Kreia was once a Jedi Master. A mystic
and historian, whose unused eyesight waned as she relied on marathon meditations to
penetrate the mysteries of the universe. By her own admission, she had the
capability to heal her sightless eyes, but she had found her physical sight proved
to be a distraction, as she could perceive the world around her through the Force, an
invisible energy that connected all things. "When one relies on sight to perceive the world, it is like trying to stare at the
galaxy through a crack in the door.” But that is a lesson for another time. You must learn to see crude matter for what it is before the veil is lifted. As a Jedi Master, Kreia challenged her
apprentices, her Padawans, with difficult questions. Lightsabers, weapons wielded by the
Jedi, were a common subject of her teachings. “A Jedi tool and Sith weapon….” "If a lightsaber loses its power, is
it still a lightsaber?” she would ask. "And if a Jedi loses her powers, is she still a
Jedi?" Her peers named these challenging ideas "Kreia's conundrums." They found them quaint, but
her Knights-in-training were spellbound by them. Kreia’s life was changed forever when one student,
Revan, came under her tutelage. “He came to me, yes. Both before and after, before Revan knew
himself. And after, in the times he was coming into his own and learning he was more than he had
been told. At one time, Revan was my Padawan.” To understand Kreia’s choices, it is of critical
importance to understand the importance of Revan, not only to her, but to the galaxy, as he
played an important role in the events to come, reshaped the galaxy, and made the view
of the Force, Kreia’s view in particular, much different.
Revan Jedi Knights are noted for their lightsabers
and their natural ability to harness the powers of the Force, the invisible energy
that connects everything in the universe. The Jedi are viewed as guardians of peace
and justice in the Galactic Republic. In times of distress, the Galactic Republic
would turn to the Jedi Order and its council for guidance and aid. Such was the time when a
group of the Mandalorian warrior culture that originated on the Outer Rim world of Mandalore,
attacked the Republic. The council of the Jedi…. Counseled caution and patience to assess the Mandalorian threat as the outer rim burned. Revan, serving under the guiding hand of the Jedi council wanted to act. He came to Kreia, his teacher, for guidance, as the Mandalorian wars waged on, killing countless innocents. He came to me, yes, both before and after. Before Revan knew himself, and after, in the times Revan was coming into his own and learning he was more than he had been told. At one time, Revan was my Padawan, in times past long ago. It is unknown what she had told him exactly, but soon after talking to Kreia, Revan decided to openly defy the Jedi council, and leading other rogue Jedi to battle against the invading Mandalorians to protect the Republic. In the eyes of the council, Revan's actions, his defiance, were seen as a fall to the dark side of the Force. The Mandalorian wars are raging, killing countless
innocents. Revan has just left the Jedi Order and amassed a following of Jedi Knights who
want to protect the Galactic Republic from the Mandalorians. While scouting for
bases along the Outer Rim, Revan hears stories of a world the Mandalorians are forbidden
to step foot on according to their culture. He searches for it and discovers the planet
Malachor V. Wishing to learn why Malachor V was such a taboo world to the Mandalorians,
and seeing an opportunity in such a place, Revan secretly investigates the planet, not even
telling his own apprentice where he had gone. He is unaware that he is about to discover
far more than what he was looking for. Revan unearths the remains of entire cities buried
beneath the planet’s surface. He comes across the ruins of the Trayus Academy, a place
of learning bathed in the dark side energy, and within he finds countless records of Sith
knowledge and history. It becomes apparent that the Ancient Sith, wielders
of the dark side of the Force, had once inhabited this place, but
abandoned it at one point in time. From the moment he set foot on the planet, Revan felt the dark side energies of this place.,
“Revan knew the power of such places…” Upon discovering the potential of Malachor V,
Revan decides to use it. He uses Malachor's dark side energies to bind the most trusted of
his followers to his will, ensuring they would do as he’d command. In secret, Revan constructs
a stronghold on this planet, reinstituting the Trayus Academy. None of this had been seen by the
eyes of the Republic, and they found no reason to distrust or doubt Revan at this point in time.
This certainly makes it appear as though Revan was consumed by the dark side, but that may
not necessarily be the case, as we’ll see. One year later, having amassed a
formidable army of Jedi, bound to his will, Revan forces a final confrontation
with the Mandalorians above Malachor V, luring them here with the intent to end the
war once and for all. In utter secrecy, hidden from the eyes of the Republic, he had prepared a
superweapon, known as the "Mass Shadow Generator," which was to be the centerpiece of a trap, waiting
for the Mandalorians to be at the right place at the right moment. Revan lures the Mandalorians
to Malachor V, and as the fighting grows intense, one of his most trusted generals
activates the Mass Shadow Generator. In the resulting cataclysm, a significant portion
of both the Mandalorian and Republic fleets are drawn from orbit into a vast gravity vortex
powerful enough to crush the countless ships into the planet's crust and fracture the
world to its core. So powerful is this event, that it creates a wound in the Force around the
planet. In an instant, Malachor's gravity crushes every combatant in and around its atmosphere.
Mandalorian, Republic, and Jedi alike. Malachor's surface is now transformed into a
barren, shattered and lifeless wasteland—All of Revan's enemies eliminated in a single stroke.
The planet is left scarred from the battle as the surface has been obliterated. It is important to
note once again that the death and destruction that took place here created a substantial wound
in the Force. All Force sensitive beings that weren't killed by the initial blast from the Mass
Shadow Generator in Malachor’s vicinity were faced with a deafening echo of the Force. It is an echo
of death composed of the screams and deaths of all its victims, An echo that kills any
being capable of hearing it, instantaneously. Most, in particular the Jedi Council,
considered this to be the final act which marked Revan’s full embrace of the
dark side, but Kreia viewed it differently. “He never fell, a difference
between a fall and a sacrifice…” Remarkably, after the Mass Shadow Generator
was activated, the Trayus Academy survived this catastrophic event intact, remaining
on the shattered planet’s surface, waiting. After his victory at Malachor V, Revan focused
on the knowledge he had obtained from the Trayus Academy. He wanted to find the Ancient Sith
he had learned of, In a series of events, Revan discovered a hidden Sith Empire lurking
in the Unknown Regions: the parts of the galaxy that weren’t formally explored or charted.
This Sith Empire was planning an invasion of the known galaxy, and Revan departed on a
solitary quest to stop it and save the galaxy. The galaxy would not learn of his
destination and his fate in the Unknown Regions for centuries to come. That
indeed is a long story for another time, but it is inconsequential to Kreia as she never
saw or heard of Revan or his fate again. Although, many believed that Kreia too had followed Revan
into the Unknown Regions after she was exiled. I did not know where he had gone.
If he had asked, would I have gone? I do not know. But he will need warriors, Sith and Jedi. Any who can be sent
after him into the depths of space Once Revan left the known galaxy, Kreia feared
he had indeed fallen to the dark side. Afraid for her former student, she wanted to find him so she
retraced his footsteps through Force echoes which brought her to Malachor V, or what was left of
it. The wound in the Force caused by Revan’s Mass Shadow Generator called to her. On the planet's
surface, Kreia found Revan's former stronghold, the Trayus Academy, bathed in the energies of
the dark side. She encountered Sith assassins who lingered here, seeking for some form of purpose.
