hey what's up guys so I know a lot of you been waiting for your electric xbe bikes to arrive I know you've been waiting to get your bikes and I wanted to go over a couple things today of things that you should look out for when you receive your bikes a few things that you guys should be doing before you ride your bikes and things to keep an eye out on after you've ridden them for a while so I hope this will help you guys in preventing you from damaging a few things on your bikes as well as getting you ready to ride now I'm no mechanic but this is just my experience with the bike and some of the things that I've learned over the past I don't know six or eight months of owning one okay now I know I'm probably gonna forget a few things so if you guys have one of these bikes and notice that I forgot anything in this video please put it down in the comments below to help others out and also if you've been waiting on your bike and haven't got it yet please post down below what color you ordered and how long you guys been waiting but in my opinion it's worth the wait so just keep holding it'll be here soon enough now one of the main things that you want to make sure when you get this bike is that you go over all the nuts and bolts on the whole bike you want to make sure you have everything tightened make sure nothing came loose or bolts missing anywhere on the bike as far as the wheels the seat the clamps everything over the whole bike discover the whole thing and make sure everything is tight now one important thing that you guys should do is you should take rubbing alcohol and wipe off your disks here for your brakes you want to wipe those off because you want to remove any oils or anything that may be on there from assembling the bike or from manufacturing the rotors and then you're also probably more than likely going to have to adjust your your brakes which you'll be adjusting from this thing here now I'm not going to go into complete detail about how to adjust those but there are some pretty good videos on YouTube about how to adjust manual disc brakes so if you guys want to go ahead and check those out like I said there's plenty of them I may do a video of this in the future so if you guys want to see that make sure you subscribe and hit that bell so you get notified if I do now a couple other things that you guys should know is if you get any errors on your on your display while you're riding some of the connections that you're going to want to check is your rear motor connection here it just plugs together here you want to make sure that's nice and tight and you also want to make sure your display is nice and tight with this can they're up here as far as I can tell those are basically the only only two connectors that I see on them on the bike other than the headlight connector down here but sometimes those get loose in shipping and sometimes they can vibrate loose possibly while you're riding so you just want to double check those if you get any error codes while you're riding now one main important thing that I want to go over with you guys on and what probably one of the main reasons I wanted to make this video is to show you guys a few tricks about folding your bike and a couple things to look out for so first of all you guys know that the key goes up underneath here and one of the main things about folding this bike is if you try to fold your bike with the key in and your pedals are in the wrong position like this and you go to fold that frame in half these pedals and your cranks can hit your key and bend it or break it off in the hole for your key so you definitely don't want to do that you want to make sure you remove your key before you fold your bike up or you want to make sure that your pedals or pretty much like that so when you fold it it doesn't hit your key but I recommend just taking the key out and not having to worry about it now with that being said if you guys do want to fold your bike up and take your battery out now there's three different positions on the key so basically you can have the battery lock on the bike and still remove the key or you turn the key to the on position to ride the bike or you can turn the key all the way back and that unlocks your battery now if you unlock your battery before you open up your bike there is a possibility that your battery is going to slide out of your frame and land on the ground hit the concrete pavement or whatnot which is what almost happened to me but luckily enough I caught it fast enough so one of two things you either want to keep your battery locked into place until you open your bike and then unlock it and remove that but if you do that you risk bending your key or you can remove the key open up your bike reinsert the key and then unlock the battery or what I do is you can unlock your battery before you unfold it remove the key but then the main thing is on your charge port you have a rubber plug that goes into your charge port here you want to leave that installed and it you can see it goes in there but if you have this installed and your battery is unlocked when you open up your frame that's pretty much gonna hold your battery and keep it from sliding out and also with that being said if you're removing your battery make sure you remove this so it doesn't get jammed in there while you're pulling your battery out or you don't break your handle of your battery off so main thing is folding your bike up watch you don't bend your key with the pedals and watch you if you unlock your battery and have that plug out when you open your bike your battery could slide out very easily all right guys so now I'm going to show you real quick I'm gonna take the I'm gonna unfold the bike just to show you since we're on the battery topic right now so basically I'm gonna unlock the battery remove the key and then go ahead and open it up so I got my rubber plug in and you'll see how the battery stays in there when the keys out so like I said if this pedal was up here it could hit your key and break it or bend it off as you were folding it now I'm going to show you real quick if that plug were to be removed I'm gonna hold it but that rubber plug was removed watch this see it your battery could just slide out easily so basically what I wanted to show you guys though on this battery here when you first ride your bike go for a test ride at first you're probably going to get a pretty good rattle up in your frame here and basically what that is is your battery is it does fit pretty tightly in this frame but it does have a little bit of a rattle in your battery wool will rattle inside there so basically what I did was just take a couple small little felt pads here and I put two on the bottom and two on each side in the back and that prevented the battery from rattling around in there and it makes it really nice and quiet and that actually probably helps the batteries sliding out a lot easier but I would rather not have the rattle that I had when I didn't have these installed so that's just a quick trick to kind of quiet your battery up from rattling around in your frame all right guys so now a quick tip before you ride your bike basically I recommend that if you haven't ridden a bike in a while or if you've never rode on an electric bike you want to start out in pedal