legs were pretty strong on on all those landing it's at stomp events though yeah so looking back here John with that backside three super clean landing definitely adding to his repertoire as you said and then another little cheeky one on those runs at 300 feature there and then this big arrow at the bottom this is where our riders are gonna be a little bit challenged because the snow while it is soft on the surface it's still firm underneath so you're gonna have to be bang over your feet in order to stay balanced right out of these landings yeah putting in a nice mute on that bottom feature cruising on down through the race bow for John Powell it's got 64 points sitting in first position at the moment I think he might have already taken a seat in the hot seat got Jonathan Pinfield sitting about 64 points judges putting him you know and the kind of level where it's like oh you know we think we'll see if you ride us above that we think we'll see a few riders below that it was a good way to start things off but won't give themselves lots of space either way alright so we are going back to the top and we are gonna have Ludo Gyo di as our second rider out of the gate looking like he's also dropping from start number two Ludo as we talked about he is looking for a strong result here and you know that this this face kind of favors his riding style so he's gonna be looking to to really throw it down and make a make a splash and and really get the judges excited here get that thermometer running hot yeah I wonder if we'll see another front flip from Ludo key idea here today I don't really like saying he needs a result cuz it's not like the world was gonna end if he doesn't get one you know of course he'd love to get one call it might over be a next year but he would like to get a good result I'm sure to prove that he deserves to continue to be here on the freeride world tour I think he does and I'm C excited to see what he has for us today he's on course now rolling out of the gate staying up high on the ridge as he makes his way down towards his first feature here some olanta jian pain field so far snow what is starting from the look is right and the sparkly POW experiences you hold the last time and favor yeah nice to see the the snows kind of hanging in the air gets lit up by the Sun and definitely just gives it that kind of magic feeling as Ludo comes in and gaps over that feature finding perfect transition on that one he making that snow look good it's making his way all the way to the look is right side of the venue using those trees to spot his takeoffs landmark features stomping that one too strong leagues so far from Ludo spraying that snow around making the most of its idle ease as well you're talking about linking features being important he's doing that well so far all right so we're gonna see here ludos gonna come down taking off just a little bit lower and find a transition with a little bush hop double there out the bottom Ludo wrapping up his run coming into the flats here and he is clean and still on his feet leading off that last feature - enjoying the whole run and another ollie past the bush tap tree rock section yeah a little bit different from Ludo - John I think he came down into the bottom feature a little bit more slowly changed the angle that he took on the take-off didn't follow the takeoff angle of the forerunner or Jonathan P Enfield which means he landed it's an exact first tale pretty stiff his way through that I like that little tap and it's controlled knock down as a result his lion score not quite as high as Jonathan Pinfield the other features all other factors all and the green so I think that his Lebrun will probably for me score higher than Jonathan just because Jonathan had that we control issue Ludo putting down a nice run today and looking to get up onto the podium and qualify for the VA and finish yeah yeah alright so that's a sixty nine point six seven for Ludo and that's going to drop him in to first place currently as you said they're the riders kind of looking to find that transition on the features - trying to find the angles that match the take-off for them to land on in lugo sorry Ludo definitely did that there he was able to able to find the exact spot to land off that feature and while it did have a bush in the run-out that didn't seem to bother him at all yeah I like that little tail tap press that he put on through that one not exactly sure how we're gonna have next and the start get it could be Davy beard if we're running from the start list depending on that whether the other start list is really or not and I believe it is Davy beard coming out and a cure soon oh yeah Davey Baird Davy has been on the podium all over the place he has won a freeride World to her event in the past and you know he wants to win this one because he is still in hunt along with Sammy loopy and of course Victor de LaRue is at the top of the hunt so here we go Davie Baer on course making its way through the steeper top section and lining up a big draw up it Davi bid sending it back into the cool west stomping like it ain't no thing really solid leagues from the Alaskan style master yeah that was great he found the perfect spot on that Slough cone to give himself the transition again lining up the angles Davey Baird knows what he's doing he knows how to find those landings and you know if he gets into the air it's gonna look good because he is the master of the tweak yeah just like that you cold it and then it happened making his way down the look his left side of the venue quite a ways away from where the other guys Road and vying for his track so far yeah this is definitely a completely different line he's over on the other side of the face a big air there for Davey is at the bottom of the face really interested to see what the judges are gonna do with this in terms of lines go just buttering out that's what kind of what I was talking about a little bit earlier the riders are having fun up there they're making it look fun the judges love it when it looks fun because it's more fun to watch so tonight Davey knows buttering down the bottom and chucking in another one here as well just so casual he's got those absolutely on a look oh action that bout it massive face shot there it's really hard for a rider to ride through snow like this and not give themselves a face shot because it just feels so right so Davey Baird looking pretty happy with that one he chose a completely different area of the of the face he hit transition on that one absolutely perfectly finding the the magic spot there so just a heads up on these judging criteria factors we we have a video judge who's putting those up those are not reflective of the scores the scoring judges are not in charge of that thing that is a a tool for us to help the viewers out there understand what they're seeing so look at that Neal Davey Baird with a 78 flat dropping into first place currently with that run the judge is obviously liking what they saw first and I liked it - grabbing almost all of his head see a little bit of a hand drag on one of them but overall starting from a steeper higher start I think doing quite well for a school landing in that Slough cone - alright so back up to the top Blake ham again he's been on the podium this year Blake look until to secure his spot in Verbier and next year he has had a great season so far and such a fun guy to spend time with he's always got a great attitude he's always got a smile on his face really you know he's just such a such a an amazing human and also an incredible snowboarder so strong and stable that's right I think he was also unlucky have missed out on that recap of who isn't the title hunt because he's been doing so good this season it could be there to switch 180 half-cab off the top feature first want to trick that oh yeah and a big three there from Blake making his way through this technical section up on top and he's gonna move move his way into this technical couloir sort of section as he as he finds his way over to some of the more riders right feature another 180 there Blake Ham really bringing the Freestyle here yeah that's right similar line to John Powell and Ludo so far but different hits same area getting lots of hits tricking most of them and join the powder in another 360 backside 360 off that second-to-last hey I wonder if he'll hit the same bottom features that other snowboarders we've had so far today it looks like he is going to he's approaching it finding his way in as Blake Ham clean on the landing there that's gonna be a solid run for Blake him he should be happy with that that looked like fun this this riders left section I heard some of the riders or some of the athletes calling it the playground and I love that name for it because there's just so many opportunities so here we go line fluidity control air and style through the roof their technique add a tire Blake ham having a really solid crack at this menu rope around the in from Blake count will be really interested to see how that compares to Davies I think that other people that have ridden that side of the venue it's probably gonna be the highest score and that would put him in first or second for me Davies running overall I think more complete than Blake's here but Blake putting everything straight to his feet no hand down nothing so I wouldn't want to be a judge right now - amazing runs to compare yeah I'm happy to leave that decision-making to the judges those guys know what they're doing they know what they're looking at and one thing that I know for sure is that Blake Ham enjoys that he definitely gave it his all a little bit of freestyle of an attack a little bit of everything there for young Blake Blake am black hem they call them really stepped it up this year he's been snowboarding so well super impressed with its free riding both in and outside of competition and nervously awaiting the score here so Davey Baird holding it down in the hot seat right now waiting to see what the judges have to say about Blake's run definitely going to be going to be some tough judging choices here on this face as we have some some quite different features different aspects of it here also they loved it blake ham 81 3 3 he's gonna knock devi out of the hot seat currently dropping him into first place that's right blake him he is gonna be absolutely psyched with it i think that is almost a guaranteed podium now due to the reduced stylist that we have hits day we only have three more riders coming up so if all of them beat him he won't podium but if any of them do not be that tough score of 81 and blake hams looking at a podium here today in andorra it is that Latino oculi showdown the crunch time before he hit on to the VA riders up there in the starcade sammy Lukey he is your reigning freeride world tour champion he has won the Tour overall three times and he wants a piece of it again he is dropping from that high start number one very technical and super steep up there Sammy Lukey making his way into the center section of that and getting up on top of this massive cliff sick run through there really cool to see Davi beard the only person to start from the SMU looki taking a different option from Davi and earring into the technical rocky section and then backing it up with a nice air coming over to the look is right side the playground as you call it yeah big transfer there some of the riders were wondering if you were gonna be able to move over from that more technical start into the playground section to add a little bit of freestyle into a more big mountain themed run and Sammy Lukey proving that absolutely you can and things are looking good for our champion right now strong legs lots of features as a super solid run so far we can the grab to showing the David isn't the only guy that can tweak grabs that hard the Tahoe local absolutely charging down here taking a different line off the bottom and grabbing that one too little bit of a washout unfortunately reverting taking another ear like it ain't no thing I wonder how the judge is gonna see that there was such a complete line little bit of a control issue at the bottom yeah what a pitch out fast and furious as soon as Sammy reverted there from switch he was off another error he had that absolutely packed with features and really cool I like the way he transferred from the extremely steep and technical upper section over into the playground zone and said some riders wondering if that was gonna be possible so look at the line score in the fluidity Sammy looped he just throwing it down there he is the champ use been the champ three times he knows exactly how to get it done here he did have a little revert to switch I don't think he went down though and I really like the angle he took on that there's a little bit different from the from the way Jonathan and Davi took it and so yeah really stoked to see what the judges are gonna see but I really enjoyed watching that run there from Tammy Lukey yes a me grabbing almost all of his head good variation in the grabs as well and these mutes methods as well we just see that little bit of a washout and a hand down the landing so I would say for me that was similar to Davey's line in terms of overall score really great complete pleasure to watch but that control issue heading hams a little bit hard and 61 points of Sam you look he's sitting at first at the moment meaning a guaranteed podium for play camp that'll be disappointing for Sammy but I believe he is already qualified for Verbier in Phoenix you had the defending champ oh yeah Sammy's looking good and now we are back up to the top our Spanish rider the local wildcard Thomas rich he has been shredding recently and he's been enjoying some of those spring conditions days as he's rallied around with the freeride world tour pack those guys all a big family and it's it's awesome to see them just bring him into the fold you know obviously the guy is a shredder he's here well carted into the freeride world tour so we know he's he is capable and his run is underway now Thomas rich on course the local snow but instructor from here and Audino our Calise i think he might have been one of the only athletes that was happier that the competition didn't run the other day because he couldn't make face check because he was working so nice that he's had time to check this face and he's already charging down at two years already and time I've been talking yeah two strong features there buttering around that that 180 and now he is into this middles playground section where he's gonna be looking to add a few features to his line Thomas rich getting the Halle shot there look at that magic snow the way the powders just hanging in the air for Thomas says he adds another feature to this run yeah when the snow moves out of the gate and making his way see several different features that no one else has heard getting fresh landings this one already David beard is hope Thomas enjoying it just as much this has been a good run so far smooth pretty fast it took the fluid it'll be really high and and the creativity hitting lots of different features getting an ear as often as he can and join that POW on the way to the dot the dot on the bottom allying all of the rollovers yeah I like that little roller transfer there at the very bottom you know just showing his local knowledge knowing where all those mystery poppers are and keeping things looking fluid and a looking super fun there so thomas rich I really like this top pair of his that one looks look super clean and they even see the snow is deposited in the land in their most three pumpers I like that mad with the sparkly POW experience with the mystery poppers it has been a pleasure to watch this guy the second time he's been look wild carded onto the the local stop for him out of Spain but loving working here and Endora Thomas rich how is he going to do today I want to be a judge right now there's been a lots of really creative lines kind of packed in the 70s and 80s or at the moment we have in the hot seat still Blake ham Kenny knock him out looking at either a verdure a second if he can maybe a first and that could completely upset things if Victor del Oro takes the word because in David beard would still be in the top three but actually if it becomes second and Davies and the top three then uh-huh Wow the math is too complicated for me I'm gonna leet leave that to the guys behind the scenes but Thomas rich third at the moment sitting behind Blake ham and Davey beard possible podium as Victor Delarue doesn't knock him out other 1771 six seven there that is a really really strong run there for the local wild card thomas rich has to be feeling pretty good about that as i'm sure are all the local shredders who know thomas and are cheering him on here at the finish area here freeride world tour stop number four in andorra or dino are caliz we have one man left at the top neal but do not underestimate him because not only is he just one man he is the man victor dealer ooh about to get on course he is the last guy to ride out of the snowboarding category today because we have three guys and they're not gonna stop for a mix of entries and personal reasons so if Victor wins he is the freeride World Tour champion if he comes second he is not necessarily because it looks like David beard is gonna be in the top three so a1 here today would mean a title for him in his first year on the freeride world tour of course he can still take the title with podium and Verbier but whether he can finish things off here today and make the victory lap on the big de Ross the thing or not we are about to see the victor lap yeah I'm sure he would love that but right now he still has to get it done here Victor is in the starcade he's been looking intently at this face for a few days now the Sun is out the snow has reset he is psych he wants to get it done here but of course if he takes it to Verbier he's gonna be happy with that - as he he does enjoy shredding the back but right now it's all about Andorra and it's all about Victor de LaRue as he starts his campaign off so Victor's in the road coming out of the lookers