write it down another passage is uh acts of apostles chapter 10 verses 44 to 46. acts of apostles chapter 2 verse 1 to 4 and then chapter 10 verse 4 to 46 when the day of pentecost had fully come they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of russian mighty went and it filled the whole house where they were sitting then there appeared to them divided tongues as a fire and one sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the holy spirit and began to speak with all the tongues as the spirit gave them utterance in chapter 10 of acts of apostles chapters verses 44 to 46 it says while peter was still speaking these words the holy spirit fell upon all those who heard the word and those of the circumcision who believed were astonished as many as came with peter because the gift of the holy spirit have been poured out on the gentiles also for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify god then peter answered and peter answered and said well why are you surprised this gift is for everyone on the day of pentecost when the holy spirit was brought out the fire of god rested on the people like cloven like cloven tongues of fire the language they also spoke was said to be speaking in tongues there are three kinds of tongues there is the tongues of men on the day of pentecost by the providence of god he made the language they spoke to be a language spoken on earth so that all these people who came for a jewish convention had the gospel preached through the holy spirit using the mouth of the guys and in the upper room they were speaking their language i had experienced that once in 1985 a gentleman came from the united states to here uk and held this conference which he called power conference i uh his name was john wimber and he held it in westminster central hall i believe power of gospel fell on the place and there was a chinese lady who began to speak in french beautiful clear french magnifying god that the people beside us said she was praising and exalting jehovah praise god the holy spirit took over the vocal cords of these people in the house of apostles they began through tongue and they began to speak and uh let me just say this the holy spirit took over the vocal chords and began operating through the tongue because the first part of the holy spirit controls in our life is our tongue and one of the reasons why it controls our tongue is because the tongue can bless you and curse you in proverbs 15 verse 4 it says a wholesome tongue is a tree of life but perverseness in it breaks the spirit listen to me tonight the believers stood for conquest in life is to learn to speak the language of the holy spirit it helps you to conquer situations and battles tongues is the access password to the realms of the spirit you want to access the things of god you need to learn how to speak in the language of the holy ghost regularly because when you speak in tongues you render the natural realm useless no native tongue can reach where the speaking and tongues will access every language has its limitation in fact there are some languages that don't have some words and they have to borrow from others it's like this language we call english if you know how much of other languages are inside the english language you will be amazed you will be amazed that a lot of english is something else borrowed from somewhere but the language of the holy spirit and the beauty of tongues is that ivan talibos it may mean right now i magnify you jesus i could say the same thing and it can also mean god is going to make a way i could say the same thing a third time and it could mean my breakthrough is here because never forget this write it down speaking in tongues does not follow linguistic principles speaking in tongues does not follow linguistic principles because in linguistic principle except you are from my mother tongue of course no means no in english in my mother tongue uh the the uh the sound how do i say detonation my mother tongue is a tonal language so you can say l-o and it come in five things in my mother tongue when speaking in tongues the holy spirit gives you in new tongues they will speak with new tongues the gift of tongues was the introductory gift that opened the way for the gifts of the spirit to flow to the church the first of the gift that came upon the church upon the resurrection of christ was speaking with tongues first corinthians 14 2 says for he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to god for no one understands him however in the spirit he speaks mysteries the greek word there is on today a mystery is something you cannot understand in the time when king james authorized the bible to be translated to english mysterion means a deep thing today mysterion means something you can't understand but in bible by the time when the bible was translated mystery or mysterious means something that is very deep so when you pray in tongues highly elaborate you are getting into the deeper things of god acts 2 chapter acts 2 4 says and they were all filled with the holy spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance glory to god jesus commanded us to be open to this bundle of blessings he told us to be open he told us to be open to this bundle of blessing in acts 1 4 it says i'm being assembled together with them he commanded them not to depart from jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the father which he said you have heard from me he said they have heard from him a