of us were how messy we were our god almighty the success i was sinking so deep i got so deep insane far from the peaceful shore almighty god what is love our god almighty wonder our god when the blood fell mighty goddess love grew even the more it was for our sins this morning can we out of our grateful hearts now begin to give him praise our god for his gratefulness for his lover for the tone district of churches and also the lead pastor for that congregation he is a policeman by profession he is married to a beautiful hot body lady ah god almighty the union has produced two lovely children i will not put myself in there [Laughter] praise god he is he is is known to be a dynamic evangelist preaching in almost every parish of this nation he has also gotten the opportunity to preach in several countries overseas praise god is also um a servant or a a student of the bethel bible college where he's um pursue where he has pursued his is um his ministry training he amen somebody praise god he has also you have heard him on the radio you have heard him uncable all over he's just is just a phenomenon servant of the most high god and so so after immediately after the exists over the years and will continue for as long as ever somebody praise god the family would have desired to be here but sister hepburn has other responsibilities at church amen and so i will preach to you god will give me the strength to join them later amen in the closing night of our evangelistic meetings amen somebody praise almighty god are you happy to be here this morning are you happy to be here this morning are you ready for a word from almighty god this morning hallelujah praise god amen when i look at the picture that you have on the poster that's me for real because when i look at how i am dressing that's me for real so you realize it's not somebody else on the poster and another person because the same person on the poster amen it's the same suit seems like they took it this morning [Applause] the only thing is absent is because i am getting older now so i'm wearing glasses pray for me pray for me from the book of psalms 18 praise god psalm chapter 18 and i'll read verses 16 through to 19. he sent from above he took me he drew me out of many waters he delivered me from my strong enemy and from them which hated me for they were too strong for me they prevented me in the day of my calamity but the lord was my stay verse 19 he brought me forth also into a large place he delivered me because he delighted in me somebody praised god somebody worshipped the name of the lord my brothers and sisters rescued by god somebody shout hallelujah rescued by god my brothers and sisters this psalm it's a long song it's a long chapter amen you agree with me it has 50 verses and if you give me the entire duration of today i could preach the 50 verses down and back up if you stay here with me until four o'clock until four amen just a little bit of humor this is a long psalm there are only three psalms longer in the entire collection amen psalm 78 psalm 89 and psalm 119 its length is well suited for fitting with its theme as described in the title the title itself is long with only one lunger in the psalm and that is psalm 60 the theme that is written above this psalm says to the chief musician a psalm of david the servant of the lord who spoke to the lord the words of this son on the day that the lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of saul my god what a lengthy theme if should i if i should have traveled here today and give you a theme that love my god you'd have asked me pastor when and how will you break it down and present it to us so we can get the whole essence of what you're saying in the title david tells us whom the psalm was written for god himself who is the chief musician he tells us more he tells us more about himself that we should consider him the servant of the lord he tells us the occasion for the writing of the psalm possibly not only the immediate aftermath of saul's death as described in 1st samuel 31 2nd samuel 1 but also of the period leading uh to lead today leading to david's enthronement in 2nd samuel chapter 2 to 5. he tells us also something about saul who ought out of great and undeserved kindness on david's part is not explicitly counted among the enemies of david from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of saul somewhere in the theme mentioned that this psalm my brothers and sisters is virtually the same as the psalms sung by david at the very end of his life as recorded in 2nd samuel 22. it is likely that david composed this song as a young man yet in his old age david could look back with great gratitude and sing the sad song again looking at his whole life this continues david's praise for god's rescuing during hard times oh hallelujah i said this psalm continues with david's praise to almighty god for him who rescued he david during his hard time second samuel 22 1 as surely as the lord drew moses out of the waters of the nile according to exodus 2 10 so the lord drew david out of many waters somebody praise almighty god can i re repeat that for emphasis as surely as the lord drew moses out of the waters of the nile according to second according to exodus 2 10 so the lord drew david out of many waters david was surrounded by his enemies and felt as doomed as a droning man but the lord pulled him to safety earlier in this passage psalm 1846 david compared his hardships to torrents of destruction and death in those moments he cried out for help and god answered his prayer somebody praised god i say those moments when there were hardships our god torrents of destruction and death david cried out to the lord and god did rescued him my brothers and sisters i will seek to further explore as i go through our deliberations this morning now david testifies to the fact that god delivered him from many waters let the church say many waters this continues the theme implied by the word delivered translated from a hebrew term which implies rescue so when you hear about how the lord delivered david from from deep waters from many waters it implies in the hebrew that god did rescued him somebody showed hallelujah based upon the length of the psalm i have analyzed about ten possible divisions of the chapter wow there are some chapters you know that can be that have three divisions four divisions five divisions but when you look at the length of this chapter and the things that are mentioned and how they are outlined i couldn't help but divide it into into ten possibly divisions let's look at them one verses one