right start gate the same section we saw at the first snowboard is going into and his compatriot out of France little guy oh dear taking that one super deep and putting it straight to his feet which is good because he had to ride around some rocks straight after so fast through the sections spinning there as well really impressive run from the potential freeride world to a chap in the Yellowbird Victor is absolutely flying he's got the heat he's got the intent he wants that to her title locked down today and he is showing it look how fast he's going he's more than 3/4 of the way down the venue toe side carve there and he's coming into this bottom air with some heat we're gonna see if he could pull it off yeah stomp and a little bit of a hand down maybe I'm not really sure I probably see that on the replay but putting in a nose buddy on the bottom a nice Indy grab before that last feature ollieing off all the rollers like you see it making it look like he is having fun now the nose buddy down the bottom just so cool calm confident and stylish because guys and girls at home you know that if he crashed it wouldn't matter for his score so the amount of confidence he has himself and himself - back to do those tricks at the bottom Wow it's cool hopefully EDD is shown and his judging criteria control a little bit down for that hand regular part of it literally an errand style yeah through the roof there Victor threw it down he went so fast it's no wonder the fluidity is off the charts and then of course that massive three that he threw across hail cross court there Victor de la rue with showing his intent I like this grass cap the transition on that one was perfect and he definitely and then this one we just maybe had a little bit of a bobble it's just a slight washout maybe it was a slash hard to say but I'm sure the judges know so now it is in their hands we're still looking at Blake ham sitting in the hot seat Victor de la route anxiously waiting for the judge's decision we'll see what they had to say about that one it was an exciting run for sure definitely exciting are we about to see a free ride will to a champion crown my kiss would be no because of that control issue he had on his last year a little bit of a hand track I don't know if his boat went down that's kind of the difference between a small score reduction and a larger school reduction but I think that my guess would be we're about to see Blake am take one and Victor take a podium which could still put him on the top of the freeride world tour depending on the result of Davy beard in the end and a semi love key so exciting times here as we wait for the score of the current leader Victor deliver yeah as you said there's a lot of numbers to crunch a lot of math to do and that is beyond our scope here Neil in the booth but we have great people on that and they know what they're looking at but right now it's up to the judges the judges are calculating we talked a little bit with some of the athletes and a couple of the judges talking about the compressed nature of this venue it's going to be critical for the athletes to be absolutely clean everything's gonna have to be clean if you want to be if you want to be on the top of that podium today because it is kind of you know it's compressed as short and the features are super close together so the riders that are clean are gonna be the riders that are successful today exactly like you said we want to link as many features we want to see the riders linking as many features as possible riding fast and smooth like Victor just did the judge is taking the time to make sure they get it right well Blake enjoys his time in the cross call hot seat so control a little bit down it was a scene from a few riders but fluidity and Aaron style super high cross call phone sponsor of the freeride world tour made for harsh outdoor conditions like the ones we face here so Victor Delarue second seventy nine point three three is Davi being in third because that would mean that has just picked a victor from not taking the world to a title here today but Blake ham with the one victor Diller oh and second what a show from the snowboard guys here today unreal that was a spectacular way to get things started in Andorra and Blake Ham with the win it's definitely his first win this year I'm gonna have to look back through the history book to see if it's first if it is his first win on the tour but that's a really exciting Dave therefore for Black ham as he is gonna be standing on top of the podium and you know he's gonna be happy about that Wow there we go Oh Blake ham and first I think it is his first world tour when certainly not first of all to a podium victor DeLauro taking the second spot meaning that hoes david beaters in third it is still possible David to take the world title depending on the result in Verbier but those guys would definitely be going to the finals Thomas rich taking forth little gear dff Jonathan pin field sex and Sam you lucky seven so Thomas voice Dana Christopher Kelvin and geeky worth not competing today due to a mix of injuries and personal reasons but quite the show from there's no cool guys yeah I I was excited before and I just got a whole lot more excited because that just stoked me straight up the street there the the snowboarders just throwing it down and really showing us what's possible alright so we're gonna see here the connotations and implications here on the overall Victor de leur who's still holding on but Davey Baird closing the gap a little bit there 6160 Blake ham now moving himself into third overall heading into Verbier and look at the score difference how close it is between Davy and Blake it's now this snowboard men's category is wide open heading into Verbier yeah that's right brick to De La Rue holding onto the yellow tube heating to Verbier just as you are saying his older brother took home a win on that face or more than one I believe he's a bit of religion there so looking to repeat that keeping it in the family and when they would certainly give him the world to a title Davy beard those still in the hunt for his first ever World Tour title great run from here today Blake ham taking home the one and I think that Sammy look he is now out of the race of the Brad world to a title the defending champ he's had three in a row still looking to get in the top three overall but today I think that wasn't his strongest around it won't be his favorite form the season but you can never count Samuel okay out in Verbier no not at all his runs in the last few years have been incredible the huge ears and full-on stomps that he's done as well as tricks on the big Duras it's crazy stuff alright so snowboard men done in the books fantastic show we are gonna be heading right back up to the top next to check out the ski mens action these guys are all hungry for it everybody wants a spot on the podium that's right the scheme in another category with someone could take home a world 2a title today and it is Marcus beater top six will almost certainly guarantee him a will to a win and even top 12 I believe depending on the results of the other riders but of course our World Tour champion reigning champion Kristopher turtle he wants it he is the champ and you know he's capable of as a result with a win here he can keep his title hopes alive that's right Craig Murray out of New Zealand really strong hits and the first two comps but unfortunately going down and breaking his foot and be run and then the ski boss and the rookie Tanner Hall and Tom Piper kind of locked in that battle for the third place overall Tanner Hall been throwing the freestyle tricks he's hungry to do something huge and Tom Piper blending a little bit of new-school freestyle with that old-school pure free rider charge eNOS both of those guys looking to lock down third place but we are only going to be able to see one of them in that spot so right now we are heading back up to the top of the face here in Andorra to get started with our ski men paregoric starting things off today I'm a Navarro the almost local living and skiing just outside of here and the Spanish Bernays we have of course and the Andorran Pyrenees McHale Bimbo's to first place from last year looking to get his first podium here this year Tom pipe like you're saying at the top with Tanner Hall and the Rankin's leo slam at will to a champion from a couple years ago used to sake the Japanese wild card tan of the ski boss he's no introduction Liam Piper also looking to get a good result today and qualify himself for next year drew tabaqui Marcus cedar well it's a pretty stacked build we got here today oh yeah Marcus cedar definitely he he's hungry for Christopher Tyrell though he's got a he's got something to say about that Andrew Pollard fresh off a podium finish in Hebron looking to back that up here in Andorra Berkley Patterson Rookie of the Year last year you know he wants it Carl Ragnar Eriksson another guy who would love to have a good result here to lock himself in for Verbier Griffin molar he has had such a string of bad luck and he wants to throw it down he wants to show everybody and really show himself how awesome he is we know how good Griffey is he's had he's been on the podium in the freeride world tour before his skis have been have been abandoning him early in some of his runs but Griffin molar definitely has the skills and then we've got a whole raft here of DNS as Rainey borrowed for personal reasons not going to start today Craig Murray out with the heel injury Yan Rusty's with the knee injury sustained in kicking horse Fabio scooter not quite able to lock down hit you know again a knee injury and yonder max bode wrong with a knee injury he had a a warm-up from this morning and just decided it wasn't a go for him which is really unfortunate as I was looking forward to seeing you on ski today yeah that's right both yawns out with knee injuries unfortunately narrowing down the skiing means fields to only 15 competitors today we've had a lot of injuries this season unfortunately people out from all sorts of categories and Big Ups to them looking forward to getting you back next season shoutouts to the guys who were not able to start the season either based on injuries constant nur Sam Lee Hank Billis in Avon malikov amongst those other riders that we've already named so just about to get things underway and the skiing main category the first guy we're gonna have on course today is about eight gorrik yeah Mike's been skiing around throwing massive backflips on the the riders have a bit of a hit lap on the backside here at at arc Elise and he has been throwing it down he's definitely gonna be looking to add one of those in here vladyka gorac rider out of france he's gonna be the first man out of the gate here in the ski men's field and he is off Radek Oregon course it's done from the look his lifts start to stiva more technical still the playground at least of a playground skiing the same line as Sammy look yet the snow what is so far taking that one deep yeah making the most of that freeride world tour top up as he heads his way over into this section you can see they've got some features blocked off there I didn't wanna go blue that's what we were hoping to see from our doc he has been like I said he's been throwing those all week long I guess as practice yeah that's right and taking this one deep as well so far started gosh-darn medic no one else has even looked at that in the venue year and just sending it full line it's a downhill takeoff as well that is not easy to flip looking so strong giving himself a couple of fist bumps as he rides out just psyched psyched to have put down the run that he wanted to do hasn't been exactly his season so far and he is super stoked to be in the finish line first skier of the day with an amazing run he's psyched that's how you start a show out there folks that was unbelievable looking back up at the face from where he took off to where his bomb hole is his landing hole with that backflip that was huge we knew we were gonna see creative lines on this face Neal and there it was wada korrok he got himself started off strong in that really technical upper zone a nice here nice area here into that super soft patch and then this boom just dumping it nice race powerful skiing a little bit firm for landing and just putting it four points two bolts as you say yeah what a cork he is a strong man and he is showing that all that training all that time in the gym is paying off so 80 points right out of the gate there for what Agora that is a fantastic score he's gonna be happy with that yeah that's right throwing a nice backflip in the kick Nicole is the first stop that he managed to come to after not making to haka but with injuries so only three comp runs for three results out of four doesn't get a throw away that guy that's right so we're back up to the start here with Mr Navarro he is the man around here he is from Spain he skis out of bekata but at but he is loved beloved here in Andorra I've been skiing with him the last couple days and people are taking selfies with him in the lift lines they love him everyone loves to hang out with Aimar Navarro around here he's a bit of a local hero and he is looking to make his mark on this face I'm are he is known for high speed he's known for really creative and crazy lines in in the freeride world tour and I'm are Navarro is oh he is dropping around the back from start one that's right I'm a Navarro having a scary crash here in the competition in 2015 as a well-cut coming back in 2017 also as a wild-card and taking home a podium result now dropping straight into a technical section of the face really cool drop in there oh that was exactly what we've come to expect from minor Mr Navarro a massive start to his run as he aired into that technical shoot and then turned it into a double and I'm are sending the same drop there as well haddock this is looking like a strong run super direct really straight fall on an ultra-high-speed I'm are carving off the face or across the face in the powder and looking to get into this final feature we're gonna see what I'm our Navarro has for us off of this massive hit stump legs stomp town from this guy Raina Bakke read cannot join us here today so I'm on a virus stepping into his shoes the junior marathon town coming up in a tree I'm on a borrowed that top move so amazing not to mention the rest of it I want to see a replay of all of it because I don't think we got quite the angle to do it justice airing into the exposure right off the ridge I'm I must be pretty stoked right now oh that was such a strong way to start his run that is extremely extremely technical and exposed you saw him disappear look at the fluidity there I'm are absolutely pinned top to bottom you saw him disappear from the Stargate to move around to the back section and it's kind of funny because you don't see him for a second and then all of a sudden he popped up on top of that which kind of looked like it wasn't really aligned but of course I'm Marv Navarro sees the mountain differently than the rest of us and he saw that and he turned that that really scary section into a super clean and fluid double yeah that was amazing this top section oh gosh if you fold there it is not gonna end well so just showing us how to lace the fluid technical big mountain line I'm really still trying to find a line like that in the space seventy two point three three for him sitting and sticking at the moment give him the sideways head wigglies not sure if he's happy with it I would be proud of it man that was an amazing run yeah and it was cool around here to see the crowd just erupt when he hit that feature like I said he is beloved in these parts I'm are Navarro a bit of a hero around here and showing us showing us why with that run so we we are straight back up to the top here nail with Mikkel buboes Miguel Bimbo's just about to start he won and to the last two events last year to go from almost not qualifying to Verbier to winning to Verbier competition and coming seeking overall on the freeride world tour so Miguel Bimbo's on course from the technical start on the lookers lifts which there's no surprise to me and getting into the same section as I'm a Navarro but not from the top ridge line drop so far yeah so McHale making his way now across and a huge backflip from McHale Bimbo's he is looking to start things off with a bang as he heads over as we said from the technical start over into the playground area McHale Bimbo's adding his little freestyle Flair it's not necessarily always his his characteristic style but maccarrol Bimbo's showing that he is a versatile athlete here in Andorra that's right me Kelvin Bo's more of a big mountain charge usually likes to ski hard and fast you see those long skis and big feet which helps him ski the moguls but competed with him in New Zealand a few years ago it needs a backflip every single run the four competitions that he attended so no stranger to freestyle even though he prefers charging ears like that yeah boss going deep on that one landing right next to that Bush that we saw we saw Davie Baer door I think maybe Jonathan Penfield ollying over so that is gonna wrap things up for bimbos he proved once again that you can make it from the upper technical start over to the playground zone and a big backflip in bimbel's run as I said he's got it in his bag of tricks we don't always see it because he's usually going so fast so good to see that versatility line fluidity control air and style all looking good their technique a slight bit down and share with the judges saw maybe a little something there technique as we described in the judging criteria ultra important as the rest of it is not really possible without great ski technique yeah as you're saying showing his versatility really leery backflip here laying it out showing patience and style in the air it's really cool little bit of a hand on that last air but I don't think Ella her to score too much pretty solid the video judge Danny for now prep the local guy saying those techniques a little bit down maybe to do with that lack of control in Atlantic