hello can y'all waiting hello hello hello hello hello hello hello there we go alright seems to be a bit of a delay yes everybody what are y'all up to there's a lot going on I'm doing well I'm in Orlando right now it's 2:30 on a Saturday it's chatter day I thought we'd chat anybody else bore down there what are you guys doing for the coronavirus these days my sons behind me I say okay but what happened I don't know you got alright thank you no no I don't have birds no I have I have a little boy he's - he was watching something back there you need to shave I do need to shave this is my coronavirus chic I'm glad you like it hi from Brazil what's up Brazil good to see you guys thanks everybody for joining today how many people do we have here 403 people that is 402 more people I thought I was gonna have this hasn't been fun my little channel here is just a couple months old and I've never done this thing before here so you know I'm thought we'd try it out see how it goes um be honest with you I'm a little nervous I normally have four other dudes with me today it's just me so somebody thinks I should grow up my whole beard how about new if you knew how much gray was in here you wouldn't you wouldn't be saying that how many how many voice play fans do we have here today this chat is moving so quickly somebody keeps saying turn on slow mode yeah but I don't know where that is somebody needs to give me tech support for slow mode everybody is a voice plate fan that's awesome I was trying to get some of the guys to to jump in here shortly but I think they're all I would say they're busy but I don't think they're busy how is my voice doing it's good I haven't been doing any singing I haven't we haven't had a show since when was our last show March 10th I think March 10th or 11th it's kind of a funny story we were we were on the Disney Wonder big cruise ship and we we joined in we joined the cruise ship we flew to the Bahamas we joined the cruise ship in the Bahamas we're supposed to be on for two days we ended up getting stuck there for two weeks because we were supposed to get off in Cartagena Colombia but the Colombian authorities wouldn't let anybody off the ship so we got stuck on board so that was our last show and mean what we had all the things lined up and they all one by one cancelled and so things just keep getting pushed back and push back push back but we really do want to get back on the road soon hopefully we're still working we're working on arrangements and charts and all kinds of stuff right now Manavi Sharma hope I'm saying your name right what is performing on a cruise ship like it's fun it can be really fun we were only there for years only supposed to be there for two days but but you know you get to it's a there's smaller shows and what we normally do so it's kind of fun that way and then and then being doing the show and then getting to be on board with all the people you just did the show for for the next couple days it's really cool because everybody just feels like they know you know do you say hi and you're just chilling you know it's kind of like a big 2,000 person family everybody knows all the same jokes it's cool let's say here will you ever come to Nashville Tennessee Sanders freedom we love Nashville we haven't been we haven't been to Nashville since I think we did the sing-off tour we do want to go back Lane has family in Nashville we all just really like Nashville a lot but maybe towards the end of the year we're expecting this whole lockdown thing to last for another atleast month or two I don't know what it's like in other countries and other some people here from from outside the United States but from outside other country I you know just fingers crossed the things that we're hearing right now are like you know perhaps July perhaps August answer and his question police if she can stop spamming what is Anna's question she's gonna spam again are my eyes Gollum Gollum Jill gold gold golden girl are your eyes black or just dark brown they're actually they're actually kind of hazel just the lighting is little more easy than my hair there brownish brownish greenish can you come to Boston on your next tour god I hope so I love Boston Oh Tommy's here what up Tommy fill the basin then in the room I still haven't seen Anna's question but ANF you're out there drop a drop a drop your question here I should mention too I think we said this on the on the live chat with voice playing I catch that one super chats are enabled you don't have to you don't have to do that but I do see one up here which feels let's see here this is from Casper Fox I've always wondered is there any reason early singing tenor one rather than le they both got the range for it let's still hope everything's well is there any reason that early singing tenor one well they both do have the range for it they're both technically tenor ones Earl's voice tends to just be more like a laser beam he just sits right on top so well it's more about his Tambor and la tends to have a lower register he's like he's got one of these really unique voices where he