miss miniver hamdulillah some alhamdulillah Hill lady are superb salut who will hold of edenia hapa lead hero viola de Nicola kafa billahi Shaheed sallim wa barik ala nabina muhammad alayhi wa sahbihi ajma'in where i should do in the ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika ashhadu anna muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh and about sir mr alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu okay the topic of my talk today was dara our responsibility and obligation and I actually think I covered that yesterday you see that sufficiency masha'Allah I am a competitive person chefs say it gives me two lectures I say not happy by doing one I'm gonna be done but I think today I'll cover a few things with regards to dare wa that hopefully in sha allah who tara will leave you with a better understanding of what it means and its implications but i would be a miss not to mention as a form of dara that what what holiday is celebrated today eastern easter activity is a holiday from Babylonian times called Ishtar Easter is actually a holiday that was derived at the time of Babylon and it is a holiday that celebrates fertility and reproduction that's why there are eggs and one of the symbols of the goddess of fertility was the bunny rabbit he thought that had to do with Jesus no no and when Constantine declared Christianity as the official religion of the Roman Empire this holiday was translated over into Easter to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus so this holiday along with almost every other holiday that comes across is pagan in its very origin and it is something that Muslims should stay away from our prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam he said we have a dine we have two aids Idol fitter at the end of Ramadan and it allowed her to celebrate and to remember the story of ibraheem alehissalaam and sacrifice that's it that's it everything else is these pagan rituals that have been turned into commercial holidays basically just to take your money don't even get me started on the whole Christmas and that's actually comes from Norse mythology with Walden you know who invented Santa Claus really quick anybody know who invented the man in the red suit with the white beard the big buckle if anybody knows that I'll make sure they give you a gift anybody know who invented this Santa Claus guy just yell it I can hear you huh no anybody no no coca-cola do you think I'm lying and I'm joking no coca-cola because before the depiction of Santa Claus is a very old man with with with a scraggly beard who rode like this weird-lookin riding animal in beast but coca-cola said we cannot put that on our bottles we cannot put that in our advertisements so they hired an artist to create a Santa Claus that would be more appealing and more happy and more jolly so he created the fat man in the red suit in the beard in the Hat coca-cola invented send the clothes ok now the topic of my discussion i've diverged enough darah this is going to be interactive I'm a psychologist by I studied psychology in secular sciences so I like to ask questions this was also the Sunnah of our prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam when teaching his companions he would ask questions and the reason why you ask a question is because it opens the listeners mind because if I'm just talking then you can fade out and it can go in one ear and out the other but if I ask you a question I focus you and cause you to have to pay attention to what I said because you need to respond and your brain has to work a little bit more more synapses have to fire off and you have to think what does the word dare wa linguistically mean linguistically I'm just talking about the word itself in the language of Arabia what does Dhara mean coming from the root darah what does it mean sisters what does that mean yes to call to make an invitation that simple as that when I was invited to come here to give these talks in Kenya I was given linguistic Dawa an invitation come come here now linguistically linguistically speaking to call to invite to something who does the best and the greatest and the most efficient there were on the planet as of today who does the most best efficient that were calling to something in the world today it's one particular individual excellent at it no not yet chef on am I right or am I wrong Chevonne even allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala reminds us in the quran then of the day of qiyama when we tried to blame him for the mistakes that we have made in the sense that we are done what will he respond and say I only called you and you listened I gave you Dara you listened so you can't blame me Shaitaan is very good at it because he's had a lot of practice he's been doing this since the beginning of us but he calls - what he calls to disbelief bottle falsehood transgression sins but he's good at it but linguistically he gives very efficient arawa islamically the hour means to call to one thing this is the point that I want to be understood today because I see many many many many people in organizations and and most of the times they're not really cognizant of what they're doing but doing things that they are calling Dara that aren't getting to the core of what that was about I don't want to say they're not doing that work cuz they're doing good work but they're not getting to the core of the reason of Dara Dara WA is to call to one particular thing alone what is that raise your hand if you know one thing one word yes sister tell heeds masha'Allah there are world alert or hate we are inviting people to the oneness of allah subhanahu wata'ala alone that is the primary and end focus of tawheed is to invite people to say la ilaha illallah this is the hour so no matter what you are doing and calling it calling to Islam the core of it should be that you are inviting people to accept the message of their heat that is Dawa alone people always ask me how do I give dower you call people to tolerate how do I give that word to my family call them Tauheed how do I give the hour to my friends call them to Tahiti there are more specific ways of doing it because each and every human being is uniquely different but the overall general rule of Dawa is that it must be calling people to the oneness of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala alone this is the Shahada negation of other things la ilaha