But rather than attack her, they presented the Jedi Master with Sith lore. Being the pursuer
of knowledge she was, she took hold of it. "THE TRUTHS OF THE COSMOS," the Sith writings
stated, "ARE NOT INTENDED FOR THE SANE." Despite the dark energies of this place, Kreia
was Intrigued. She studied the texts through her Force sight, hoping to find a clue that would
point her in Revan’s direction. The Sith sorcerers who wrote these texts claimed privileged insight
into the ultimate truth of the universe. And it was painfully simple. They argued that even though
the contradictory and aimless nature of existence is logical and obvious to all intelligent
beings, that everything and anything is possible, the existence of the Force exposes this obvious
"fact" for a lie, showing that life is not at all aimless, random, and contradictory, and that all
actions of its beings are determined by the Force. Thus, the Force betrays Force-sensitive beings,
forcing them to live in this chaotic universe, under its rules, its will.
This is further confirmed through both Jedi Masters and Sith Lords as both
sides, regardless of dark or light alignment, had the ability to predict future events. This
confirms that the Force guides life on a set path, defining the future by its own will
to achieve some measure of balance, regardless of what it takes, death or life,
darkness or light, to achieve it. But the wounds in the Force at Malachor V appeared to
disrupt this characteristic. Empty of the Force, Force wounds were unpredictable and
unstable in the eyes of Force sensitives. On multiple occasions, Kreia herself
displayed a belief in destiny, in the Force, claiming that the destination is never what is
important, as it’s fixed and predetermined. All paths will take us to the end, whatever it may be,
and no matter how strongly we fight against it. Naturally, a bystander would view such claims
as inspiring, but Kreia viewed them as the bitter truth which could not be denied, but
oh how she wanted to find a way to do it, to make the future unstable and dependent on
our own choices, not by the hand of the Force. It is at this moment, realizing the
truth of the Force, that Kreia decides that the Force itself must be destroyed.
The wound in the Force at Malachor V proves this to be possible. If it
can be wounded, it can be killed. Present at Malachor V, and with the teachings
of the Ancient Sith pouring through her mind, Kreia submitted and embraced the power of the
dark side, taking on the mantle of Darth Traya. She re-established the Trayus Academy to train,
convert, and create a generation of new Sith who would oppose the Jedi who had cast her out,
all the while, keeping her true plans to herself. A clear question arises. If
she wants to destroy the Force, why does she cling to it so, Why does she use it?
Why does she draw on the powers of the dark side? “I use it as I would a poison..” After all, she needed an army, and to build it,
she needed a goal which would unite them. As she came to the remnants of Revan's
Sith Empire as his former master, these Sith there were quick to
pledge their loyalty to her. She then began seeking for other wounds in the
Force in hopes of finding ways to destroy it. Kreia’s quest for Force wounds led her to two
men who would teach her about the power of trust. Darth Nihilus, the Lord of Hunger, and Darth Sion, Lord of Pain. With them, she
created the Sith Triumvirate, intent on eliminating those who had cast her
out of the Jedi Order. They were united by their hatred toward the Jedi. But in time, the ideals
of her apprentice Sith Lords became divergent. First, we must see who they truly
were, beneath the surface, before we see the choices they will make. Much of Darth Nihilus's life is shrouded in
mystery. Before he became Sith, it is known that he was a man who followed Revan to war
against the Mandalorians. He was at Malachor V when the Mass Shadow Generator was activated.
Experiencing this shadow of destruction changed him and it made him crave, hunger, for Force
energy. He became a walking wound in the Force. This illness, for lack of a better term,
created a vast emptiness within his soul, slowly devouring his humanity. In time, he found
that the emptiness within him hungered for more than he could tolerate, and When he fed it for
the first time, he had done so unconsciously, killing another being. Draining the Force from
another living creature was a frightening, nauseating sensation, but for a brief moment, it
was euphoric, as it caused his pain, the illness, and the hunger it was causing, to disappear.
But soon after that, his hunger felt insatiable, and the more he indulged in it, the shorter that
feeling of bliss lasted before an even greater hunger emerged. He fed as much as he could,
killing many, but he always craved more. Where he saw endless suffering, Darth Traya saw potential
and offered to teach him the ability to devour entire planets, leaving them devoid of life. It
is likely she hoped this would cause the wound within him to grow, damaging the Force further to
a point where she could use it to accelerate her plans. Unaware of her plans, however, he accepted
her offer of teaching and became her apprentice. Darth Sion, much like Darth Nihilus, was a wound
in the Force but a relatively different one. His body holding the capability to suffer immense
doses of pain and damage, and yet refusing to fall apart and die. Darth Sion's decomposing flesh
was tethered together with dark side energy. It is inexplicably painful, requiring endless focus on
the rage that festers inside him to maintain it. Seeing potential in him as well, Darth
Traya offered him an apprenticeship, which he accepted. However, though he learned much
from her, Sion found Traya to be a frustrating master. After all, patience is hardly to be
expected from a being of constant pain and rage. With time, Traya underestimated her pupils'
depravity. After she taught Nihilus the ability to devour entire worlds, and after
Sion started to grow weary of her teachings, the two apprentices united against her. Darth Nihilus stripped Traya of her powers through
his dark abilities, allowing for Sion to... After that, Darth Nihilus became
the Dark Lord of the Sith, and Traya had, once again, been betrayed, First
by the Jedi, and now by the Sith. Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus began an assassination campaign
against the Jedi, intent on purging them from the galaxy., unaware that they were doing exactly
what Traya had planned anyway. Because of this, the Jedi, who were either killed by the Sith
or went into hiding, went practically extinct. Now exiled by the Sith as she had
been by the Jedi mere years ago, Darth Traya assumes her former identity as Kreia.
She leaves Malachor V and returns to Republic space, set out to carry her initial plan. She
continues seeking out other wounds in the Force. There is much speculation on how Kreia
regained her connection to the Force after it was severed by Darth Nihilus, and also
how she escaped her two former apprentices. One theory suggests that Darth Nihilus
didn’t entirely sever her connection. He was a creature that devoured the Force energy
from its victims, leaving them dead as a result. Nihilus and Sion likely wanted Kreia stripped of
the Force, exiled and left alive as a final act of humiliation. However, for Darth Nihilus, this
was likely the only time he consumed the Force from another being with the intent on
leaving them alive. Thus, it leaves the possibility that the connection wasn’t entirely
severed. Regardless of what exactly transpired, in the end Kreia was betrayed, cut off from
the Force and exiled, leaving Malachor V. Kreia’s search would guide her to yet another
wound in the Force brought into existence by Revan’s Mass Shadow Generator. A wound was
created around the woman who caused the incident in the first place. We briefly travel back to
the Mandalorian Wars and the detonation of the Mass Shadow Generator. Meetra Surik was one of
Revan’s most trusted generals, and she was the one who gave the order to detonate the Mass Shadow
Generator at Malachor V. She watched silently from the bridge of her command ship as the generator
crushed both the Republic and Mandalorian forces caught in its destructive wake. The ensuing
death and destruction caused such a substantial wound in the Force that the shockwave would
have killed Surik had she not unconsciously, and instinctively, severed her own connection to
it. Thereafter, she was the only Force sensitive being to survive this event, but she was deafened
to the call of the Force; incapable of sensing it. Note that the term “survival” in this context
is a relative thing. Darth Nihilus was there when the Mass Shadow Generator detonated, but
he was affected by it differently than Surik. Where she cut herself off from
the Force to protect herself, Nihilus was exposed to the Force echo
entirely, changing his entire being. It is said that Nihilus is an example of one alternative
outcome of what Surik could have become had she not cut herself off from the Force,
evading the consequences of the Force echo. In words of Master Atris, Surik
carried the wound in the Force She was the only Jedi under Revan
able to turn away from the dark side as she could no longer be
influenced through the Force. It is an irony of a sort. In many ways, even you are
more capable than a Jedi. You could survive where they could not And what are they without the Force? Take the greatest Jedi Knight, They rely on it, depend on
it, more than they know. Watch as one tries to hold a blaster,
as they try to hold a lightsaber, She was also the only Jedi to
willingly return to the Jedi Temple and face trial for her actions
- and also to defend them. At this point in time, Revan’s apprentice,
Malak, told him to use his assassin droid but Revan, who referred to her
as a Jedi "who was already dead," wanted her to face the Jedi Council and
show them the hypocrisy of their teachings, Despite an impassioned plea, claiming
she had saved countless lives the Jedi High Council decreed that
because she had followed Revan to war, Why did you defy us? The Jedi are guardians
of the peace, and have been for centuries. Is Revan your master now? You are exiled, and you are a Jedi no longer. There is one last thing, your lightsaber. Much defiance in that one... You were correct, Kavar.
