Jennifer Aniston Talks ‘Friends’ and Her Long Relationship with Ellen

hi yeah they they you were trying to get away trying to do a bit and then they opened the door and then I was going to run out and you know do a whole dance up and down darn it well this is a surprise hi sweetheart what kind of a day are you having it's a great day and it was and now it's starting to be a whole new day it's a whole new day yes yes it's very exciting oh my God Michelle Obama yeah Michelle Obama was here I mean you know I talked about being on the show 15 years now you were my first guest you gave us that Welcome Matt do you do you remember the first time we ever met yes I do I was at your birthday party I was at your 30 okay let me do this math I was I think you were 36 37 I don't know no 38 anyway I was at your birthday party um and I went with Kathy n Jimmy and uh I remember being absolutely in awe of you because I had already seen your HBO special The hello God all of that where you went behind and you spoke through the an the animals on the wall remember yeah I remember and it was you were like my I I was like I idolized you I'd never seen humor like that I had never I mean I laughed so hard it like got me and it always does still to this day you get me in a part of my my you hit my funny button like nobody else and my heart my God the C the tears that have been happening back there yeah it was pretty a lot of lot of good things happening that was a sweet tape you are extraordinarily beloved well I'm very grateful I'm very grateful for that um we I don't remember I asked you that because I was hoping you'd remind me how we met cuz I don't know how I know you were at that birthday party you then also crashed my 27th birthday you came to oh so then you came to my birthday with Kathy at it was at the Buffalo Club I remember that and you crashed I wasn't invited no and I remember feeling it terrible because I had just been to your birthday party and then you were at my birthday party and I went oops Yeah and I and you made it very clear that you're crashing it was very adorable and but then that's why we became friends then we became friends then I was Mak then I was invited to everything everything cuz we had we had uh friends in common yes we did well we had Kathy and it was oh my gosh it was the '90s it was like the Indigo Girls it was you know Melissa ethd Katie Lang Katie Lang um remember my best friend Dre was with me always and I do think there was a moment where people might have not known if I was possibly on your team or not yeah um I think I think a lot of people just had crushes on you and so that they were hoping that's I think that's what it was cuz I think a lot of girls had crushes on you they did yeah they don't how do you guys ever know how do you know yeah how do us guys know well yeah well I mean what are the what are the clues what's the like you could well they don't like make it obvious like that they don't that well that's my that would be creepy that you're just like looking somebody up and down going hey Jennifer how are you doing know how it works no it's just like you know I don't know flirty or something but I think yeah I think girls had crushes on you well that's so sweet yeah well okay um so um there's a picture somebody said they have of us I guess it's sort of early oh it's just you early on there there you are a do you remember that 19 that's '90s it's 91 90 remember look at New York City really yes you came to the premiere see how close we were yes we were close I just want I want to show how far back we go as friends and how close we are because ree Witherspoon was here recently and she she is constantly first of all she's saying that she's best friends with Oprah and Oprah and I everyone knows neighbors we're closer yes we're much closer and uh and then ree is now saying that she and and you I know you're doing a show with her and that's fine but um I mean you work I want you to work well I have to yes but um but we're closer than you and Reese I mean I want to show pictures just evidence because there's pictures of us that's look at you shaking her and that's not that's not close friends that's amazing no and then that's kind of like staged it looks like you're both look at that that's not at all look at us look that's the first day that's the first show the first show oh we are you literally baked me a cake yep I didn't bake that and then say you did we're just con see I see I think we're slow dancing there I don't know what's happening wow yeah we're always hugging we are really good at hugging yeah that's the body language you can read it and we're best friends I see you're saying I see your point carer all right just making sure there's the handshake so what are you're returning to TV with with Reese doing this is a great idea by the way tell everybody what you're doing it's it's it's um well it doesn't really have a title yet but it sort of takes place behind the scenes of the New York media world and you know the morning talk shows and and all of that fun sort of ripe at the moment it's a it's a great idea to have behind the scenes of a Morning Show because there's a lot of different people and the competition and everything that goes on behind those scenes which has been quite enlightening yes now and how many episodes will you do we uh we were bought for two seasons so 20 oh fantastic yeah and on on uh the new Apple network oh that's fantastic has been even this is we are there sort of launching oh that's