there is no other illa Allah except Allah this is the core of our Dawa and it must be so this is the most simplest concept of calling people to Islam and this is what works it's what it's what made me become a Muslim was the Islamic concept of the oneness of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala it was so simple to understand that Allah is one alone uniquely one unlike anything else this was easy for me to understand this is what Sderot is all about calling people to Torah he did and then after that you're asking them to accept Islam in all of its principles simple enough you're asking them to accept Islam in all of its principles you're not asking them to follow Islam and all of its principles right now today the day after they accept this land you throw the the rulebook at them so here you go these are all your do's and don'ts no it's not appropriate because tell he needs to be settled firmly in the heart before do's and don'ts even make sense because even us as Muslims we do not fully comprehend why Allah has told us to do everything he has told us to do and why he has not told us to do everything he's told us not to do yes or no there are certain things we don't know if some and if you think as a dolly or a Dahlia there you have the answer to everything then your debt was already flawed your that was already flawed if someone were to ask you why do you pray five times a day why not three or one or seven what logical response do you have for that and you don't have one the reason we pray five times a day rather than any of the number is because that's the way Allah commanded it to be and you accept that because you have a man inter hate you understand you see it's a difference so Tara heat must be primary aisha radi allahu i now what although she said that if the rules of had al Haram were the first thing that Allah revealed then people would have ran away from the religion of lslam they would have ran away if it was just the rules in the beginning do this and don't do this she said no what came first were the verses of John and Nam and her hate in a loss of Hannah hwacha then he could reveal the verses of halal and Haram and they would be accepted without question this was why the Companions were the people who were known as Samina what and they listened and they obeyed they did as they were told because of the e men in Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala so Dara is to tell Haydon now there are were all of you should know is a part of the deen of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala it is how the deen of allah continues to flourish as i spoke about yesterday it was the primary Sunnah of our prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam everything in islam has its place everything in islam has its place this is another beautiful thing about the religion of allah as is our job that I love I am a person who has borderline OCD issues when it comes to order I like for everything to have a place everything to be in order and that is something that is beautiful about the religion of Allah is that everything has a place everything has an order everything has a rule everything is so systematic and beautiful masha'Allah Tabarrok Allah and easy the Deen of Allah is easy only the people make it difficult and we are very good at doing that Subhan Allah Allah Allah Stan we are so good at making things rough and tough in difficult and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said he wishes for you 'yes he does not wish for you difficulty so if everything has a place then there has a place in the rulings of islam it is either something that has no ruling meaning that it's just however you want to do it if you do it it's fine if you don't do it it's fine whatever it's okay go as you please like playing basketball it's not it's not you have a ruling you can do it no problem sell L or it is something that is disliked macro meaning that you shouldn't do it but in if you do it there is possibility of punishment but it's not a set standard if sin or it is haram meaning that you must not do it and if you do it you will be punished for not doing so so let's take these three simple categories for now we're just gonna make it simple it is either Haldol it's okay you can do it it should not be done or it cannot be done how many of you think that the Iowa is just hell you can do it if you don't do it no problem no worries raise your hand I want to know it's allowed you can do it but you don't have to if you don't do it you won't be punished how many of you think that if you don't do that way yourself personally you will not be punished about what's happening over to Adam raise your hand I want you to be honest this is the only way we learn sister yes masha'Allah we learn through honesty okay how many of you think that his macaroon shouldn't do it probably not how many of you think that it is impermissible no okay I left that one more category which is formed watch it it's mandatory something that is mandatory you must do it and if you do not do it you will be punished for not doing it how many of you think that that will falls into that category that is mandatory and if you don't do it you'll be punished for doing it raise your hand high okay hands down how many of you just don't know when you want to know your maid quit beating around the bush and get to the point handed 11 this is the reason why we do this there is one verse from the Quran that explains the ruling of devil and where it falls in this sliding scale and it is in surah Taha and I quoted it yesterday where Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala says you do unless unless available bill bill Drabek a bill heck matamoros it al hasanat didn't be lied to us and forgive me I'm on some pain medication that makes my mind a bit loopy the very first word which which translates as call into the way of your Lord with jicama there's also a rule of Dawa that it must be done with jicama with wisdom and with good speech and argue with them in a way that is beautiful it is better the very first word of this verse lays out the ruling obligation of Dawa what is the very first word comes from what root word there are the same as the word Dawa but the word order has taken a grammatical stance this is why the Quran should be understood in the language with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala revealed it because there are