When she was here, I felt it. More like an echo. We have not lost a Jedi this day. She walked Revan’s path but
she was not strong enough. I fear it is our teachings that may have
led Revan to choose the path he did. We are not the ones who taught him! We take responsibility, Atris, not cast blame. The dark side is not what I sensed in the Exile. Surely the rest of you felt it as well. That emptiness we felt… Whatever that wound was, it is of the dark
side. We should not have let her depart. What would you have done with her,
Atris? Be mindful of your feelings. Malachor V should have been her grave.
You saw it in her walk, and in the Force. No, not death. Many battles remain for
that one, if what we have seen is true. Perhaps in many years we will call her
before us and explain what happened to her, Until then, she must accept her journey. But she may never discover the truth, Then that is the future we must accept. The Council felt that the wound in
the Force already left Surik broken, After that moment, Meetra Surik left known
space, journeying beyond the Outer Rim. She was absent from the galaxy for many years. At this point in time, the following
events have been finalized: Revan left for the Unknown
Regions for the last time. Kreia was exiled by the Sith and her apprentices, Sion and Nihilus,
have almost completely wiped out Meetra Surik has been absent from
most of the known galaxy for years. In Surik’s absence from the known galaxy,
the Sith purged the galaxy of Jedi, and Master Atris, one of the few remaining
Jedi, knew they would want to hunt down So Atris orchestrated Surik’s return to the
known galaxy and leaked that information, in hopes of luring the Sith out of
hiding so that they might be destroyed. News of Meetra Surik, quite an important
figure by this point, spread fast, all three of its original
members, including Kreia. Kreia knew that her two former
students who had exiled her would also but Kreia needed to find her in hopes of
using the force wound that surrounded her, The Republic sent a ship for Surik, the Harbinger. It picked her up and set off to return
her to the planet Telos, where Atris was. The ship was attacked by
the Sith, but Kreia managed From the moment she stepped
on board the Harbinger, including being drugged and placed into
the healing waters of the Kolto tank, Find what you are looking for amongst the dead? I am Kreia, your rescuer - as you are mine. I have felt a disturbance... our
enemy is here. We must leave at once. We need to make our way to the
docking area on this level. They are assassins, and they are
responsible for the attack on the Ebon Hawk We must escape this facility. If
we remain here, then we will die. As they ran from the Sith, in a
series of events, Kreia and the Exile I came to warn you, Jedi. You know not what path you walk. This battle is mine alone. I am not defenseless. He cannot kill what he cannot see,
and power has blinded him long ago. I shall be along shortly. I sense you, my master - faint, weak. Your senses betray you, as you betrayed me. After all that has happened, still
you live. You are difficult to kill. For one as limited as you, perhaps. To
have fallen so far and learnt nothing. The failure is yours. No longer do your whispers crawl within my skull. And now you are in search of the Jedi. They are all dead, save one. Perhaps… Surik felt Kreia’s pain vividly, If they hit us, we're dead, but if
they keep *missing* us, we're dead. Dwee-Dweeerrrr-bee-DEEEEET!
Somebody shut that trash compactor up! Now either they hit us and destroy us What of the asteroids? That will take out the field,
the colony, and maybe us. Then we die here. Choose now. Because, between assassin droids, a Sith Lord
that looks like he sleeps with vibroblades, The Republic warship was the Harbinger. Because you are the last of the Jedi.
Once you are dead, then they have won. To stop them, you will need
weapons, allies, and a teacher. My wound pains me. If you have other
questions, find me in the crew quarters... Hey, don't stop your long, boring rants on
my account. I was just getting sleepy-eyed. Also, in private, we will be mercifully free
from the opinions of imbeciles and fools. especially with that hand of hers. I think she was barely keeping it together. I'm surprised she's able to stand
with all that pain rolling off of her. Well, I mean, a very strong, manly Mynock. In case you hadn’t noticed,
she won’t say two words to me. What you think matters to her, a lot. Besides, we haven’t got
much else to do until Telos. Possibly, yes. And I fear it works both ways.
I would not wish to test it, nor should you. When battle is upon us, It seems the Force flows easily between
us. When one of us manipulates the Force A powerful technique indeed - though, as
we have noticed, it has its drawbacks. It was the ideal opportunity to convince
the Exile to keep the old woman by her side. Kreia also claimed the Exile
could hear the Force, distantly, through me. She used this opportunity to
insert herself as Surik’s teacher, I may be able to teach you, train
you to feel the Force again. And if you will not allow me to help
you, then other Jedi must train you. But there were no Jedi Surik could turn to, Then I am your only hope, as you are mine. I offer to train you to become strong again. Then our training shall begin.