and he told them Bose sixty seven point six seven at the moment with the back on the face and Christopher on the level has been high so far oh yeah and all of these guys they want it so right now we are looking at water correct with 80 points sitting in first I'm are Navarro 72 33 and McHale Bimbo's who we just saw there on a 67 67 we are looking at an incredibly strong field of riders and right now speaking of strong riders Tom Piper he is a rookie on the tour but he sure hasn't been skiing like one this year that's right so I'm Piper pardoning his good even free I'd go to a competition and Hakuba sitting pretty qualifies Verbier next year right now but that's not gonna satisfy him he wants it all he wants the win he is here to charge every single day and today is no exception I wonder if he's gonna go for the same transfer as bimbos yeah looking like he's on a bit of a similar path here as he makes his way across a nice clean air therefore Tom as we see the heli pick him up for a second and the same air but with a big three there saucy little move for Tom Piper's he's making his way now into the playground zone so far looking strong for Tom yeah charging through the section the rookie out of Canada out of Whistler you coached him for six years I believe and I'd be proud if I was you right now sending that one deep oh yeah Tom pie for looking good he's got that characteristic style he likes to charge but he's got the Freestyle element over the last air beside the bush and Tom pie for clean on those edges showing that control and adding another one of those sneaky little mystery rollers there to his line at the bottom keeping things fast furious and clean the little little girls up cheeky little straight legged cross up there yeah became his signature in Japan I mean he was skiing through the bushes all right so line and fluidity looking really good control Erin style and technique slightly lower we're gonna see if that challenge is lada Keswick right now the only man who skied who's skied in that section with a trick so far so Tom Piper we're gonna see what the judges thought about that yeah solid from the young Canadian they're styling it out really nice shifty believe he had a trick a little bit later as well just losing him in the heli angle they have it popping the three looking good starting it out on the way it's around Shifty's and threes just look super sick for me little bit backseat beard not too bad or nothing to put a hand down with bush bush bunk at the bottom as well looking to get into that hot seat with etiquette goreck is currently occupying right now I think that if anything hurt these guys scores the width before Tom and after verdict it was a little bit of loss of control so I wouldn't even say lost control is just not perfect and on a small compressed venue like this I think the judges need something like that to separate these scores so describing this phone out seeing if he's got any more Instagram followers based on that run it was pretty sick I wouldn't be surprised if he heads but waiting for a school right now Tom Piper it's pretty stacked in the scores right now when it will fit in yeah hard to say as you have said a few times really glad I'm not a judge the stacked field the talent level is so high and everybody's hungry so the judges have their work cut out for them but we know they're up where we've got a fantastic field the judges there we're seeing Vladek sitting in the hot seat he is he's pretty happy in that position and not gonna be looking to give it up anytime soon so Tom Piper with a six nine six seven that's gonna be good enough currently for third place but of course there are a lot of talented and hungry riders up at the top and this guy is one of the meal speaking of talented riders as you say we have Leo slamming and the Stargate right now storming back onto the world tour after missing the first stop due to an injury Vedek gorrik also missing the first stop dirty injury meaning that of the four stops only three results are there of course we take three results to see if these guys can qualify through Verbier in next year but not having the opportunity to throw away one of those results it's pretty tough but it's tough mentally but Lia sling with dealing with that well and taking a podium and fever run so excited to see what he heads for us here today it's a little bit flat not light now compared to how the other riders were skiing or wonderful to have an effect so Leo with a 360 right out of the gate heading over there and adding a couple features he's definitely upping his future count as he heads down into the zone 360 they're off the same one we saw Tom hit a little bit earlier but a very different approach into that section for Leia and another 363 360 so far he's only halfway down the top of the face treating us to that freestyle show that we thought we might see especially in the playground section the look is right but now going back to the free ride style stomping down on that top lip before making his way quickly to this bottom here as a double yeah leo slamming approaching this one that's been a bit of a classic landing right next to the bush absolutely solid their layouts lemon lighting things up on the bottom half of this venue with some classic freeride style and adding the Freestyle at the top so it really is all about the blend here for Leo's limit he has been the freeride World Tour champion before you know he's got those banger runs in him if he wants to be on the podium here and back up what he did in fever groan yeah there was a super solid run for someone that missed the first competition during the entry I love that he came off the top with this tank sorry must an ankle injury to the first stop and three three sixes are saying straight off the top so fast on this one it wasn't super poppy so just having to go extremely quick to get off the ground there yeah and he took that one deep a lot of guys have been landing and then skipping over the bush lay landing beside the bush he found his trajectory exactly right on that one took off a little higher and was able to find the landing that that allowed him to stomp that one super clean Laius limit hopefully he's gonna be happy with that run so the 2017 freeride world to a champion leo slim at looking to get back on the podium looking to knock Vedek goring out of the hot seat and he does with in 91 he is gonna sit down in the cross school hot seat his fellow countryman vadik gorrik out of there for now they get a high-five it's a great sense of comradeship here on the freeride world tour but what a road from Leo's limit leo slam at finding that perfect blend of classic freeride and freestyle as he drops himself into the hot seat and the first man in the 90s today so back up to the top used to sake rider out of Japan basing himself in Revelstoke in Canada like lately he has he's had a podium already this year he wants another one for sure used to sake looking to kick things off here kick his run off here in Endora we are looking to get under way with you Sasaki as soon as he is ready to drop that's right.you Sasaki winning to Tuesday and popular in 2017 winning goes restock this year being wild card onto the freeride world tour as a result good friends with Thai speakers know he who is also doing well in Hakuba the last couple years and on the freeride were to a boutique to peak performance really stylish ski is that like creative lines and shifting that one out we're taking their landing pretty deep in this left going yeah for sure definitely looking like he found some impact there used to sake now getting into a really creative zone I haven't seen too many athletes in here oh you saw sake putting a hand down there that is unfortunate as as as we said it's going to be a game of bobbles here and used to sake off the same air as we saw a decora go off in I'm our Navarro and then coming the other direction there with the grab use looking good yeah really stylish right I wonder that light is affecting his skiing at the moment because it's not quite as sunny as it was before when we saw the original athletes right but this guy finding something super creative and transferring all the way over that big bushy rocky gap really cool to see something so original from the Japanese rider yeah I like that section and I did wonder earlier if anybody was gonna go over there you know there are so many options but once you choose the direction on this face you're pretty much committed to staying on that side so definitely you know it forces the athletes to make a decision early on and then once they choose the side of course there that's where they're they're going so that was cool to see use the first guy in that zone today so you into the finish Corral now showing us his trademark speed and style nice top ear but this one super creative a little bit tough to find I think he Clips a rock on landing there meaning that he washes out a little bit bit of a butt shake which is probably gonna hurt a score you saw the control bar was down on the judging criteria but styling out on that one grabbing it and seaming this one at the bottom that super cool transfer that we like so much I like that and I think I think you did too it just kind of looked like it was a fun one looks like it was an appealing air to hit you know riders on this venue especially there's a I'm happy to see just from a decision-making standpoint so far we've seen the riders avoiding the flat landings for the most part that shows the hey take care yeah it has the smart the smart riders they care about their knees use of sake 61 points sitting him and six at the moment but the top three leo slamet coming back from what new world - a 2017 is 91 points very at gorrik looking to qualify for the free edwards were files in Verbier and for next year 80 and the local legend armor Navarro not out of endor but skiing a lot out of Andorra have how about legions and we've got another one right up there speaking of legends Tanner Hall right now he is sitting up high in the standings for the overall he's been on the podium so far this year and Tanner Hall looking to back it up we're missing yonder Michael drama because of the knee injury so right now it is the ski boss Tanner Hall making his way to him from that high start one that's right Tanner was psyched this morning had a bit of a chat with him is he'd like to get on the compet rubriz sometimes say hi and what up to the world so shoutouts to whoever is planning to shout out - he's got a great entourage traveling with them a really positive group of stylish skiers and friendly people styling out themselves so if I night shift yeah Tanner Hall floating a big three there and making his way across court into the playground Tanner Hall kind of we're always expecting to see some freestyle wizardry from this man and so far we are seeing it Tanner Hall making his way through into this lower section of the playground yeah floatie live three at the top couple of shifties and nice creative is through here knows what a three is well liking it nothing above exposure to ski boss doing this thing fluid keeping it fast definitely trying to find all the options as he gets oh so close to that Bush and unfortunately for Tanner washing out on the landing throwing a little breakdancing moved there the backspin as Tanner makes his way down that's too bad he was definitely on a bit of a heater good to see you know he looks like he's up and okay that landing has claimed a few victims so far today Neil I think I think there's a sweet spot and if you're outside of that sweet spot it's really hard to keep things keep things together there yeah that's right a few people landed the old radio which doesn't make it easier either getting into the air and seeing you might land on or next to a bush probably doesn't help Tanner putting their hands up saying that he had a good time but unfortunately I bought him yet not working out for him also being a little bit more east-facing I think that part of the landing gets a bit more Sun which might mean that's a little bit harder underneath even though it has that fresh snow on top but Tanner super-stylish smooth shifty at the top I like this floaty live 3 as well great style from the guy that we expect it from style over everything that's what Tanner said to me the other day that is his mantra that's how he lives his life and he loves it so Tanner Hall dropping a 42 that's going to put him into seventh spot currently unfortunately going down there on that last error as we said it's claimed a few you got to find your transitions and you gotta hit him perfectly on this venue if you want to stay on your feet at the finish line that's right but 10th hole is super impressive runs in Japan and Canada landing on the podium and Haku but I think it will have him with us in yeah so we are back up to the top liam Pifer twin of Tom Piper these guys qualifying in the same year both coming out of the Whistler freeride Club both with that classic kind of blend of big mountain style and freestyle trickery Liam Piper he's hungry for he's hungry for podium hungry for a good finish here and he is going to start things off moving over to the skiers left-hand side that's right so Liam starting out of the lookers right-hand Stargate Tom started out of the left one going for the 360 off the top exactly the same as Leo slim it did and it worked out pretty well for Leo so wisest choices so far from liam pi/4 looking to get a result to put him in the top 13 and qualify himself be a top 12 sorry yeah so with another three there right now he is he's trying to equal layouts limits record on this venue of three 360s right now liam sitting on two same arrow to the top and there we go three three six he's from Liam yeah Liam for how many 360s can a rider do on this venue Liam making his way around he is so far looking at a very similar run to what we saw from Leo slamming Liam with a three liam Peiffer throwing it down the first man to throw a 360 and unfortunately for him that is gonna do it he had a heater of a run going yeah Liam - I'm super sorry to see that he is as well throwing his poles he's not a happy chappy right now I was so stoked to see him spin there and he went so big on it as well going past the ball holes of guys are just straight eared not a super happy camper right now but that's how it goes sometimes man you put it down you put it on the light and I'm so stoked to see that man I hope that it works out for you I hope that you get to join us in Verbier but you've shown us that you have what it takes to do like that Liam that was such that was such a shame I mean he he had three 360s already he was going for the record on the course that was a massive one and unfortunately landing right in that same spot that's just so firm and really hard to hold onto a bunch of people already landed there unfortunately for Liam he had a heater going but going down on that final air but definitely you can say for Liam Peiffer there he went down swinging yeah absolutely putting it straight to his feet on that last landing but I think that that landing is pretty hard so putting it to his feet past the other bottom holes but the the firmness of that land and getting the better of him losing a pole and chuck in the other one so he might have to grab one of those before we can competition or both of them acquiesce probably both so we have seen an incredible level of riding here on this face in Andorra or do you know our Kelis bringing the heat for us and Mesquite Mansfield doing exactly what we expected them to do throwing down so compressed venue but certainly no shortage of things to do for our riders on his face that's right and someone that can make the most of transpose is Drew Tabb he's in the stockade right now and he's about to see them at you I wonder which one of them a little - yeah drew Utah he has he has really made a name for himself on the freeride world tour for ultra creative transfers he's always looking at things and in a way that other people just don't see he's kind of got that side he'll cross sport features and and you know he'll throw a trick in in a place where other people kind of are even afraid to go drew tacky-looking to to put his trademark signature on this face here in in Dora or Dino our Klee so like we said we're just waiting for for our ski runner to come and pick up Liam suppose he dropped it when he had that that's savage craft on the 360 so drew table he's just gonna put himself on hold in a holding pattern in the Stargate as we as we wait for the face to be ready for him and I'm pretty excited there would see Laius lemon year 2017 freeride World Tour champion and he is currently sitting in the number one spot with that run full of freestyle Flair and big mountain classic riding his turns they're lighting up the judges as they really like to see that blend of those two styles so drew tacky patiently waiting going through his routine start gate routine super important for these athletes they need to get themselves into that mental zone where they can perform they can perform things that are are unimaginable for the rest of us but that's Stargate routine absolutely critical for them to be able to to drop in and do things that basically are terrifying able to join for personal reasons right now grabbing the pole from the Empire at the moment got one of the ski boots one of the ninjas as we call them headed down to grab the forum so that other people landing and that popular bottom landing will not be hung up on Liam's Pole so drew tab key and start gate ready to roll ready to see what he's got for us Dave a little bit of flat light on the venue at the moment unfortunately yeah I think currently it's it's still skiable you know the the riders showing that they can they know where they're going they're able to see well enough to to get their runs off but we do have a little bit of fog or a little bit of cloud moving in and out but the riders definitely so far not seeming like it's it's affecting their runs yeah the concentration and determination showing right through here it's not always easy with the conditions being a little bit variable