Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Remaster is Here - The BEST Way to Play!

ladies and gentlemen I have something that is going to absolutely buggle your mind if you are a Kingdom Hearts 358 over 2 days enjoyer then this video right here is for you are you looking for a better way to be able to experience this game of course in a perfect world Square Enix ended up completely remaking this game for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix but unfortunately that's not the world we're currently living in we already know with the currently available Nintendo DS emulators we able to increase the internal resolution of DS games by about 16 times so this allows us to be able to play any of our favorite DS games at a much higher resolution making them look incredibly more crisp than what we can experience on actual DS Hardware we've known about this for a long time and I have done videos playing both days and recoded at much higher resolutions the games look fantastic to be fair almost giving you a sort of Kingdom Hearts PlayStation 1 ition experience what you guys are seeing right here though might appear a little bit different to any days content that I've recorded in the past yeah sure it looks crisp increasing that internal resolution by 16 times but there's a lot of other differences here I recently stumbled across something incredible a project that goes by the name of Kingdom Hearts 358 over 2 days melon mix created by VOR 25193 with the intention to turn days the PS version into a playable PC game with being able to play it on a single screen and with controls compatible with a regular controller what we're looking at right here is of course the DS version of days but running on a heavily modified version of melon specifically modified 4 days well it is great to be able to emulate DS games The Experience can sometimes be awkward though not obviously completely unplayable by any means because the DS uses two screens generally means that you're going to increase the upper screen to fill out most of your PC monitor or whatever device you're playing on and awkwardly have the bottom screen with additional game information uh smaller resized somewhere down the bottom or to the side of the main gameplay screen essentially what this project does is it brings all of days into one screen but on top of that we can now experience days in widescreen you'll notice that just like Kingdom Hearts 2 we now have the mini map on the main gameplay screen up the top right corner the overall heads up display has been completely modified for whatever resolution your screen is currently running generally when you're trying to force widescreen on DS emulators the heads up display obviously doesn't resize to whatever resolution you're currently using which can make the heads up display appear pair incredibly huge and very pixelated so this essentially shrinks the heads up display repositions it so that it actually looks good here in widescreen all of the day's menus have been modified as well so going into the pause menu will now bring up both of the information screens side by side and unpausing will bring everything back to the main gameplay screen all in widescreen mode also the progress bar towards your current Mission can now be seen whenever you pause the game mid gameplay and we finally have right analog stick camera controls no more having to deal with vanilla Kingdom Hearts 1 shoulder button camera controls we can finally make full use of that analog stick not just that but we also now have full customization over the command menu with yes being able to literally map d-pad inputs to the command menu so that we can scroll through it like we normally would be able to in most Kingdom Hearts games you will need to go into the input settings of this modified version of melon and remap the touch screen controls to that of your right analog stick for right analog stick camera controls the command menu go into the command menu tab and you can map the inputs to the d-pad yesterday I literally sat down for 9 hours straight and just indulged in Kingdom Hearts days and I can tell you guys right now I have never done that before this is simply the best way to be able to experience the game I genuinely have never had this much fun playing D at this point in time this really is the closest we have to something like a day's remake I mean it still is the DS version here just with a ton of enhancements chucked on top I've really got to say kudos to VOR for working on this as far as I know it's only this person that was working on this project and the very first release of this uh came out in January of 2023 with the most recent basically finalized version releasing only last month so this is something that has been worked on for a very long time additional work was also put into creating a Linux version of this which means yes this is 100% compatible for steam deck I have no idea or it or plans on doing this but I would simply love to see a recoded version I'm not just a recoded enjoyer I am a recoded lover I swear to God I will die on this hill it is the better Kingdom Hearts DS game gameplay-wise my God recoded is simply a treat compared to D Days on the other hand yeah definitely in every sense of which has the stronger narrative I should also remind you guys that there is current ly a Kingdom Hearts 2 overhaul projects that seeks to basically remake days in Kingdom Hearts 2 if you guys want to learn more about that I'll leave the link to that in the description down below something like that is a huge undertaking though and it's kind of up in the air as to whether or not the project will get finished I honestly hope so because from what we've seen of that project so far it looks incredible but if you are wanting a day fix this is absolutely the definitive way to experience the game as of right now all you guys have to do in order to experience this for yourself as of right now is to download the modified version of melon created by VOR I'll
