KITCHEN GADGET TESTING #4

[Music] hello everyone its Barry here welcome to my virgin kitchen hope you well today we are testing some more food gadgets if you've missed the previous food gadget testing videos this video is part of a playlist so if you click up here or down below you're barely grab your popcorn and watch them all if you like but without further ado this is our first food gadget we've got today this is what I've been sent from sue who's actually from England but I believe it's an American gadget it was just in a jiffy bag so I don't really know much about it but I look it online I think it's called a Dipper just like this and it looks like that thing on Back to the Future derp derp derp when they put on the back of the car they can time travel so this really is a hook for dunking biscuits and cookies I'm not really a dunker I just tend to like eat the biscuits hence my figure but people quite like that they like to have that soothing nature and I grab my milk in my how to pick up chicks mug we're gonna just pour a good amount and I guess just stick the Oreo on there we go that's real tall itself is quite hard and firm you kind of think it might be like flexible but no we'll go with it all you do is you grab like the creme Avenue bit of the Oreo and just press it in like so and it does hold it really really well like you can take it for a little walk like I'm just going for a walk with my dog and my Oreo just carry it round but we're gonna dunk it okay so we're gonna stick it in this mug of milk like so I'm not sure if there's any sort of dunking etiquette is there oh wow this bubbles coming up do we wait for the bubbles to go so that it dies off I'm not not quite sure but any dunk some biscuits and it just dissolves and perishes I think Oreos are a bit more hardcore like that so give it like a few more seconds oh that was a stopping is it dying lift it out see what I think ah yes it's still intact have a taste Oh what hmm I've never dumped an Oreo and it nearly hooked my mouth for a little bit and that was really good it made it build Austin soft and tender I've always still have our areas on their own but if you're a dunker maybe this is for you that's pretty cool believe it or not one of the most popular recipes online last year was hold strawberries filled with melted chocolate and I had several requests for that but I didn't do it because it was basically hollow strawberry fill it with melted chocolate and that's it so I didn't really think it was video worthy but this thing the stem gem strawberry huller potentially makes it even easier so it's quite self-explanatory looks a bit like a space rocket you just use it to whole strawberries really yeah there we go so we've open it up you press down this green button opens the strawberry huller thing squeeze it in your strawberry twist it and let it out and it should have a nice hollow strawberry I see if it works so here is a strawberry I've cut the world's worst shape strawberries this is probably the nicest out of the batch and then I just grab the hair a little bit the hair the strawberry you know you know I'm saying the green leaves so we open up let's get out the way so you can see Beth open it up push it in to the strawberry and get quite deep with it let it go let it go like frozen style twist it what I don't pop from the leaf of my finger there we go nice whole strawberry so for that video recipe fill it with melted chocolate shove it in the fridge and then he it that's a pretty cool where's that going yeah that's a pretty cool device only thing about that strawberry huller is it doesn't really make the strawberries taste any nicer I think there there were stories I've ever bought so without further ado this is quite an exciting batch of gadgets for you this is the first of two egg gadgets in this video this seems to be those of egg gathers around this one is the easy cracker egg cracker separator it's one as like as seen on TV gadgets and it basically helps to separate eggs apparently this is literary oh is it oh these instructions in the box I'm not gonna read them I'm just gonna go for it oh it's not just a poster so you can stick it on your bedroom I'm like a pop star I don't know all right no there are steps on it so we'll follow them roughly so there you can see it's a little bit like scissors really you could go or something like that it's nice little grip here these things are going to hold the egg there's a little bit here it's just plastic you can't really see how that's gonna be very sharp to split the egg but it does and then it's just gonna fall away into a bowl now there's also another attachment which we can stick on the back of it and it will hold the egg yolk which is actually pretty cool so let's try both of those it's go get it oh that is that's fit it in there quite nicely actually check that out alright so we just basically squeeze oh yes it took two goes but look that's pretty cool she'll was all out like so full egg in there let's try it with the yolk catcher so there is our second egg and then this this is all really flimsy it doesn't click into place or anything there is the yolk catcher segment so again we are just gonna we're just gonna press was there a bit firmer