Snow's good light not always good snow a little bit variable some of those landings not a not perfect especially one of the most popular ones looks like it has got a little bit firm but now we have one of our ski who's one of our local volunteers and ninjas grabbing the pole of Lee and Piper and huge shout out and thanks to those local legions for volunteering and making this event go off because I don't think we could do it without them no that's right these guys are the lifeblood of these events and and everywhere we go the locals the volunteers are basically getting getting our events off the ground they're making it happen they're volunteering and and I think a lot of them are really just super proud to showcase their their local resorts in their local mountains and and also stoked to be involved with the free ride world tour which I completely understand because I feel the same way yeah me too drew Tab key a long time mainstay at the fred will - at home here and velma elise his run last year was unbelievable he also speaks spanish they love him here so do we and he is on course yeah chop he coming in super fast here and doing a big transfer across from the upper technical section into the playgrounds on drew taffy making his way down and massive there across into the playground that was huge from drew tacky yeah drew tab give the slavi turns I love the way he floats them and lining up this one here with the 360 stomping it really clean landing I love the sky style grabbing that he said straight away after wait she's just so composed yeah Jude tadka he is long and strong drutok you taking that one huge and getting deep into his his travel there of his suspension drew to a key making a very short work of this menu here in Andorra linking all the features together getting some hang time off those mystery poppers as you call them no quite the sunny sparkly Powell experience but still drew tabaqui the fluidity and technique ride out there on the judging criteria yeah that was a fast and furious run for junior tacky he was going in hot he wants to do well here do tap you looking a stamp his ticket into Verbier yeah love the way styles out those grabs as well big is a little bit of a running I have that one but still completely in control you can see after this 360 post it to bolts makes it turn straightaway to the next year before taking this one deep yeah and I like where he took off he took off a little bit higher and it allowed him to land a touch higher on the face which made it way smoother some of the guys that are taking off from that lower take off with the same speed as Drew had are just getting into that zone that's either a little bit as you said affected by the Sun and then the refreeze or possibly the fact that a whole bunch of people have landed there but whatever it is drew tab key traveler money spot and he was clean and green there right airline control Aaron style you know we had that 360 in there so we're gonna see what the judges thought about that but definitely drew tab key is at the bottom on his feet which is gonna be a huge bonus today that's right we've seen a couple crashes so far and the field has been reduced to I believe only 15 skiers so do tab key so far I think we are more than halfway through and he could land himself a pretty high score he has fourth place 71 points great runner from the style master from the transferrin ADA like he was saying he found the sweet spot net landing we're taking off a little bit higher and transitions what you want to be finding in this face alright so layout slamming holding it down in the hot seat right now with a 91 even wada Korach with that massive backflip sitting on 80 points and I'm are Navarro with the big mountain charging line right now in third place third place but here is a man who is looking to do some big things today if he finishes in the top six we believe he will be crowned freeride world tour champion he is starting from start to start - not gonna be surprised if we see Marcus leader go pure freestyle here today yeah that's right I've seen a backcountry freestyle at hot freeride by choice sometimes he can do so many styling things and so many exposed places and Barry is doing one of them but unfortunately going down oh gosh kind of scared me for a bit there there was a big floating flat three but almost looked like he was gonna land on rocks at one point yeah the angle that we had on that really made it look scary I hope that Marcus is okay looking at the track there it looks like he did land in snow so hopefully he's gonna be feeling all right after that one you know we want to obviously rider safety is the most important thing here on the freeride world tour we'll get another look at that and see make sure or see where he landed and what happened there but it looks like he's he's up and moving around he's just getting his ski back on that is unfortunate for Marcus because he was looking as we said if he finished in the top six he was guaranteed to be the freeride world tour champion here in Andorra we're gonna have to see what happens with Christopher Tyrell there is still a chance looking like he just didn't quite get the pop off that lip that he was hoping for yeah I think so maybe even losing his gold was there too or something's coming off his helmet but just like you said not kidding the pop that he was hoping looks like he has retrieved his ski now he's got both on the back on his feet just giving us things together before he skis down Marcus of course will Pro we not hurt any other features that is kind of the protocol it's the the I think you do after you have crashed if you have already lost a ski you've got no score there's no point wreaking takeoffs or landings for other riders but mark is just enjoying it a little bit on this way down here doing the 4runner kind of run where you just sure what the snows like and enjoy it on your way down yeah mark is showing us what he's got here with the big transfer of course he would not want to win the world tour by taking it easy today he would want to put down another run after two first and a second anniversary competitions he will still be sitting first going into the qualifications for Verbier as we take three of the four results that's right so not the run that Marcus eater was hoping for but he has been on such a run of good results and unbelievable unbelievable spectacular kind of showstopper runs he you know we know he's got it in him and Marcus Cedars gonna be taking it to Verbier we still remain to be seen how things are gonna shake out in terms of the overall we've got the we've got the Wizards behind the scenes working on numbers and nothing of course is gonna be locked down until the ski Mansfield is finished but Marcus seed are not gonna be finishing on top of the podium today unfortunately for him but I'm glad to see him smiling at the bottom and glad to know that he is okay that one's gonna be a no score as he did lose a ski so Marcus eater out of contention for the podium here today in Andorra remains to be seen what that does to the overall title implications but this man has something to say about that yeah that's right Tana didn't do a head it didn't podium today Tana didn't put down the round if he was talking to so Christopher - Adel as the guy that needs to win if you want to keep his championship defense behind yeah that's right so we're getting word that Christopher Tyrell is going to be heading off behind the peak as we saw with AI marre Navarro not sure if he's looking to make that same entry we're gonna see him pop into view pretty soon as he's just making his way behind the ridge there he is and now looking to get himself into his line in this ultra technical section Christopher - heard Dale starting things off with a bang throughout same top section as I'm out of borough and then a back look just like me called buboes we're combining those two amazing run so far and a 360 as well holy crap this guy is on a heater and he is looking to get on the podium and continue his chances I've taken on another freeride wheel to a victory over all that's right Christopher turtle needs to basically needs to stand on the top of the podium if he wants to keep his title hopes alive with Marcos falling that kind of all goes goes crazy but Christopher turned down taking it deep there and super clean that was possibly the fastest run or up there with the fastest runs we've seen ultra clean and really blending the Freestyle and the big mountain that was a really creative and super technical entrance and then straight into the backflip with 360 Christopher turned out doing what needed to be done here in Andorra amazing run from the total there wow that's gotta be on the podium for me if not first place the technicality of this top section doubling through that chute you cannot fall there it is no four zone and I think that make up a boast skip net so he could back foot this head and total managing to backflip that one as well so Christopher to Adel styling out the 360 crossing it up and that bottom he took it from above everyone else to about the same as you are now so stomping it super clean finding exactly the right transition yeah I really cool to see you know Christopher turtle able to be versatile there the way he hit that lip if he popped he would have taken it all the way into the flats you saw his legs just absorb the take-off enough to keep him on the trajectory he needed to hit that sweet spot in the landing that was really really strong strong move tactically for Christopher turtle to hit that air in that way and it worked out obviously in his favor as he was clean all the way I talked to bottom and now we put it in the judges hands we're gonna see what they thought of that relative to layouts Limits run who is currently holding down the hot seat I'd say it's gonna be close but we're gonna leave it to the judges that's right so Christopher total defending will to a champion potentially taking the hot seat off the 2017 world to a champion Leo slimmin and that opens things right up again as Marcus either could have won overall today with the top six result going down crashing losing a ski or opening the door a little bit just to crack the Christopher to Adele but Christopher $2 jamming his foot in there and saying it's going to be a fight to the we are going to go to Verbier to decide who was going to be the freeride world to a champion 2019 that's right he is the reigning freeride world tour champion for a reason Chris Richard L actually locked up his tour title at the second last stop last year so you know he knows how to get it done you know he wants it and he's definitely hungry here as he showed and he put a masterful plan together and executed it perfectly so Chris Richard L right now we're just nervously waiting to see what the judges had to say we saw layoffs limits run on the riders left side we saw Christopher Tyrell entering from the extremely technical top section that was the only other man who's gone through there is AI marre Navarro because L definitely adding a few little a few little spices to the stew in in his run so we're home man I just can't wait to see what the judges thought of that they're taking their time with it definitely tossing it around looking at the various aspects of it the judges know to roll when live scoring they want to get it right so it's good that they take the time to make sure that they get it where they wanted to be so ninety points because of the to Adele's second place at the moment just below Leo's limit the two three own world to a champion to the last two years hugging it out showing the sense of camaraderie they're amazing runs from these guys on the top three huge backflips technical lines it's been such a show so far today so last lement right now in the 91 Christopher turned out sitting on 90 and I think it was still whatta call right there holding down third spot it was that's right Sweden France France right now European podium at the moment but someone looking to change that Andrew Pollard coming off a podium and the last often favored Bruin 360 off the top you know something about this guy yeah a Paul he's got that alter style he's always kind of see him as as the the fresh-faced drew tab he's always looking at things just a little bit differently he calls them the mystery lines and he knows how to find them he's got that he's got that eye for the for the terrain that just lines that other people don't see and so far things are looking good for a Paul yeah really smooth solid faster on the fluidity must be super high as well as the earrin style coming into this bottom head at pace and styling that one out is - stomping it so perfectly making it look easy yeah that was a lasting run for Andrew Pollard they're looking clean he is a man who likes to have fun on the mountain when he's having a good time when he's skiing a line that he likes his style really shows through and that's been kind of his his taking it a little bit of a reset after Japan and kicking horse where things didn't go quite his way he he said to himself I just need to ski like myself and I need to ski the lines that I like instead of kind of trying to figure out what the judges want him to ski and so far that has been a successful recipe for Andrew Pollard as it landed him on the podium and fever Brune and this run here was absolutely clean he found he found transitions there and on this final air for we're gonna see it pretty soon here he definitely found the sweet spot in the landing as using there we go using those long legs and just dead clean stop there for Andrew Pollard on that bottom air that has been the cause of so many mishaps so far today yes right just looking so solid on the air Andrew Pollard April out of Utah fluidity and air and styled right up there coming through that whole section smooth Lincoln it lace in it together hitting as many features as he could sitting in 83 right now third place just knocking vadik gorrik off the podium damn dude Andrew pola looking at potentially two podiums in a row with three riders left yeah I'm just so happy to see Andrew Pollard embracing his own natural style and seeing it work out for him that's such a that's such a great thing to see so another man who's got his own natural style Berkley Patterson stylish rider last year's Rookie of the Year on the freeride world tour and looking to back that up this year he has he's had some really strong runs this year Berkley Patterson looking to lock down a podium spot that's right Berkley also spending off the top a little bit of a hand on that landing it's been a popular move that top 360 and we saw it from a couple of the top riders so wonder if Burke will join them up there in the podium contingent spots making his way through the spicy zone the picnic in the pocket pick if finding that pocket by earing straight off the rocky bushy section into the nice landing slightly more cut up now seen a few riders come down here now but Berkley making fast work of it with a huge three as well yeah Berkeley ad in the Freestyle here and another one right after the control that it shows to be able to hit that three and then land then turn right into another heir and Berkeley coming in high on this one taking it slightly cross-court unfortunately getting pushed onto his back a little bit for birth that's definitely going to affect the control score but I really like the way he linked out of that three into another feature straight away so solid he went massive and run and he's gone massive here as well it's really impressive skiing from the young American rider the rookie put it down big runs the ever want to hold back he's not one to ration the passion and he certainly hasn't done that here today yeah Berkeley kind of said once he's got a plan the plan is what's gonna happen regardless of what else is going on either in his head or on the face so Berkeley across here out of the gate with the three weed out we did see a little bit of a left hand down there kind of a you know early stage back slab taking a deep into the travel there and then this big three for Berkeley right onto the left ski and turning over to turn that into a bit of a double and then this one again getting just a little bit inside and a little bit behind body behind the feet there so Berkeley Patterson 64 33 that's gonna be good enough currently for ninth place not quite the run Berkeley was looking for there but definitely some exciting moments in that one yes right two big three is too big is Berkeley Patterson looking at a potential top ten I think three top tens is usually what gets you into Verbier and next year so it's looking good for him but looking even better the current standings top three guys we've got France Sweden and America that's right so Leo slamming holding it down Christopher turtle sitting in second and a Paul Andrew Pollard in third right now here's another man who wants a good result here Carl Ragnar Erikson he has been throwing flat fives off crazy small jumps he's got the skills and Carl Ragnar Erikson he's heading around the back we're gonna see him pop out and I think he might be heading into the same section as we saw Chris Porter Dale yep that's right and I'm on Evaro super smooth through their landing straight on the snow I think Kristen was a little bit close to the rocks in there Kyle laying out a massive backflip to straight to his feet such nice style and a 360 very similar run - Christopher - Adele so far yeah these guys they scoped together they hang out together they speak the same language and they definitely have you know slightly similar skiing styles right now Carl looking to to match the that we saw Christopher turned out throw down as he comes into this air nice and clean through there over onto the right foot and making his way towards the final feature he's going to take it from that more classic angle up high as he gets on to the other side of the bush and straight across right foot traveling over the bush there Carl right near Erickson that was looking like a strong run there for Carl yeah almost thought he was gonna three that bottom he almost looked like he was winding up he