Whenever I travel with you, The first point on the agenda was
clarifying who was pursuing Surik. These Sith, they seek the death of all Jedi. hiding from the face of the galaxy
until all Jedi are exterminated. After all the Jedi are gone, then the
galaxy is theirs, no matter whether the Sith As Surik can now feel the force, albeit
distantly, this immediately makes her easier The stronger their prey is in the
Force, the deadlier they become. I fear that you will no longer
be shielded from their eyes, The stronger you grow, the more will come. The Exile and Kreia talked on many
subjects, most of which would require but we shall take a brief moment to single
out some critical bits of wisdom Kreia shared. Primarily, since the Jedi Order was one of the
critical points that kept the Republic stable, A culture's teachings, and most
importantly, the nature of its people, They find themselves… or find themselves lacking. It is a stagnant beast that labors
for breath… and has for centuries. The Jedi Order was the heart
that sustained its sickness. The Republic was never what was important, ever. It was but a shell that surrounds the
Jedi, just as the teachings of the Jedi You see, the war, the true
war, has never been one waged They are but crude matter, obstacles
against which we test ourselves. The true war is waged in the
hearts of all living things, That is what shapes and binds this galaxy. They also, of course, discussed Revan. Revan was power. It was like
staring into the heart of the Force. Even then, you could see the Jedi
he would slay etched on his soul. Even then, you could see the Jedi
he would slay etched on his soul. You are… different. When I look at you, it
is like staring at the death of the Force. Of course, to anyone but Kreia, that
would sound like a terrible thing. As they traveled together, Kreia
imparted much wisdom to the Exile, In one of her lessons, Kreia told Surik There are techniques in the Force where
one can cloud the memory of others, The Exile asked Kreia if she had
been using this technique on her, No, but if I did, you would never know, But perhaps you will understand this. That perhaps it is important to me that
you see me and my actions uncloaked. It is important that your judgments,
whether they be good or bad, The Exile stated that she trusted Kreia
sufficiently to accept her answer. I did not ask you to trust me, only that
you listen to what I have to tell you, After all this information, learning
how she disagreed with the council, Is Kreia a Jedi or a Sith? Does it matter? Such titles allow you to break the galaxy
into light and dark, categorize it. Perhaps I am neither, and I hold both
as what they are, pieces of a whole. Know that I am your teacher, and that is enough. What do you wish to hear? That I once believed in the code of the Jedi? That for every good deed I did, I
brought equal harm upon the galaxy? That perhaps what the greatest
of the Sith Lords knew of evil, What would it matter now? There is only so much comfort in knowing
such things, and it is not who I am now. If it means so much to you, then
this I swear to you upon my life... that when your training is
complete, I will answer everything. There shall be no more shadows between us, After a bit of wisdom, they
continued on their path to Atris, I would see to that fool in the cockpit
- and remind him of our destination. He is a fool and an imbecile; his
potential lies downwards not up. Watch that one. His thoughts are slippery,
I do not trust him, nor should you. We can see this power to mask one's
presence used by Kreia shortly. Having escaped Darth Sion, the
Exile went to see Master Atris Although Kreia arrived at
Atris’s academy with the Exile, As she was an Exile still, Surik’s
companions were placed in holding cells, Why is it that everywhere
we go I end up in a cell? It is a training ground. For Jedi. What? This ice hole? Yes, it bears the semblance of an academy... You've got to be joking. It is a place hidden from the galaxy,
like the academy on Dantooine. Atris? It's none of your concern. Well, the sooner we're outta here, the better. No one told me we were going
to be dumped in a nest of Jedi. And what is it about this place
that causes you such fear? What do you mean? We're in
the middle of a bunch of Jedi. No, I do not... not in the way you seem to. What... what are you doing? Get out of my head! Stop struggling... let me follow the
current, deep... deeper... to its source. Stop... st... ernhhhh! Ah, with the fear... is mingled
guilt... it squirms in you like a worm. And the why... You surprise me - I could not feel it before... Do not worry, "Atton." If she
is Jedi, she will forgive. You can't tell her. Please - I'm
asking you. I don't want her to... ...think less of you? I
hardly think that's possible. We all wage war with the
past. And it leaves its scars. What? What price? There are those who wage war,
and those who follow them. You know how important this
woman we travel with is. You will serve her... until I release you. And if I refuse? You will not. If you do, then
my silence will be broken. You fear the Jedi and rightly so. But whatever fear you hold of the
Jedi, know that if you disobey me, Wipe the fear from your mind. You will learn to embrace it again. I don't know how you became such
a manipulative witch, but why No game of dejarik can be won without pawns... You are a slippery one, your thoughts
difficult for even one such as I to read. I suspect the self-loathing that squirms
within you gives you a curious strength. Perhaps even you, at the right moment,
may be able to turn aside disaster. Fine. I'll be your pawn. But I still
think you've got the wrong man. Perhaps. But someone has to fly the ship.
And the Force is a hard thing to predict. Our path brought us here for a
reason... and now I know why. More Jedi speak. Care to explain? No. I have wasted enough time with you. A critical moment approaches. I did not expect to see you again
after the day of your sentencing. There was much about that day that was difficult
to forget - your words, your defiance - I have kept it so I would never forget, I have kept it, so I would never forget
your arrogance or your insult to the Order. Life is filled with choices. And
when you are forced to make one, It is much like Jedi who
will not give up their code. It is to surrender yourself, to make
yourself a slave to a teaching or belief, There was no guarantee that
marching to war would have But in the end, the Mandalorians were defeated. A physical victory perhaps,
but the real victory lay in th- If Revan's Jedi hadn't fought back,
the Mandalorians would have won. You do not kno- Would *then* the Jedi have fought back? How dare you? The Mandalorian Wars should have been your grave Surik noted that such a comment sounded as
if Atris had a personal problem with her. You see shadows where there are
none, and hate where there is none. I tire of... fighting with you. You
lust for war, and you always will. So answer me. If you can not seem
to admit the Council was correct, The Exile came here to inform
her of the Sith attack, You? If they thought you a Jedi, the
teachings of the Sith blind them, indeed. I am the last Jedi, not you. You betrayed our teachings, our beliefs...
the very core of the Jedi Order. If these Sith attacked you, they
will soon realize their mistake. And if you escaped... they most likely let
you go, to see if you would lead them here. You must leave here, before
you place us in jeopardy. We shall remove her, mistress. Come with us. Are you all right, mistress? The exile reminded me of
something... I had forgotten. Forgive me, mistress... but
I must ask. The exile... Was she important to you, once? We all have our heroes. And when
we watch them fall, we die inside. She made a choice once... and I did not. The day we judged her, I stood
in the chamber, and she was... But not now. She will never
make me doubt myself again. But now... now I am tired. I must meditate. Of course, mistress. I will tell the
others you are not to be disturbed. And... please, do not exhaust yourself. Did you find what you came for? I suspected there was something from
your past here - something unresolved... This woman who resides here -
she did something to you once... The Exile shared with Kreia that Atris
was on the council which exiled her. And in her talks with Atris, Surik noticed
something strange about her Jedi servants. There is a Jedi here, perhaps.
In that, you are correct. Yet there are no students, and
this woman... this Atris... Perhaps students will come to her in time. So these handmaidens cannot feel the Force. No... her servants are not Jedi. This discipline blinds them to the Force as well, Does Kreia know this because she
probed their minds through the Force? Invade the mind of another? Indeed... As it was their time to depart, Surik
was worried to see one of her companions, He is only sleeping - it seems
the journey here has fatigued him. In the meantime, as they traveled,
Kreia didn't lie when she said But she did use it on virtually everyone else. Some companions she intimidated through
her abilities, as she did Atton, even once he opened up to the Exile
and truly had nothing left to hide. Why are you here? Because I told her, told her everything. Ah. And now you are free? Yeah - so no more threats,
no more of your "requests." Did you ever think I truly held you?
