-Thank you for playing
"Beat Battle" with me. You are amazing. Oh, my gosh. Every time you come on,
we always have fun. -No, now I know how much work
you put in, like, behind the scenes. -Oh, because now
you have a talk show. -Because I have
all these fun ideas, and they're like, "Let's do it." And then you're like, "Oh, you
have to do it every time." -Yeah, exactly.
That's exhausting. -Yes. I'm so short.
Sorry I'm sitting up. -No, that's great.
You can sit up, too. -I have lots of pillows
on my show 'cause I'm short. -You're saying our show --
-We have pillows on our show. I guess yours isn't as cool. -Um, I guess your show doesn't
have pillows, so I'm just saying, I guess my
show is better than your show. I want to talk to you
about the show, but I also want to say, here's
why I think it's going to work. People like you.
The people really like you. -Sometimes. -And you love to talk, but you're also --
You're very nice to talk to, but you also -- When I watch you
on "The Voice," you're very nice
to other artists and you care about
other artists and you care about people
and you listen to people. And I think that's what's
going to make this show work. You just did a thing on Twitter
that I really thought was cool, 'cause Taylor Swift was going
through this whole thing where Scooter Braun bought her
rights to all of her albums, and she was like,
"I had no say in that." And you put out a tweet, and
I thought this was pretty nice. You said, "Hey, Taylor,
just a thought -- you should go in
and re-record all the songs that you don't own
the masters on. Exactly how you did them,
but put brand-new art and some kind of incentive so
fans will no longer buy the old versions. I'd buy all the new versions
just to prove a point." And --
[ Cheers and applause ] You don't have to do that. And I heard that Taylor Swift
is actually doing that. -Yeah, no, she ended up doing --
We saw each other, actually, after I did that. And everybody thinks
I was trying -- I wasn't really trying
to defend or offend anyone. It was more of, like,
Reba told me she did that. Like, that was it.
-Oh, really? -That was all.
She told me she did that. She wanted to own her masters,
and I was like, "Well, if it's that important to
you, like, find a way." And she re-cut all her music and did the same musicians,
same everything. -Reba did this. -That's where I got the idea.
Yeah. -Well, she heard you. -But, I mean, she's --
Taylor is, like, the artist -- She's been writing since
she was a little girl, right? So it's, like,
kind of her diary, so I get why she'd want to -- I don't really care about
owning my masters. I'm just like, "Whatever. I'm going to sing until
I'm dead. It's fine. It will be fine. And then somebody can
make money off of it. I don't care." But hers is more --
Like, I write like half, you know, a little more
than half my stuff, and hers is 100% of it,
so it's hers. So I can see how
it would matter. -Well, good for you
for sticking up to her. That's pretty cool. -Yeah, no,
I stick up for everybody. Hopefully they'll be there
for me when I need it. -Yeah. "The Voice" -- really quickly,
how is our pal Blake doing? -Oh, he's great. Honestly, he's fun
to work with, y'all, 'cause I've never worked with
Gwen on this show, and she really ropes
the cowboy in. Like, he's nice.
-What? -It is funny to watch he and --
Like, she'll like, "Blakey, I want this one,"
and he'll not fight as hard. -What?!
-It's so fun! -Oh, my gosh. "Blakey."
-I know. She says "Blakey,"
and I'm dying. -That's hilarious.
-Yeah. Let's talk about the show,
"The Kelly Clarkson Show." -Yes. -Last time we were here,
we were talking about -- Because the idea was in the air. -Works, yeah. -And now it's actually --
It's happening tomorrow. -Yeah, and I love it.
-And you have your band there? -My band from the road, yep. -So your band
is your house band. -Yeah. Yes.
-And you sing a song every show? -Yes. It was like --
Well, it started out -- 'Cause we've been doing it
on tour for years. Like, I mean, over a decade. And I thought, "Well, we'll just
incorporate it in the show, and it will make me more
comfortable, like, right when the show starts. -And does the band
know everything? 'Cause, I mean,
I have a superhuman group. -I do, too. -I've never met any people
like these. -And you know what I think?
[ Cheers and applause ] I mean, obviously. Obviously. And my band also knows every
song in like three keys, 'cause it depends on
the time of month. -Okay. All right. All right.
Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. -My voice gets lower
every once in a while. -Let's talk about --
-You're welcome. That's what you're going to get
on "The Kelly Clarkson Show." -You're going to get
a lot of -- Yeah. -PMS. Let's talk about our
menstrual cycles, yeah. -Your first guest -- one of our
favorites, Dwayne Johnson. -Saved the day. -Now, what do you mean
he saved the day? -Literally, like in the movies
that he's in, he saved the day. I was --
Kevin got in an accident, and Kevin was actually
my first guest. -Kevin Hart.
-Kevin Hart, yeah. -Yeah.
-And he got in an accident. Obviously, humans
matter more than our show, and so we were all worried
about that at first. And then we started
freaking out. 'cause it was like
literally hours before the show. Like, we were taping,
and he literally -- Dwayne Johnson came from
his honeymoon a day early to do me a favor. And we don't even --
We're friends now for life, whether he likes it or not. But, like, we didn't know
each other before, and I thought that is
the kindest thing to do, 'cause I'm going to be real
with y'all -- on my honeymoon -- I mean,
I didn't meet my man until 30. I definitely was not going to be
hanging out with other people on my honeymoon. -Yeah, no, yeah.
I want to show a clip. This is exclusive.
-Okay. -A clip from your show. -And it was a surprise
for us, too! Yay, Dwayne!
