you i'm lost without you [Music] do you know that the lord is spirit and that he ministers to your spirit the refreshing comes the presence of god comes the supernatural joy comes into your spirit first amen you know sometimes we can get so caught up in what's going on around us that we forget there's a whole other realm that you can step into you know there's a place [Music] near the equator get this it's called the doldrums never heard of the doldrums how many have ever been in the doldrums they've just been like man i feel like i'm in the doldrum where that word doldrums comes from it's a place near the equator that certain times of the year it's called the tropical convergence zone intertropical convergence zone and a certain time of the year the sailors knew this is from years and years generations ago that there's an area that if you hit at the wrong time of the year there's no wind that will blow in that area and they said be careful of the doldrums because if you get caught in the doldrums you'll be there for months just just going nowhere you know i think about sometimes our life we feel like that you're just caught in the doldrums i mean everybody has ups and downs sometimes we're up and sometimes we're down even jesus was down for three days but he got up [Music] and some of you may have come into this place in your little down you know what gets you out of the doldrums a fresh wind a fresh wind it's called the breath of god the ruach hakodesh the holy spirit [Music] god said when he created adam he breathed [Music] he was just a sack of dirt until god breathed wind into his body and i'm going to tell you the holy spirit is available for you today to get out of the doldrums he's the air we breathe listen he the very next breath you take take a deep breath right now do you know god gave you that breath my dad is in the hospital right now i want to give a shout out to pop i love you we love you come on it's telling you love him and the reason he has he has coveted number one so he's been there a few days but the reason they said he's in he was in a difficult place was because because of his breathing he was having trouble breathing i'm happy to tell you he's doing really really well now he's coming out of it but yesterday i talked to him he said i feel so much better than yesterday i'm doing really good i talked to him this morning at nine o'clock he said i'm doing better than i was yesterday in fact he's in there telling jokes to all the nurses so i think they're going to try to discharge him as fast as possible he said you know paul the worst thing about this right now is i'm just alone but i got to thinking about that when you're like that you get down in the doldrums what do you need you need first you need somebody with you and you need some fresh air so we're singing that i just want to sing that that chorus one more time and just think about the lord say lord get me out of the doldrums breathe let me blow on me again push me back into the place that you have for me set sail you know when you lift your hands you're just setting sail you're setting sail to the holy spirit saying lord breathe on me blow on me i'm hungry for you i'm desperate for you in fact i'm lost without you and i'm desperate for you [Music] i'm lost without you [Music] this is the air i breathe this is the air i breathe come on breathe pastor rachel as she comes right now good morning church family good morning what a wonderful morning it's so amazing to be in the house of the lord with believers amen we'll never take that for granted i want to just thank all those that are joining online we're just so grateful that you're able to be with us this morning we love you and we miss you um i wanted to share that this we are in week three of our 21 day fast and it's been such an honor to be able to join with several other churches in jacksonville with these same dates and we've just been fasting together and praying for our city and we are ending that fast this friday night at jacks united jackson united is going to be here at new life and all these churches are coming together for a worship event we're going to take communion together and we're going to end our fast together and it is such a powerful powerful night i did want to let you know as of this morning that the sanctuary is filled so you cannot get a ticket it's free but we're ticketing it because it's limited seating but it is filled it's sold out but we are opening up some overflow seating so if you'd still like to be here in the building overflow seating will be available we are live streaming the event so if you're not able to get here i want to encourage you especially if you've been fasting with us i want to encourage you to tune in online to the live stream and take that communion with us and in that fast as a body amen it's going to be a great time also next sunday we've got bishop boone with us he is one of my favorites i'm so excited he's going to be with us i believe he's got a lot for us so make sure you're here next sunday for bishop boone i also wanted to just take a minute and just give you an update on the storehouse i have people ask me all the time how's it going and i'm telling you it is going amazing if you don't know what the storehouse is it's a building over there and we receive use clothing use household items use furniture and then we our amazing volunteers sorted and then we put it into what looks like a store but it's not a store it's something that you can come in make an appointment and we