You are more of a fool than I thought. What truly held you was you
- and let me show you why. I once held the galaxy by the throat... And your emotion at that point is what you fear. I wielded power like you cannot imagine. Everything I saw was awash with possibilities, I saw all of that, all that the Force is... And I know what lies buried within you. I can unlock that part of you anytime I wish. It is a simple thing, the human mind,
once it feels something strongly, Shall I show you? That part of
you that hungered to kill Jedi, Or perhaps you will continue
to listen to my counsel Now leave me, murderer. I have nothing
further to say to one such as you. Others didn't even know she was there. As they traveled, they found
many allies and companions. One of Surik’s companions was a scholar, Most importantly, he knew who Kreia was. Is there... But he had a weakness. Must be hearing things, but for a moment... Jedi. Jedi. Jedi. Betrayer. All thoughts of me will slide from your
vision, from your mind, like water. You know who I am, but you will be
unable to voice it, to remember it. What does a Jedi see? Only what I allow them to see. The more worlds we travel to,
the more questions I have. It's not just the hardships of
the people, but something more. The attacks on Katarr, Telos
itself, the decay on Dantooine The connections have been damaged, sickened. Sometimes I feel like I almost
understand, and then it just slips away. So close. I do think there is some
greater plan at work here. At last you understand, tiny Jedi. You - who are you? What are you doing on this sh- Enough. What did you see in the web
of worlds that have died? What did you see when you
saw it through the Force? I see the death of the galaxy. Of life. At first... I thought it was just
conquest, but it's more terrible than that. It's an echo, spreading
outwards, killing everything. You are a wasted pawn of the Republic, young one. You could have been so much more,
even with your wide-eyed innocence, Now you understand the
magnitude of what is being done. I know you - not even the markings
of the dark side can hide it. I? Do you think I seek the
death of all living things? I do not want to win our
war like this, little Jedi. When I win, I wish it to be because
I was right, my teachings true. How long have you been here, among us? You know the truth. I have always been here, You know its source and what must be done. I will not let you hurt her. Little Jedi, you cannot stop me. Your feelings for her are your weakness. Yet I will gift you with this - you will
remember what you have you discovered... Know that you have seen
what formerly only I knew - As they were now pursued by Sith Assassins, Combined, united against the Jedi,
they command legions of Sith. But above these legions, there
are three who must be stopped. One bathes in pain, feeds on it for sustenance. The other has ceased being
a living being, so consumed And the last is a creature of betrayals, Yes... of pain, he has learned much. Of knowledge, of teaching, he knows nothing. Like the others, he was spawned by
the horrors of the Mandalorian Wars. He exists solely to spread his
pain to all Jedi, everywhere. The less said of that one, the
better—even a stray thought may draw him. And it is possible that he cannot be defeated. He is one who has learned the greatest
of Sith teachings, and it enslaved him. Even now, she is difficult to see. She must remain hidden for
now until the time is right In this, you must trust me.
If she is exposed too soon, Kreia had many plans, and her journey with
the Exile helped set them into motion. The first plan was the Jedi Council. Surik didn’t know why she had
been deafened to the Force Kreia implied the Jedi Council is
responsible, that they may have She suggested Surik seek out
the remnants of the Jedi Order. Whether Kreia truly believed the
Jedi Council actually cut Surik off But we know that another factor
was involved, though Surik did not. So she wanted to find and
gather the Jedi Council members But none would answer until the
entire council was in one place. As they traveled and found the
scattered members of the Jedi Order Kreia ensured none of them would
recognize her by clouding their memories making her presence so small and unnoticeable. In their discussions, Kreia
shared that she was a Jedi Master, The Exile asked Kreia why the
Council never mentioned her Ignorance, and perhaps they
do not remember or care. It is of no consequence to me or to them. But given her impact on the
Jedi Council and the Order, As the plan to gather the Order was set in motion, She wanted to destroy all who had betrayed
her, not only the Jedi but the Sith as well. She understood her targets well,
in particular Darth Nihilus, In order to eliminate Nihilus, she would
have to wait for several critical moments We must be patient and wait
as these moments emerge. Shortly after Kreia’s Exile from
the Sith, her former apprentice Darth Nihilus killed and devoured
the Force energy of an entire planet Its people were so in tune with
the Force, they did not need eyes Nihilus left only one of its inhabitants
alive and took her on as a servant, As the Exile began regaining her
connection to the Force, slowly, the wound in the Force surrounding
Surik became more prominent, I have felt it, too, my lord...
a disturbance in the Force. ANALYZING INPUT INPUT FOUND ANCIENT SITH LANGUAGE REFERENCE TRANSLATION UNAVAILABLE It was difficult to make out, my lord.
At first it was such a quiet thing, But now I wonder if it has always been
there, I merely could not hear it before. The sound built so slowly, yet when you
listen for it, you can make out the strains, Do you feel it is a threat? Do you feel it is a th
Do you feel it is a th Do you feel it is a th Do you feel it is a th You... ...are... ...you are the darkness... in which all life dies, milord. All life... my life is yours. let me die. -and
showed Visas mercy. Grateful, Visas sided with the
Exile to avenge her homeworld, telling much of who and what Nihilus
was and how he saw the world. I... felt you, heard you, through the Force. It was like a sound, at the edge of hearing. I serve my Master. My Master was aware of a disturbance in the Force, There is little my Master does not know, So how does one find him? You cannot. His vessel roams
the borders of known space, You will meet my Master, it is
inevitable. I have... seen it. My people spend their lives seeing the
galaxy, the energy streaming off stars, Visas comes from the planet Katarr,
which was destroyed by Darth Nihilus. The planet was not destroyed, it
remains... it orbits, dead in space, It echoes, but there is no one left to hear it. I was there when the planet died. To see everything around you extinguished... it... It was as if the Force had...
been bled from the world. I imagine there are worse deaths, worse pain. I was the only living thing
remaining on the planet of Katarr... All that I had been connected to had been severed. I still wonder what would have happened
if I had died with the others... The pain she felt, the death of
the entire planet, was so strong, ...if perhaps there would have been some
way to hide my presence from the galaxy. But it could not be done. When the life was bled from the
planet, and yet somehow, I remained, He walked upon the surface
of my dead world, and there, And he made me see. To this galaxy, my world, absent the
currents and spectrums of the Force, He showed the flickering of life on other planets, To see such creatures, disconnected from
themselves, their world, their place in it, He showed me to make me believe in his cause. He fed upon its ugliness, its
screaming, and in its place, he left And where there was chaos, he
brought stillness... and order. His power is great, and it comes from hunger. He is a wound in the Force,
more presence than flesh, And those who feel the Force
strongly are beacons to his hunger. My people, my planet, would
have been attacked in time, The last Council of the Jedi, came
to our world to meet in secret. They hoped that perhaps among our people
they could achieve the clarity to *see* They succeeded... but only in
bringing him from the Outer Regions. And Katarr, with my kind, with the Jedi upon
its surface, could no longer be ignored. Only me. He cannot deny his hunger for long, And now that the Jedi are vanishing,
I do not know what will happen. Kreia, intent on defeating Darth Nihilus Perhaps he is bound to her...
