[Music] if you saw the original 11 mini review that we did my recommendation for that case was don't buy it if you want to use it as a mid tower because although it is a mid tower size you know a lot of the stuff that you would typically use it for just wasn't there so let's take a look at the new air version which is it's not the same case it just isn't the same at all so let me show you what's different all right standard procedure let's pull the panels off now the panel removal is the same as the other o11 cases where you take off the top panel and then we can take off the side panel and take off that new mesh front panel and it it kind of has the appearance that you know they pulled some of their resources from the sunnyside up case because the mesh density is almost exactly the same here so that's how you can tell that they're related companies the tooling is very similar it feels like a meshlicious rear panel removal same as usual as well two thumb screws pull it out this same retention bar for cable management everything is still here screw at the bottom which i never put back in because it's kind of annoying just remove that because it hooks in we don't need the screw down there on the original 011 mini this hard drive rack was actually down here and the power supply was at the top what they've done here is they have made this case wider the original case was 269.5 millimeters wide this one is 288 millimeters wide because they actually listened and now you can use a regular power supply in the 011 mini they physically made the case wider so they call the master v gold v2 850 watt power supply this would probably be the maximum size i would recommend nothing bigger than this anything smaller would also be fine too but look they listened something new here is ssd and hard disk mounting with these removable plates again thumb screws they never do their thumb screws up too tight for it to be annoying and use a screwdriver but as you can see these are removable and instead of it being a 280 mil side mount it is now a 240 mil side mount so you can do two 120s here or a 240 mil aio if that's what you want to do as well as mentioned earlier you've got these hard disk sleds here which you can remove this rear bracket and you can just slide these only black components out of the case but it doesn't matter it just saves them time making it that color you don't see it anyway and you just push them back in they clip back in and bob is your proverbial uncle in terms of motherboard support and the internal layout uh the keynote out there would have noticed that this no longer has an angled panel that kind of folds away it is now a right angled panel with the cable grommets also being at a right angle as well and there's no metal bracket that needs to be installed to extend the motherboard tray out it's all here ready to go so they have improved that i think this is better and what they've done is they've got little markings here that say number seven is seven slot mode number five is five slot mode and matx only mode as well so they have somewhat listened what this means is you can go atx itx matx uh eatx uh you could do it i think it would just hang over the motherboard trace i don't think there would be much of an issue with that much like the original o11 mini you can change the layout of this case as well by removing this whole rear of the case essentially and changing it to be more in line with let's say an itx build or matx just by using the thumb screws now i'm not going to really go into depth with this because we've really covered this with the original 011 mini review but i would say have to take that fan out but essentially what you can do here is you can move the layout on the rear here and you can then you know it comes with a blanking panel as well you know this is the idea of it essentially without obviously having these pcie slots but you can move it up and down at will so for an itx build this is probably the way that i would go and matx i would definitely move it down so you can get more clearance at the top of the case for the included fans you've got that white 120 mil fan at the back of the case pre-installed there's also two whitely only 140 fans up the front that are also pre-installed and the way you take these out is you pull out these screws that hold fan brackets in there's two individual fan brackets here so essentially what you can do here is you can remove these fans if you like put any fans that you want at the front no problem it doesn't matter do whatever you want right so these fan brackets obviously they've got the pre-installed fan flip it around to take a bit of a look at the back it's got 140 mil fan mount holes there so you can do a 280 mil area if you're lucky maybe most likely at the front and you can also do 120mm fans as well it's got the slits cut out for them for that so you know do that if you want you can you can't whatever you want to do i'm not telling you what to do removing the fans once they're unscrewed you just lift them up they come out off the bracket and to put them back in you just hook them down but you do need to do it in a certain order you need to take the top one out first and then take the bottom one out so then you can you have to do it in that order specifically if you've got a radiator mounted at the front if that's what you wanted to do you will need to you know mount them at the same time dust filtration is handled the same as usual because this is technically a chimney layout case just got this one dust filter at the bottom and just slides out like a tray same as all the other leon lee cases almost everything you've seen so far is more of the same it's a pretty standard 011 case pretty much the same as the 011 mini until these few things i'm going to point out now this is the gigabyte rtx 3090 vision and look we'll just dummy mount the gpu you can already see that something is different here right the case appears to be shorter they made the case two centimeters shorter than the o11 mini which means you are now reducing your gpu clearance by that amount as well not only that you're reducing your ability to put longer gpus if you wanted to front mount a cooler which it just doesn't make sense to me why they would make the case shorter and not just leave it the same length sure make it wider but why would they do that and the weirdness doesn't stop there in the original mini you could offset the top fans and mount a 360mm rat at the top because they've made this two centimeters shorter they're basically saying we don't want you to do that so what they've done with these fan brackets is this stops you from doing it which means if you want to put three 120mm fans even in the top it won't go in you remove this bracket and sometimes you'll need to remove this fan for this to work and then only then with a little bit of ninjutsu can you make that even fit right so now if you wanted to mount an aio at the top a 360mm aio even with the offset kit they made specifically for this case that they sent with this case you still can't mount a 360 mil rod at the top of the case it doesn't make sense not only that the with a rear fan installed and it pushed all the way to the bottom of its mounting still impossible to do it i'm not sure what they were thinking making the case two centimeters shorter it just doesn't make sense to me the biggest complaint i had about the original mini was he didn't know what it was trying to be and this is only telling you what they want it to be still without giving you the option so that's a massive missed opportunity and i know people and other reviewers are not going to agree with me but my feelings on this are pretty strong give me the