promise was coming they should wait in the upper room he spoke to 500 only 120 waited 3 80 went a fishing or went somewhere else tonks are the greatest gift the holy spirit can bestow on anyone because with it all the gifts just come the doors just open when you learn to pray the language of the holy ghost particularly intensely and you know what you're doing other gifts just follow all the gifts just follow it enables you to walk in the spirit and shut out the terrestrial world the terrestrial realm there are two realms celestial realm terrestrial realm the celestial realm is the heavenly realm begin to pray in the language of the holy spirit it takes you beyond this earthly realm it takes into another realm the bible says in galatians 5 22 to 24 but the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace long suffering kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness of self-control against such there is no law and those who are christ have crucified the flesh with its passion and desires in romans 8 14 paul said as many as are led by the holy spirit they are the sons of god mature children speaking in tongues convince the jewish christians that the gentiles were accepted remember where we read earlier the bible says while peter was still speaking to these people zoom the holy spirit poured out upon the gentiles and they began to pray in tongues because up to now the jews were still in their box they got born again but he couldn't see how god will accept gentiles they just they didn't get it but when the holy spirit was poured out upon gentiles and cornelius the centurion the army the army centurion and all his family his wives children people he had invited began to pray in tongues just like peter and those who came with him they knew that if god endorse these guys we cannot disapprove them you cannot pray amiss if you trend if you learn to tender your request in tongues i'm telling you if i pray in english i'm a prayer mess because my brain will be suggesting some things my brain will be bringing in all its fears all its trepidations but when i pray in the language of the holy ghost i've cut out my own trepidations and fears romans 8 26 27 likewise the spirit helps in our weakness for we know not how to pray as we ought to but the holy spirit make it intercessions for us with groanings yell of osha which cannot be altered now he who searches the heart knows what the mind of the spirit is so when you are praying in tongues you pray the mind of the spirit speaking in tongues is the weapon of the believer that's why satan tries to make that's why satan fights this particular gift you find some evangelicals who don't speak in tongues and they think they're okay so this is saucy but there are no miracles no miracles because the holy spirit speaking in tongues through you gives you the access key to other realms of the spirit hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah speaking in tongues helps to renew your mind also as you pray in the holy spirit it renews your mind i'm not jumping but let me give you a scripture we shall see later i love jude verse 20. jude verse 20. jude verse 20 says and you building up yourself upon your most holy faith by praying in the holy spirit in other words if you want to build yourself you need to pray in the holy spirit in another is a def he that prays in tongues he defies himself builds himself a building is called an eddie fist the greek word for building is oiko domain a built up domain a built of building so when you pray in the language of the holy spirit it builds your spirit speaking in tongues is the agent of the holy spirit for the transformation of the believer for the transformation of the believer tongues takes your prayer beyond the shallow waters to deeper communication beyond the shallow waters to deeper communication you can't want to catch massive two meter fish and you go to tiny streams it's not possible you gotta go to the deep the deep calls onto the deep are the sound of the water spouts first corinthians 14 verse 2 says for he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to god for no one understands him however in the spirit he speaks mysterion he speaks mysteries so when you pray in the language of the holy spirit you are getting out of the shallow waters where you catch the tiny tiny tilapias you're moving into the deep waters where you catch the big ones that is what brain in tongues does it brings you into the realm of the spirit in the dimension where your spirit man is growing and getting refreshed and connecting with god better speaking in tongues also unfolds the word of god to you john 16 verse 13 says however when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth for he will not speak on his own authority but whatever he hears he will speak and he will tell you things to come so speaking in tongues unfolds the word of god i hope you are getting it i've given you like 10 already tonight i'm going to give you 25 about 25 reasons for you speaking in tongues it unfolds the word of god because you see hiya talk about this book was written by the mind of god for prophecy came not in the old time by the will of man the holy men of god speak as they were moved by the holy spirit also we see internal evidence in the bible that the people who wrote the bible wrote it because they were told right and the law said to moses write these things and the law said to him write these things and the law said to him write this thing so they