KhTZ: Ukraine's Most Dangerous Hood 🇺🇦

greetings from the old historical center  of the eastern ukrainian city of kharkiv   i've been here about a week enjoying myself  but everyone i bump into tells me one thing   and that is do not under any circumstances  venture to the grim industrial suburb of KhTZ   they say it's dodgier than  a bolivian narco village   well i kind of miss my bolivian narco  village but i think i might like old   so i thought today we're going a little adventure  together let's go and check out this gopnik region   join me however just in case old razer is really  dodgy i'm bringing with me some muscle look after   me so um let me introduce you johnny hey how  you doing my brother you're looking smart thank   you this some of you may know is my good mate  johnny fd hey guys he is the mongolian warlord   who is going to look after me on this trip  to cutter are you ready you're looking   strong you're looking what you didn't  say anything about gonna hate hazard   okay i didn't tell him all the details of the  trip but we're gonna go to kathy no no no no   hey hey hey hey come back here i need some  muscle i need some muscle i'm going to convince   him on the way we're going to patch this there  we're having an adventure are you in well okay   if we're going to go to hot desert we can't  go dressed like this we look too too sharp   we look too fancy he's right actually let's  go and buy some kataze outfits let's do it yes yes this young lady has taken us to the  adidas shop the fake adidas shop don't turn on my three percent of female  viewers please don't turn them off what do i look like do i look like a um  what do you reckon yeah you look like   you look tougher do i look tougher instantly uh and not one compliment for me he's beautiful  and big and she didn't say anything about me   and i'm the one paying it it looks more fancy  yeah yeah it looks more fancy like that minion rabbit right then it's time to um  face what might be the most   difficult obstacle of the day and that is  the um metro babushkas that's um let's hope   everything goes okay johnny will protect  me johnny are you ready for the publishers come on then let's do it we'll be okay well since my last visit to a metro  and haku i've learned you can just   use your flipping bank card instead  of having to ask mega bank for change the metro station that we're going to in  the heart of hathaway is called tractor such a romantic name for a region of the city this lady was telling me that um there's some new  buildings coming up amongst the old like rougher   part of the neighborhood so you have the new rich  kids that live there and the old gothnic children   and um when they meet in the playground things  go down so um this lady explained everything and she said pull your tag off it looks ridiculous metro publisher didn't see  me today i'm gonna be okay that way or that way one of these  ways could get us killed you can't   make the wrong decision i think that  way more people going that way let's go beyond that door that door   is the most feared neighborhood not just  in harkov in all of ukraine all right i wonder if there's a mega bank the first  thing we see is some lovely cutters tiles   and what i like about it is these are tractor  wheels those are cutters they're tractor wheels   they're still standing and over here  we have mega bank mega bank spa yes this one's a payback mega bank wow we're now going to get our  first real view of how to say   and i'm liking it so far  look at the old metro wall wow i'm not sure if we're just going to be like  attacked immediately by gopnik's or if you know   that comes a little bit later when  we go deeper into our chat actually while johnny is having a pee in  the bushes let's just have a little   appreciation we can see so far at the  end there's a big old soviet building   over there's a bus station that still hasn't  changed since whenever it's built and over   there is a lovely sign saying let's go and check  it out we'll wait for johnny to do his pee first what have you found you syringe oh my god you  pee the hell with your head well we've been in   hutters at literally a minute and johnny's  found i don't think that's a kobe vaccine i   think that's probably something else but um yeah  should we no we won't we won't we went bloody hell not very nice all right i'm  sure we've just been unlucky   to find the worst bush in hattaz the  first bush i'm sure it gets better tractor needs a vod parkour tractor factory these are the kind of shops you can shop at in old  classes there if you want to come here for the day   you can imagine in old soviet times  in wonderful cutters there this would   have been you know flowers and things growing  and water shooting up and things but um yeah   johnny what's your first impression of  kataze i wanted to walk to the tortoise   but i was afraid to step on a syringe oh  oh yeah might be some hazards i don't know   and there's a random woman in a dressing gown  just walking through the park talking to a tree here we have what they are saying is a hatter  said family i very much doubt they look