please welcome the close of magic of our world champion magician you know my name is Johnny Ace Palmer and I am very happy to be here to show you some close-up sleight of hand magic in honor of your holiday party before I officially start the magic I knew is performed by sleight of hand and illusion everything is anything I do today can be done by a four-year-old child with 20 years of practice and that reason I invite you to watch closely something may appear right in front of your eyes like a cane or flowers or it just might disappear you never know please watch very closely now will officially start the joke my first feat of magic is called the open air ooh that's a pretty good name for the first track the opener if you watch you can see the opener if you listen you can hear it do you hear that that's my opener it is an open air five six speaking of classics I will now pull a real live bunny rabbit out of the Hat would you like to see that about the rest of you okay I can't do this alone I wonder if there's anyone under the age of 15 here today that might like to come up and help me would you like to come up don't have to do you like to come up you're 15 aren't you for my to volunteer my name is Johnny what's your name Isaac and what's yours okay okay when you started my left side please this is Kate everybody this is Isaac everybody Nate and Isaac this is everybody and now with the help of my new friends I will pull a real live bunny rabbit out of a very flat hat a spin a wave and a snap and she's in there now the hard part she's gone Thank You Hans thank you both of you thank you you know it takes a good magician to make a rabbit appear in a hat but to make it appear and then disappear that's all now I'll do it again but this time I'll show you the bunny that's from a movie show me the bunny we the buddy it's empty right empty right well each of you please wave your hand over the hat and snap go ahead how about if you both wave at the same time and we'll let him snap and see if it'll work then go ahead ready it weren't look look right here look look it's just a little hair you know I like the tortoise in there let's look under the table do you stay in the half good girl now it's time for an illusion with the colors of the rainbow six magic scarves the colors of the rainbow red orange yellow green blue and purple para mis amigos Latinos that means for my friends who speak Spanish and my friends that had a Spanish class like I did seis Banuelos los colores dub Arco Eddie's Rojo thank you thank you for that applaud it's a good Rojo naranja I'm a Rio Verde Azul and purple I missed that day in class six magic scarves two magic hands and a little magic breath in all six scarves become one thank you very much that's a trick from the sixties now it's time to make the show a little more interesting this is where I invite two people that have not helped me already come up and help me with the trick to see some magic up close perhaps a person from this table and a person from this table would would you please send someone out there trying to trick me that's a scary category right there I don't get tricked very often but I do once in a while my wife's the best it all right I have three magic scarves a blue and a red one in yellow and they're the primary colors red blue and yellow my name is Johnny ace Palmer what's your name hi Nick nice to meet you thank you for coming up what's your name Roxy Thank You Roxy Roxy and Nick you know each other right three magic scarves blue and red one and yellow and the primary colors I'll tie a magic not in the blue scarf I call it a magic not because when I blow on it they're not disappear but not Rock should we blow on the knock please see she's magic Nick we please hold the blue scarf thank you here's the yellow and I'll get a pretend invisible string from my pocket and I'll wrap it around the yellow scarf a pretend invisible string uh-oh you're supposed to say why when I say uh-oh you say what okay oh I forgot my pretend invisible strings does anybody have a pretend invisible string I can talk to you do you we toss it up here it's a good one let's see if it works it's a trick is it okay if I keep this invisible string thank you very much Rock to you please follow the yellow scarf thank you here's the red one try to watch the red one the reason I said try is because it will disappear right in front of your eyes keep in mind I pushed up my sleeves that's so you don't think I'm doing anything tricky even though I have one eye on this hand the reason I invited these two handsome and lovely individuals up here is not just to make my act look better and I think it does but it's also so that they can see the red scarf up close from the side and perhaps even from behind so people and I on this hand when I on the red silk scarf keep one eye on this hand too if you don't have three eyes I'll go slow you can see the red scarf right now you can see it until the last second but then it's too late the red scarf has magically disappeared I'll show you where it is it's in the blue one believe it or not inside the blue one I'll place the yellow one into the blue one see it going down in there going down in there now the yellow scarf is gone of course we know where it is since the red one came out of the blue one day I please have the red one thank you I'll reach right down inside of the red one right in the middle right in here now pull out the other oops I missed will you reach in their neck and take out the yellow one please I have an after brunch trick to show you featuring dental floss dental floss comes in a