wrote by the holy spirit moses was born 2 000 years after the earth had been in existence 2 000 years so there has no there is no way he could have known the things he wrote about creation but the holy spirit who brewed it upon the earth now brewed it upon the mind of moses and showed him to write those things praying as directed by the spirit helps to eliminate selfishness it helps to eliminate selfishness romans 8 26 says likewise the spirit also helps our weaknesses for we do not know how we ought to pray but the spirit makes intercessions for us with groanings which cannot be uttered so praying in the language of the holy spirit directs your spirit and helps you to eliminate selfishness there are times you may just want to focus on certain things but when you begin to pray in tongues you cut off your selfishness nothing else builds your confidence in god like the prayer the holy spirit initiates nothing else nothing else the bible says i love this verse jude verse 20. by you building up yourselves upon your most holy faith praying in the holy ghost so let me show you as a believer when you get born again when you get born again you get the incoming of the holy spirit there are three encounters you have with the holy spirit forgive me then i'd written so much so much and all this uh all right so you have incoming in filling and then you have baptism but i will also move this infilling here again and i'll tell you why at the day of your salvation the day you receive jesus christ as your lord and savior the holy spirit comes to live inside you in coming that day you receive christ the holy spirit comes and if you have been listening to me you know that i explained clearly when the holy spirit comes it doesn't live in your chest it doesn't live in your head it doesn't live in your shoes it doesn't live in your leg the holy spirit comes to live in your spirit so the holy spirit lives in the human spirit you were dead you got born again and when you got born again and came alive the holy spirit comes to live in your spirit that's why sometimes you don't even know who is speaking your spirit the holy spirit your spirit the holy spirit because if you are really in tune with god you and the holy spirit will work together we'll work together so that is what happens at incoming then after you get born again and he comes at the incoming as you continue to walk with god ephesians chapter 5 verse 18 you get continually filled you get continually filled be filled with the spirit speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual tongues singing and making melody in your heart to the lord this one is once in coming this one is continuous and filling you get filled every day every time the holy spirit reveals you as you serve god he refuses you as you walk with god he refuses you as you as you as you move on in jesus he refills you the baptism is once you get baptized with the holy spirit once just like salvation because baptism of the holy spirit is the from the greek what baptism which means to emers so the day you receive the baptism of the holy spirit the first evidence is that you spoke in tongues how do we know the first evidence is that you spoke in tongues because i will see it later in my teaching about five times they received the holy spirit in the new testament three or four times the gift that manifested first was tongues one and on the day of pentecost as the holy spirit was poured out they all spoke with tongs two in samaria as the people received the baptism of the holy spirit i think acts chapter eight they spoke in tongues three as paul encountered some another three uh in the day in the house of cornelius acts chapter 10 they spoke with tongues so three times now and the law of witness says two or three the fourth time was when paul met some christians and said into what baptism have you been baptized they said unto the baptism of john so he baptized them in water and then after i baptized them with water i prayed for them the bible says and they were filled with the holy spirit they spoke with tongues and prophesied so an extra gift followed that day but every time people receive the holy spirit there is speaking in tongues so you get born again the holy spirit comes into you this is the difference between christians and religions the day you get born again the holy spirit comes to live in you that's what makes you a child of god john chapter 1. verse 12 and as many as received him to them he gave the power to be called the sons of god even as many as believed on his name so the holy spirit comes to live in you from that day as you continue in christ it continues to fill you when they finally pray for you to receive the baptism of the holy spirit you spoke in tongues you only receive the baptism once you may have kept quiet but if you go out for them to pray for you again to speak in tongues fine but you only get baptized once then you continue in christ you continue to be rimfilled every day refilled every time refilled every time refilled just like a pen that uses ink you keep using the pen when the ink is finished you refill the baptism of the holy spirit is our focus tonight because it is that gift of the spirit which is given to you that helps various facets of your christian life various areas of your christian life uh it is the greatest reign for an unruly tongue when you have the baptism of the holy spirit it is the greatest rain the greatest way to control your tongue james 3 verse 28 james 