can sing bass baritone tenor 210 and one and also he's got a crazy falsetto as well so we use le is kind of like le and J kind of interchangeably as kind of like the glue that holds the sound together Burrell is just really comfortable on top and his boys gets there really well so that's you know that's kind of the way that works I hope that answered your question wolf Frank wait hang on let this go [Music] if somebody knows okay really what do you think about Tim storms his voice this is from trichter dang I'm just gonna murder your name I'm sorry dürdane spinoff what do you think about Tim storms his voice also how much time did it take for you to get good so far X ok so Tim storms that you don't know is he has the lowest bass voice on record I think he holds the spoke world records for Louis bass voice it's a very tall glass and I am personally a fan of his voice I think there are prettier bass voices out there but the things that he can do with his voice are incredible so much respect to Tim storms and then what was the second happier question how much time to take for you to get good subharmonics this is actually a really funny question because I was just going through my old my old voice memo stated that anybody out there watching my arranging video I keep my voice memos app open like continuously when I'm thinking about music and when I'm doing stuff so I found my very first successful subharmonic I had recorded it and at the time I wasn't calling it subharmonics I was calling it I heard his Tuvan because I thought I was tubing throat singing maybe I was trying that at the time of the season here in the mic super pretty but that was September 25th mm 2016 September 25th 2016 so that was three and a half years ago and I would say it still needs a lot more work the things that you guys hear and all the songs all the videos that that are like solo and so like you know earth-shattering and your headphones that's a lot of it's not a lot but it's considerable post-production like we take the wave form and turn it all the way up and then so it's so it really just it sits right in the front of the mix same thing we do it live like our sound engineer just just pushes that fader all the way forward so the subwoofers just shake yeah so three and a half years at least and it's I have a feeling it's gonna be a lifelong pursuit good question let's see here Nate I'm learning some harmonics I can hit a C to the b-flat one awesome that's great darf Burson eighty-eight I love that avi and Tim collab that would be a lot of fun it would be really hard right now because no one's allowed to be in groups of more than one person I have this theory that at some point soon you're not gonna be allowed to be around even yourself and you're someone's just gonna come to your door and hang you or something done that's not true the only way to stay safe is to be dead oh wow shailen Wilson hello oh this is funny I can put you in timeout but I'm not going to hi from Michigan love-love-love boys play oh thank you thank you so much wanted to come to a show but the closest one to me it's been six hours away just drive it it's fine hopefully someday oh thank you so much yeah we thank you hopefully soon we want to come back to Michigan we play we play up there a lot but we haven't played Michigan in a minute we have we have we have this like really fun tour lined up for the end of the year and then spring as well and also so like fall winter and then spring so hopefully all that stuff will happen come through yeah hopefully um let's see here Elijah Samsung up darn it he's moved so quickly the second I moved my cursor it just freaks out I think I lost you anyway sorry about that oh this is a good question I cannot pronounce her name because it looks like it's in kanji but did you hit an a0 in warriors we saw this question a lot on the boys play Locke chat and no no I did not hit in 8 0 and warriors that was so that was lanes arrangement and he was also in charge during production on that and he felt like there's all different kinds of things that you can do at post and one of the things you can do is you can add an octave below then we rarely do this it is one of my least favorite things for this exact reason a because it's confusing and B just because I don't really prefer the sound of it but Layne wanted more of a punch on the on that chorus I believe that's what you're talking about in warriors if you guys haven't seen it go listen it's really fun playing plays violin so is Jay and so know that a zero I believe is an artificial enhancement of a one that I did say but I believe I sang lower than than the a one in that in that song I'm not I don't remember that was a while ago from a at this point you're somebody on top let's see here I hit the e one from your Aggie boogie eaves from Jacob Barnard again I hit the e one from your OB boogie on my channel oh that's amazing would you let me know what you think and any tips to improve and appreciate it my chest voice goes to the G sharp one wow that's great G sharp one is amazing I think I've said it before in some