nuances that give you so much to the depth and meaning the word the role has taken a grammatical stance where Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala is making meaning out of the way the word is constructed what grammatical stance has the word or they're all taken what form is this in grammar phenomena meaning that it is a command meaning that it is an order from Allah Subhanahu WA to Anna he has framed this word at the beginning of this verse as a command now is it a general command meaning that it's for whomever reads this verse or is it a specific command meaning it is for speaking to a group of people or someone in particular it's a little deep now it's general it was first addressed to the prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam but nowhere in the verse does it speak to anyone particular it does not say o you who believe or old Benny Israel or all people of the book oh yeah you Hannah be no profit no it just begins with the command that anyone who lays eyes across this verse or here's this verse being recited they have been given an order from Allah to call people to his way with wisdom and with good speech now something that is an order from Allah is something that must be done and not doing so means that you will be punished for not doing it this word this phrase reaches the same status of order as when Allah says a pea masala establish the salah zakah pay zakah all of these rulings have the same regulation that they are commanded to be done some now if they are in order and you will be punished for not doing so a few things also come into play you know the number one excuse I get for people not giving Dara anybody know the number one excuse come on I'm sure you've given it a few times what's the number one excuse for people not doing it yes sister time time time is one of them but there's another deeper one that people use it's up here they don't have knowledge okay we don't have knowledge how to give the hour we don't know anything okay does that excuse you why why does it not excuse you because Allah has ordered it and by default in the rulings of allah subhanahu wata'ala anything that is given as an order the knowledge of how to implement it is also an order we're told and commanded to pray five times a day correct if I were to tell you that I've been a Muslim for 20 years this year will be 20 years but I have never prayed outside of Gemara because I do not know how to pray am I excused from bring no why not I don't know how this is the excuse you give me for that well you don't know why no because if you don't know then you must learn if you are ignorant of that Ola then it is not an obligation on you right now to go out and give that one it is an obligation on you to learn how to give that hour just like if it was an obligation for you to pray and you didn't know how to pray I'm not gonna tell you just go pray however you want to know I'm gonna tell you your obligation is to learn how to pray and then as soon as you know how to pray on your own then you're responsible for brain that way is exactly the same brothers and sisters if you do not know how to give that or right now then your obligation is to learn how and in the moment you are able to do so on your own you have a responsibility to humanity to share the message of tawheed do you know why because number one it is an honor that Allah has bestowed upon us above all other things even greater than the order that Allah has given it is an honor it is an answer for this um this Ummah is the arm of the hour this is how we are known as the Ummah of the hour why do I say this because before us allah sent messenger and prophet after messenger and after prophet correct yes he would send one prophet than another than another then another then another yes or no and he commanded all other nations before us Allah says in surah bayyena that all of the nations before us what were they commended they were commanded to worship Allah make the Deen pure for him establish Salah Bay Zeca with Ali called in Okayama that was the right way for them that was the Dean for them the Dean for them was to hold on to what they had and continue to worship Allah and wait for the next messenger to come correct yes that was their job but with the coming of our prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam cut the manner being the seal of all messengers no one would come after him he himself a laser out the worse Aram said that there will be no one after me but he did say and if there were going to be someone after me who would it have been it would have been armored or are they alone and he said if they were going to be an ER be after me or even tomorrow but there would be no more so but also the prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam and Allah Azza WA JAL knew that there would be succeeding generations after the death of our prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam there would come more people and more people who needed to hear the message of tur heed but the son of allah is that he sends his message with a person with a prophet with a messenger he doesn't speak out of the clouds he doesn't cause the trees to talk to you he doesn't cause angels to come and converse with us he sends it through people but with the death of our prophet alayhi set out to us Aram at the farewell sermon of our messenger alayhi surat to a certain he passed the torch of dara to this Imam making us contemplate an omelette and okra Gelinas making us the best of Nations why because we would become the torch bearers of Dawa a job that wasn't given to any other nation there is a reason why Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala favored this Ummah and said I will put them first on the day of p.m. with honour and dignity there is a reason why this Ummah will become a witness over other nations is because of this Dawa that was entrusted to us that Allah had never entrusted to any anyone else other than his NBA this is a true honor from Allah Subhanahu WA to Anna it is our essa if you look at the history of this ummah if you study the history of the nation of alit's them from the time of the prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam we were the strongest when we were strong in our Dawa when we cared about the souls of other human beings when we took into consideration the soul of others Allah honest and favoured us but the moments in history