So you got your driver's license? - Yeah. - You guys heading home? - Yes. - [inaudible] - OK? - What? - You [inaudible]. - He's mouthing at you. - Why are mouthing? - [inaudible] This is not-- - Why don't you keep walking? - [bleep] dude. - Hey, go ahead. We'll have a conversation with him. Y'all be safe. Enjoy that ice cream. - Be safe over there. - Get a different flavor next time, buddy. See y'all later. - Thank you. [beeping] - This gentleman wanted to obstruct during my traffic stop. [beeping] You know it's against the law for you to interfere with me while I'm doing my business? Did you know that? It's called obstruction or interfering with a police officer while he's conducting business. I'm trying to talk to that driver. You're screaming and yelling at me and taking my attention off that driver. So I finished with them. So I'm up here with you. What can I help you with, sir? - No, I just think-- - No, you're saying something. You were yelling about it. And you were pretty upset about it. So what can I help you with, sir? - I mean, it's a normal street. It's highway. - That made no sense. It's a normal street highway. I don't understand you. - Like, why are you guys patrolling normal streets when the highway cops? - Is that what we're called? Is that what we're called, highway cops? - Yeah. - It is? - We'll come over. Let's see what it says on my car. Go on, I want to see if it says highway cops. - It says highway patrol, right? - What's it say right here? - Oklahoma Highway Patrol. - OK. So what's it say right here? - State trooper. - State trooper. So by the term state, what do you think that means? Step back up here for me, sir. So by the term state trooper, what do you think that means? What do you think that probably means? What would lead some to believe? - You're a law enforcement officer. - That our-- that our jurisdiction is what? - Everywhere. - Within what border? - The state. - Thus the term? - State officer. - Trooper. - I apologize. - So back to your previous-- back to your previous question, we're good? You sure? - Yes, sir. - OK. So we're-- - I apologize. I'm in a bad day. - Learned a little something, right? Let's not yell at a state trooper. The surprising part was the traffic stop wasn't handled badly and I was thinking that he wasn't acting to bad. Then he had to go and harass this guy simply because he said something he didn't like.. and I was reminded that all pigs are assholes

This was all about "Contempt of cop". The cop was shown to be a bitch on national TV, and his ego demanded that he respond.

There are two important lessons I learned here:

1) if confronted in real life ACAB idiots would just back down and cower because they don't have a screen in front of them

2) troopers actually correct you and HARD if you don't understand that they're a trooper.

I treat all of my interactions with cops like I am dealing with an emotionally handicapped child with a loaded gun, not because I'm a coward but because "if confronted in real life" if you don't back down and cower your options are

1) They create a situation in which they can shoot you

2) They create a situation in which they can create a charge and an arrest

Or

3) They do both

So yeah, I smile, and nod, and am super respectful. I literally act the same way as when I worked with children.

Because cops are giant, dangerous, children.