other videos like if you if you have anything below like an e e flat it's like you're doing great it's a lot of low singers out there that they can't do that cleanly or I can't do it with a pleasing sound so you know having a G sharp one is huge you are blessed and yeah I'll I'll see if I can check that out and I can't do it right this second but Jacob Bernard write that down over here got you anything there we go [Music] tomorrow the nerd asks are you okay Jeff am i okay I think I'm okay are you okay are you guys okay I mean I'm okay as I'm gonna get given the circumstances let's see here greetings from Poland Thank You nyesha nyesha huh Nikki you guys have very difficult handled names hey Jeff any ideas on octave ISM versus subharmonics I don't I'm not sure that I fully understand that I believe so like the Pat like the like optimism I believe is and I can be wrong about this but it is specific to like the Russian singers like the Russian octave lists they're like what's going on it's glasses came on anyway so octave is inverses several marks so I think that activism is like if you have a legit SuperDuper low voice you're an activist if you just sing it so harmonics at sub harmonics so it's like full voice versus that like low sub harmonic sound I think I don't really know Traven guy you just need to come to California we do need to come to California I love California go and face official hi bro you inspired me to start singing bass thank you so much you're welcome keep singing super fun let's see here singing question from gecko tunes when you sing your sub harmonic register are there lower notes that you can hit as a chest voice but you can if you vocal fry and octave down sing when you sing your sub harmonic register are there lower notes that you can hit as a chest voice but you can if your go before I liked it done I'm not sure I understand that question but if what you're saying is it does my chest voice overlap my sub harmonics register the answer is yes I think most people do I would think yeah can you sing in chest fry this is from YT mgc I don't even know what chest fry gets so I'm gonna say no sorry let's see here this is a funny question that we get all the time - Edgar Daniele Ruiz and Medina awesome that's a power name power name Edgar how tall are you why is that if people want to know I don't know why so I am 5 foot 11 and 1/2 inches and that last half inch makes all the difference all the ladies will tell you don't repeat that let's see here this is from Alex Morris and covers what's up Alex what plugins do you use on vocals if you know what plugins do we use on vocals so it depends on the song now I'm not in charge of mixing and mastering that goes off to add are typically 99.9% of the times goes off to our mix engineer Edie Boyer who is super he's like the dude for a cappella he does I think he does all the Chris rough stuff he does he's done Pentatonix's stuff I don't know if he still does I believe he mixes for Peter Hollens he did pitch perfect so he's like a thug dude and he probably has a whole suite of things that he throws on our stuff but the broad strokes I can give you would be like some kind of e do for sure some kind of compressor I prefer like a CLA to a from waves I also use new ATS plugins like pull tech legacy EQ is great waves vitamins sonic enhancer it's super but as far as what Eddy uses I'm just guessing like definitely some kind of EQ some kind of compression some kind of overall mix buss compressor may be a vocal exciter harmonic distortion for sure so it brings out all those super highs and super low overtones that are created that don't naturally come out to the human ear all those little things make a difference to your final product and sometimes it goes too far like we've had that issue before like it's when you're doing mixes and you're going back and forth like you'll get you know that one's a little too we got to bring that one back a little bit so you know it's give and take for sure I hope that answered your question I'm sorry Justin Sheffield asks did you work in Universal Studios I did work at University knows I was Frankenstein I was a singing Frankenstein for 10 years before they closed that show I'm I'm not sure how to pronounce your name and I'd have throught froth ah sorry sorry you guys kill me hey Jeff I have a little question I'd love to see you performing but I'm French and I can't go to the US gotcha okay will you come to France or are the European countries we would love to we've gone as far as the Philippines but we don't have any planes currently to go to the go to Europe or the UK although we do get requests for that all the time hopefully soon it's kind of a stock reply we tell everybody until we know more of what's going on with the world you know we'll just we're just gonna have to see let's see here let's go to the bottom here what was my favorite song to sing and I don't know who asked that cuz everything just jumped my favorite song to sing my favorite voice play song to sing is any way you want it it's a big one love them but as far as I don't personal