came into that bottom here and I thought he might have gone for the same thing that Liam Piper did but it could have been the same result as Liam Piper craft crashed it you know it's pretty firm landing to spin on to us BC view and landing exactly the right part of the but really solid smooth fast drive from carving near this top section look how gnarly and technical letters that is exposed and cut up now yeah and you're seeing as the you can see the way Carl's skis are moving around they're the new snow has been a little bit scraped off in that section as there's really not a lot of space in there so the couple of the riders taking very similar trajectory and it's definitely looking firmer than what it did before but Carl making short work of it and looking pretty happy here oh we've got a nice moment there between lance lemon and Marcus cedar as Leo still holding down the hot seat we're gonna see what the judges thought of Carl's run definitely combining the blend of freeride and freestyle super technical at the top and then straight into the backflip and the backflip straight in to the 360 definitely Carl packing that run with action so much composure holding it down for the Swedes Carl there's one of the suites who can't make it here today right in our backyard he would have been starting for the 55th time and the freeride world tour but Carl bring the Erikson fourth place right now eighty one point three three points he's got to be stoked with that so if I believe that's his best result this season yeah looking good that was a strong around for Carl and with only one man left at the top of the mountain Carl guaranteed to be in the top five here which is pretty much what he needed to do in order to move himself on to Verbier and next year on the freeride world tour now Griffon molar Griffon is the best gear without a result that I can think of this year he's had some tough luck but he is such a strong skier and he's always he's always so positive I love grifs attitude you know he's been making those sniper videos on Instagram when his skis come off he's you know he's able to laugh about it which is great you know because we we know what a great ski or Griffin is and we just want one you know awesome run out of grass yeah that's right storming through his rookie year last year Griffin mala is looking to repeat that now in the full-stop of the 2019 tour he is on course Griffin mother of course making the sniper videos as his skis came off unexpectantly in the last couple of stops and looking to start things off with the bank same as a few riders in clearance there currently to Leo's limit with a 360 off the top looks like Burke his sorry but not not as mr. Ian I'm talking about Griffin Muller has had a weak crash off the top 360 unfortunately maybe that landing was a little bit bummed out yeah that's tough we we kind of lost the lost sight of him there I'm not exactly sure what happened to Griffin but definitely something thrown his hands in the air which is not a great sign for the rider Griffin now making his way down we're gonna see if he's gonna continue on with his line 360 there for Griff so that's good to see that he is still making his way here with a wild one they're landing just next to the rock as Grif comes down into what has become this standard bottom air landing just above the bush getting a hand down unfortunately there for Griff not really sure what happened hopefully we will find a we will find a replay of that and see what happened to Griff yeah so Griffin Mulla is making his way into the finish line and he is the last of the skia guys today so with that we crash the control issue I think that is not going to be a positive sign for hunt and he's giving hugs from all the boys I think there's the American Crew there a pole Liam and Tom Pfeifer Griff unfortunately going down on that top hurt looked but bombed out they probably landed in exactly the same place as somebody else meaning the landing was a bit more firm than he expected and unfortunately getting the better of him still putting down a sick line after that though seeing those transfer ears and the other 360s that he put down too and that means that unofficially Leo's limit has taken home a 1 his day storming back onto the freeride world tour with the podium at the last stop and a win here today soleus limit he's gonna be right back up there and overall standings even though he's only made three of the stops two of them mean podiums and that's gonna look good for him in the title race showing why he has won or why he's got a title under his belt he as you said storming back it's the perfect way to put it so we're you know the other riders checking in on Griffin seen what's going on but layoffs limit unofficially of course your champion here in Endora arc Elise or Dino looking strong he had such a creative run adding all kinds of features going super fast in the middle of with the three 360s only only managed to be beaten in the 360 race by Liam Piper who managed to get foreign but unfortunately going down on that last one Soleil Oh slam it doing it here for the crew out of France and that is gonna shake things up in the overall with Christopher turned down finishing second and Marcus eater out of the running with that crash and no score because he lost his ski that's right so a Griffin Muller 46 13th place I think that unfortunately that is gonna be the end of the world to a road for home this year I hope that he goes back through the freeride world qualifier series and gets back on the world tour because last year he put down such incredible runs and shows us that he absolutely deserves to be here great person to have around great sense of humor great skiing style so please come on back now really Matt though taking out the winter day Christopher to Adele taking place keeping his defending title championship hopes alive and Rapala two podiums in a row and calori Guinea Eriksen and top fourth medic Gauri yeah well rounding out the top five I'm our Navarro with that blistering run in six drew tab key they're in seventh Tom Piper Mikayla bimbos in Berkeley Patterson rounding out the top ten here in Andorra three red world tour 2019 ski men's category and then moving over we got used to sake in 11th Liam Piper in 12th Grif Tanner and Marcus eater rounding out the 15 or 11 through 15 there and then we saw our list of DNS is so we are gonna move right back to the top here we've got our snowboard women we're gonna have a little bit of a brief look at what's been going on with the snowboard women but first we're gonna see what the overall looks like so Marcus cedar still way out in front there seventy-two hundred points Christopher to Adele 5,800 so I think technically if Christopher wins and Verbier and Marcus crashes then Christopher could still win but Marcus still right up the alia slam it right up there with bird now after only three competitions he's got a couple of podiums behind him so does polite Tom Piper isn't far behind Craig Murray still on sex even though he has been pressured and out of the season 10 hole and salmon sealant opt in Carl rig near jumping up into there and I might've IRA and McAlpin was the classic rewrite style writers looking at a bit of venue for them in Verbier yeah and then wada gorrik making his way up into that top 12 we're looking at he and drew tapped he now tied on 3850 Iranian Barker head unfortunately dropping out of the top 12 because he was not able to start here use the sake Berkeley Patterson Oh Liam Piper finishing things off in that category and so then we see our list of athletes that didn't start here yawn Rossi's Ian do max and yeah unfortunately for those guys not kicking things off here as they are either we are looking here at the top of the venue here in and or Ark Elise or dino and we are gonna be looking to get underway with our snowboard women's category that's right so just to clarify things we take the top 12 from the rankings so tied for 11th those guys at both be a snowbird woman now another category we could see a winner here today taking a will to a title for another time it's Marion aunty Mary now a 20-17 world champion if she wins here she is freeride world tour champion for 2019 and you know she wants it she's hungry to back up her last two victories and complete the hat-trick of course we have super strong riders right behind her though looking to defend her will to a titles modern model Anna orlova she won in Hakuba and Maria Kuzma sitting at 4th at the moment should be looking to get onto the podium for the first time this season that's right all to play for in our women's snowboard category Manuela Mendel she is the reigning freeride world tour champion and she wants her title back that's right she's been standing it so far this year so who's Maria it's a really strong riding from the woman snowboard category I think it's been a big step up for them this year the size of the ear that man who took and Canada was really impressive and it's cool to see the step in it up yeah great to see the battle shaping up between those women we've got Erica vie Kendra's gonna be dropping first for the snowboard women's fresh off the podium in Freiburg she wants to back that up here and stamp her ticket into next year and into Verbier but of course Manuel ándale she's the reigning freeride world tour champion she wants her title back and then Ana orlova she's been killing it this year she won her first event this year and she wants more than anything to win another one right here that's right so Maria Kuzma Marian ad T in 1 Akana hama the last three in the field because nicole Kelly is not starting today she's headed back to Canada to try and compete in the for stouts and re-qualify it through that Avenue Maria starting 4th today she has also come forth in the last three of the competitions and setting fourth overall so maybe she's a little bit tired of that number and she'll be definitely looking to get onto the podium for the first time this season and for the first time since 2011 which was the last time she competed on the Fed was oh yeah quite a string of 4th places for Maria she's definitely hungry to step onto the podium but of course the other women in the field are hungry for the podium as well and Marian hearty if she wins here that's it she's the champ and she has you know she's had a year off from being the champ well Manuela mandal has held that title so Maria Marian definitely looking to to take that back but nothing comes easily on the freeride world tour of course Erika vikander no stranger to the freeride world tour she was on the podium and she is on course here in Andorra that's right podium finished and favorite run looking to back that up with another podium finish here to get a spot in Verbier and for next year already in here off the top putting in a grab there and coming down into the steep of multi-necklace sections straightaway yeah Erika vie Kendra now making her way into the upper half of what we've been calling the playground freestyle friendly and Erika is a well she comes from a freestyle riding background as she makes her way now with it a couple more features heading into the kind of the meat of the playground now Erika definitely looking to throw some style into her run as that is her trademark there we go we're seeing it now yeah we saw her 180 from her already and I think it's which 182 I think she might have been just behind the rock from our angle on the first of those wanted he's meeting she was riding switch for a while pretty impressive in a face like this and finding some fresh snow now looking to really get through this fun looking shoot she's pointing it through there coming out hot and surf slashing that power does pleasure to watch from the lady yeah Erika vikon or mandatory air in the middle of that chute she's the first rider in there of the day and showing that it is a zone to be reckoned with when I just watched her go through there it kind of I can't believe that nobody else went through there it's pretty crazy after two categories are done that she is finding a fully fresh line that shows his good scoping and definitely some creative line choice of America yeah absolutely hood up that's the park style coming from a pocket background competing and a bunch of high profile Park competitions she has jutsu ax us option aha US Open and Sochi Olympic qualifications behind her so dipping into the free rides on now and showing us why she is here she's putting in grabs slashing that powder I think she had a little bit of a bobble just before the finish line so I'm not sure if there is a judging line before the finish gate and whether that will count towards her score if we see a Louis school from her then we expect and that could be why it but really impressive run from the American yeah hard to tell from our angle but we know the judges eyes never blink so if it happened we know they saw it but Erica vikander the upper section of her line looked great definitely adding style couple grabs there and going into that chute which has we said it's got a little mandatory air in there and also the first track in it which is that's not something special on a freeride venue if you can get the first track in a section then you know you're doing something right yeah that's right Erica by Canada riding her list of results to me and saying that she had a MS Park just after she got hurt and then got the snow would double cover I actually understood that as she had Amir so don't think she has that but she is in first place right now 75 points afford the American coming out of Montana she is looking for another podium result here and just to confirm we have had our producer in here just now saying that neither of the two categories that we've had so far the guys skiing or the guys no morning have got a clarified winner from the results today so we're gonna have to go to Verbier to sort that out how we have a motor model the defending world to a champ she is on course right now looking to get another podium and keep herself and the running for another world title yeah man well I'm making her way along the ridge you know she's looking for something huge that is her trademark and she's coming in here to get things started nice clean drop there from when Manuel Amanda as she is coming down and finding her way into a different section than what we saw Erica so already good to see the creative differences between the snowboard women's field yes right minor Mundell the peeps Rider peeps sponsor of the freeride world tour now big mountain style there's a lot of back country stuff load of split boarding and freeride touring it's got that more classic ERG freeride big mountain vibe and charging down here so far has been pretty quick looking to get into another cool was similar to Eric if I can - maybe coming over into the playground sparkling POW experience there we go Manuela mando a cross-court double there the first one big and the second one taking it big because she was going so fast as she is now making her way around the back of this huge block and adding another feature we're gonna see if she can squeeze one more in there as now this section is looking like maybe it's a little bit rough but Manuela Mendel so strong and so centered balanced on her board no problem for her to stay balanced and to keep things fast and fluid as she the Haven throws a little mini method there in the bottom section that's right on this Niki Pappas or mystery Pappas if you call them I like that one a little bit out on the fluidity on the judging criteria for my remodel but she still kept clapping it out she's happy to be down on the feet I think she displayed strong legs by riding through a bunch of different ears getting off the ground as many times as possible a little bit contrasting to erica by counter who rode a stephen moore technical section with less ears and more speed so i'll be really just see how the judges compare these two yeah it's one of the hardest aspects of being a judge here is comparing sections of the face that are inherently different from each other they do a great job of it and and our panel really knows what they're doing they are super experienced but they definitely know what's up okay so we're seeing the numbers come in they're sixty three point three three four men well Amanda Eric evike and are now holding on to the top spot but of course we do have a stack field to talent up there at the top looking to have looking to knock a haircut off the hot seat that's right my own Amanda winning the event here last year so not able to repeat that list I'm still in the running for an overall title when at the moment but like you say so many talented riders yet to come and one of them is right here at the Russian writer Anna all over she is also in the hunt for her first World Tour title looking to take the turns off the mana and Marion the Russian rider and the gate right now looking to do some kissed yet stuff she's starting from the steeper the highest outlook his lift yeah it's come to be her trademark Anna orlova definitely loves to get into the super steep techy stuff and make her way through that in a fluid and smooth fashion she's got a win this year she's got a second she's got a sixth place that she would probably love to throw away so she is under way here in that super steep technical section Anna orlova making her way over to the riders right we haven't seen a lot of action in this section yet that's right not from the snowboard woman and not from any category in fact she is in the steepest most technical part of the face that you can get up to a little bit of exposure there making sure that she gets off there on her feet and bouncing through there that's cool to see it's definitely a trademark style to go into the exposure and come through the the compulsory is I think it really challenges a mentally and looks cool for for anyone viewing these is it what you want to be doing when you're choosing your line you want to be looking into stuff that people how wishes gonna go what's she gonna do how is she gonna get out of this one you want it to be like a cartoon with like I can't possibly escape from