option to do what i want the other big change here which i don't think is that much of an issue but i thought it was worth mentioning is you can no longer do 280 mil rads or whatever on the side you can only do a 240 if you really wanted to but because this is less of a traditional chimney case i would say not to do that front panel wiring is the same as usual power switch hard disk activity light and power button front panel audio usb type c front panel connector and usb 3.0 front panel connector there are some differences with the rear panel as well so it has that very meshalicious esque finish with the holes and the density of the holes but if we flip it around you'll notice that the kind of magnetic strips here for sticking filters on are now gone a question where probably likely to get is can you buy this mesh front panel for your existing 011 mini and the answer would probably be no because this panel is wider than the regular mini well i mean the whole case is wider so probably not not only that there's no way to mount fans behind this on the regular one so what i'm thinking here is leon lee wants you to buy a whole new case simple as that i'm not trying to purposely hate on the 011 air mini i feel like a few sacrifices have been made again that they could have rectified by basically leaving it the same length as the original so there are a few things that i'm a bit disappointed about even before building in it the truth is i'm just slightly disappointed and that's basically it but we're not seeing the whole story yet because we haven't built it yet so let's do our usual thing let's do a build let's test the thermals and then we can come to a proper conclusion and make up our minds on the o11 air mini so let's get building [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] all right ladies and gents i hope you enjoyed the build in the leon lee 011 er mini all right let's take a look at the thermal straight off the bat what you're seeing on your screen right now is the thermals are actually pretty good for this case considering i used a 12 core cpu and a 30 90 with a 240 mil aio now i would go as far as saying because there's about four billion fans in this case that would help as well but i think that the thermals on the air mini are very good and if i had a bigger cooler that was white i would have gone with that and used that too and the thermals would have been even better but i still think like for a 240 mil aio and the cpu it's it's excellent it's it's it's really really good i did actually test with the fans and exhaust on the side but there was little to no difference from what i observed it might be different if we use a different cooler or something like that but who knows we'll come back to this another time i'm gonna obviously revisit this case with a much more complicated setup but you know for the purposes of this review this is what we've got okay let's chat about all the parts in the system the cpu is the amd ryzen 9 5900x we put the 5900x on the gigabyte x570s aero g to call the 5900x we use the phanteks glacier one 240 mph the white version of that the ram is 32 gigs of team group extreme argb in white the gpu is the gigabyte rtx 3090 vision oc all the fans in the case are sl uni fans there's two 140 uni fans in the front and the rest are the 120 uni fans all throughout the cable extensions you're seeing here are the leonleigh streamer cable extensions they're all rgb and they're all of the blings and i figured you know what we haven't used them in a while and would kind of suit this build so why the heck not and if i missed anything else in this build i'll put a pc pop picker list down below in the description you can check that out at your leisure and all that jazz and everything and everything in between okay let's chat about the 011 air mini right so building construction wise the quality of the case is as expected quite good i think that leon lee actually nailed this again with this case it's got a very meshlicious finish with the paint finish as well as the new mesh panels the density of the holes are the same as the meshlicious well i mean as far as i can tell it feels the same as well the weight of the panel also feels the same as the panels from that case too and because uh sopdi or sunnyside up is a sister company of leon lee this would only make sense so there's the answer to that i didn't talk about this in the first part of the video because i did film it actually but i didn't include it but bottom fan mounting what i found was you can do two 140s or two 120s in the bottom you can do three 120s but you're kind of blocking off a little bit on the bottom so that's why i didn't really talk about that because after building with it there are a few things that i discovered and what i did as well is sometimes when we do these videos i'll edit and then i'll come back to figure out what i want to say at the end of the video so everything just makes a bit more sense now i might have been a little bit harsh on this case like i get it i understand the use case but again two centimeters shorter and we can't do a 360 ml aio at the top even though leon lee has an offset kit and with the extra width of the case it would have fit without an offset kit anyway now i get that they're trying to limit the size of this case and they kind of always do this when they do their miniaturized cases but the problem here is they've made it wider so it's just a it's still a big case but it's not but it is but it's not that's the thing this is more of a cube than the other mini like the o11 mini so i just don't understand why they couldn't have just made it two centimeters it's just two centimeters it's nothing we call that a bee's dick here in australia it's absolutely nothing i can't believe i said b's dick in a video [Laughter] look i gotta say that the o11 air mini is better than the 011 mini it feels like it's easier to build in because you can put that full size atx power supply in the back now that's a major win for people who are holding back on the original 011 mini a lot of people have come and said to me you know what i'm not going to buy it because i need to buy an sfx power supply and they are usually way more expensive you're absolutely right and leon lee did listen to everyone in regards to that so i'll give them points for that but them addressing the top 360 rad mounting without really addressing it by basically deleting it by making the case shorter again i'm just gonna keep dwelling on this because it just has so much potential to be the ultimate mix of of of small case and hype high airflow and high performance it's just so close it's oh it frustrates me so at the end of the day like how do i feel about this case directly compared to the o11 mini i'll say it again this is better but uh still a little bit disappointing but don't get me wrong i'm not saying don't buy it because if you're interested in the leon lee 011 air mini in white at least it's going for 109 us dollars and i think that is phenomenal value absolutely phenomenal value i'm not saying don't buy the case there's a few things that annoy me about it but you know considering the price and the physical size of the case yeah much much much much better so i would say that i think leon lee was listening but maybe not to the whole story and that's just about going to do it for what i think about this case if you guys like this video do hit the like button if you hated hit the dislike button twice once again thank you so very much for watching on my boy nick with gear seekers you peek we seek and now ladies and gentlemen it's time to engage cinematic mode let's uh get fancy [Music] [Music] [Music] is all right [Music] [Music] bye
