so so joe what are you about in the  eighth grade ah i'm sorry it's all right can i have a pencil so i can get  it yeah sure hey how you doing   i just want to keep score oh no no there'd be  no trouble here tonight how are things going   i think they're going pretty good i love your work  i think you're great i enjoy those films you bring   something you know it's like good good seasoning  and a great meal you always have interesting   little scenes that just kind of run away with the  film it's great you do you do nice work well thank   you yeah it's my turn to compliment you now oh  do you have a compliment sure let's hear it yes   uh i like uh i like the show i missed some of the  things on the old show well keep it to yourself   yes it is the ed sullivan theater i  thought i walked into a meat packing it's a known it's a known fact joe if it's too hot and people are laughing  themselves silly they'll just die   we're doing this for the  safety of the studio audience   well i appreciate it uh what's new in your life  i saw you a couple of uh about a month ago at the   big espn sports award thing i i don't even know  what those are but you and i were both there in   tuxedos and it was nice talking to you backstage  i enjoyed that we chased everybody out of the   dressing room that's where we lighted up seaguars  yeah yeah yeah it's fun being a guy ain't it   now do you are you a sportsman to yourself do you  have uh like tennis you play golf yeah how do you   shoot um i'm shooting around 16 handicap i don't  know what that means is that good well i'm sorry no i it's it's not bad yeah do you think i'm  funny do you think i'm funny i do it do you find   me amusing i know i do i think you're fine what  not what no what about me do you find a music   you're a big boy you said you found me in  music what about me do you think is funny   i think you're i think your face is funny easy just have us hey hey no come on just   take your seat and when the  bell rings go to algebra well again i don't know i bet people do that to you all the time don't  they they're always bothering you about scenes   and movies uh they do a lot of people come you  know especially about goodfellas i get that a   lot oh man what a powerful film that was and boy  what a strange guy you were in that thing man   that just god what a evil kind of hair  triggered nutso guy that was great   do you ever have any kind of like that guy yeah no  no no of course i meant that as a high compliment   for you uh but joe is that a problem for you to  people everything oh there's this big time tv   movie actor i'm going to get a piece of him yeah  i remember one time there was uh i was walking   uh with liza minnelli she was appearing at radio  city music hall and walking towards the backstage   with a couple of security guys and there was some  you know there was some guys with girls there and   everything and the girls were saying hello and  the guys were saying you know the girl said oh   that's joe pesci he goes oh and the guy said oh  what wise guy what a good fella i give him a slap you know in your third year of high  school come back come back are you gone   on the uh program tonight nfl number one draft  pick dan wilkinson from ohio state randy travis   of course will be out a little bit later  and right now we're talking with madonna so how did you come up with that  whole material girl thing madonna uh i'm glad i'm not part of the  active feuds you used to have though   oh yeah yeah did you really call  ted koppel tell me it looked like uh   howdy doody yeah you called dustin hoffman a  weasel yeah no no see dustin hoffman deserved   to be called a weasel and i'll tell you why  he behaved like a weasel because he said he   would come and be on the show and he never came  on the show he said yes i'll be there and we   had a whole day picked out for him it was dustin  hoffman day the the guy's squeezing oh no sir oh thank god this isn't being televised god so about my golf game yeah but no let  me just finish up on dustin hoffman   but he's still active no and i said no no no  no we buried the hatchet on that and i think   it was as often happens in show business just  a misunderstanding exactly and uh we would love   to have him on i don't think he's a weasel  anymore oh yeah so this golf game of mine   who do you play golf with well i play  golf with jack nicholson and oh man wow now did you talk to him after the big freeway  9-iron deal yes i did what was that what did he   have to say about that well you know the guy  cut him off and practically ran him off the   road and just happen to stop in front of him at  a light right sometimes you get upset you know   but see that's i think that he didn't he didn't  hit the guy that's a common reaction a common   emotion and many people think about doing that but  you you know you can't do that you can't just be   you know you can't no you know it's not a movie  it's not a movie so you you and jack nicholson   who else dennis harper plays oh my gosh this  is like maniacs loose at the country club and de niro does he play golf with you guys no  bob doesn't play golf as a matter of fact it's   very funny bob and i had an apartment together  years ago and uh i used to keep my golf clubs in   the hall and i would hear him he'd come in and i'd  hear him giggling you know and i said bob said you   bob is that you so i go in the hall what's the  matter he said your golf clubs are over by the   door over there so what's funny about  that i i can't picture you playing golf   well you know he's got something it's a very difficult game though isn't it oh it  is but people who love the game just they it's   in their blood for some reason it's in my blood  yeah uh what was this uh i don't know if this   happened recently uh a dinner that you attended uh  yourself yeah uh maybe de niro was there right um   marlon brando oh yeah yeah there was and who else  it was michael jackson what is the gathering here   what is the commonality there well the thing was  that uh michael had mentioned you know that he was   good friends with marlon brando and i was working  with michael at the time and he said something   about having dinner and i told bob and even though  bob worked with him we you know he never met him   i never met him i wanted to meet him and uh frank  deleo was uh uh uh michael's agent at the time so   the four of us had dinner together it was uh fun  i guess was it fun or was it just bizarre it was   it was it was a little strange no it was fun we it  started off very nice this was in someone's home   was that michael's home and we were all having  dinner and drinking and i'll tell you something   funny that because i know frank deleon must have  said this story uh marlon had his girlfriend or   his wife with him i don't know which was it  i don't know i don't know don't pressure me don't get me started don't aggravate me   so we were having dinner and drinking and this  woman or girl would get up to go to the ladies   room she was the only girl there and marla  would stand up and i got up bob got up michael   everybody stood up and she'd go we sit down again  she'd come back marlon would stand up i stood up   sat down again and she did it again  and he stood up iced it up and we're   drinking wine and drinking wine she comes  back we're eating and drinking drinking   and all of a sudden i'm saying to myself i hope  she doesn't get up again not in the mood for this she got up again marlon stood up and i went  like this and i went i won't screw this i said   and marlon said screw this broke the ice what what  do you what were you guys talking about what was   there to chat about at dinner talking about  old films and everything and marlon was very   complimentary and a real gentleman really sweet it  was nice well that's good it's you know it's great   fun to have here i i think you're great you're  a lot of fun you're a fun guy you're funny too   oh yeah you think i'm funny you find  me amusing nice to see you joe pesci