freely give it away and so we have served probably hundreds of families we opened mid-november and we've been serving hundreds of families in the last three months and i'm telling you it is working it's going amazing we're seeing this flow of stuff come in we've got volunteers sorting it we're getting it on the floor and it's going out the door the families that come in they're just not walking out with a few things they're walking out with lots of things we have been serving our community community beautifully it's just amazing to watch the needs get met we've got families come in and some of them have nothing in their home and we go over their needs and they're like we i don't have anything i need everything and we go and we try to get them what we can if we have it available to give we give it earlier this week we had someone drop off boxes of diapers like lots of boxes of diapers and thursday i probably had about four pregnant women come in and they all were able to leave with a box of diapers and baby clothes and baby furniture and that awesome it's working and it's because of you and so i just want to encourage you plug into this whether you have items to give we need household items desperately pots and pans i mean as soon as they come in they go out the door because people just don't have some of these things and so we need those we need furniture we need lots of things so if you'd like to donate you can drop off monday tuesday thursday 2 p.m to 6 p.m and then also one of our biggest needs is volunteers we've got a massive shelf filled with donations that need to be sorted and gone through to be put out so people can take it with them so if you would like to volunteer it's those same times monday tuesday thursday two to six pm and you can you don't have to sign up you can just pop in and just not to call you out or anything but i had lots of people tell me when we were building this building i'm gonna be there i can't wait i haven't seen you yet [Music] [Laughter] all right i'm looking for you i'm waiting for you to come we're open so just if you didn't know we are open now i know that we've everyone's got lots of different circumstances going on but i do want to say you know once people jump in and serve i'm telling you they come back and serve i rarely have someone serve once because there's something so beautiful about it is something so wonderful about participating with the kingdom amen you still love me it's incredible i just want to let you know it's a success and it's thanks to you amen well we're gonna uh just acknowledge our offering this morning i want to encourage you to be faithful with your giving our family has really held on to the principle of god um with tithing all our lives we have really tithed and we've watched the faithfulness of god in our tithe and we've watched blessing follow it so when we bring up giving yes it's an awesome you're funding things like the storehouse and you're funding things that the church is doing and that's amazing but when we bring up tithing it's because the blessing of god follows it's a principle of god and we want that for you we want the blessing of god on your life and so i want to encourage you to stay faithful with your tithing even when it's difficult and even when it's hard our giving is a little bit different these days you can pick up white and blue envelopes out in the foyer if you'd like to give and our ushers are at the doors at the end of service and you can drop your offering in the buckets you can also give online which is a really simple way to do that or you can drop your check off at the church office but we thank you so much for just being so faithful to this house y'all are an amazing blessing but we're going to just bless our offering this morning hallelujah father it's an honor it's an honor to bring our offerings to you lord you are our source and lord as we tithe and as we give lord it's our expression of trust in you as our source lord not man not this world but you and so lord this morning i ask that you bless every giver lord i thank you that in those desperate moments where there seems to be lack lord i thank you that you show up god you show up and you are the provider we lean into you in that lord we thank you for what you're doing in this house lord and we ask you to bless it in the name of jesus amen right well i want to speak to you this morning i have something on my heart it's kind of been brewing for a few weeks and um i'm not exactly sure how it's going to come out i don't know if i'm going to teach it or preach it uh i guess it's you know whether you teach or preach it depends if you tell it or if you yell it that's that's how that works but um if you would i want you to turn to psalms 145. i'm going to read out of psalm 145 verses 8 and 9. the title of my message this morning i've just called it the love dilemma the love dilemma is that how you spell dilemma anybody yes it is any english teachers it's not an mna it's mma is that right the lima just just wondering okay i'm a big spell check guy but that one had me okay let's read this together this is in the niv i'd like for us if you can see it i'd like for us to read it together can we do that everybody the lord is gracious and compassionate he is slow to anger and rich in love the lord is good to all he has compassion on all he has made how many thankful for that scripture the lord is gracious and compassionate he is slow to anger and rich in love the lord is good to all he has compassion on all that he has