this time okay it's like oh no I just have to show you this sorry oh dear don't worry try that again alright take two I will read the instructions now ah there we go it's a lot more locked in place now let's give this another try and see if we can separate this yolk Oh nervous now about egg on the floor eggs for now I don't know come on oh yes it worked can you see the egg has been caught not quite as cool as the bogeyman egg separator I absolutely love that and dig it away but that's pretty cool it has cracked the shelves really really well check out our second excellent gadget is the amazing egg beater it's quite self-explanatory it's basically you pour eggs in there so we have our eggs ready already from the previous gadget and you can beat them so rather than using a fork in the bowl I could quite easily do right now we use thing which does have this sort of plastic fork already in it and I believe you press it in yes so it sort of holds in there like that little hand going hello nice to meet you so we put the eggs in this I'm gonna give it a quick wash first though alrighty giving it a little wash there now it's probably designed for one egg but we will go for two so in go our two egg yolks that's pretty darn full and the thing I like about this is you could probably season this now or add herbs and things in there before making an omelet which is what I'm gonna do so I'm gonna put a little bit of pepper in there a critical part as well getting this lid on make sure that's tight otherwise it's gonna be egg all over my kitchen not that there isn't already but anyhow let's get this out the way and give it a good old shake is it on I don't think it's on this needs some royalty-free music alright that's enough oh wow check that out there are little tribbles on the outside so I might have egg whole over me now but it has actually beaten the eggs together I have a pan right here so let's see if we can make a quick on it oh my gosh come on off you come alright having lid off problems there a little bit of butter in the pan and goes our egg let me see if it works just put some herbs in there I'm gonna put some sriracha sauce on it rule number one if something doesn't taste nice put sriracha in it oh yeah and there is our omelet little bit sriracha and herbs again Wow oh good now if this thing works it's gonna be one of the coolest gadgets I have ever reviewed this is an apple peeler corer and slicer and apparently it comes in loads of different colors so it looks like quite a medieval torture mechanism but if I pop a pearl and I have removed it from its box or like crumbs and stuff so what we've got here is just basically this huge needle thing that cause and peels the Apple and you sort wind it on and there's actually a suction cup underneath so if I've got this ah yes see that is not moving this bit here there's like a little circle a bit you can't see it too well peels it this is the bit where you obviously is very sharp you pierce the Apple on and then you wind the Apple on there and it goes through there's a hole at the end as well it caused it as well so there's three things we just need to push this back so that sort of slacks the handle not the box off the table and we insert our pomp so my apple of choice today is a pink lady we pierce it so that the actual steady bit oh wow it's going right on there goes that way into there so we've got the little bum bit this end and then we just wind it am i winding at the right rate yes I am so it should oh wow it's working look at that pattern it's making on it the actual corer is going for it as well the peeler is adjusting to the height of it that is possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen what happens at the end we just keep going we'll just keep going forever just take this look I stopped down anyone over here Oh suction cup failure okay pop this off the core is I'm gonna stab myself that is completely cooled out the Apple all holy like that holy Apple oh and look it's springy ah I snapped it but look just springy Apple how cool is that I just want to eat it huh best gadget yet today we're gonna finish the video with a flurry of food gadgets that come together quite nicely you'll notice I've got my wedding ring off and also there's some spaghetti boiling to one side just cooking quite nicely this is a stuffed ball maker it's got a stuffed ball maker because you can actually rather than just make stuffed meatballs you can make stuffed mashed potato balls as well which incidentally I've done a video of which shows very popular indeed here we go it actually arrived like this and I was pretty disappointed actually look at the state of that packaging but I'm only doing it for your viewing pleasure really so here we go this is this contraption and I think on the as seen on TV commercial might be wrong it was kind of like buy one and they give you another one completely free I don't know why they do that but it's like this you open it up like so there's free compartment so you have you put your mints in and then this bit will come over boom makes a hole in it and then you do this bit and that creates your balls your meatballs so let's try out now of course in the advert this was all really neat and it's