hello Travelers Borman 21 here and today I wanted to cover a quick crafting tip and trick and I've had a few crafting videos I've done before where we cover everything but in this case I just want to go over two runes specifically and that's going to be the ru of shattering and the ruin of removal just if you're really new to crafting or especially with like 1.0 coming up being a new character being a new player to the game a way to maximize the number of fixes that you're getting off of an item because a lot of people can get confused between the two so I just want to show how it works and so just to go over them really quick a ruin of shattering destroys an item creating a random number of AIX shards containing its power so what this means is if I use this on this item there is a chance that I'll get back some Critical Strike chance shards some increased minion damage shards some health Health shards and some physical resistance shards I probably won't get all of them there's a very low chance of getting all of them and if I do get all of them I probably won't get them back in the number of tiers there are in this case I would get three Critical Strike chance ones four minion ones four health and five physical resist the odds of getting all of them back I believe is very very slim I don't have the exact formula but I know that it's just never really happened for me however let's say that there's a very let's say that you need some Minion damage and if you shatter this if you use a runin of shattering there's a slight chance you may not get any minion damage back from this if you want to put on another item so early game brand new player fresh starting a cycle that could be very important because it can be very hard to get some of the fixes you need to really make a build pop so what you want to use instead of a ruin of shattering is a ruin of removal now most people use the ruin of removal or when they think about it they just want to get rid of like one random of fix like say on this thing you really don't need Critical Strike chance because you're doing a minion build so you'd rather have minion damage and say in or something else that Buffs the minions as well so you try and use a rune of removal to try and get you'll have a 25% chance but you're trying to remove that effect so you can put something else in that slot which is all fair and well the other way that you can use a ruin of removal is it removes a random AIX on an item returning a number of shards equal to its tier so if we use the ruin of of removal instead of a shattering whichever one this takes off we get the full amount of shards back and on this item say that it gave us physical resist back will'll get a full five shards now you might be thinking why not just use four of these on the item instead of doing a shattering well this item unlike shattering uses forging potential so you may not be able to get all the affixes off before you run out of forging potential and then you can't shatter it or remove it so that's where there's kind of that drawback so if you have a lot of forging potential I recommend using the Rune of removal and if you use the Rune of removal remember to use the glyph of Hope with with it for a chance that it doesn't cost any forging potential so you can get even more off and I'll show you an example of this so for instance on this one if we use the ruin of removal I'm guaranteed to get one before I run out of forging potential again I have 13 forging potential on it this craft is going to cost randomly between 1 to 25 forging potential with a 25% chance to cost nothing so if I remove it we got lucky the glyph of Hope saved us and we were able to get back three Critical Strike shards nice we could use it again it only used two forging potential and you can see we got back four minion shards again we got lucky again got all five physical resist shards in this case we're going to get everything back on it we got really lucky now if I go to another item say this one which has less total tiers on it so let's let's actually find one here this one's got this is a tier 20 item this is the most on a yellow that we can have here this has more than the original if we use the Rune of shattering here you will see we actually only got back that 6 7 8 9 we only got back nine total shards out of the 20 shards that you could have gotten with the Rune of removal so that's the difference between the two so you might want to think about it if you have a log of forging potential on an item you can pretty much guaranteed to get the fixes you want whereas if you don't have much forting potential you might try and just shatter it to get the AIX you need but again when you shatter it like that there's a chance you're not going to get any of the one that you're looking for so that's just the difference between the two wanted to cover it so there a different way of thinking about it I know most people with the ruin of removal only think to use it when they're trying to remove one AIX not for the affixes but to open up that slot for a different fix on that good item that they have but I hope that helps you guys as always stay safe and have a good [Music] one