as I am bound to you. If so, You must be prepared to sacrifice the blinded one. One cannot have power of that
magnitude that her master possesses I had hoped that you would
not have to confront him... He... if he can truly be
called a man any longer... I do not think he knows what you are. He spared the Miraluka, Keep his slave close to you. I suspect
there was a reason he spared her... when the rest of her people and the Jedi did not. The Exile questioned Kreia
about Darth Nihilus's power, and how he may have learned to destroy life It is a technique that is almost
as old as the Sith themselves... it is a means of severing
connections between life, the Force, It cannot be taught... it can
only be gained through instinct, A potent power indeed. Do you think so? There is no strength in the hunger he possesses... And it devours him as he devours others - He is already dead, Nothing is impossible with the Force. And like energy, it may be harnessed,
channeled, and consumed at times. Do not think of his power as one would a weapon, It is terrible, but it is still a subtle thing. No one again must experience
and learn what her master did. As much as one may use the Force to
bolster the wills and strengths of others, Instead of sending one's will
through connections in the Force, It is an empty road to the
dark side, and by traveling it, He is a breach in the Force, capable of
consuming the lives of those around him. While Kreia knew Visas dying would weaken Nihilus, It is not something he can direct
or focus, much like hunger itself. Force Sensitives and worlds
rich in the Force draw him. That is why where the Jedi gather, Jedi will die. but Katarr called out as a beacon
to him, and he could not resist it. And he cares nothing for
the Sith or its teachings... And when the Jedi are dead, he will
feed on the galaxy, the Republic, There is no future in the empty galaxy he sees. And that is why he must be
stopped, the breach must be sealed, and so, as she traveled with the
Exile, she spread misinformation, She identified one of Nihilus’
servants who served him in hopes of In order to reach Onderon, however, The leader of the Mandalorian clan agreed
to help them, but before they departed, How are the port stabilizers. They check out, Mandalore. All systems are green. Good. I want the shuttle bound
for Onderon within the hour. What do you want? My only concerns are for the one
you escort to Onderon, Mandalorian. Don't pretend to understand us -
we Mandalorians are a breed apart. If by 'apart' you mean scattered, broken,
and lost, then yes - you are correct. Not for long. Soon the
Mandalorians will be strong again, Ah, yes. The great crusade - after the
first one was ended by Revan and the Jedi. Such a defeat was merciful, an echo of
the end, when your ships were in flames, I was at Malachor V. And I remember
how many Jedi died to stop us there. And no matter how many dead orbit that
planet, the Mandalorians still live. This galaxy will be ours again, I
promise you. That is the future. Indeed? The future is always in
motion, it is a difficult thing to see. Perhaps there will be no new age,
Mandalore, no great Mandalorian crusade. Perhaps your people fought
their last battle at Malachor V, a quiet death that will last centuries. And perhaps all that remains
will be what I see before me: hunted by the thought of being
the last of the Mandalorians. You've got some guts, talking to me like that. You think your age or your Jedi whelp
are going to keep you safe from me? No, Mandalore, you are
wrong. I hope that it is you You are loyal, and you have served many Masters... Do you wonder where he wanders now, Mandalore? How do you know that? I know many things, and I can answer the
question that burns within your shell, Show the same loyalty you have
shown in the past, Mandalore. If there is a Mandalorian crusade,
let it be for something that will so when there are no more Mandalorians,
at least their honor will remain. The one I travel with has walked your same path even if it seems there is nothing else left. Forget the Jedi. Keep your eyes on her. Once they reached Onderon, Kreia
waited for the ideal opportunity He was on the political side which sought
to overthrow the current reigning queen. Ah, the wound is not a mortal one. Though it has been some time since
I exercised my healing powers, A gift from your master, no doubt. Awaken, Colonel Tobin. Your
part in this is not over. Colonel Tobin, you must make haste
off planet. The jedi have struck. They had a secret academy buried on Telos,
and they are showing themselves at last. What? But the jedi are gone.
They have all but vanished. So we all thought, but they
have hidden themselves on Telos. Out of my way, old woman.
This war can still be won, Indeed. This war… But only one Jedi walked on
the surface of Telos, hiding. It was Atris. Kreia knew that once Nihilus
thought there was an entire planet and without Force Sensitives to
feed his hunger and fuel his power, We shall return to the development
of this timeline shortly. For now, we turn to the development
of Kreia’s first plan: The Jedi Order. As Surik found all that
remained of the Jedi Order, she instructed them to meet on Dantooine,
at the ruins of the Jedi Academy It.... It has been some time... This Jedi Enclave on Dantooine had
been destroyed by one Darth Malak, Darth Malak purged it of Jedi and
it has been in ruins ever since, It has, however, been several decades since
Kreia last set foot inside these halls. Forgive me, but I need to rest. Go on. The Council awaits. I will remain here. Yes. Afraid for you. I will be fine here. I am... tired. The journey has been a long one,
and I need to center myself. Know that much may happen here,
but above all, do not forget this. We cradle each other's lives, and what
threatens one of us, threatens us both. And if you find you cannot trust
me, trust in your training. Never doubt what you have done. All your
decisions have brought you to this point. And now, perhaps, they shall
see what you have become. It is not as it was... But perhaps that is for the best. We were wondering when you would arrive. This moment has taken some time to reach
us and I imagine you have many questions. Surik first told of the Sith
and urged the council to prepare No. We will do as we have done - we will wait. The true threat has yet to show itself. We have seen their soldiers,
the remnants of their fleet, It is more bait to attempt to draw us out. Whatever this thing is, it must be
fought by those strong in the Force - It knows this, and that is why it is killing us. If we die, then it will win, no matter what
fleet or weapons are brought against it. No discussion on that,
evidently. So Surik asked more. She asked why the Order had cast her out, We cast you out of the Order
because you followed Revan to war. No, there was another… Have you noticed that when you act others follow? Kreia had noted the same
thing to the Exile before. Have you noticed what has been happening? Have you felt it within them? They echo you, either fighting or surrendering
to their feelings, their loyalty, their duty. Your mere presence serves as an example to them, The fool dances in your shadow for your favour. The disciple, he worships you quietly. The alien obeys you, even within
the machines there are echoes. Watch them carefully. See their patterns. And recognize the strength in it. Influence can be a weapon, one that you
may need before your journey is done. That was Revan's way, I
believe. It was a strength. And what about Kreia? How
was she influenced by Surik? I know many things. And I know what I am not. I am no leader. I speak with a voice that will never move others. I... I am but a mirror, Those that travel with you, they follow
you, without question. Without hesitation. Surely you are familiar with Force bonds. Yet you do it so easily and we do not know why. When you suffer, their spirit echoes it. So is this, the Exile asked, why
they cut her off from the Force. Because of that last battle
of the Mandalorian wars. The screams of countless
thousands, Jedi and Mandalorians, Their lives still scream across the surface
of that dead planet, and within you. To hear the Force over such
pain, it is not possible. It was too much for any jedi to endure, All those you had fought with and struggled with. You cut yourself off because you
had to if you were to survive. You were deafened. You were broken. You were blinded. you saw. When you returned to us we saw what had happened. In you we saw a wound in the Force. You are a cypher, forming bonds,
leeching the life of others, It is the teaching of these new Sith, to
feed on others, on other Force sensitives. You are a breach that must be closed. Within you we see something worse
than merely the teachings of the Sith. and the death of the Jedi, and that
is why you are a threat to us all. And so you wait, as a shadow. Yes, we are alike that way, blinded one. I would have thought you would
walk with her amongst the Jedi. DO NOT speak to me of the ways of the Sith. You are a threat to living creatures,
and all who feel the Force. You will lead the Sith here,
and that we cannot allow. Our judgment before remains: Exile. It is a punishment reserved for
only a few and only when necessary, Forgive us, but it is necessary. Do not be afraid, you shall feel
no pain but this must be done. ENOUGH! STEP AWAY! The arrogance! You will not harm her. You will not harm her, I have endured your corruption