made i'm thankful the lord is slow to anger towards me i'm glad that he is compassionate towards me i'm glad that he has compassion on all that he has made you know and i've seen over the last you know this whole year especially the this political cycle has been a tough one can you can you say amen to that lord of mercy you know there's i mean it's almost it's almost better just not to share an opinion because you could say one thing and you're going to get canceled you could say another thing and you're liable to get cancelled and there was a lot of anger there was a lot of frustration and and i feel like there was even in within the church there was a lot of division and a lot of finger pointing and um and certainly we all have our opinions and in our thoughts and the things that the way that we wanted things to go but i will tell you this god god knows the the end from the beginning the beginning to the end he knew there's no surprise and you know we've got to allow the lord to bring us back into a place of love and of unity towards towards one another towards our nation and towards the towards the world amen thank you we really do [Applause] i have a couple of dogs that i i love dearly and um i really really love them i like them and they've even since i've had them they've grown on me even more and their names are i call them eminem it's millie and moses and uh they're they're nearly perfect i mean they've got some dog issues my wife sometimes likes them but one of the things they they like to do and some of it is our fault some of mostly it is their fault is they feel like apparently that our house is alcatraz and that if they have an opportunity to escape from alcatraz they will escape with all their might anybody have a dog like that and i don't even know why because we treat them so good we feed them we love them and but if they see an opening and you know in our backyard we have a we have a gate it's a big gate that i built just not long ago and it's wide and sometimes we'll come through that gate and it doesn't shut all the way and so the other day i let the dogs out and i looked over and i realized the gate was open and then they looked at the gate and realized it was open and we were both the same distance from the gate and i was like hey guys hey guys and they're like we got you and they went for it boy and i went for it and then they got there first and then they start frolicking you know they get through and then they they just get out about you know 15 20 feet and they're taunting you you know you know and i'm upset i'm like dog gone cause i know it's gonna be a big fiasco they go on these safaris and i just we have to go find them in the neighborhood and and they're just out there like 20 feet knowing knowing that i can't get them you know they think i'm free i'm free i'm free and and then they you know the way they they look at me is makes me so angry if i had a gun even a any kind of if i had a throwing knife any i would i would absolutely and they they taught they they kind of dance at me hey we're free they're free but they are not free indeed because there is a reckoning coming and i almost get to the point when they get out i'm like fine just go ahead just go then we don't want you anyway we you know just go go play in the traffic then i'll buy another one just like you i'm canceling you and i'm thankful that the lord doesn't do that with us you know the the this this picture we have here is that the lord is slow to anger we're fast to anger i'm fast to anger sometimes anybody been fast to anger we're quick to angle quick to move especially in especially sort of in the culture that we're in right now there's people that are frustrated there's people that are angry there's people that are sort of that way well fine you want it that way go ahead america and that's not the way god looks at our nation and that's not the way that we're supposed to look at our nation the lord is slow to anger now listen i've got my political opinions as well but i will tell you the situation that we are in right now is the situation we are in and the lord tells us scripturally that we're going to pray for our leadership we're going to pray for our president we're going to pray and ask god to give him wisdom and direction and change some things lord knows some things need to change in his heart according to some of the decisions that he makes and we'll pray for every president from here on out because that's what god has called us to do and so i want us to i want us to talk about the love the love dilemma john 17 this is the lord's this is the lord's prayer this is actually the lord's prayer the prayer the prayer we call the lord's prayer is actually our prayer this is the one that jesus prayed and he said this i am in them and you are in me may they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me this is a big statement right here he's saying father i am in them you are in me let them walk in such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me to this earth and then he says this and that you love them as much as you love me i think that is one of the most massive statements god has ever made that can change the way you think about yourself and i haven't put this as point number one god the father loves you as much as he loves jesus that is a mind blower that he loved that he said i want them to know god i want them to know that you loved you love them as much as you love jesus himself there's a big difference between concept and revelation