3 8 says well no man can tame the tongue it is an unruly evil full of badly poisoned but when you begin to learn to pray in the language of the holy spirit don't be like many believers who abuse it they're speaking tongues not the gospel of minutes later learn to recognize the presence and power of the holy spirit why must you speak in tongues why what is its connection to the whole of your life why what part does it play when it comes to the other gifts of the spirit how does speaking in tongue help you as a believer so let us establish this fact first then when you receive the holy spirit he calls it all the dynamo the power of god into you the day you receive the holy spirit he comes with all these things then we begin to it begins to unfold the bible says acts chapter 10 verse 38 how god anointed jesus christ of nazareth who went about with holy spirit and with power who went about doing good and healing those who are oppressed of the devil for god was with him then jesus himself said in acts chapter 1 verse 8 as he was about to ascend to heaven but you shall receive power after that the holy spirit is come upon you then levosha stirred up that's why we pray in tongues so this power is in you it is there dormant but it needs to be it's like the communion wine inside this thing if i don't shake it the wine remains dormant same shall remember the lord your god for it is he who gives you the power to get wealth that he may establish his governor which is what your father's as it is this day but many people are not getting wealthy because they do not realize that you need to stir up the power to get wealth same thing the power of the holy spirit you can't just say i've been baptized with the holy ghost all right the holy spirit uh everything is fine now we'll see you later you stare up you stare up the stirring up is done when the holy spirit gives you a gift called tongs when you pray regularly in tongues the gift is called charisma or glossolalia glossolalia is the tongues charisma also or charismata is the gift the power that follows the glossolalia glossolalia is to speak the language is to speak in tongues so i pray for you today that something will happen in your life by the power of god in the name of jesus and your life will never be the same so speaking in tongues has to be stirred up remember again my favorite verse on this jude verse 20 and you building up yourself upon your most holy faith by praying in the holy spirit so as you speak in tongues it stands up for their gifts it kindles the fire it kindles healing it kindles the work of miracles it kindles the prophetic it kindles everything so that's why you must not stop praying in tongues as you in fact and one of the ways i pray in tongues when i am when i'm focusing on the on a need is that i focus on that need i pray in tongues with my mind focus on the thing believing that as my mind is focused the answer follows as my mind is focused the answer follows as my mind is focused the answer follows but many people are not receiving because they don't know how to stir up so speaking in tongues is your ayat it is your access key to supernatural power your access key to supernatural power i was watching a guy a pastor on a tv program called it's supernatural it's a baptist pastor baptist seminary strained the apostles to the anti-tongues and i and this guy said all he did was to keep teaching against speaking in tongues but then suddenly god visited their church and there was revival souls were getting saved souls were getting saved by the hundreds but no miracle no healing no deliverance no breakthroughs and he cried to god what is the problem and the holy spirit began to speak to him that you have been antagonistic to the working of the holy spirit you have interpreter speaking in tongues with the goggles of your church put the goggles aside he said it in his own what he said the goggle of his church he spent tens of thousands of dollars together that meant that his theological education because he's got a masters in divinity he had uh he had all kinds of uh training he he couldn't break out of it until the holy spirit gave them that insight and the moment god gave him that insight things began to change boom he began he they took him to a prayer meeting where they helped him to pray in the language of the holy spirit and the moment he received speaking in tongues his life changed his ministry changed the dimension of the revival and cr increased when you pray in the language of the holy spirit your life changes speaking in tongue comes through the laying on of hands and even if we can't lay hands on you in australia in america where you are anointing is dissipated through words so wherever you are tonight if you've never spoken the language of those will get ready because tonight is your night is not another night tonight is your night it's not another night tonight is your night it's not another night you will connect with power and you will speak with the language of the holy spirit today the bible says concerning paul acts 19 verse 6 and when paul had laid hands on them the holy spirit came upon them and they spoke with tongues and prophesied yeah i told you about this passage they spoke with tongues and prophesied speaking in tongues comes as hands are laid on or when you are prayed for in acts 10 verse 44 45 peter did not lay hands as he prayed for the people to receive the holy spirit bam the power of god hit them while peter was still speaking these