of my other students. I thought you had died in the Mandalorian wars. Die? Became stronger. Is this your new master, Exile? If so, you follow Revan’s path. Her teachings will cause you
to fall as surely as he did. She is… difficult to see. She
is like a shadow of the Exile. How could you ever hope to
know the treat you face, faced war and death on such a scale? If you had travelled far enough, rather
than waiting for the echo to reach you, There is a place in the galaxy where
the dark side of the Force runs strong. It is something of the Sith,
but it was fueled by war. It corrupts all that walks on its surface. It corrupts all life, and it feeds on death. Revan knew the power of such places,
and the power in making them. They can be used to break the will of
others, of Jedi, promising them power, Did you never wonder how Revan
corrupted so many of the Jedi, The Mandalorian wars were a series
of massacres that masked another war, Culminating in a final atrocity
that no jedi could walk away from, And that is what I sought to understand. But I see what happened now. It is because you were… As you would pass judgment on her, DO YOU WISH TO FEEL THE TEACHINGS
BORN OF THE MANDALORIAN WARS? OF ALL TRAGEDIES THAT SCREAM ACROSS THE GALAXY? LET ME SHOW YOU. YOU! WHO HAVE FOREVER SEEN THE
GALAXY THROUGH THE FORCE, See it through the eyes of the Exile. And so Kreia killed what was left of the council. No, Kreia didn't land the killing blow. She merely showed them what
the Exile saw, what Kreia saw, And instead of what the Exile did,
when faced with the Echo of death, the Jedi Council could not part with the Force. They would rather die than live without
it, so dependent had they grown on it. So close to understanding the Force, Did I wish to see them dead? No. Defeated, perhaps. I merely wished them to see that
they and their teachings were wrong. That one could not truly understand the Force All I have ever trained
have been failures to them. Students who went to fight the
Mandalorians, who fell to the dark side, Defeating the Council indeed was a victory,
but they died still believing they were right. Kreia once noted that it is a far greater victory To best one in battle is one thing. Regardless, it had to be done. To have such powerful Jedi still
live, still be felt in the Force, Now it begins. In hatred there is unity. Against a common foe even
enemies may stand side by side. The Jedi is all that united
my master and the others. Now they will turn on each other,
and the betrayals will begin. They will feed on each other
until only one remains. That which waits in the
darkness will now show itself, It is done. She is no more. Out of my way. I am Colonel Tobin Out of my way. I am Colonel Tobin Out of my way. I am Colonel Tobin Lord, I bring news... A place where you may feed. Telos, Master. There is… an academy of Jedi on Telos, enough to sustain you, and enough for you... enough for you... to free Onderon. Soon your ship will come my master. I will bring her before you, Soon your ship shall come
from that which made you. Who is there? Who I am is not the question. I am Atris, Jedi Master... the last historian
of the Jedi... the last of the Jedi. Those are titles, words you cling
to as the darkness falls around you. It is not the first time we have
met, Atris. I was here before. With the Exile? Yes, I was here both times when
the Exile was brought before you. Who are you? I was the one who asked her to be exiled. I did as you asked, so long ago. You, you seem familiar to me. Atris, I have always been here. You are that which has attacked
the Jedi... you are Sith. "Sith" is a title, yes, but like
you, the title is not who I am. Know that there was once a Darth Traya. But there must always be a Darth Traya,
one that holds the knowledge of betrayal. You have bathed in the knowledge of the Sith. You have gathered Sith holocrons,
Sith teachings from across the galaxy. It is why you have chosen servants
who cannot feel the Force. I have sought to preserve the Jedi Order, and I have gathered all that I
know of the Sith to this place, Such an act marked Telos for destruction
(before, during the Jedi Civil war). It is why the Sith came here
(and bombed the planet), It was never battle that called to you,
never battle that caused you to fall. Malachor V has touched many things,
and it casts its echoes still. Why did she betray me? And unlike you and I, there is still
a chance that one may be saved. The one that you cast out. Where is the Exile? I had thought... It is such a quiet thing, to fall. Your mistress awaits, she
has much to share with you. She said you would come here, to this place. If you think you can defeat
me here, you are wrong. All this collected knowledge, all these
teachings of combat and the Force, Surrender. You need not die. By this point, she has fallen to the dark side. Atris? She has not existed for some time I think. There was always something else within me. The old woman you travel with, finally
made me listen to myself. To the galaxy. She said that you were the last
obstacle to my enlightenment. If I wished to truly face the Sith, to see
their heart, then that meant facing you, The Sith are here at last. It has all been part of my plans for you. And when I defeat you and the
forces you have brought to Telos, These Sith are cowards, striking
from the shadows to kill Jedi. I needed a target to draw them out,
but I could not risk my own life, so I arranged for you to return to the
Republic, leaked information of your past, But you came to Telos against my predictions. What is this place? All the knowledge of the Sith,
gathered from across the galaxy. Brought here by my servants, so
that I might uncover their secrets, But now they have been drawn from
the shadows of the Outer Rim, And then what? When the Sith are destroyed, then I
shall rebuild the Jedi Order again. They shall be strong, willing to
take battle to any who oppose them They shall not train those
who are easily corrupted. You will make the Jedi into the Sith! The Sith are the Jedi, the Jedi are the Sith. What matters is that they be preserved. All the lore, all the teachings,
brought to a new generation. I am the last of the Jedi, and I will show
them this truth, bring it to the galaxy. Weakness? You speak much of weakness yet
you fled from the destruction of Katarr. I did not flee. So you left the Jedi to die on Katarr. Yes. I sensed what would happen on Katarr. It was I who leaked knowledge of its presence I will not deceive you, I
knew what would happen there But I did not know the extent of their power, You are responsible for the
murder of an entire planet. As are we both. You, who brought the
screams of Malachor to the galaxy, You lead by example, you always have. You knew what was necessary at Malachor V, It is a war of extermination,
of total annihilation. If you knew this would happen, why
did you not warn the Jedi on Katarr? Because they sought to hide,
to reflect, to hesitate They knew the risks in going to Katarr,
and they deserved what happened to them. Punishment?! They are the same questions,
the same thoughts you have had. They’re not the Jedi I know,
the ones I once worshipped. What manner of Jedi hide from a threat... The exile offered Atris the
option to surrender, but… Surrender? To you? Never! Let us end this! Kill me. End this. less opponent, and she
would not strike Atris down. If you will not kill me, then what will you do? I did not expect mercy from you, here at the end. What happened to you, Atris? This knowledge of the Sith
and the Jedi is what I am. Once I was a historian,
the chronicler of the Jedi. And when both wars passed me by, In some part of me, I knew I
had made choices, compromises, To do what you had done, at
times, did not seem so wrong. The Jedi were all that seemed left to me, Do you know where Kreia has gone? Where she walks is hidden from my
eyes, but not from those of her kind. It is possible I may draw once last
piece of knowledge from these holocrons. She is waiting for you to travel to
Malachor V. To finish what you started. I had thought she was awaiting me at
that place, but I see now that she lied. You are an echo in the Force, a hollow
space where it has been wounded. It takes a great act of destruction
to create such emptiness. It creates places where the Force is difficult
to hear and difficult to find one’s way. Now she seeks to create another
echo, a wound in the Force, Greater than the one you caused. You were strong enough to withstand it once, But she needs you there. If you choose not to follow, she will
murder herself at the heart of Malachor, You are important to her somehow. A choice others have made in the
past. A choice I wished to make. It is because I care for you, and I
suspect that you alone hold that place And that is why you are the only one
who can stop the destruction to come. It is madness. It is impossible. There are places in the galaxy dead
to the Force, where nothing lives. And these places can be created
even from the simplest of events, One person, at the right place, at teh right time, Then Malachor V is where Surik must go. And what will you do with me now? Surik told her what she must do. I tied my life, my decisions, to the Jedi. Perhaps only in separating myself from
the Jedi can I become myself again, Perhaps exile is what I deserve. Leave now, while you can.