like   that the kid would have bruises the  dad would have a needle in his arm is is never been used since 1972. oh uh oldest wow wow look at that um this lady's been working in this library since  1967 yeah she was the director of the baby 90s let's continue our journey deeper into haters  wow there you go that's what the adventures you   can have in old cat is there we haven't been  beaten up we've been given a tour of a lovely   library where are you it really is a beautiful  library that was nice we weren't expecting that   is it and what lovely people what lovely  um tourney ludi we have here in katazet   not like everyone told me in the center right  deeper anyway into you can go deeper we're going   deeper we're penetrating i feel like penetrating  khataze today that's better let's do it now let me just explain to you why   exists and that's because during the 1930s stalin  wanted to industrialize agriculture they created   the state farms the problem was stalin also killed  all the farmers so you had these giant farms with   not enough workers and so what did they have  to do they had to build tractors and so in two   cities in a former soviet union chelyabinsk and  here in hakov they built huge tractor factories   and hence this town or this part of parking i  should say is called harkov tractor factory region that lady didn't say what i wanted her to say on  film i wanted to tell us how dangerous that she'd   been mugged at least three times burgled pretty  much every night but she didn't she said okatizer   it's pretty krasner it's it's wonderful damn but  what we can do johnny this is ruining the film   that's not the narrative i want i want the  narrative to be dodgy not like oh it's wonderful   here i mean what's the point of coming here but  have you noticed that even though we're dressed   like [ __ ] not a single person even noticed  or commented on it we do blend in rather well johnny that guy over there staring me out  can you go and sort him out please just like   tell him what's what on here on uh a whole everyone loves his hair he pours his beer like an albanian  chicken farmer it's good enough cheers my friend to um let's make a toast so  far it's a wonderful khataze the friendliest   surprisingly part of khaki but say yeah foreign myself and johnny are walking through the old  kataze um children's play park as you can see   still the same from soviet times  and here we have the wild children   of kataze my god little future got mix but right  now they're okay let's hope they don't attack us yes oh there you go i've just got myself  some more subscribers here in kataze   and there's a man going through  the bins the other side of kataze that's the two sides you've got the young  kids growing up and they're happy and   thinking about their future and then you've got  a man whose future hasn't quite worked out for   him rooting through the bins looking  for some bottles the two sides of um all right so we found out the reason why hot zed  had such a bad reputation and it's because it   actually legitimately used to be dangerous  before they built these big roads they're   well lit and just safe you just have to walk  through kind of dense floors kind of like this   to get anywhere there's two big parks and now  there's buildings and streets and street lights   so it's very safe but just five years ago you  literally have to walk through something like this   full of kind of dense forests and trees to  get anywhere to get to your dance class so   get to the supermarket you get to school get to  work and it'd be easy for someone just to rob   you because it's completely dark and that's the  old heart i said that's the criminal history of   hathazed according to johnny fd kind of content  you get from him the biggest criminal art does it   and here is the last victim of hataze she lost  her shoes during the um well whatever went down   here in the park of khatazeed we found  three local residents who are dressed   you may notice in exactly the  same clothes adidas dolce gabbana and one gopnik on the end look at this gopnik  here what are you doing what are you doing you're the biggest got making kata well that's it guys it's the um  the hutter zed adventure is over   hope you enjoyed it what do you reckon told cutter  said then did it live up to its reputation for   terribleness i can see there's pockets  of bad terribleness but in general   it's it's safe now like ukraine is much safer  than london san francisco new york any big city   in the west event even dodgy hat is safer  than south chicago so if you want to visit   come on over you'll have a good old time and  meet some nice locals what was your highlight probably uh every literally every moment johnny  had a great time had a Not a very interresting video. He 's done this countless times. Explaining about the consensus that suburbs of major cities in the Eastern Bloc / Former USSR are total shit but they ain't and he's gonna show it to you by talking with babushkas.

I think long-haul adventures are way more fulfilling to watch than two guys roaming the streets, stuff i do all the time.