this come back next time yeah that's right so Anna making her way all the way across but as we said when we're talking about judging criteria she wasn't traversing for no reason she made her way over there to hit that air and I may have had a hand down but it could have just been a slash and another feature so this run absolutely packed with features from Anna orlova I think for sure if we're going just based on the number of number of features no amount of time spent in the air logging air miles she has definitely got the most air miles out of the snowboard women's category so far putting together a super diverse run kind of starting over in the really technical riders right section and then the big move across but really specifically to lock down that air and then she had all four more airs after that that was definitely packed full of action for an over low back that's right and although frequent flyer today as you see it hitting so many is having a little bit of a control issue though in one of the middle ones though so we'll see how much that hurts our score a completely different run - Eric if I can - starting from a different start riding a different side of the venue heading lots of ears and seat up to steeper flowy issued the Erika Road so like you said wouldn't want to be a judge today really tough to compare them all but washing out a little bit on that one taking a butt cheek which is probably gonna hurt her score yeah that's that was definitely the the one issue there with Anna's run but she just had so much in it where it's gonna be interesting to see what the judges thought is Anna's run definitely packed with action but as you said a control issue so we'll see what the judge is thinking about that she's looking happy it's always that huge blend of kind of relief and stoke and and just all the emotions in in the finish line for the riders and this one even more so as it's been building for a week since we had that false start earlier on oh here we go Anna orlova 78 even dropping her into first spot right now Erika vyq and are gonna be stepping out of the hot seat and letting Anna take over both of these ladies throwing down great runs and Anna orlova looking to secure first place but of course we've got a couple more riders looking to how to say it not that's right Anna a little acidic first right now keeping her tidal hopes alive Eric if I can and seekin keeping her qualification hopes alive so really tight stuff in the woman's snow wood field next up we have Maria Guzman and she is already on course she has had for three fourth place finishes and misses her fourth start today to be looking to get onto the podium for the first time and she might need to do that to qualify her phobia in next year since Erika has taken it so far as he can yeah so Maria Koosman looking looking like she is off to a good start here fast flowy she she lives in Bali when she's not riding her snowboard so definitely always kind of showing that surfy style which I really like it's definitely it's always fun to watch yeah airs and grabs off the top two features and getting to a more technical section now the rocky bushy pickpocket here making her way through there quickly I could ain't no thing it's a slightly more technical zone and putting in a nose but a three there as well cool to see but a style yeah right now Maria Callas Maria is looking surfy hair and great to see that bit of style and she's gonna head into this shoot once again like Erika finding a line that nobody else has touched all day with an air and then oh just throwing those gorgeous patterns down Maria Koosman looking like she is having a blast out there yeah that looks like so much fun to ride right now like we're saying you look like you have been fun the judges are gonna look like that giving you a good score they will be giving you a good score not just looking like it Maria Kuzma finding her way out of the venue now that was pretty quick one run two as well as a couple hits a couple of grabs some power slashes and shoot pretty complete from the Kiwi yeah that's that was definitely a run that looked enjoyable I hope that Maria enjoyed herself seeing the judging criteria there so as we said this is just a tool for for you at home and us to keep up with what we think the judges may throw down maria Kuzma making her way there nice and smooth and with that classic surfy style yeah the only key we left after the other three Kiwis that were competing have all gone down to Judah injuries a big shout-out to Hank Sam and of course Craig Murray had last Kiwi with the possibility of a podium and a world title at the moment so looking to need a win I think if she's gonna have hope for the world title third potential podium here today that will hopefully call her qualify her for the 302-a finals and Bo BIA in a couple weeks getting a hug from a travel buddy and trade buddy and all over coming out of the hot seat coming congratulate oh yeah it's been really cool to see the camaraderie with the riders here outside of the competition face they're hanging out together they're traveling together they're spending a lot of time together and you know these kind of situations really create a strong bond of friendship of course we do have one more rider up here on the face is at the top and if she wins here she is 2019 freeride world tour champ Marion ante out of France 2017 world champion looking to take the title back today with a win she could do it Marcus he didn't manage to and the skiing guy is Viktor dealer who didn't manage to in the snowboarding guys will we crown a will to a winner here today and Marion it's he starting off strong taking that topic deep yeah that was huge marine her she is showing that she means business here she wants that title she wants to stand on top of the podium of course the other women who are currently down there are definitely looking to get involved but Marion right now looking strong that was a huge error off the top and she is charging really fast run fluid and smooth so far three big ears and stomping him straight to her feet no hand down or butt cheek putting and grabbing off that one a little bit tail heavy like a boss just bouncing like it's a pipe job super smooth stuff here from the 2017 will champion of freeride snowboarding Marian aunty and stomping that one clean to sun's out guns out Mari inherit a stamping her stamp of approval on this venue and getting another one of those mystery pops at the bottom such a strong run super fast that air at the top really kicked things off the judges love that you know as we've talked about before the the judges are kind of looking at things as a as a thermometer and when you get the thermometer into that hot zone right off the bat it's it's definitely a good sign of things to come and Marianne RT taking the opposite approach in the middle of the venue going all the way from riders left to right where Anna orlova went all the way from riders right to left and getting that big transfer at the bottom that was a strong run for Marion she's definitely made a case for her today are we about to see a free ride will to a champion crowned after only four out of five events she's wearing the golden burb she's giving a hug to the hot seat she's hanging out with her fellow Frenchman and Mary and air t-80 7.67 the world the world champion could be crowned right here right now we have one more rider here to go walk our nahama is the Knicks in this dark gate and she heads to beat Marion ere T's to pop score of 87 point six seven F Marian LT is not to be crowned afraid world to a champion today the cross called sponsored rider about to sit down in the cross call hot seat and maybe be presented with a world tour when after only four out of five stops that's amazing stuff Derrick oh yeah it sure is but of course we do have one rider still left at the top what kinda Hama out of Japan she wants it she wants to be on the podium and she has stood on the podium this year you know she wants to be back there she is in that steep technical section up at the top and she's getting things going here while kana Hama out of Japan is underway as you said it's steep and technical up here we're kind of always looking for those gnarly lines coming down to the lookers lifts so far Kelly following around sun's out snow is a little bit scraped off from the other riders that were seen come down through here I plead and all of it was also in that section what kind of humma enjoying the fresh pal that she's finding via slashing away looks like a lot of fun update Eric yeah this kind of surfy pow it just seems to lend itself to snowboarding it makes it look so much fun and the riders just surfing down throwing those big plumes of snow out as they make their turns what kind of Hama making her way through that open POW field as she now approaches this err section nice and clean through there what kind of oh she's gotta have a shot on now and things are looking good right now for Makana Hama she's currently the only track in the section as she comes across and rejoins with some of the other tracks and now headed over a little bit more to the riders left so linking a bunch of features together starting from the steeper more exposed now they start no locusts left in a joy in this pound pala fields down through here like you said a few features that no one else has hit so making the most of it fresh landings there's been a lot of riders so far today so a smart line choice to line up things that still gonna have fresh landings and and no tracks in them yeah well kind of popping her way through always finding that playful style she's got that playful style that really matches her playful personality she's always smiling she's kind of been out exploring in the wilds of Andorra I saw her two days ago and she pointed at the peak across the valley from the hotel and said I went up there today huh wow that's super impressive I didn't know that the Japanese rider the Japanese veteran coming down into the finish gate so we'll wait for his score if she weren't this Marion is not champion if she doesn't win Marion as world champion and then we have all sorts of different other scenarios but who finishes in the top three and you need to be in the top four to qualify the Verbier in next year so karna Hama the Japanese rider is she going to qualify yourself for the Verbier finals and the world to a 20/20 yeah it's crunch time here and there's a lot of things at stake so we are just looking here at the score coming in for Wakanda Hana 58.3 3 that's putting her into six position you know what does that mean marionette tea is free ride will to a champion 2019 there you go getting hugs from Erica makanda and and all over and the cross-hall hot seat appropriate for the cross beam rider taking her second coup at World Tour title and three years there's amazing stuff from the French rider she must be super psyched right now with a whole event to go she is already taking the title home it's been amazing stuff this whole season from the French snowboarder that is an exciting moment here in thority on this venue and not only on the venue not only here in Andorra but on the tour she has now won three events in a row Marion her she is on fire right now and she is your 2019 freeride World Tour champion that's right also Marion aunty riding on the the world cup of slopestyle previously so a champion all-round a great versatile snow wood writer film parts competitions she can do anything and she is right there in first place and all over second place Eric if I can just taking a second podium in a row Andrea Kuzma taking her fourth fourth so my room and all the defending champion fifth wall karna hamat and six in the coal Kelly not starting today she's back at a four star in Canada so I wonder what that's gonna do apart from Marion winning the title overall nothing is certain now Erica vikander with that third place might jump up into qualification for Verbier M for next year but I'm not sure you're gonna have to do the math you're gonna have to look at the overall result and vehicle Marion LT the winner overall seventy five hundred points and all over City and second bana Mandal 58 oh five sitting at the just in front of Erica by Canada unfortunately that means at Marea Kuzma and what karna Hamid do not qualify the Verbier and for next year and I'm sorry to see that because they're both super red ripping riders that were a pleasure to have around I hope you make it back to the tour in some way shape or form in the future girls because it has been such an amazing show to what you all throw down here but but today Marion aunty the winner of the comp Titian and the winner of the free ride will to a 2019 it's the glory and the heartbreak of crunch time Neil you know it's it's one of these things that we all know is coming and everybody is so hungry for it here but unfortunately now we're starting to see these things play out where we have riders who are making a big jump who weren't you know in the cut and jumping into it by a podium finish and and vice versa and and in this one we've got a Tour champion who is going to be crowned today at Marion RC locking things down she has put her stamp on on the season this year three wins in a row that's how you do it if you want to win the championship that's a great way to do it absolutely we see her hanging out and the golden bib and the riders lounge and the ladies of psych well hanging out in front of the camera high fives to each other stoked for the level of riding today hanging out in the Sun and the fish no so Marion at sea you'll freeride world to a champion 2019 like you see at the golden bib three wins in a row yeah that's right the only result this year that was not a one enjoying that deep powder in Japan I think all the riders were pretty psyched there's a permanent smile on her face basically the whole time that she was there yeah then locking things down for the win at kicking horse we're seeing the hugs and the champagne that was a cold day to get champagne sprayed on you in kicking horse that's right before fever run only two weeks ago taking another one via and the Steven expose face it was the first time that the riders started from the high point of the face the very highest point that you can start from on the build see Lauder she took home a win the first time that the woman's snowboarders have started from there so no advantage to having been on the world tour before for her it's just pure skill it's knowing how to ride a snow but knowing how to pick a line and know he had execute on the day yeah and that's exactly what she did here she chose a super creative line and really quite different from what we saw from the other snowboard women taking that same entry air as we saw Laius limit on his win on the ski men's side which which was just super spectacular and she took it deep she went big on that one yeah impressive riding from the French today Marianne Elzey winning the snowboarding vadik gorya coming in third or fourth third place I believe and the and the guys skiing leus limit of course winning the guys skiing so great days for the French it's not too far away I think that you could go for a ski tour about 20 minutes away from the lifts axis that we have here and beat in France so I wonder if that helped in some way local knowledge the local language the local food yeah definitely the French the French folks feeling right at home here in Andorra as you said the back of this resort is the border of France we were looking out in the direction of France and scoping some some really cool-looking lines back there but the French riders definitely feeling at home today and making their mark on this face so we've seen what it takes to win on the face here today the face is compressed but there's a ton of features and there's a lot of different ways that you can make it look good but what's key so far is you got to be clean and you got a link enough features that are all big enough to impress those judges that's right linking as many features to get it as possible it's gonna be the key today has been the key for the riders it already pain we've had three of the four categories that already down that had that relief feeling of coming through the finish line whether it is excitement or disappointment in comparison to the nervousness in this decade as you're talking about and the French coming out on top so far today of course of France French being one of the national languages of Andorra we've got three languages national languages here Anantara and none of them is English so a pretty impressive stuff when you speak the locals and they reply in English because they already speak French and Spanish and Catalan Catalonia Catalan yeah it's it's been incredible the hospitality that the endurance have shown us I love coming here I've always enjoyed both the people and the terrain and the snow you know we've had basically we've had spring skiing and then today we've just flipped right back to winter and the riders showing that they are making the most of these wintery conditions the snow surface on top is good it's still firm underneath but that just means it's stompy and that the bomb holes aren't proving a problem for the riders it is critical though that they find those transitions on this face yeah that's right so three categories done one to go with the ski woman is going to be the next and final category and in the ski woman we have another situation where we could be crowning a world to a champion here today unlike the other three categories the will to a champion that could be already crowned here today it's not one person as two potential winners Ariana's raqami looking to defend her world to a title with a win here today she could take home the overall victory but also out of Canada out of sorry not out of can take it one in Canada and out of Utah Jaclyn polo yeah it's been a really impressive impressive rookie start for Jacqueline Paulette she didn't have the run she wanted in in Japan and she left there with a reset mindset and she came out swinging in kicking horse and took the wing there which was super exciting to see because similar