favorite song to sing I really like singing bare necessities classic can't go wrong with that let's see here are you guys ever gonna do this is all caps so against boom because every douche in the UK hopefully fingers crossed this is funny sushi I'm sushi asks his JD Sumner good yes JD Sumner is very good JD Sumner was another he's a gospel bass super good singer I am Not sure he's still alive in fact I think he may not be alive haiya tropical says have you ever watched a Jeff cast of lucu subharmonic compilation on YouTube I have not I have seen a couple of those things pop across my feed and it is the rare occasion when I will watch one typically it's like I'm not interested you know I have a hard time watching myself back I think a lot of performers are like that get William on stream I'm not gonna put William on stream he's very busy watching a baby bus I don't know what that is this is a question for somebody here let's see here this is jam boy productions I sing bass and love singing along with the bass lines for voice plays Arrangements awesome I'm glad you liked it what was your lowest note in your teen years is from max brunettes or possibly brown a I'm not sure where you're from lowest note in my teen years so you may or may not know this but Lane and Earl and myself went to middle school and high school and college together so we've known each other forever and we were in choir so Lane and I were both Sopranos our freshman year of so maybe eighth grade year of middle school and then we were tenor ones in our freshman year of high school and then sophomore year I was like I can't sing tonight while I was saying bass and I was terrible at it like not good in fact if you're on our patreon any patrons here if you go way way way back in patreon posts and post some votes ago I posted one of our very first recordings and I sound like me but just like sped up because you know I was just much younger and my voice had matured yet so the lowest note that I could sing at the time I think think I had like it's a low C but it was really not I'm sorry I'm hidden am I really not anything to write I mean it was like fine you know what it wasn't anything that I really tried to develop because why it's useless unless you're on a great system with a great mic and great engineer and all the reasons so now of course I work hard with that but lo C is the short long answer George Deeb's asked who is your favorite bass singer is it Thurl Ravenscroft of course it still rhymes got so Thurl Ravenscroft berry Carl Alvin Chia triste Curless George baldies up there he's good so probably five names that a lot of you don't know sorry let's see here Dalton Watson asks really enjoy hearing you guys would love to hear a full version of tiptoe through the tulips been wanting that for a few years that is funny anybody who's seeing voice plays road trip video or seeing us live you know that we do have a very small section of tiptoe through the tulips by Tiny Tim it's an old old creepy song and when I was arranging that piece I was looking for like what's the most ridiculous song I can think of that people would be like what uh like even if you didn't know the song you would recognize it as being absurd so that was the one but we don't plan to have a full arrangement of that side no funny side note Earl hates that song he hates it we've been singing it for not road trip just that specific song he hates it so much I'll let him know that you who was that again Dalton Watson I'll let him know you said that we should do it will y'all ever do this is from Natalie lemon we all ever do a cover of a Broadway song oh we've done so many we did the Broadway top-10 we've done my shot we did if you look on Kurt Hugo Schneider channel we did waving through a window which is awesome it's so good it's like my favorite well my favorite things that we've done I love singing that alive - it was really really fun but but yeah I check that on a particular status channel yes so we will do more we have plans to do a wicked thing supposed to be this spring but obviously that didn't happen so you know it's in the works let me see here let me go down to the bomber I've only got a few more minutes and then I gotta go I don't just I'm in the same boat you guys already know like we don't have school child care grandparent like we don't have nothing so it's just Kathy and I and we're taking care of little man back here so it's hard to get anything done but so I only have a few more minutes but let me see if I can slow this down yeah Simon asks have you ever seen a cover from Tony I think I mentioned told me earlier yes in fact I just watched his is Witcher 1 recently I was super cool nice job dome how do you Caleb asks how do you deal with copyright personally I don't worry about YouTube puts them on YouTube they handle it somebody may make a claim against your video or your song if you're doing a cover and that's fine you'll still get a piece of that advertising revenue if your channel is monetized if it's not then you don't have to worry about it as far as putting things out on like a