there's a big difference between understanding the idea oh god loves us that he died for us you know i mean even even most of the world or most americans would be able to quote john 3 16 that for god so loved the world that he died that he came and he died for us and they have that concept but they don't necessarily have that revelation or the understanding that jesus loves me that he loves that god love the heavenly father loves me as much as he loves jesus himself ephesians chapter 1 says you were called and loved before the foundation of the world before you were ever in your mother's womb the lord knew your name he called you by name and he loved you before the foundation of the world not just he didn't just know the whole world and loved the whole world he loved you and we have so many people that that literally loathe themselves they hate themselves they they feel guilty about their life they don't like themselves but if you can get this understanding not just the i the concept that god loves you but the revelation that he loves you and understand how much value god has placed on you as a person are you here this morning he goes on to say in verse 25 and 26 of john 17 oh righteous father the world doesn't know you but i do and these disciples know you sent me i have revealed you to them and i will continue to do so and listen to this then your love for me will be in them he's saying the love that you have for humanity father the love that you have for humanity and that you have for me will be in them in other words we must love the lost and the world and our in the church and our brothers and sisters as much as god loves us and i think we get away from this sometimes you've got to recalibrate yourself what i'm trying to do this morning is remind you of the depth of how much god loves you an agape love a love that is so deep and that is so wide it is unfathomable it's not a love that can be turned on and turned off it is just who he is god is love it is not what he does he doesn't love like it's an action it is who he is and i think if if the world would understand how deep god loves them and if the if the world could see through the church how much god loves them then the world would be changed but we get off of this love this this love stuff because we think well you know we come to church talk to us about faith i want to be blessed i want to be encouraged i wanted you to tell me how i can be blessed i want you to tell me how i can and we begin to think about ourselves and we get off of this idea of the love of god is where it's at you know it's not just knowledge the world's not just drawn just to the to just the truth just to the truth of the gospel just to the knowledge of the gospel you've got people who are so full of the knowledge of god but it doesn't necessarily attract the loss it's the love of god that will attract the lost you know you've got dr smell fungus who comes in he's got so many degrees he's got more degrees than a thermometer about theology you can have 32 degrees and still be frozen so he knows all you know you can know a lot about god but if you're not able to express the love of god see it's the truth of god served on a platter of love that will change the world the truth of god offered in condescension will incite fury it's not about the 613 laws and understand you know that's not going to draw the world they've got to know us by our love a new commandment i have for you that you would love one another are you guys here today i know i'm okay i'm just going to keep on preaching and just pretend this is good god is love god is the greatest lover in the universe the earth is the display of god's love mankind is the object of god's affection the bible is a love story the bible exudes love it is god's love story written to us love needs an object of affection love must reach outside of itself this agape love that god has given us it's a supernatural love and it's we've got to be able to remember that we've got to reach outside of ourself see the world's love says i will love you if if you can love me back or i will love you to the degree that you love me back the world's love says i can i will only do something for you if i can get back from you but god says no that's not the type of love i'm talking about i want you to love them as i have loved you it's an agape love it's a divine supernatural love it's not a love that the world understands in fact when you express the kind of love that god can express through you it boggles the mind of the world they don't understand it you know i've heard stories of rachel said pastor rachel said people have come in to the to the storehouse and and they say okay well how how how much is this stuff no it's just free what do you what do you mean it's free no it's just this is the this is the love of god through our congregation to you there's no expectation of anything it's just like tilt tilt they don't understand that jesus christ was the most loving kind congenial person that ever lived why why was it that children wanted to to be with him it wasn't because he was serious or angry he exuded this love prostitutes and thieves and liars and tax collectors all wanted to be around jesus it was because there was a love about him yes there was a truth the bible says jesus came full of grace and truth so it is important that they that the world knows the word of god that they know what the gospel is that they know the good news yes god will change your life and completely resurrect your life but it