Save Telos, save the galaxy. :Hissing of the Sith holocrons: No. I could not bring myself to tell
her. It would have changed nothing. :Hissing of the Sith holocrons: And because I was afraid. You know
what lies at the heart of Malachor V. And all that has happened there will happen again. Because it is Malachor V,
and she was lost there once. I do not understand why the Sith
permit such teachings to exist. :Hissing of the Sith holocrons: A beacon? For who? Just as Kreia had planned,
Darth Nihilus came to Telos, in hopes of satisfying his hunger. Alongside them came Mandalorians. We will join you in the assault. Let we Mandalorians lead the
charge into battle. And to victory. You will not face this alone. I would have it no other way. No matter the assault on this
already-demolished vessel where Nihilus was, The Exile, Visas, and the
Mandalorians boarded the ship, Mandalore, we have breached the hull of
the Sith vessel and are securing the area. The vessel has suffered
extensive structural damage, And our cargo? It's being brought aboard. Soon, teams will be dispatched
to the target sites. You were right about the vessel,
Mandalore. It is of Malachor. Then let’s finish this, and
remind the galaxy of Malachor V. What was that about? Nothing you need to worry about, Sith. You are coming with me. Don’t get all sentimental. Been waiting for this for ten years. It’s
just time to do things the old-fashioned way. I know what it meant for you to accompany
me here, Canderous of Clan Ordo. If you betray me, or my men, I will kill you. I was going to say the same, Canderous. On their way to place explosives at
critical locations within the ship, including Colonel Tobin, whom Kreia
had used to bring Nihilus to Telos. I have served the wrong master. Everything exists to feed his will. It is the way of all life that serves
him. In his presence, all life dies. This ship is from Malachor. This Sith lord of yours bolsters his
fleet with ships from that world? I think he is of that place. If so,
then his power may be great indeed. The master suffers. If he cannot feed,
then the hunger begins to consume him. I told him of the academy here, of the Jedi
here. I… could not have kept it from him, He means that Jedi witch you travel with. Kreia. Yes, the old woman on Onderon. She
spoke of the Jedi academy here on Telos. He will destroy all of Telos.
He will turn it to fire again. If there are no Jedi here, then
my lord cannot feed his hunger. Even if the people below are not Force
sensitive, the small amount he can feed on and the life on the planet,
will sustain him a while longer. Then, he will suffer. Without something to
sustain him, I do not know what will happen. He will create nothing. He will end this
place. Your old woman has killed this planet, You could not stop him, even if you wanted to. Waiting? For you? No… He does not wait for you. I do not believe he knows his ship has been
boarded. And if he did, he would not care. The extent of his power cannot be put into words. you are dust motes in a storm. A grain
upon the beach, and as insignificant Fight him if you will. But if he turns
his power upon you, you will be destroyed. This ship is barely holding itself together. He holds it together, and he keeps us all alive. Hmmph. More Jedi tricks. No… not Jedi. Not Jedi at all. If he’s so powerful, why
hasn’t he stopped us then? It is because he sees planets. Stars. Not people. Only that is massive enough
to demand his attention. There is nothing to be done, except wait.
If you go to him, he will destroy you, But, of course, the Exile learned a bit about
manipulation from Kreia, so she pointed out Onderon? But… there is no longer any need… The galaxy is in danger.
What would you have me do? Go report to the target site, Colonel. And if you try anything
stupid, they’ll shoot you dead. One step closer to Nihilus. This door leads to my... cell. I had forgotten. If there is time, I would like to center myself. There is a meditation chamber
within my cell that I would visit, Past the surface, there is the Force. Where once there was a world
that was strong in the Force, It has taken time for me to return here, But I have been stronger for the journey. What happens now shall not be
done out of hate, or revenge, And I ask you finally to forgive me. This body no longer. I learned more of myself, and
the conviction that that brings. And I wish to thank you for
sparing me when we first met. This door leads to the
bridge and my former master. Despite the Exile's warning, that
his ship was filled with explosives He doesn't understand... He thinks he can survive... it. Surik told him he had been tricked,
that there were no Jedi here, Another piece of Kreia's plan
was that Nihilus be presented for attempting to drain on Surik failed, But still, he was a very powerful
opponent, even in his crippled state. He... is... too powerful... Visas dying would weaken him. But instead, Surik urged her to draw
on that connection through the Force. I... I will try... He...
CANNOT HOLD HIM FOR LONG! My path is at an end. That your strength is as meaningless
as the strength of my hand. Why... have you returned? Because now I understand why
the Exile did what she did. There is much to be done. And all the Jedi who followed Revan, We go now, my master, to that
dark place which made you. Your ship, my prison, that you dragged
from the gravity well at Malachor V. It is the heartbeat of the past... ...and she must be stopped. There. Now. Or she will bring the screams
of Malachor V to the galaxy, This place is your last test. It is the graveyard of the
past where you lost everything. It is the dark place in your mind
that still echoes of failure. Now we shall see if you can
overcome the weight of Malachor, Master, she is here. What is thy bidding, my master. You are to do nothing. When she arrives, bring her before me. She may not survive Malachor. So touching. Can it be you still
have feelings within that shell? Master, what will you do to her? You know what I shall do. You,
who wear my teachings so well. I will break her. She is a blank slate upon which my
teachings may be written, as you well know. Leave me. Await the arrival of the Exile. When she comes, bring her before me. From the moment Darth Sion had
seen Kreia favour Surik over him, but in time, seeing her for the
powerful individual she was, These were feelings he could not tolerate. By this point, Sion found her to be beautiful,
but he saw these feelings as a weakness, He awaited her at the entrance to the Trayus Core, He would strike her down, to regain his strength, as if was the only apprentice under her
to have come so far, including Revan. He convinced himself that his betrayal of
Traya was a test, a test he had passed. As the Ebon Hawk crashed into
Malachor’s surface, Surik set out, Surik's allies were separated from her, as
the Ebon Hawk fell into Malachor's depths, but ultimately they found themselves in a
situation where they could confront Traya I say we fire a rocket at her right now, It wouldn't work. If there were other distractions, maybe. If she wasn't telepathic, maybe. If you want to kill her like that, you need
something else to occupy her attention. Otherwise you might just wound her,
and then we'd all be in trouble. This battle will not be decided by weapons. You are wrong. Manipulation is
Kreia's strength, not battle. We have a chance, we just have to
figure out how to make use of it. We've come a long way, Kreia...
don't bother getting up. Ah, the huntress. To come alone...
you are braver than I thought. She is not alone. We stand with her. And with her, stand all the Jedi. And now I come in, saying
something suitably heroic. Children with lightsabers...
but not Jedi, I think. Come close, let me look upon you and see
what the exile's teaching has forged. An assassin. Wasted pawn of the Republic. A blinded slave. Which of you wishes to try yourselves
against me? As you can see, I am unarmed. You, perhaps. You are a wasted
pawn of the Republic, young one. You could have been so much more,
even with your wide-eyed innocence, Think. Think before you
throw away your life for her. A dance, unfinished. A love, requited. And you, blind one, you have
hungered to strike me down Can you feel the Force running through me,
even past the veil, past your bloodied eyes? The Force runs strong within you, Traya, You have forever been the blind one. You were given a gift few are ever given, You think your existence under your Lord
was torture, Miraluka? I will make you see. An assassin. And I get the fool. Funny. That's just what I was thinking. Surik's allies weren't killed. They
were imprisoned at the Trayus Academy, Use the sequence I am
unlocking in your memory banks If my calculations are correct,
four vessels should be enough and undo the damage that was done at Malachor V, Once the sequence has begun, it cannot be stopped. So make sure the general is off the
planet before triggering the sequence. Try to avoid contact with any potential threats. Follow your programming. By the time Surik reached the Trayus Academy, This was the final bargaining chip, the destruction of Malachor V
would be complete in the end. The sequence has been completed. When active, it will destroy Malachor
again. I have one last command for you. You must remain behind, and ensure
that the sequence fires properly If not, then all we have fought
for has been for nothing. You have done all I asked, all you were built for. And for that, I thank you. When the exile enters Trayus Academy,
she will be faced with a choice. One path, assuming she survived,
will allow her to save her friends,