great well then that's going to get them a lot more people so um yeah um that's the clap from the song that's the clap from the song yeah what song what song from the friend seone oh you still do that clap wow You'll edit this right no Mary are you are you going to um hey how come you y'all should do a Friends reunion I know people keep asking that look at that why are you a no they're saying a cuz that's all of you a look at y'all oh yes is it even a possibility is it even in the realm of of possibility anything is a possibility Ellen okay anything yes right yes okay I mean George Clooney got married she goes I mean George Clooney got married married like that's your that's like anything can happen anything can happen I think it's wonderful so do you want to talk about you were on stage with uh with the icon with Carol Bernett gold Globes gosh yes yeah my idol that was such a moment bucket list moment I I mean my gosh how adorable and funny I auditioned for her back in the 90s when I looked like that little girl for what she was doing a variety show um that well it was yeah it was but it never actually happened so I I guess I shouldn't be offended that I didn't get on it um but I reminded her of that and she remembered she said um but yeah so that was amazing had you met her before you I met her at that audition and then I saw her one at one other thing for uh Bill Clinton President Clinton so that was um another I think it was Hill something for Hill what no that's just you pulling her I got to like pay more attention to what's going on yeah well whenever they make a noise something's happening yeah yeah nope this is not God it's not the one I'm not going to do that not on my birthday I'm not going to do it so nice nice you're going to work with another Idol you're going to do something with Dolly paron yes well actually she's she's actually doing the music it's a movie called dumplin um and she it's it's a beautiful young sort of Coming of Age movie so we had a dinner at my house with her a couple weeks ago I like a five hour dinner that was incredible she's saying she's saying 9 to5 on her nails which I didn't know was a thing that yeah she she did it she wrote it on her nails she wrote it on her nails yeah and then um then came time we were talking with our music Supervisor was there and they were talking about you know who what what the music would be and the arrangements and when and where and how and I said I would love to be on one of those tracks however you say it and Dolly was like oh yeah okay darling um and then uh and that kind of we I was sort of kidding then literally last week we we got this email from Sony that was the schedule for the recordings and there's Jen and Dolly 12 to 1:30 on Tuesday and I was like this has got to be a joke I'm not singing with Bon on an album that's going to be heard by hopefully millions of people you know what I mean so I'm still up in the air whether or not I should do it well you can sing I'm not like not like dolling they can fix it I don't know if I'm doing it but I you you will do it you think I'm going to do it well she's yes you can't turn her down should I do it you can do it love it we're back with my best friend Jennifer Aniston no we really are best friends we are I mean we're pretty close friends we are we used to live right next door to each other twice we lived uh very close to each other yes one one minute drive and I think we remember we come over and then we moved then you mve then you moved we both moved um you know your presence is is uh is present enough but I'm wondering if you got me anything at all well just seems like people are bringing me things I know I've seen it thanks Porsche God now you have like gorillas in Rwanda yeah no I can't do that but listen so I thought what do you get the woman who has everything and my God you know I love your homes I love her homes I try to create them I try to recreate them I try to get I just can never do it and she very very you know let's say protective of her information about her homes which she should be cuz no no one can make a home like like they can so anyway home so I have a good home have a great home thank you it is great um so okay this is this was inspired by a a friend of mine who her doorbell is her little girl's voice that says dingdong Mama someone's at the door and it's adorable it's really it is so anyway so what I got you was okay so this has already been installed in your home and there's also one that's here for the studio so now this is what you guys will get every time you someone comes to your doorbell okay so ding dong it's Jen someone's at the door oh that's sweet so ding dong it's Jen someone's at the door so I thought that would be really nice for you to have me in your house all the time oh no it's great I I mean I look it's it's it's I'm not saying it's not great you thought it was a little creepy it's I'm an adult though I'm not a little no I know it's just that the dogs are going to go crazy every single time they hear you know I see I got you how did you I did it how I you fell it damn it damn it I felt it I wasn't going to do it but you were so scared the whole time I decided to do it I wasn't going to do it oh man I know I'm sorry hey that's like you no one can surprise you no one scares you hey anyone no one yeah was that all right thank you so much for my doorbell are we done with Jen do we send her away I know that you're ever done with me I'm never done with you but uh we'll be right back