happens through the love of god it is the kindness of the lord that leads to repentance are you guys all right this morning agape love look at this definition of agape love agape love is the god kind of love god's unselfish outgoing affection and tenderness for mankind going out without a qualification on the object or an expectation of reception or reciprocation agape the deep constant loving interest by a by a perfect being towards entirely unworthy objects agape god's purest affection that bursts forth on every unworthy sinner in spite of their previous evil deeds or their present wicked condition agape it's different than the love that man understands see there's a filio love in the greek that means a brotherly love there's a storgay love which has to do with uh it's called a familiar love or a family type of love the type of love you would have for a son or daughter or husband or wife there's an arrow slav which is a romantic type of love and the world is looking for love the world is starving for real love but it's only the agape love this kind of love that meets the need inwardly that meets the need supernaturally that meets the need in the spirits of humanity amen so what happened how did how did paul how was paul so affected by this love how did it change him here is saul who was the murderer of christians he was putting them into putting them in jail he was putting them to death he was persecuting the christians jesus appears to him knocks him off of his horse has this encounter with god but the apostle paul in galatians 2 verse 20 said this i have been crucified with christ and i no longer live but christ lives in me the life i live in the body i live by faith in the son of god who loved me and gave himself for me when he says that word love there that is the word agape he agaped me see it wasn't just the encounter with jesus it was this transformation that happened god softened his heart he was completely transformed to this person who had this hard heart this persecuted heart who had hate in his heart to now had a heart of flesh how because he understood the agape love of god are you here today we talk about you know the the apostles one of the our familiar apostles was the apostle john in fact peter james and john were probably the three closest to to jesus and we think you know the scripture calls john john john the beloved that he was the most loved in fact he says jesus or john says that i was the the most loved by jesus kind of an ego type of thing don't you think and his his mother came in one time and asked jesus said listen when you set up your kingdom can can can my sons sit at your at your right hand then there was another time where where john they were out ministering he was on this healing campaign ministering into villages and it says that they ran into another man who was casting out demons in the name of jesus so he comes back and says jesus listen he says hey boss we found this guy who was casting out devils in your name he said but don't worry we shut him down and jesus rebuked him so why would you do that he didn't understand the love of god then peter and john went into a samaritan village the bible says they sent the disciples out into the the samaritan villages to prepare the people to come john comes back to jesus and says jesus uh there's this one samaritan village there they're not open to receiving your message they're not open to hearing the gospel so this is what i was thinking boss you let me know what you think i think we should call down fire from heaven and consume the whole bunch of them just take them right out the bible says jesus rebuked him for saying that because jesus the the love of god is long-suffering the love of god is is tender the love of god is kind the church doesn't have a power problem the church has a love problem and i think about the charismatic church and listen i have i have been in church my whole life you name it i have seen it i've seen i've been in revival moves straight holy ghost moves i've been in teaching about faith i've been in teaching about prophecy i've been in teaching about the gifts of the holy spirit and it's all good and how are you thankful for the power of the holy spirit in your life we have to have it but the problem we have ministering in the earth is not a power problem what we need is god to give us a fresh baptism of the love of god paul said if i speak in tongues of men and angels but don't have love i am a ringing gong or a clanging symbol if i have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries all knowledge if i have absolute faith so as to move mountains but have no love i am nothing there's got to be an under this this grip this fresh revelation of the depth of the love of god for the world not in concept but in revelation galatians 5 6 for in christ jesus there is neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything but faith works through love faith works through love the power of god that is in our life listen we don't have a power problem god's given us everything we need we have a fresh baptism of the holy spirit we are filled with the holy spirit the church is always looking for the next miraculous thing but we've forgotten the love of god is what is how faith operates you know it's like the other day i was driving a a truck truck it had 400 horsepower in it i mean this thing could this thing could peel out if it wanted to a v8 it's the strongest thing you could put in a in a truck ready to roll and i turned the car i turned the truck on