that we became too preoccupied with our victories and our wealth and our families and whatever it is that beguiled us from our responsibility to share the message of tawheed began to take it from us until this day we find ourselves in a situation of villa humiliation which the prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam prophesized for this month he said after me you arethe this state of humiliation and Allah will not remove it from you had that RG or Allah Dini come until you go back to your religion Dara is the core of our Deen Dara is the core of the Sun it is what causes Islam to stay alive amongst mankind we need to be more responsible in sharing this message we live in a world we live in a world that does not understand us anymore that mistrusts us that is suspicious of us and let me tell you something brothers sisters I like being a guest speaker why because I can say what needs to be said and I don't have to worry about the repercussions from you you can't fire me you can just not invite me back how many no problem earth is a big place but the world mistrusts us the world is suspicious of us the world is ignorant of us and I don't blame them I don't blame them do you know why I do not blame them because I have the unique opportunity to know what it looks like on the other side as a revert for the first eight as a non-muslim for the first 18 years of my life I know what it looks like on the other side of the fence and if I were still on the other side of the fence I would probably have the same apprehensions about you that the majority of non-muslims have I probably wouldn't trust you I probably would be afraid of you I probably would have apprehensions of you why because you have not done your job to show me otherwise respect is earned yes or no we live in a world that respect is earned if you want honor if you want respect it is earned it is not granted freely you must earn that you want that favor that Allah gave to his companions yes or no Asia and if you want the favor in Asia that Allah gave to the Companions of the Prophet all a set out the words to them raise your hand we want it guess how you will get it you will get it the way they got it you earn it mmm malik rahim allah - allah said what rectified at the beginning of this illness will rectify the end of this and that rectification of the beginning of this ummah was through their dedication to allah subhanahu wata'ala and his messenger and their concern for the Dawa to spread across the globe that was their concern I will end with one small snippet in sha allah the companions cared about people our prophet they were following why because they were following the footsteps of our nebby Salvaje or salim who cared about people there are too many instances for one mixture of him going and giving that our like to the young Jewish boy who had nothing that could he could give him he was not going to be of any benefit to our prophet Elise that was said and yet he still rushed to his side and begged him to say la ilaha illallah the way he treated his uncle on his deathbed our prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam cared about the souls of other human beings and his companions followed in his kind and they shared Islam throughout the world and those who came after them those who came after them we have to share that same concern we have to share that same concern like if you go to China to Beijing anyone here been to Beijing raise your hand you been to Beijing Beijing there's a Masjid in Beijing this over a thousand years old sir over a thousand years old and in the courtyard of this Masjid not inside the Masjid but in the courtyard is the graves of the two people who established this Masjid to worship allah subhanhu a with that over a thousand years ago what does that mean to me to me I think about that say subhanAllah to people all the way from Arabia had to have a in their mind and said to eat the Habibi we gonna go that way and we're gonna go that way too he can't go that way anymore and then when we get to the end of that we're gonna give that over to those people and to trial across asia at this time in history was not-- it was no easy task they went through a lot of hardship to share the message of islam how many muslims are in china now how many muslims over 100 million yeah you see that our can change the world that our can change everything we just have to put our trust in allah subhanahu wata'ala and put work and effort in for it we have to work a little bit Allah rewards work he rewards effort sincerely for him I give you this last analogy and I hope this sticks with you if nothing else I have said to you during this time with you in Nairobi has stuck with you I hope this analogy sticks with you there's a reason why I lost Japan Oh Hobart Allah uses analogies in the Quran because they stick with us analogies hit home let's say I had a friend and of course this is hypothetical hypothetical let's say I had a friend yeah this friend I had known him for a long time we were roommates for years and he gets this sickness he he he contracts a disease and that disease is a disease like unlike any other it might not even show any real outward physical symptoms very seldom will it show much and he always says you know no I'm fine but then towards the end he starts he's gonna suffer very badly terribly and he will die the worst death that can ever be imagined by any human being and I know this I know I'm very well know about it and let's say someday one day someone comes to me that I know and trust and they hand me a pill they put a pill in my hand and they say if you give your friend this pill we'll call him Abdullah for namesake if you give Abdullah this pill it will 100 and cure him guaranteed and he will never suffer from this disease again and he will die a sweet easy death guaranteed so I take the pill but I don't give it to him I don't give it to him I go home and I put it in my desk why don't I give it to him I'll tell you why I have excuses number one I don't have time I'm a busy man I have work I have school I have family I have too many things going on my life than to worry about giving Abdullah this pill number two I'm not a doctor I don't I don't have the right to be prescribing medication to another human being I'm not a doctor if he wants this medicine he needs to go see the doctor or the doctor needs to go see him it's not my responsibility and