container on a roll sometimes when you get to the end of a roll there's a small piece left and it's difficult to floss your teeth with a piece that's small I would suggest saving that piece and then when you get to the end of another roll and there's a small piece left throw it away throw it throw it throw it save it in fact every time you get to the end of a roll and there's a small piece left providing it's too small you see where I'm going with this don't you Johnny every time you get to the end of a roll and there's a small piece say but when you get enough bring them to me because I do magic that I have found if you take white pieces of dental floss and squeeze them together they stick see how they stick if you roll in between your fingers they do what I call the playdough principle that's the floor show everybody they do what I call the playdough principle they bond themselves to themselves you know like playdough one time a guy overheard me saying that he asked me is that play-doh the clay or Plato the philosopher I always remember that if you fold it over a roller you get a little skinny white bond if you place it next to one piece and squeeze them together sometimes they to stick if you blow on it and pull then no magic it comes out to one piece and you can floss your teeth with these oh she got her straight back see when you play a country-western music box record backwards you get your dog back you get your truck back and you get your string back all right now it's time for a very old trick this trick is so old now that you all know what to ask this trick is so old funny you sure that it's so old when this trick was invented the Ten Commandments were the ten suggestions that's all it's a trick with dinosaur dental floss looks like it doesn't it it's actually a long strong piece of rope but it reminds me of a dinosaur joke are you up for a dinosaur Joe yeah why can't T Rexes clap their hands together why because they're extinct come on when I tie the ends together blow on the ends of the ends come off I'll save you for later in case I need them it looks like I need them feeling a little loopy today it's not something you don't see every day and then what's wrong I'll put the ends back on that's something we see every day there's how I put the ends back on just like that now I'll show you my favorite rope trick it's called the cut and restored rope trick in the magic industry in the City of Industry even incra knotted Hills we call this part we call this see an arm for cut and restored that's a good enough reason for me I forgot my pretend scissors don't throw up do you have pretend scissors Kurt don't throw there you go like this just cut the rope right there on the count of three actually really nice that's probably the most magical it's ever been because she can't right there now we have two ropes exactly the same size only this one's a little shorter than this one so I'll start over with a long strong piece of rope and I'll show you how the ends can travel the ends can travel from here to here that's the first one that's the second one now we're back to the beginning with the longest strong piece of rope which is the trough isn't quite as long but it's just as strong and I can tie a knot in this rope with one hand faster than you can say not quite as long it's not quite long but it's just as strong and it disappears when I squeeze it when I squeeze it like that doesn't really disappear it goes behind my knee that's my trick knee the magician I have a trick knee it's actually an old football injury I I fell off the bench has the long rope you have the long one we toss it up to me just toss it right up here let's throw it on the count of three ready one [Laughter] my phone I need to learn to count faster 3 1 2 3 I think I'll still just come over and get that piece of three different ropes that have been examined by fine members of the audience I placed the ends together like this I wave my hand clockwise like that I realize it's counterclockwise to most of you but it's clockwise to me that's a perception issue please wave your hand the same direction I'm waving mine that's a trick director please snap please notice all three examined ropes are now exactly the same size that's one that's two three [Music] does he do it or as my wife says why let's wave our hands off is it direction if you waved it this way wave it that way if you waiter that way let me go please snap backwards please notice the small one the medium one and of course I [Applause] want to show you something with the long rope how many of you know how to tie a square knot you know how to tie square knot right how many of you know when you raise your hand if you know how to tie a square knot how many of you don't know by the times per night how many of you don't know how to square raise your hand okay how many of you will not raise your hand no matter what here's how you tie a square knot first it's right over left and then it's left over right and that's a square knot see it that's a square knot right you know how you can tell you're supposed to say how by looking at it I [Laughter] am blessed with two beautiful daughters and the trick I'm about to show you makes them laugh that's my favorite sound in life I hope you enjoyed this trick as much as they do it uses 1/2 three little round red spongy boss that's the drama part of the trip and I call this the illusion of the three little round red spongy balls I named it myself that's the creative part of the trick now step into my office now I present ladies and gentlemen I present the illusion of the three little