Little Jimmy Dickens' Funeral Held At Grand Ole Opry

hundreds of people said goodbye to a country music icon this afternoon the Grand Ole Opry held services for its longest-running member little Jimmy Dickens newsChannel 5's Chris cannon was there as they honored a legend fans came to the Grand Ole Opry House to see little Jimmy Dickens one last time Susan Brown traveled all the way from Florence Alabama I loved it I just I just I mean I love all the entertainers favorite the most to me gloriously wavy under an emotional farewell to a country music legend the people who knew little jimmy best walked on to the iconic Opry stage to celebrate a man so many loved the loss of little Jimmy Dickens is incalculable for country music as it represents the end of an era little Jimmy entertained for more than seventy years six decades of which he graced the Opry stage simply put the man loved us and we loved him back his cause of death may be listed as cardiac arrest but I choose to believe the man simply emptied his entire heart into the hearts of others then sings in the front row little Jimmy's family watched as Music City said goodbye not only to an amazing performer but also an amazing person we're all better people by mile cuz we knew this man and that makes saying goodbye to little Jimmy that much more difficult well 94 your journey has ended and but we'll take it here little buddy how great though this is the program from today's service and they called it a celebration of life and that's what each and every person who sang or spoke at the service did celebrated the more than 70 years that little Jimmy Dickens entertained all of us at the Grand Ole Opry house Chris cannon news channel 5 HD Chris thank you the funeral procession left the Opera House after today's two hours service and brought Little Jimmy to his final resting place at Woodland Cemetery