number three I know Abdullah he's stubborn he's hard-headed he's feisty if I try to give him this pill we're gonna get into an argument it's gonna lead into a whole big thing so I don't give it to him and now he he lives the rest of his life and he dies the most painful death you can ever imagine I want to ask you a hypothetical question if this was a real scenario on the day of judgment do you think Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala would question me about this situation if this really happened do you think Allah would question me about this oh yes he would because I have oppressed Abdullah by not easing his pain and suffering when I had every capability of doing so and I could be held accountable for it very very likely that I'm gonna be held accountable for the oppression that I put on Abdullah now let me give you the real-life scenario every single person you meet every single day that does not believe la ilaha ilallah has this disease they have a very similar disease just like this every single person and most of them the majority of them 99% of them don't even know they have it you know but they don't know it shows very little outward symptoms except for all of the ills that we see in society but let me tell you something about this disease if they die with this disease in their hearts the prophet alayhi salaatu wa salaam listen to me the prophet alayhi salatu was-salam said if they die with this disease they will die the most painful the most horrible the most despicable death of any human being whatsoever he said that the souls of the disbelievers are ripped out and that ripping is like a thorn by branch of thorns being stuck into a ball of wool and then being extracted tearing all of the tendons and sinews and everything else and he said that that death lays that out to a sedan would be so painful that when they are resurrected on the day of judgment you will still see the pain of it on their faces yes or no and not only that but they will stand in front of Allah so if you head over to and on the day of judgement with no excuse with no reason for their disease and if Allah so fits he will throw them into the Hellfire forever and they will be burned again and again and again and again and you know this do you not know this is what is waiting for them are you unsure of this is there any doubt in your mind that this is what weighs those who do not believe no this is your keen for us as a matter of our feeder for us but yet you meet them every single day with this disease and you have been given the pill to cure it some of you were given this pill by birth as a birthright as a metamer from Allah to you some of us accepted this pill later on in life and cured our own disease with it but we carry this pill around with us every single day and it is easier than swallowing a pill it's the most lightest phrase that one can proclaim off of their tongue la ilaha illa llah that's it there Allah how Allah is the pure the pure pill that will cure the disease it will cure them and you know this but yet you with hope will you walk around seeing them every single day withholding the pill why you have your excuses you don't have time you're not qualified people are stubborn they're not gonna listen they're gonna argue with you I don't care about your excuses I want to ask you right now will you stand in front of Allah on the day of judgement and dare use those excuses when he asks you you worked with so-and-so for 25 years you live next to so-and-so for your entire life and you knew that they has this disease and you said nothing what is your excuse what will you use on that day if your neighbor is presented in front of you on the day of the amma if your friend if your coworker if your associate is presented in front of you on the day of judgment and they complain to a lot about you and say he knew she knew the whole time where I was going where I was heading and they could have helped me and they did not do so do you think that Allah is just going to let you get away with that no we are accountable we're the Ummah that will be questioned and one of the questions that will be asked about us upon which we will not move our feet from the place of our resurrection is the knowledge that Allah gave us and how we used it and let me tell you brothers and sisters as I finish there is no knowledge there is no knowledge that is greater than the knowledge of tawheed there is no information on this entire planet there is more precious that is more powerful there is more useful than the knowledge of tawheed which you possess as the right of being a Muslim and another favor which Allah conferred upon you guiding you to Islam when you do not deserve it it is anima from him upon you so you have an obligation and a right to share that with other people and if you have no concern for them I am no surprised I am NOT surprised that they have no concern for you a pool of cloudy Heather was talking Willie welcome for stuff Phil who in the Raheem it's been my honor and pleasure to be with you I hope that you take all of the words and all of the information that you've heard over the past two days and you put it into practice because if not you have wasted your time and you have wasted our time and I'm telling you right now as a speaker I know that we are not in the business of wasting time because it is very valuable so please put this into practice in an honor to all of the effort that have been put together for this event I want to thank the organizers of this event of journey of faith and me I lost you panel what Allah bless those brothers and bless those sisters and continue to honor and increase them I want to thank all of the volunteers because I as been having having been doing this for 11 years non-stop I know that the real reason these events happen is because of the volunteers now in Sheikh Saeed the volunteers make this happen they are the ones who are behind the scenes asking for no thanks asking for no recompense asking for no payment but we give them the payment through the dua to allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala that he rewards them for every minute that they spend helping this event and we thank all of the speakers who came and traveled from far and wide me a lost sheep Anna with a bless you and your families and keep them in safety in your absence assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi [Music] [Music]