round red spongy balls it goes something like this actually it goes exactly like here's one and here's two I'll put this one in my pocket that's a little fast I'll start again there's one and here's two I'll put this one in my that's the same speed as in this stage off boom do you know what they can do is do you know what they Shifu is I just sit it's too fast it doesn't give you enough time to think there's other jokes like that that you don't really have to answer but I'll give you an example if you like knock-knock control freak now you say control freak oh that's the joke see ya I go you say control freak I'm the one more example and then we'll move on okay it's not good to drop names do you never told me that let's wait let's start again here's one instant replay here's two I'll put this one in my pocket that was slow motion Oh I'll tell you what I'll put this one in this pocket and I'll put this one in my back wait I'll put this one in this look at this move this is a really cool watch look at it doesn't it look real oh look what's on my shoe [Laughter] [Applause] [Music] [Laughter] [Applause] [Music] that's what I'm gonna do but not before I show you my best trick involves three metal cups three metal cups three yellow balls and three lovely ladies from the audience huh did you say you watched a video of mine yes yes I would like to invite three lovely ladies here today to see this trick up close and to help me that have not seen any videos of me when I was on the David Letterman Show or the did Clark Show or Magic Castle specials or magic masters of illusion or any of those because I did this trick on all those shows and/or that hasn't heard about this trick and ideally someone that have never seen the cups and balls trick so if three are there three ladies here today that [Music] [Applause] how about some encouragement for these three lovely ladies looking a whole lot better right thank you all three of you for joining me may I have one of you on my right side please why I met Lisa when we when we first got here and I met Denise and what's your name Cathy it's nice to meet you so with the K received the ceiling with a wire and I need a why Cathy with the why thank you Cathy Denise and Lisa thank you for joining me well each of you please pick up a cup and look inside I love what you did with the with the string no one's ever done that before she's so creative looking inside of the cup please feel inside of the cup please tap the bottom of the cup please show everyone the cup is empty then please pick up the yellow ball please hold it in the air like this and show everyone it is what it appears to be a pom pom made out of yarn please put the cup on the table and then set the ball in front of the cup thank you for your help please watch my fingers I'll warm up my hands this is how I warm up my fingers if you'd like to try it just put your hands like this and Bend one finger two time and then open them one at a time and then speed it up it's a good way to warm up your fingers I also use a market while I used to use a marker I was fortunate enough to recently as an April 22nd be voted the best parlor magician of the year and that makes me the curl of the current I'd like to buy a vowel a parlor magician of the Year at the Magic Castle the academy magical arts voted me the best part of magician that gave me this magic wand is part of the prize it's really special it's made out of rosewood and it has African evany and a real silver band and I think the artist is from India Annapolis what are you lovely young ladies please turn the cups upside down and then please put a ball on top of each Cup thank you please lift the cup like this and look inside and set it down thanks for all your help now please watch closely watch the magic wand and this yellow ball this yellow ball will disappear with the help of the magic wand just to spin and attack and it's gone this ball disappears just as fast see the last one no spin no tapped us a wave gone we rip the cups and notice the balls are back under the cups in the magic industry we call that part of the trick interesting sleight of hand magic we call it that because it's interesting and it's sleight of hand magic now it's time for the amazing part in the southern states they call this the amazing part with the cup of first look inside of the cup determine since we're at the Odyssey let's double check please lift the cup and set it down one ball under the cup he did such a good job here we want to make sure it's just right for the trip let's forget about the magic wand it's just for distraction anyway let's forget about the balls under these two cups it's a father of Matt I mean it's a matter of fact I'll put this fall and this bowl so we only have to think about one this one not this one because I put it in my pocket like this and not this one only those two did I say - I didn't mean to say - Denise do you see - I meant to say three [Applause] there's the best part I put all three balls in my pocket like this they go back to the magic wand if I put them on my pocket again and they go back to the cups but they change into life baby chickens on the count of three please lift the cups one two three [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay here's one and here's two I'll put this one in [Laughter] [Laughter] each and every one of you for being a great audience today and I would like to thank Caroline for calling me up and emailing me and arranging my last illusion is an illusion with magic that I got at the mini mart get ready magic water better known as lighter fluid do not try