to what we saw with her brother in FIBA Brune those those riders they need it to be fun they need to be stoked on it for them to be successful and so to see those riders because they're both quite young to see them have the mental maturity to make a reset like that reset the head reset the body and then come out and do what needed to be done is really both impressive and exciting to me and now to see Jacqueline in the hunt for a title with Arianna is just so cool yeah that's right so the one will to it champ crowned here today already Marian as he out of France there's having a look at her run which took her home the title both the one and overall today so mariann starting out of the lookers right start gate we saw a mixture of which start gates do well for riders I thought that lookers less that get might be overall better because the trains more steep and exposed but turns out this so many fun playful heads and the playground that you like to give them the look his right hand side and that's done well for a bunch of riders today there yeah and Marian just carrying her speed you know she's never shutting down speed unnecessarily she stays pointed where she wants to go which is you know a critical for those fluidity points and for that aspect going so fast and then each feature that she moved to was big and she took it right off the nose every one of those things deadfall and here we see her yeah lining this one up and then she makes her way all the way across this was a very clever move this was really swell scope too she came all the way across here and then gets this final hit going again right off the end taking it because you can't and finding the perfect spot to land it yeah that's right I really like it when people scope lines that means they are having things as fast and as big as they can for me it's more enjoyable to see someone hit something off the nose and you know put a grab and like she did just there rather than hitting something that's really big and taking it off the side or if you take off the nose and back slap it's not as good as like finding someone - exactly at your level so that's why we're always talking about control and exposure and technique because we want to see people doing things they can do well rather than doing things they're not sure if they can do and landing them kinda a little bit yeah yeah the show is about smoothness style and completeness that's why it's not called extreme anymore it's called freeride yeah that's right and all three of the podium finishers in the women's field there in the snowboard side did exactly that they they rode lines they scoped lines and then executed things that they knew they were gonna be capable of doing which was critical here it is crunch time and we've also got you know we said a compressed venue we saw Erica vikander and anne-marie Koosman going into sections where nobody else had even ridden yet and and then Marian again the same thing nobody else went over there but she saw it she found it and she knew if she pumped right off the end of it that she was going to find that perfect spot to land in and she did exactly what she needed to do super smart lion scoping from the girls here today as we're saying first time of the world tour has competed on this venue so no advantage to having been on the world tour before just how good you are at scoping and the advantage of this video is that you can scope it from so many different angles you can look at liftand the right from the top and the bottom that's not always true for all the venues sometimes it's only from the bottom and maybe from the top makes it harder yeah for sure some of them have big ridges or other Peaks beside them where they just doesn't offer those those side angle vantage points but this one was was easy to access the sides so it was kind of it was kind of good that way and I think what we're seeing from that is this really creative variation on the lines and we're also seeing we have I don't think we've seen anybody really get lost all the riders know exactly where they're going and I think part of that at least is the opportunity for them to scho from so many different angles that's right so coming up at your next our final category of today it is the ski woman and the potential for two different people to take on the world to a title before the finals so one of those people is the defending will to a champion Arianna trachoma coming into crunch time today karate cries that's right the rookie and the champ either one of these ladies if a whole bunch of things go right could be Tour champion after today Arianna trachoma we're seeing her trademark 360 there and then Jacqueline Pollard taking the win in kicking horse taking a silver in Fever Brune she has got what it takes but of course there are a few others that want to have a say that's right Elizabeth garrison on Switzerland and hit big missile out of Norway as a little no strange to the podium taking home a couple so far this year and hid like vessel taking home the win and paper run last week with the smooth run and a huge back flip so things are still wide open and the ski female category more so than any of the other categories I think yeah ski women is hot right now and all of the women are looking to cement their spots they want to stand on top Arianna wants their wants her title back Jacqueline the rookie wants it and of course both Hedvig and Elizabeth really psyched to stand on the podium again those girls want to be on top it's really all to play for hear crunch time in andorra crunch time so heidrick vessel the defending champ from first time she's competed here first out of start gates de Juliet woman looking to put down a run to qualify over ba and finish it and the same with Jackie Paso the experienced American veteran Elizabeth Garrett send the Swiss style rider coming at you looking for another podium in hazel Birnbaum coming back to this dog yeah that's right and then defending Tour champion Ariana Turco me I Anna Onizuka out of Japan Jacqueline Pollard of course the rookie out of Utah unfortunately not able to start here today as she did sustained a knee injury so we've got a stacked field of talent on the ski woman's side and we are 30 seconds away from head back vessel the Norwegian who is looking to back up her win in FIBA Brune with another strong run here head big vessel pretty excited about the venue here she said it it kind of feels like Scandinavia a little bit firm snow you know the the venue was was not super complex she feels really confident in their ability to scope for line and she is off Hedvig vessel is on course that's right the Norwegian a former mogul skier was having two Olympics and now changing her focus to freeride she's starting from the more steep exposed and nollie start and getting straight through into a guys line one of the go most prominent guys lines throwing a massive backflip off it too was that to her feet yes it was without of side of the Cineflex angle for a second there but hit McMissile on a heater right now ahead big vessel with the strong start in the technical section and punting a huge that was a spectacular start to this women's ski field head vessel she got a taste of blood in fever bruh and she won her first event and now she knows a what it takes and B what it feels like and she wants that feeling again coming into this boat of me is so hot little bit of a back slip but damn that was so big oh my god that was a guys run right there that was fast it was floor there was a huge backflip I cannot fault that that was incredible stuff Hedwig vessel Wow she just went huge she did a massive backflip she went absolutely huge off that bottom air she wants to win here that Bush got in the way of her landing didn't let it slow her down we're gonna have a look at what Aaron style through the roof technique through the roof this top section was super technical and then immediately into this backflip Neil look how far she carried laying it out I couldn't believe that she didn't under rotate she was just in the if is so long stomps his next one and it comes in so fast this bottom here stomps that bush a little bit of a back slap doesn't matter she's already at the finish my mind is blowing their head weak that's all all smiles in the finish we're gonna see what the judges have to say about that that little backslap at the bottom but the rest of it just stood out so much to me so much of that was so strong so 70 point zero for head big vessel there she had some mind-expanding moments in that run and what a way to start the category exactly opening up the woman's ski category with an absolute explosion hey big basil sitting the bahai oh yeah so we are straight back up to the top our young French rider Juliet Willman she has the ski racing background she's got great technique she loves fast keying and she likes to say make it technical we're gonna see she we know she's got a few tricks in her in her bag - she went huge in kicking horse unfortunately unable to stick it their butts getting out strong out of the gate with a nice strong air there same air as we saw Marian her t takeoff maybe that is the French air popular French here at the top let me get ya Juliet Willman not a fan of anything and croissants she likes to keep a few right free-riding pure just like your food and lining up this top here - seen it deep into the pocket she's already had a couple of good hits halfway down the face still finding some fresh snow going further out look his right never seen much the riders go but it's a pretty fun looking here the same one as here dig this will just hit coming straight into the fore line and taking that one deep as well yeah nice finding a little pocket there between the existing bomb holes that's part of the game as these athletes later in the field have to navigate a few more bomb holes clean there for Juliet as she gets another little pop there and is out clean I like to see this both the scoping and the presence of mind where these athletes are able to hit to hit those features and find the pockets in between the bomb holes to keep things clean i-i've always all this year been a big fan of the technique that Juliet possesses coming from now ski racing background she is definitely about a strong technique she stands on the downhill ski bends the ski and is able to to make short work of these tricky sections as we see Juliet cruising through there really quick and something should be interesting for me was at the very bottom she had a very recently ear to hear but almost exactly the same but from a slightly different takeoff didn't go quite as big no control issue on the landing and then adjusted her skis to hit another here just afterwards so with it going big with a bit of a back slap was slightly smaller with a double and good control scores better that's super interesting for me yeah hard to say those lines definitely quite different Juliet definitely going for the technic fast fluid approach Hedwig just going for the massive sense so we're gonna see which one which one's the judges like but either way both of those rounds really strong and that's a good one for Juliet to lock down that's right so Juliet looking to take at the cross girl hot seat off of here big vessel cross cool right Oh Juliet Willman she has one of those tough phones that it's good teams and the outdoors if it gets wet or cold but it's gonna be a tough job to take the fourth the first spot off here big and she does not manage to today still a strong score sixty six point three three points of the un-- for each woman yeah good run for Juliet they're showing her style and her technique and also really clever scoping and she was able to find transition on that last year that's at a few people down right back up to the top it is the legend Jackie Paso she has always got some tricks up her sleeve always going huge and always looking for the things that no other girl is gonna look at that's right Jackie peso seeking here in 2017 first year in 2006 sixteen so aunt Dora Audino our place has been a happy hunting ground for the American veteran Lexie as she can put another one down here today all right so Jackie past oh she's coming out hot she's showing that that aggression right out out of the start gate and straightaway finding a pocket in that air Jackie Paso looking strong so far yeah that's right two ears straight after each other without much turning in between so really strong start to the run coming to Lucas lift right us right rather than to the playground on the look is right as most of the other riders have gone through and lining up a big ear that we saw a vet at gorrik backflip and I know Navarro has seen Jackie taking it a little bit of a back slap but stomping it from the American absolutely massive that is what we have come to love about Jackie positrons when she goes she goes all out and she's got more in store as she heads her way down there's only one track in this section and now there's gonna be two Jackie Basso Sammy eras you Sasaki owning the second track in there today after you was at the skiing guys category so fourth category lots of riders through the venue already Jackie Paso finding some cool creative stuff and sending it massive that was a classic Jackie Paso line that's what we love to see from her and really happy to see her lock one down as we've seen her a couple times this year go absolutely huge and and not quite able to pull it off like we saw kicking horse where she jump most of the men but that one classic paso they're huge air like you said a little bit of a back slap maybe on the middle one but I have a feeling maybe that the live score is gonna hold it down with inline fluidity Aaron style through the roof there a little bit of a blip on control as we saw there she did get pushed into the back seat and then coming over here into the air that used to sake pioneered finding a clean landing on that one Jackie Paso making a case here for a podium and it is place Jackie Paso yeah all right 81 points so she talks had big vessel off the hot seat with a completely different style of run it's what I love about this sport Neal it doesn't matter if there's no set way you have to do it you can choose your style and you throw it down in your best so Jackie Paso right now head big vessel and Juliet women Willman rounding out the top three 81-point surfer jack yeah amazing stuff here we still have a bunch of amazing riders to come as well like Elizabeth Gibson but for now Jackie Paso the veteran sitting in the hot seat alright Elizabeth Garretson she's been on the podium she has had those third-place finishes but she wants better she wants to stand on top and Elizabeth garrison is certainly capable she's got a ton of style I really like the way she adds style to everything she does really sink that top here as well seeing a lot of people headed so far today and she went past the bomb holes with a different take off so good lion scoping good maturity from the Swiss rider she said to me that she didn't think she was really to be the world to a champion she feel would like she would feel like she's a little bit of a cheat if she won at the stage she's dead now but she's obviously developing so skier very smart wise and it makes good line choices ski super hard execute really well so impressive stuff so far from the Swiss girl I'm not sure if it's long till she's ready to be willed to a champ well you know what two-thirds and a fourth so far this year obviously there's something that she's doing right and that last error is kind of showing exactly what it is the way she took that super creatively I like the angle that she hit it at and then just laid out one of those classic freeride turns there's a little more style for Elizabeth Garretson as she is a bombing into the Finnish crowd so elizabeth Garretson again another strong run from this women's field nobody is going to give give up the points or the podium the top fourth this year so far hopefully she's gonna be able to keep that streak alive that's right Elizabeth garrison the peak performance rider you see you're taking that top e a big way pass those other potholes went into that would be no shopping center and happened to see a big poster of her posing next to it yesterday so technique right on point or that style the tail taps coming over the rollers a little bit backseat or one of those years but a bit of a flat landing I think his school would still be pretty strong amazing run from the Swiss right oh yeah I like that the way she took that last air to the angle that she got it on gave her a really nice transition and able to find something creative seems to be become her or be becoming her trademark creativity and adding style into everything she does so there we see Jackie Paso sitting in the hot seat nervously awaiting to see what the judges have to say about Elizabeth Garrett since Ron yeah that's right the American veteran versus the youngest Swiss rider completely different styles like you said more linked features from Elizabeth Garrett's and that'll put her in fourth place right in our 62.67 lots of features lots of good style lots of hits but a couple of little controller she's probably hurting a score a little bit whereas Jackie pets are just absolutely sending it massive ears to completely change the game yeah so we're heading right back up to the top the women's field is lighting it up hazel Birnbaum out of California she has made it clear that this is gonna be her last year on tour this is her swan song her farewell and her farewell has included a podium so far this season she wasn't able to make it to femur Brune but on kicking horse she did stand on the podium and she wants nothing more than to do that again here in Andorra so that's right hazel Birnbaum won the event here in 2015 and Andorra so good to have her back as she is retiring this year see if she can do that again hopefully she makes it to Verbier as well and we get to see her ski her trademark Big Mountain freeride style as she's already showing it here today really quick through the venue taking that top ear and like just slicing this run enjoying the power moving quickly through the