Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Note: This isn't me, this is a climber named Takayasu Semba - I just thought it was a cool video. He also has some clips on his channel from other climbs (Vinson, Everest, Aconcagua, etc.)
Great vid. I wish we saw some lead footage. Stepping on the rope so many times with crampons makes me cringe!
Uh, anyone going to mention the tumbling body at 2:30? I guess I've never really thought what it would look like.
Based on ascent date, appears to have been Canadian Climber Serge Dessureault
Edit: Looked again - not on my phone - definitely equipment. Regardless, still tragic and a reminder of the realities of the sport.
Just look at all that leftover tat hanging down the house chimney! I can see how they'd probably be too worked to pull all those static lines or old ones would be untrustworthy or frozen in ice. But this is crazy. Imagine how many more people will leave stuff there. Who's going to clean it up?
Literally my dream, this is an awesome video.
The ladder climb through the black pyramid looks fucking terrifying.
What do they only have a clove hitch on a non locking biner in the chimney? Doesn't that fly in the face of normal pro?
