Jeff Goldblum Goes Sneaker Shopping With Complex

[Music] hey my name is Jeff Goldblum guess where I am you complex watchers I'm at my favorite shows sneaker shopping I'm gonna do some sneaker shopping [Music] what's up party bodies show from complex we're in New York City up Stadium Goods with Hollywood legend and style icon Jeff Goldblum gonna do some sneaker shopping today gonna see what he's feeling what he's not and then hopefully it's gonna buy some sneakers I'm so excited I'm so excited Jill the great hey is anybody Continental yet look at that cleft in your chin yeah the you tonight yes they're all really all the time Cary Grant you know an actor named Cary Grant you're one person does he was at all anyway he was from the Ming Dynasty he had that same strong cleft strong very strong let's go let's go let's go [Music] Jeff let's start early beginnings 1965 a kid in Pittsburgh your first pair Pro Keds you did everything in them pro kids yeah kids I think we had a shoe closet this is how they were you know nobody even laid out nobody had anything like that we had a shoe closet as I remember and just a box with everybody's shoes thrown in and we had kids that's right yeah I did everything that was it first shoes for dance class that's right as I said in that episode is their first time first episode of the world according Jeff go come on who's any place that's right and there's many episodes upcoming including what we're just talking about the one on jewelry where we were visiting giant Dan yeah yeah you talked off-camera about sporty LA and how you were kind of product obsessed even from a young age what was it going into sporty LA it's kind of like organized chaos there I haven't defined it this before I came upon Andrew terror and any kind of stylistic help just on my own and I wasn't it wasn't strategic I came upon it's not far from where I've lived for 30 years I came upon that place I'm in and what's this who are you guys but they were very nice to me and I went wow I'm what shoe should I get what do you know in Sanford Center and then we'd haunt it over the years and wake up dreaming about I know what my new shoe should be etcetera etcetera but made a lot of mistakes and you know and they're still very nice they still have we haven't talked about this they still have the biggest best collection of laces shoe laces okay cuz I'm kind of I've been shoes what's these out rekey oh I probably did switch windows out and what's done the eyes yeah I'll tell you you know what lace this is that I just remembered this is that Balenciaga oh sure he'll us we're gonna talk about those supplies and I like that lace I got you you put in things I gather icky about the length of this yeah we have to ask under $100 there's for Nike classic sneakers we have the Nike Air Force one that's classic the blazer low remember the cortes and the tail which one of these styles would be a personal favorite if you're the ones that look good to me these two I was an Air Force one yeah I may have even had I'm she's up Cortez something like that yeah [Music] we have to talk entertainment marketing for your acting career brands back then I'm not sure if they were sending boxes to sets for sneakers for the actors to wear but there's like a very under-the-radar sneaker from Jurassic Park remember in the world according to Jeff Goldblum you got hip to the mags the Back to the Future yes the person who designed those also designed these have you ever seen these before it was for the people running around in the costumes as I sit here on the stand Your Honor I have never seen these before in my life nope what is this this was supposed to be for people running around as the dinosaurs and did they wear them on the set I don't think they ever made a isn't that interesting but if you knew what you knew now about those you know how much these probably would have been worth forget it well I'm not I'm not an investor or anything not a reseller I'm not a reseller I don't care about that but I'm about to do another Jurassic world yes with the old proof yes you know Laura and Sam Neil and Colin Trevorrow is gonna direct it's gonna be really good and I'm thinking about what I'm gonna wear in it in fact any ideas we'll see yes I can't tell you exactly but I've I shopped and I gotten a couple of things they have a wonderful costume person another movie there was some Adidas The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou yes special adidas makeup and what about that did you Bill Murray's wearing adidas and they had their own adidas Club even in the scene be still Kody he's has these special adidas on that actually came out in 2017 because Wes Anderson now he is a he could be a designer and he is a designer he designs his own look and invents everything visually in his movies and he came up with the certainly on that shoe and the color scheme what was little yellow lue and yellow very particular passion yeah you know blue [Music] Jeff I want to talk about a shoe that people are split down the middle that you were an early adopter the triple-s Balenciaga and people are split I know nothing about some people thought you know a little too big a little too crazy even you said that your wife Emily you brought him back home and at first he was like I don't know about these that's right and then she warmed up to them well Andrew atera my stylist he said here's the shoe cuz I've been I was saying for years I need it's tennis shoe I want what looks good but is interesting to wear and present myself in but that feels good he said here's the shoe here's the shoe and he said it's not out yet and we waited out for about six months or something and then finally we were on a photo shoot and he said guess what arrived today and it came on the set and I put it on it was one of those prototypes very very heavy it was all gray and it was very heaven I put him on I went wow they're great oh boy I felt like Herman Munster and that's like that it was like that but I got him and I wore him and then they kind of fixed him up and I have a black one that I have now and so I have them I'm glad I still have them another sneaker we have to talk about families online doing a deep dive on research have you ever seen these wait a minute is another surprise I like surprises of all kind okay oh yes I have I check the size 9 though sold out really yes yeah you can't keep the Jeff Goldblum merchandise on the shelves the sells like hotcakes I don't like that you've seen I have seen it yeah it's me if you can't see that it meets my face overprinted Jeff Goldblum has different seeing it through a fly's eye they're 50 you know Jeff go-go's realm from there it is whatever you think of that you know don't own a pair though I do not own a parent you you know but if I know what I'm getting with Christmas yeah again we had this conversation I want you to be surprised all right I'm getting you this and the shower curtain okay love it this is the season finale of season 9 of sneakers this congratulations season 9 I haven't missed an episode appreciate it thank you season 9 season finale you once said that there's no such thing as great taste it's your taste you can leave the viewers with one piece of style advice what would it be don't listen anybody see see would you like see what you feel like see who you are there's never been another you we're all like snowflakes and that's where unique King so you know come up with something and you know who knows maybe you'll be a pioneer in some way and show us the way and we'll be so don't copy anybody that's what my acting teacher Sanford Meisner said about your acting don't copy anybody so that would be my advice that would be my advice amazing advice look go ahead and say say something like so life finds away life always finds a way that's one piece of advice that's gonna save you're like my grandson you're my handsome handsome grand thank you are you thank you well Jeff we talked about everything now is the easy part browse the shelves see where you're gonna take home okay let's do it I like to say [Music] thank you so much for helping me make these purchases I have some ideas and you say this is where we might find for my wife Emily a what's that called there off-white presto yeah press those it's not inexpensive but if I get this for her I think she might be very happy for for the upcoming holiday [Applause] I've seen these around third classic sneaker every one shot I should have had those I would love to I would love to have this okay so Yeezys I'm very interested in the easies I want to get actually I want to get a couple for my kids I got a four-year-old you own your kids nerds up don't thank you so much for doing this Jeff what's the damage what am i doing all right yeah it's yes sir your total for today comes to two thousand nine hundred and thirteen dollars and seventeen cents that's not an insubstantial sum but I feel very good about the purchase I think that's gonna be
