- So we got this guy. He's acting kind of weird still. [police radio chatter] Hold on. Driver. Exit your vehicle. Driver. Exit. Come here. Come here. Stop right there. Anybody else there? - A good friend of mine. - Front seat?
In the back seat? Where's the back seat-- is he behind you? - It's a child, man. - Child? - Child. OK. Yeah. Do not move, you understand? The reason I stopped you
is because you're speeding. You're going 80 miles
an hour in a 60. And I can also detect a strong
odor of alcohol beverages coming from you. Yes, I can, sir. You can lie to me
all you want, but I know what I can detect, OK. - There's a two-year-old just
lying in the back seat asleep. It's her car and
her child in there. She's so messed up she has
no idea where she's at. - OK. - How come your child is
not secured right now? He's not your-- your child
is supposed to be in a seat, in a child restraining seat. Your child's not even on a seat. He's just laying in
the back seat, ma'am. - Here's the thing-- - Do you understand
how dangerous that is? - But the thing is, like-- - There's no thing. - She picked me up. I don't have a car. - Who's she? Are you talking
about the driver? - Mm-hmm. - The driver wasn't a she. She's heavily intoxicated. There's two-year-old right there
in the back seat just laying down. I mean, she has a seat belt,
the middle seat belt on, but I mean, that's not
going to protect the child. If they would have hit
somebody, that child was just going to go
through the seat belt. - I'm going to go ahead and
start CPS because it takes them so long, and then if
we don't need them, we can always cancel them. - OK. Yeah, we're going to start,
like he said, CPS, and someone for the child, because that's
not a place to be at right now. OK, so how much have
you had to drink? - Some wine. - How much is some wine? - Like, a small [inaudible]. I just literally
drank some wine. And me and her was
talking about some things. She's going to the Air Force. - OK. What time did you
finish drinking? - About 10 minutes ago. - About 10 minutes ago. - I drank, like,
a bottle of wine-- not even a bottle of wine-- - A bottle of wine? - It was three of us
with a bottle of wine. - Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here.
[crying] Come here.
Listen. - He's going to sit with
you and talk with you. - Listen you're going to come
and talk to me over here. Your child is going to
be with Trooper Foster. OK? Ma'am, you can't even
stand up by yourself. - Yes, I can.
- You can't even-- - No, I'm good.
- I'm telling you right now-- - No, I'm good. - Listen, you're not
under arrest right now, but if you start acting up-- - I'm fine. - All right let's come--
let's talk over here. - I'm fine. - We did call CPA to
come for her child because she's going up and
down, swinging up and down. But it's definitely, I think,
one of the worst situations that we could have. - Who do you have
where the baby can go? - Nobody. To my house, that's all,
because that's my son. - OK. Do you have a family member-- - No, I don't. My parents are dead. I don't have anybody. My friend was in the car with
me and she's gone so take him, I guess.
[bleep] - I don't want to take him. - OK, well, you got to do what
you got to do, so take him. - While we were
doing the search, we found this open
container right here, sangria, in the passenger seat
where the mother was sitting at. Also this vial, which
doesn't have a label on it or anything, but that
could possibly be PCP. I'm going to take her to jail
for public intox at this point. Even if she goes home, she
can't take care over anybody. She can't even take over
herself right now, I believe. She can't take care of her kid. Now the car's being towed. The driver and the
passenger both went to jail, one for public intox
of passenger and the other one for driving under the influence. We're able to get the child
a safe home for tonight. As a parent, it just-- it sucks. I mean, it just-- it's unbelievable. And I really hope for
the best for the child. I'm probably never going to see
him again, but I hope the best.