venue yeah hazel heading into this quite technical section in the middle and as she gets down through the pepper points it and is out clean hazel Birnbaum definitely looking strong she has got that turn shape that the judges love super fast really fluid and going for the transfer they're hazel Birnbaum making her way down you know she always is is kind of focused on speed which is something that I really appreciate about her riding she's fast but she's also fluid and she packs it with stuff hazel looking to line something up here on the bottom section going big yeah yeah hazel stomping the crap out of that one tough to find sending it straight into the pocket you can see the snows a little bit deeper there from a wind deposit and just not going forward not going backwards just going open from that landing spreading your legs and just stomping the crap out of it super impressive skiing from the American yeah that was a great line from hazel Birnbaum really creative definitely again different from what we've seen it was interesting looking at the face initially I kind of thought we might just see a lot of the same stuff and then you see a line like that from his a Birnbaum and you say okay well there are still things on this face that we haven't seen yeah really well found from the 2015 champion of the Athena Occulus event so we'll see if this run is good enough to get onto the podium super high level on the gills today as you see that bottom stump that has such a big fan of showing those strong legs hazel Birnbaum yeah and looking up at her bomb hole there that's almost the deepest spot on the whole face hazel Birnbaum sniffing out with her powder nose sniffing out the soft landings and finding the transition so that was an impressive run from hazel as we said she is she's she's gonna pack it in for the freeride tour sorry she's gonna call it a career here on the freeride world tour at the end of this season I asked her if it was okay to say that she said yet no secret everyone knows but that is the way if you're gonna if you're gonna leave a sport that's the way to do it leave it with authority that's right such high level on the woman's here to date rumors that Jackie pesto might be retiring after the season as well so veterans moving on younger people coming up the woman's field is wide open today hit McMissile could it be the world champion Ariana two economy could be the world champion we could also have Elisabeth Garretson and potentially still as a real champion but more likely Ariana and trachoma me so lots of girls sending it today sorry I mean to say jake'll employer thinks to Ariana she put me twice instead either Ari or Jaclyn could be crowned today if they take the top spot and they are two of the three last riders the score coming in now for hazel baby I'm sitting in second right now just loving what they see she was creative she was fast she was fluid and she went big so right now we are looking at Jaclyn Paso sitting in first hazel Birnbaum in second and Hedvig vessel in third one two three all three of those runs completely different from one another and I just want to clarify when I mentioned that hazel was leaving the sport I don't mean the sport of skiing I just mean the freeride world tour that's right right now who we go to coolest air Ariana charco me your reigning freeride world tour champion and she is hungry for a win she definitely wants to she's got her her trademark 360 that she's been looking she got shut out of it and be burned she wants to throw it here and I'm sure you go through 60 from ours Jacoby stomping it yeah that's exactly what she wanted to do Ariana has been looking for that but she also has such a great style there's another 360 Ferrari getting a little bit back in her in her stance but able to muscle through it as she comes down now into this lower section Ariana trachoma on a heater she's already had two 360s she's gonna be able to match the record made by late I'll slam it there for it with three yeah similar run Tullius limit so far freeride inspired creative freestyle taking that bottom ear stomping it making we slalom turn around the bush maybe a hand down and a couple of mystery poppers at the bottom and the sunny power experience Ariana's economy staking a claim for a potential world tour word the mathematics gets quite complicated depending on where she finishes and where other people finished if she wins is not in the top five and Elizabeth Garrison's not the top two and Vissel is not top three so it's a little bit too complicated for me right now the woman's field is wide open but one thing I do know super-strong runs from all of the ladies yeah so are you arianna trick called me getting two 360s in her run you see her foot kick out there but dead clean on the landing I don't think that one's gonna hurt her at all and then another clean one here for Ariana try comeö she does get dipped there her left ski kicked out a little bit and then on this one she had the nice clean turn and then the final air there we saw at the left hand getting towards the ground it's gonna be interesting to see what the judges think about that Ariana try call me they'll bring the freestyle here into the freeride scene that's right and when we had the interview with Lorraine Hooper and Faber and she was talking about how it's amazing a few years ago only a year or two ago re was one of the only girls doing freestyle moves and so today we've seen threes we've seen big backflips you know the level of Gil skiing is just going through the roof right now it's a pleasure to be a part of this pleasure to witness and and see there's so much variety and the styles of these potentially winning runs on all different parts of the face doing different things yeah that's right so the judges liking what they see with Ariana churko me dropping a 79 flat so right now Jackie Paso is holding on to the top spot there with that 81 our amateur call me 79 and then hazel Birnbaum rounding out the top three that is gonna push that big vessel off the podium for this one but we are straight back up to the top I Anna Onizuka getting ready to drop in here in Andorra that's right so Anna Onizuka representing for Japan wildcard onto the Graduate or after retiring from a pipe skiing career where she podiums multiple eights games quite a lot of seconds there and think she was said she was getting tired of coming second so of course she would like a once-a-day just as much as anybody else the Japanese skier winning the three star and how could this year yeah you can see the snow in that upper entrance is getting a little firmer this other way I honest skied bounced around there wasn't a ton of snow in there and a few riders they're all kind of making the same turn shape and so it's definitely affecting to my Anna nice little shifty over that transfer air getting hurt from the technical zone in start 1 over into the top of the playground section here that's right japanese typewriters showing the style and the free out as well prison that your starting from the steep exposed look his lift start gate when she's got more of a park background so i really like to start in canada as well which he unfortunately ended up coming unstuck but showing strong riding here so if i take this here deep dig yeah absolutely fall line off that and then lacing a turn to get herself over and set up for this final air i anna making her way off and just getting a little bit of a hip touch there it's hard with that one because the fall line kind of changes shape almost like an open book there and if you're a little bit out of the fall and then you're gonna get pushed to the inside as we saw it with i anna there yeah we saw that justice you were saying the landing of the angle of the landing is a little bit different to the angle of the take off so you could adjust your skis in the air pop in a way that's a little bit of an aeroplane to him and then picked directly in the fall line to maximize your chances of thanks straight on your feet we've seen a lot of people get a little bit bucked around by that one and a little bit under control as a result of that but her liner fluid he scores right up there yeah and that one she took so big absolutely dead in the fallen and then we're looking at here her final air and you can see her skis just get kicked across a little bit as we have seen with a few other athletes so i anna not alone in having that happened to her today but a strong run from our rider out of japan that's right anna skiing a similar skis to re but not exactly the same it's interesting to see that there's different ski choices of for the same venue instance same know type so different riders with different styles doing their own thing but Ayana nervously awaiting her score at the moment seeing if she can take over the cross cold hot seat we only have one more ski lifts to go and it is jacqueline politics but Ayanna on azúcar seventh place right now fifty nine point three three points yeah so Jacqueline Pollard the rookie out of Alta Utah she has had a barn burner of a start to the season so far she's got a win in a second as we said after Japan she kind of reset her head and now she is on fire and she is in contention for the title Arianna just put a pretty solid stamp it's not gonna be easy to take the title away from the champ and of course Jacqueline Pollard gonna give it her best shot here as she heads out and over to the riders left side of this the bending from start - that's right so exciting stuff the last rider of today and we could still have a world champ crowd either way being Jaclyn part or our economy so earring strayed off the nose of these two off top to head she's skiing fast and seating it pretty big so far one of the things that really is a highlighter standout of Jacqueline Pollard style is how fluid she is she makes these massive turns in areas which other people are making shorter turns and and she never hesitates off her hair she straight into the airs every time and as you said that you really like to see and what I like about the way Jaclyn skis is when she's gonna go off something she's gonna go right off the front of it just like she did there finding a fresh landing and definitely staking her claim to stay in the title race here in Andorra Neal looking so so it's smooth going big on the ears stomping that one as well so like I said before it's gonna be interesting how people do going bacon back slapping on that versus going smaller and stomping clean as a saying before it's better to see people doing things they know they can do well and executing them perfectly I think it's exactly what Jacqueline's done today yeah that was exactly the run she wanted to put down there I think Jacqueline's been a little bit under the weather so I'm happy to see her put a run together that that has her on the on her feet at the bottom and she's coming in all hugs in the finish area for for our lady's field so Ariana and Jacqueline kind of locked in there looking like I have a feeling Jackie Paso gonna hold on to the top spot after what we just saw from Jacqueline but definitely I think that's gonna keep Jacqueline in touch with Ariana yeah that's right so Jacqueline Paula as you say super smooth fast and controlled skiing and the hunt for the title race probably won't be taking home today and interesting to see that the young American rookie getting a hug from the American veteran who's currently sitting in the hot seat really cool contrasting styles here today going to completely different parts of the venue but and general the level just so high the woman skiing field yeah you know it's really cool in 2020 15 Jackie Paso here that were seeing the the Pollard's there in in the shots together Jackie Paso was a mentor for Jacqueline Pollard at the freeride Junior World Championships you want to start with her talk to her line and it's so cool to see now both of these women on we ride World Tour and Jackie still taking a bit of a mentor role but of course now Jacqueline is her competitor so she's not gonna be given anything away in that in that role of mentor but kind of just helping her through the ups and downs of what it's like with with tour life and it's great to see as we said the friendships and the cooperations and stuff that go on here amongst the athletes so the Pollard's there and we are seeing a repeat of Hebron where the Pollard's are gonna stand on the same spot on the podium at the same event 74 3 3 therefore Jacqueline Pollard that is going to put her into third place so the Pollard's are collecting quite a haul of medals they got two silvers from Bieber Brune they're gonna have two bronze it's here in Andorra Neal what a story yeah it's amazing they'll both be gonna go be and that's pretty incredible they weren't happy with the runs in the first competition and Huckabee and what a way to to thing turn things around back-to-back podiums for both of the brother and sister they're so incredible stuff from the Utah family so looking quickly back at the overall there I think that it's it at home becomes sick in she's real champ and Paula does not top 7 so there hasn't happened today of course Jacqueline Follet landing on the podium if Elizabeth Garrett Center wasn't on the top three and a hit big didn't make the top 5 ben-ari could've won so far today so it still super tight at the time top there and wide open and the woman's field results coming up all right so Jacqueline Paso with a classic Paso run lighting it up it's what she wanted to do and it is exactly what she did Ariana churko me and Jacqueline Pollard neither giving an inch here in it or this battle is going on to to Verbier his a Birnbaum they're rounding out the top 4 head back vessel with that massive backflip and the huge air at the bottom unfortunately just a little bit unable to keep the control perfect which she needed but still in the top five so right in touch yeah I mean Juliette women's run was pretty damn impressive as well and so as was Elizabeth Garrett since all the riding today was really really good and to not take top five with the runs of those girls were doing it must be pretty tough Morbius unfortunately not joining us with a knee injury but with the podium she's already got I think she'd be qualified for next year anyway let's have a look at what there has done to the overall as I said things still wide open Irish you gonna be just in front at the moment the first place Jaqueline polite and stick in the hit big vessel at the moment over one third only 220 points separating 1st and 2nd there and had big vessels still very much in the mix and you know she's gonna be home before you Elizabeth Garretson Jacqueline Paso jumping all the way up to fifth they're hazel Birnbaum Juliette Willman and then of course we seen Maude Ayane and Ava both know there are rounding out the top 10 so the top six of those girls are going to Verbier in qualified the next year if they want to do the thing is that fifth and sixth year have both qualified for the BA and next year but have since they're aspiring so hazel valve and Jackie peso going to the VA for the last time to see if they can take over ba title which is almost as coveted as overall title I think Oh almost and in some cases maybe even more so over ba if you win the extreme that is something that just cements your place in the Hall of Fame of freeriding that's that's a wit there that's a win that everyone wants so of course if you want to get in the game you want to be a little bit more behind the scenes you want to feel a bit more invested peak performance fun Bette has your back you can go online log in create yourself a create yourself a profile and then you can choose the riders that you feel are gonna do well it's been going all seasons but of course it is still running for Verbier and it's your last chance to get involved in the game Verbier extreme or sorry the Xtreme Verbier and a peak performance fun back coming together here to light up the scene and keep you behind the scenes and involved in game involved my name is Harrison and I want to stand on the top of the podium as a freeride world tour champion with peak performance fun bets you can choose whoever you think will win by doing so you have the chance of winning prizes from peak performance follow these instructions to enter the pen bet now who would you bet off [Music] [Music] so the peak performance fun bit something that you can get involved in I hope you got involved with it today because there was some amazing runs and if you bid on them you could be taking home some free peak performance gear but Wow Derek what a show today we got through it pretty quickly I'm proud of the crew for that weather might be coming in they waited for the right snow and now I've had a great competition we're looking for the next one yeah and or do you know our Calise in the books we are done here and we are on to verb' and you know it's pretty exciting so many things at stake so many things at play it's all coming down to this that's right hello boo ba [Music] so that's for the show here today in Audino are Kelly's and aunt Dora it's been an incredible one shout out to all the people that made it happen riders were sick judges were sick because Dionne Newport for getting out of bed this morning after not being able to hold down any food for the last couple of days so it's been a lot of hard work to get the event done we're super proud that we made it happen Derek thank you so much for joining me for last three stops it's been a pleasure to commentate with you look forward to working with you again sometime hopefully yeah I'd like to just give a huge thanks to the freeride world to her family for having me along on the ride and to my man Neil here for letting me lean on him and helping me figure out what's going on showing me the ropes it's been a it's been a humbling and pretty special experience to be part of the freeride world tour so that is it for us here in Andorra or Dino our Calise signing out and we would like to say goodbye and thank you to everyone involved and we'll see you in Verbier thanks to you thanks to the riders let's have a good time in two weeks 23 to the 31st of
