and do that to humble he just thanked me thank you very much sir and hard-working I said it's no big deal Joey Prusak is being called a good Samaritan but doesn't care for the title I didn't tell anyone the owners of the Dairy Queen on Main Street and Hopkins had no idea what happened until they got an anonymous email passed along from corporate your owner I was at your store on September 10th at around 1 o'clock p.m. during lunch I was standing in line as one of your employees was serving and gentleman he always pays with a debit card cuz I don't know if he's partially blind or fully blind after being served by her employee I notice any I dropped a $20 bill on the ground and the lady behind him picked it up right away and I figured it's gonna hand it back she put it in her purse instead after he walked by so he had no idea before I could say something to her your employee stepped in mm-hmm he politely asked her to give the $20 back to a young man who was blind she stood there and looked at me and then looked at the guy and she's like no it's mine it's like okay well if you're not gonna return the money then I need you to leave the store and she goes it's mine I go please leave the store what happened next I would have never expected your employee approached the young man and took out his wallet and said sir on behalf of the Dairy Queen I would like to give you the 20 give you the $20 that you dropped on the ground Nancy Pettit posted a letter for all of her employees to read someone put it on Facebook and from there it's gone viral it's nice to see a young man do the right thing and get recognized for it now others are being inspired to pay it forward to I am you are so I want to give it oh you're out 20 bucks you know it's nice to know there still are people like that in this world I didn't expect anything nor did I frankly want anything from it because it wasn't anything that I wouldn't have done on any other day 78 year-old Tana Herndon of Bethany Oklahoma was vulnerable in every way her husband of 60 years had died just two weeks earlier her eyes so clouded with grief she never saw it coming you know I really didn't know anything was going wrong until I was halfway in the car an elderly woman visits her husband's grave only to be mugged the mugger got away with her purse and $700 but not for long police caught him and the news put his mugshot on TV so first time you see that picture do you recognize who that guy is yeah in detail you had no doubt yeah how's your dad 15 year old Christian Lunsford says his parents divorced when he was 2 and his dad has been mostly absent ever since last time he heard from him was a few weeks ago his dad gave him $250 for a band trip Christian really wants to go on but that's been the extent of his parenting recently in fact over the years Christian says his dad has been in and out of jail more than half a dozen times there's times like that you just feel really low like is that gonna be me am I gonna end up like that this Apple wants nothing to do with the tree which is why after Christian heard about his dad's latest crime he reached out to the victim and asked to meet her in this church parking lot you think what's going on here he says he just had to tell her sorry about what happened it needed to be done she needed an apology from somebody if I didn't apologize who would I thought that was so so precious any fifteen-year-old boy who has that much conscience is extraordinary and Christian was just getting started he gave me $250 from my band trip man but I'm not sure if it was yours our hope however he got it but just I'd feel bad if I wouldn't didn't give it to you never mind that it wasn't his crime he paid the debt I accepted the money back and it was mine to do with what I wanted which brings us to the best part of this story she gave it all back to him for his band trip it was a joy to do that thank you in the end no money changed hands in that church parking lot but they each got something tremendously valuable from the other I feel more like my life still has a purpose you're not who you parents are I mean they even even if they do raise you you can become whoever you want to be no victims here Steve Hartman on the road in Oklahoma City it was the fourth inning a player tosses a ball into the stands two little boys wanted it but only Ian Macmillan would get it oh look at that young Brewers fan the wait a minute he is did he get oh boy sour he is sour the diamondback fan got it the announcer is watching their own play-by-play are you kidding me this kids going to do this big oh my goodness what a nice young man he's got a Diamondbacks hat but we have to get something for that kid I can't believe I just witnessed that awesome you young man or a star are awesome the game would go on in having given up his prized catch but then a phone call it seemed someone had seen his kindness on TV being told right now that he's being praised on TV he's big-league late today we met Ian - that is the right thing to do like I saw the kid he was really sad so I decided just to give the ball back my mom and my dad like taught like taught me that way so it's kind of just like natural Ian didn't leave that game empty-handed moments after giving that ball away the announcers had a special gift for the fans a baseball bat signed by his favorite player and a contract for the generous Ian in his buddies the box was really really cool I was like really surprised and like I did not see that coming he's got good home training yeah that's that's a very well-bred young man if he do good things good things will happen to you reminding us all that often what you give nice going young man delivers far more in return that even a little boy could imagine how about we're going to church it was just awesome he was never looking to get anything in return but now nine-year old Hector Montoya of Grand Prairie is learning every once in a while good deeds do come with Rewards well show you how we'll have you install it in the South's end okay he had used 300 of his own allowance dollars to buy his neighbor's smoke detectors instead of a ps4 video game system he'd been wanting for himself once word got out on his act of kindness an area family gave him that ps4 and today Walmart made sure the prize was even sweeter a new 50 inch flat-screen TV along with a 50-inch flat-screen TV he was hooked up with five video games of his choice and we just want to make sure that young man like that was was shown that that folks appreciate that it's a big sign of gratitude to a boy who was motivated to help after seeing a devastating story on the news and I said to my mom why didn't they have a smoke detector she says some people do some people don't and now that he's created so much buzz a fire safety he's hoping to get attention all the way from the White House I like to mr. Boehner to tell President Obama I know he's really busy but every house should have a working smoke detector and can you help us make it happen and we're told several area stores have joined in on Hector's initiative donating even more smoke detectors which he continues to hand out to people in his community then after 50 year-old Steve McKee was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer last year his oldest son Mitch took it upon himself to try to make the disease disappear thank you if only for a moment kind of flush it all the way and kind of have him forget about it for that moment and have everybody forget about it for that woman just be happy it was a plan only a 15 year old boy could hatch knowing how proud dads can be when their sons do well in sports Mitch a wrestler decided he would try to win a Minnesota State High School wrestling championship for his dad even though Mitch was only a freshman at the time he might not be here next year so I knew that this was a year to do it this colossally ambitious undertaking began in the weight room all summer Mitch got up every morning at 6:00 a.m. to lift and he practiced even when there wasn't practice he practiced as a result Mitch won his first match of the season and his second in fact the kid won so many matches he not only qualified for the state tournament he made it to the finals and this was it all he needed to do was win this one last match and he'd be the state champion in his weight class all he needed to do was pin this one last opponent and that cancer for a moment would disappear [Applause] after the match even the losing wrestling did a winning thing he congratulated Mitch's dad told him to stay strong while Mitch on the other hand had far fewer words he held his dad just held him from the viewit for me it was very emotional all the emotions you can ever have it right there you forget you were sick was I our life was definitely perfect at that moment you know you know I just wanted to stay right there forever you know Mitch McKee definitely did right by his dad last along and he had one thing all wrong he thought he needed a huge victory to make his dad feel better amen when all he really needed was the love behind it that was joyful Steve Hartman on the road near Minneapolis
