Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
But... The de-aging techniques will likely be very different from those employed for Goodfellas (27 years ago), and will likely involve CGI. I mean, Pesci is 74 years old now. Anyway, this is a confusing post. Did I miss something?
Wait did Greg Kenear have a talk show?
I am stoked to see Pesci doing movies again!!
Fun fact, The real life man Joe Pesci played in Goodfellas was 6'2, more unhinged than shown in the film, and was apparently whacked personally by John Gotti over the unsanctioned killing of Billy Batts.
I was so into this idea until I read about the de-aging shit. I don't really feel like watching 70 year old men play 30-40 year olds on screen. It's just so gimmicky and goofy and the type of shit I would think guys such as Pesci, De Niro, etc would laugh at rather than do.
Uncanny Valley Syndrome: The Movie!
You got to figure this is going to be de-aging along the lines of Kurt Russell in GOTG 2, Michael Douglas in that Avengers movie (?) Jeff Bridges in Tron, Patrick Stewart in X Men, etc.
I don't know if I could watch an entire movie where the actors are so heavily CGI'd. But I don't know enough about The Irishman to figure if this is for flashback scenes or for the whole movie.
If it's for the whole movie, then geez man, just hire younger actors.
So Steve Colbert basically copied Greg Kinnear. I noticed alot of Colbertisms in there.
Prefer to watch a movie about old mobsters, this ageing is gone be a tough sale for me.