gonna get quite messy guys I'm not gonna lie I'm gonna just probably do the two I think and what we do put our mint in there as I have and let me press down on this wow that's yes popping it out so I guess we just drag away the excess this is a lot no dirtier than I thought it would be essentially this should have made a cavity yes it has okay you can see me quite little pockets form there there's mints everywhere great just watch my hands I feel like any of you have to do that loads for this step but we're gonna fill it the meatballs we have some grated cheese like so and make sure it's relatively nicely pressed in there as well I've just put some mints in the corresponding halves like so and I'm just gonna lift it over like that and then we just press down on it oh my gosh this feels so weird it's got a liver carry cases well I took the burr press it down and you can see all those excess minutes out the side wanting to come out I'm just gonna scrape that off and then we open it up no it hasn't worked okay ah do I turn it over I wonder sandcastle come on no right let's do it by hand this is taking all of the love that I had for this gadget before I started I'm kind of gutted already but anyhow let's just put that back down to shape it again kind of like deaf stars let's get this out okay yeah okay we can work with this so on the advert they've got this really nice neat flush meatball and mine looks horrendous so I'm just gonna shape it a little bit okay that is gonna be my best shot we'll do the same with the other meatball okay so the meatball was an hour ago on the tray obviously you can pan fry them but I'm gonna bake them so I can show you afterwards what our next gadgets gonna be just about to take the meatballs out of the oven and they went in the oven for a good reason because I would normally pan fry them but this gadget that I was sent is called a devil oven Paul hello I'm an oven Paul and got a little tongue looks like a devil obviously it's made of silicon I don't know anything else about it other what I've seen online in that you can basically pull out hot shelves with it by hooking it maybe with his tongue or something like that and also dishes if they're not baked all the way to the top you can sort of stick that in as well most people would use oven gloves many people possibly might still use oven gloves with the devil pool but let's see if it worked mr. Pat Boston here we go it's getting it Wow alright open the oven allowing for the backdraft and then you use your oven cool so there Devil's horns hooking on there and put him out oh oh Mia meatball with some split not something you say every day but now what's the point here because I'm still need to lift it out so oven glove time and let's taste these it's really weird I've just taken those out the oven I thought yeah don't need oven gloves I've got my devil paw and no you definitely need them around so there's a little shame they split where that seam was where it didn't join correctly maybe we need to oil it next time but let's just cut that open okay that's not bad not this one okay ooh loving the cheese when it comes to eat in this fantastic looking dish perhaps on one side we have two options okay we have plastic finger cutlery and the twirling spinning fork which needed batteries as it always does so I put those in there let's have a little try so I think these are designed a little bit more for kids I feel like a little bit of a plasticy multicolored Edward Scissorhands right now but let's see if it works we're gonna I know let's try and grab some meatball with this port it kind of works if you use the spoon and the fork in combination like that with your index fingers and then right now what my girls are gonna love those but anyhow the twirling spaghetti Fork eating pasta has never been more fun unfortunately hasn't got this red checkered thing on it like on there they've obviously cut costs there and not even sent the sticker but you can twist up spaghetti battery operated dishwasher safe metal prong and fun and easy to use right so want to put the batteries in it one thing I did notice on it is the fork on the end of it can you see you at the front of it like that the prongs it's almost got like a baby lifting its arms up the way it looks it's pretty crazy indeed but press this button oh not that one press it up there we go it's quite noisy imagine if everyone was eating a twirling fork at the table and it was just like sounds a bit suspect so we put this in here like so oh it's working I think let's pull up the spaghetti but now do you have to eat yet no hey you - while it's twirling turn it off that does work was try it again yes lift it up quick he's taking a load on that one alright turn it off and then well so all-in-all I prefer normal cutlery over that and amazing the set of gadgets I think the apple peeler and Cora was absolutely fantastic and my favorite without a doubt if you see any fun food gadgets your many tests send me a link down below and I'll get hold of it or indeed semi some as some of you have already started getting touched by the myvirginkitchen.com contact form remember to check out the playlist and subscribe if you haven't already and I'll see you again next time