assist zero and get a little bit used to the bike before you kick it up into PAS one and the main important thing is when you're starting to ride this bike and learning how to ride it is to make sure that you do not pedal through your turns if anything let off the pedals if you need a little bit to get around the turn or whatever you can use the throttle slightly but do not I repeat do not pedal in the turns unless you're really used to the bike and had some experience on one because what's going to happen is as you're turning if you turn the pedal slightly and that motor engages it's going to take off and it could throw you so just be very cautious into your turns with the pedal assist being on don't forget to even check when you guys are checking your bolts and everything make sure you guys check this little bolt right here that goes in your that holds your quick locking mechanism there's a little tiny bolt inside this hole here and if you guys can see that right there but make sure you guys tighten that up because mine was actually loose a little bit which made this clamp just slightly loose now one thing I did notice on the bike is that I do get a lot of creeks in this stem here where it goes down in now I did notice that like if I'm getting a lot of creeks I'll just unclamp this and then just move the bar slightly and then wreak lamp it and usually it clears it up but when it sits for a while it ends up doing that again but it like I said it's no big deal I just unlock that pick it up or down a little bit and relock it and then usually the creaking and everything goes away I initially thought the creaking was coming out from down here but it's not it's actually coming from in here where this slides up and down let's see what else is important that you guys should know oh yeah so once you guys have ridden for a while your spokes are probably at some point probably going to get a little bit loose and need adjusted I believe I think it's a five millimeter I could be wrong four millimeter or five millimeter spoke wrench which if you guys haven't seen my accessory video make sure you guys check that out because it shows you some pretty good accessories of the tools and stuff that I use and some of the stuff that I recommend so I'll put links down below in the description to all that all my accessories and everything for this bike if you guys want to check that out or if you want to see my accessory video I'll put a link to that in the description as well but on these spokes once you've rat for a while you may hear a little bit of creaking in the back wheel like a I don't know it's really hard to explain what it does but you have the power of that 500 watt motor constantly turning on them spokes and like I said over time they probably will need to adjust it a little bit so basically there's some really good videos on YouTube about how to true a rim you should watch one of those just to see what what effects tightening your spokes does have to your wheels if you guys don't feel comfortable doing this you might want to take it to a bike shop and have them do it but I had the tight in mind once already there was a few loose I just put it on there and made snug them a couple loose ones up a little bit and then I went around the whole wheel and just made sure they were all fairly tight not to over tighten any or anything like that and not to you know get my rim out of true so it doesn't start wobbling but just keep that in mind guys you might want to check your spokes every now and then and basically I just check mine like this I just you know go around squeeze them make sure none seem really loose or anything like that but if you do hear a weird like creaking noise in your in your rear wheel every like rotation of your rim you may have some loose spokes let's see what else oh I think I seen on a forum somewhere about somebody's bike had their zip-tied installed I think it was on an electric bike had the zip tie installed over this cable right here so you want to make sure that this cable was free from the zip tie here and I also mentioned that when I did my free freewheel replacement I did mention when you put in that zip tie back on make sure not to get that cable in there oh yeah I almost forgot one of the other main things that you guys are going to want to know is if your bike won't shift into the higher gears which is the smaller sprocket let me brighten this up a little bit so if your bike won't into the higher gears which is your smaller sprocket that more than likely from shipping your derailleur guard which is right here got bent and basically what you want to do is if you're shifting up into your higher gears like gear six and seven and it won't go what happens is this derailleur comes out and hits this derailleur guard because this guard gets bent in so if you notice that this is touching your derailleur guard when you're trying to go up into seventh gear basically if it is touching you just grab this and you pull it out you know just give it a good tug pull it out and unbend it that way this is not touching your derailleur your derailleur should never touch this guard you should have a little gap back there when you're in seventh gear and I see those get bent a lot during shipping and another thing if you guys haven't seen my unboxing video check that out it'll show you some of the damages my bike had when I received it make sure you go over make sure you check make sure you don't have any damage mine was damaged right here they did send me some touch-up paint for that to fix that my rack was bent and some other things so just make sure you guys check it over really good make sure you email them guys if you have anything bent or damaged in more than likely they'll take care of it no problems all right guys one last thing you want to make sure is that you check your tire pressure before riding the bike and the tire pressure I like to have mine right around 20 psi s because it still gives you a little bit of cushion it may give you slightly less mileage as far as your max range but I prefer to have a little cushion on the ride so that's usually right around what I run my attire is at but feel free to play with the pressures in them and see what's more comfortable for you but I hope you guys found this video useful or helpful and if you did please place a comment below it really helps my channel out and don't forget to subscribe and hit that bell so you guys get notified at my next video and I will definitely see you guys around on the next one also guys make sure you check out my playlist I have many different videos about this bike on there a lot of different things about how to change settings how to increase your max speed how to set cruise control and a few cool features with cruise control to pedal slower than your max speed all those are in my playlist which I'll link down below in the description of this video so if you guys want to check that out I'd really appreciate it and place a comment below guys if you guys been waiting for your bikes how long what color bike you ordered and how long you've been waiting please let us know down below and I will see you guys maybe out on the bike trail sometime maybe out riding who knows but thank you guys for watching and I will see you guys on the next one