streaming website or it's like a music platform Spotify Google Play whatever there are services that take care of that for you so when you upload your music you just don't really have to worry about so that's for that stuff for live shows we and we have a license to do things or venues have a license to do things it's probably a question for like um attorney wants question for me let's see here Ella Rosencrantz hey hey what's up I think you are a a YouTube member of voice play hi we love voice play happy birthday to William that's right it's coming right up I didn't actually forget I just forgotten this moment would you consider yourself a light or dark side of star wars three generations watching oh wow light or dark side of Star Wars I mean light side but the dark side has cooler call it colored lightsabers so if I could get a combination like the light side with the cooler color as I want the red one more cello bass is that your real name more cello bass asks Matt I think it's voucher of foutch did an interview with Tim fast and wants to do one with you I don't know who that is but I'm down to do whatever so if they want to reach out they're totally welcome to see here rah-rah fortnight 7-7 so what is your lowest subharmonic it depends on the day much like if you guys are doing some harmonics if you're if you're working on that skill just like all of you guys it's you know it's it's biology and it's constantly changing and shifting around some days it's like oc0 some days it's you know like some day it's just it changes the thing that I could count on would be like f e and that takes a little warming up and like I said you know I hadn't even thought about it in a month because we're not doing shows so when we start touring again will be I'll be hitting that harder you know good question that's a fun one let's see here maybe the last one we're gonna do then we're gonna go this is from Carson M Brooks hey Jeff greetings from Montana y'all should come do a show here we should come to chill Montana I pay handsomely to get to hang out with all of you we were actually talking about that well not you know having Carson Brooks come out hang out with us but we are talking about when we do shows too because we are we typically will do like meet and greets after the show which are my favorite part we're all exhausted and sweaty and stinky after singing for two hours but we really love meeting everybody after the show so but that meet and greet line at the end has become absurd which is amazing thank you guys but we're trying to figure out how to do a thing where you can get a special ticket and see us before the show so it's a little more cuz it's kind of like love and show of like hey nice to meet you and then weeks and then we push you down the line because we have 300 people sitting there so Montana Carson Brooks hang out we'll grab a beer if you're old enough root beer you do what everybody wants to know my lowest notes can you lay it lay Brown lowest Brown note about saying ye I've never really tried to do that below baloney things start to get real like Airy and you lose I lose a lot of tone and it just gets very like just wind coming out so ye ish would you trade places with Tim Faust for a day of course I would there was actually a thing when this is this with years ago right after the home-free one league sing off they were they were gonna sub me in for Tim because Tim had another obligation and but it ended up he ended up having us but you switched things around but I was totally there Tim if you need me to sub in for you buddy I'm there for you I just chat with him the other day he's just as bored as everybody else um oh this is actually really funny this is how crazy Tim is Tim Tim texted me he said he said hey my wife just had an idea for you guys we should do this is quarantine to the tune of this is Halloween which I thought was genius but of course we're all quarantined so yeah so quite some quick updates so voice play is we are scheduled to shoot a video today's the 11th we are still recording we're still arranging we're still planning on shooting videos so if you're not subscribed to voice plays channel do so more things coming up before the end of the month unfortunately we had nothing in the can before all this craziness happened so soon look for Beatles Gloria Gaynor Stevie Wonder look for those three things they're coming soon aside from that I yes any more any more final things everybody stay safe out there thanks for joining me I don't know maybe we'll do this again I don't know it's kind of a interesting way to pass the time there were so many of you here I did not expect anywhere near as many folks so thank you guys for for stopping by Beach Boys medley love the Beach Boys possibly from Bob dog oh my god somebody somebody email me just email email hello at Jeff Castelluccio calm and tell me how to do slowmode on the thing here on the doobly-doo right so thanks guys stay tuned stay safe stay healthy you want to say anything cat don't come say hi and then we'll say bye well Happy Easter yeah oh yeah there's there's