and it had the it had no battery power so it had no amperage all of this potential sitting in this truck but it could not go one foot because it didn't have enough cranking amps that's what the love of god is the love of god is the cranking amps that is in your spirit over and over and over and over within the gospels it says jesus was moved with compassion out of his heart of compassion he was moved my last point is this somebody give me a big amen the holy spirit is the dispenser of the love of god the holy spirit is god's dispenser of his love romans 5 5 the love of god is poured out by the holy ghost who has been given to us the holy ghost the bible says the love of god shed abroad in our hearts by the holy ghost what we need is a fresh baptism of the holy spirit the bible talks about the prodigal son in luke chapter 15. it says he arose the father arose or the son arose and he came to his father but when he was still a great way off his father saw him had compassion and ran and fell everybody say fell he fell on his neck and kissed him this embrace of the father he fell on his on his son and in acts 10 44 says as peter was standing and preaching to the crowds as he was preaching to the crowds she's still speaking these words the holy spirit fell upon all those who heard the lord it's the same word that word fall or fell that the the father embraced the son out of love embracing him here in the book of acts the holy spirit fell it is the same embrace that the father had towards those that peter was preaching to what are we saying i'm telling you today the greatest move of god that the world has ever seen is still upon us these these are not dark days for the church these are the churches brightest days [Applause] [Music] [Music] you know there's a a portion of time between the old testament and the new testament 400 years of silence [Music] 400 years where was god in those 400 years no prophet was prophesying for those 400 years we think man did god just go dark did he just did he did he cancel was he was he did he change his plan did he change his mind you know the bible says that god is waiting that he's waiting for his plan to unfold because there are still those that are coming into the kingdom [Music] god is not in a hurry why because his desire is to see all that the glory of god would fall upon every man every woman every boy every girl don't get so locked into what's going on in our culture so provoked because we're upset about this and that that we lose focus of the entirety of the world yes we need to pray yes there are things we want to change in our nation but man let's let's keep the focus let's keep the main thing the main thing and what is the main thing it's the great commission he sent us into all the world to preach the gospel they will know us by our love [Music] jesus prayed he said let them be in such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me [Music] you know what the world looks at now they go on facebook a man these people are uptight [Music] like god doesn't have the power to change everything in one moment [Applause] [Music] stand your feet with me this morning [Music] so [Music] lord we want to be conformed into your image we want to be transformed into your image lord do your work in us remind us of the great love that you have for us [Music] i just believe that there's people here today you know within the last few months you become so angry so embittered even with family members it could be with your husband or wife or your or your children [Music] i want you i want to remind you god is just saying you've got to receive them in love [Music] lord soften our hearts soften our hearts [Music] [Music] can you sing that chorus for us let's just enter into this over this this congregation this morning we thank you for your touch upon their life lord we thank you that you're not finished with us yet that you're working in us god lord we pray that you bring us back to center that you bring us back to the call of who we are back to our dna to the roots of what you've called us to be and that is to be a reflection a reflection of you on this earth we thank you for a fresh baptism of the holy spirit and fire right now in the name of jesus a fresh baptism of the love of god the boldness of god the power of god the strength of god the encouragement of god to be leaders in this hour like never before father we thank you if you've not called us to be thermometers you've called us to be the thermostats we set the temperature in the atmosphere and in the environments that we are in in jesus name thank you for your call father i pray whatever words that were spoken today lord that you would fill in every gap god that you would speak to the hearts where i fell short lord that you would fill in in the name of jesus we thank you that your word never returns void but it will accomplish that for which it was sent in jesus name we thank you for amen amen just before you go i want to let you know if there's anyone here that would need prayer for anything at all maybe maybe you're saying man i need just to get back right with god today is the day for you to do that if you need healing if there's something you're believing god for maybe you're need some prayer for finances just someone to agree with you whatever situation it may be we want to encourage you to come down i'm going to ask some of our elder teams ministry teams to be down front and to be prepared to minister to you so please don't leave until you've done business with god we