two three we see god's oh god past uh god's past deliverance for david so verse one two three tells of god's past deliver us for our deliverance for david in verses 4 to 6 the dangers that allowed david to cry out to the lord in verses 7 to 15 we see the majestic deliverance god brought to david in verses 6 to 19 we see how david was set in safety somebody says safety in verses 20 to 24 we see how god delivers david because of his righteousness god will deliver you because of your righteousness in verses 25 to 27 we see an abiding principle of god dealing with man in verses 28 to 30 we see how god gives his light and word to empower david in verses 31 to 36 we see how god gives david strength and skill in verses 37 to 42 also we see how god gives david's victory over his enemies and in verses 43 to 50 we see that how god established david's throne and delights in him wow my brothers and sisters lengthy division the word the world english dictionary defines rescue in this way it says it is to bring someone or something out of danger somebody praise god uh i feel something coming on from somewhere hallelujah the water literally as for david it was figuratively somebody praised god he said his enemies were strong i don't know about you in beauty hall but back in manchester back in clarendon there are some enemies there are some strongholds there are some territorial demons there are some devils there are some serpents there are some enemies there no weak weak they're not normal they are strong somebody praise god i said they are strong and they are not looking for the weak christians they are looking for the bloodbath [Music] they are looking for the rapture ready people somebody showed hallelujah i said the enemies they are strong and they hear david take your time with me i said david says my enemies they are strong and they hate me if your enemy is strong and doesn't hate you you are keeping company with the devil [Music] you know i can't preaching jacket so for those who can god bless you somebody praise god i can't preach and jack it like your pastor somebody praise god [Applause] david says my name enemies they are strong and they hear me look at your neighbors and neighbor i believe that right now because you're serving god you have just made the devil's headless [Music] somebody get ready to preach with me down here i said give me a fact that you are serving god you have just made the devil's hit list he's coming at you coming at your marriage coming at your ministry coming at your children coming at your community something getting warm in here today somebody showed hallelujah i am not the coward i am not timid i am not afraid because i am on the devil's headless [Music] [Applause] [Music] if i am on the devil's headlist that is saying to me more fasting more prayer meeting more preaching more meditation lord god more times of solitude more time i have to spend with god because i am a target for the devil i are god spoke your neighbors and neighbor i don't know about you but i am a target for the devil not because my lord god not the cosmic dress god the lord god almighty not because may drive a good vehicle not because i have a good wife but because i am serving god i want to tell that old brute i want to kill that old serpent try what you want do what you want i will be rescued [Music] by god leave your hand and say rescued by rescued already rescued before and i will be rescued again god almighty somebody let me lose here i don't come here to entertain you i come here to engage you somebody help me here somebody shout lord god the babylon had gone no somebody held me in this house somebody harder and longer so don't push me too much church his enemies were strong and they hated him had he been left to himself they would have been too strong for him jesus christ they were too quick for him for they prevented him in the day of his calamity but in the midst of his troubles the lord was his stay so that he did not sink it's an anointing in this holy cathedral i might as well tell you from now if i don't get to finish this sermon don't kill me because i feel a holy ghost anointing somebody showed something in here somebody showed something in here oh god i say if it was left up to the devil mama your sink [Music] conditions thank you condition plunge you wear down be an existence be on survival but god rescued you jesus christ am i talking to bounty hunt god rescued bounty hall if it was left up to the woodlands and the criminals the gunners the choppers and the scammers lord god bounty hall would have been plunged not cut into a time of no existence but god rescues some of you sit down through nice you know man god rescue us you know man because the devil [Music] set up the problem set up for a crime record bullet-riddled community but god stepped in god showed up i don't know if god has ever showed up for you but god showed up for me god showed up about the heart and you can't be those touched and quiet with your prayers when god would have showed up [Music] somebody show the praise here david felt that he was drowning when the strong hand of god picked him out of deep waters like a man caught up in a flood david knew that his enemies were too strong for him but that god could deliver him i am quite cognizant that we are not up against some baby creech or kindergarten devils jesus christ i feel like something's gone boss in here today we are not up against some soft soup lord god almighty touch with our finger and the drop box we're up against some elements mcgann deep knowing the gandhi believe some people you better come find me find me in the spirit find me in the spirit find me in the holy ghost somebody find me somebody who knew how to trap you somebody would want to find me in the spirit we are not up against lord god some rock darling you down we crush you we're trampling retrembling our god behold i give you power to tread upon serpents scorpions devils demons assignment somebody trample if your heel is too high pick it up trump we invest in houses we invest in vehicles we invest in our children we invest in ourselves and all of these are temporal all of these only last for a while what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul and so investing in a soul is a heavenly investment that you cannot lose of i pledge ten thousand dollars for this revival and i wish i can find another 50 persons who will stand with me with that ten thousand dollars and if not then you can find five or you can find two don't go below a one do not go beyond below one thousand dollars if you have that seed today
