IT LOOKS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! (Couldn't Have Done It Without Her)

so [Music] okay are we getting ready for the day yes what is happening with your feet i'm putting hand warmers inside of my socks it's not that cold my feet are cold i feel like we do this every time we get started we have to have a discussion about how it's not as cold as everybody makes it out to be with their hand warmers and their 20 coats it's two degrees off and they're beanies indoors it is not it actually is a very very cold morning in germany it's so cold so today we are continuing our quest towards getting this place insulated buttoned up heated and warmer are we ready to get to work yes okay fiberglass baths we're using them once again we have novae out here helping melissa and i with the interior walls this time we're gonna be using an r13 fiberglass bat that is faced what are we discussing would you like to share with the class okay we're using a fiberglass bat that is faced because we want to be able to staple everything up to those interior wall studs make sure those baths don't slide come back we haven't dry well i am so distracted right now what is the secret i don't even say anything i'm just messing with you let's get to work what are we gossiping about with the slider now with your breath but it's all right [Music] we got all of these dividing walls done it is nuts to not be looking through all the walls yeah nuts i think our our rooms got smaller what do you think they got smaller and darker but it's really cool to make out the rooms now we can see you know what it's gonna look like once we get our finished surface up somewhat we're not entirely done we still have little empty basins like this because we have some plumbing issues that we need to work out here i'm gonna go around trim up all the narrow sections so uh we're coming along we're making progress it's just it's really weird not to be able to just see through the house and walk through walls and stuff but really cool while jeremy finishes up all those little bays we are going to start working on all of the dividing walls on the kids room side ready ready going fast we need our ladders [Music] no okay i'm kind of at a loss here because this is where a washer and dryer and utility sink are going and there is plumbing and wires and drains everywhere so i don't even know how to insulate these cavities i think i'm going to leave those for a journey let's figure go on top of that i like cedar over pine only because it smells better when they pee in the pine pee in the pine it smells really bad so with the cedar it just seems to stay fresher longer um so i went with cedar wood chips and then sawdust over the top just to help keep them dry and we'll just muck these out every morning i'm gonna do this a lot thicker but we're still trying to get these stalls all dialed in if you guys saw our last video you saw that our horses decided to jump our fence and go gallivanting all through the neighborhood so we were able to get them back thankfully and we secured these stalls for them so they've been sleeping at them for about five nights now they love them when we open up the doors and we put their dinner in they're already waiting in here it's so funny because it's like they just love to go to bed for the night they must feel really safe and secure at them so i'm really glad they like them coda was a little unsure about him like you talking about me thank you coda was a little unsure about him the first night so what i was saying is we are getting these stalls all dialed in we're going to get more shavings in there plus we've got some hay racks that are on the way and some hangers for their water buckets so they can't kick those over i've also ordered pretty much every stall boredom ball on the market we've got mineral ones himalayan salt block ones we've got some molasses grain balls coming so they should be pretty happy and entertained for the eight hours that they are locked up in their stalls but they do really seem to love them so we're grateful we feel like they're much safer in here now at night we are now going to get back to work on insulating this house maybe we can get it done tonight [Music] your voice is goal to get these interior walls insulated in two days today is day number two we lost the veil for the day all of the uh bedroom interior walls are completed so all we have left is a great room let's see if we can't get it done you have a good stapler yep how come you get the good safeway because i had to use the clunky steak when i'm holding that bait without me where is the chunky saver i need that i don't know over there you just start there yeah i'm sorry here meet you in the middle i'm gonna peach it in the middle that's fine i'll let you win we're gonna race let me have to do this [Music] we finished up that first wall in the grey room and i just realized that that means that we finally have one room that is insulated all the way around and it happens to be the master bedroom holy cow we have a complete bedroom because before this was all just see-through how about now is it starting to look like a house now yeah now it's starting to look like a house the rooms really do look significantly smaller now that you don't see all the way through them but i love it i love it so much we got a sheet rock up on the ceiling all i know is this is four times bigger than what we have in the tiny home yeah this is like half the time i'm just opening yeah it's awesome well on that very exciting note we're gonna continue working we are leaving these bays open because our furnace is finally in we have been waiting since july for hvac and all of those parts to come in everything's been on back order but it's in now and they're going to be dropping that down into our crawl space on some trapeze hangers so it's not using up any space in our house but for now we're going to continue on with the pantry this is going to look very different because once we close in this pantry all of a sudden the great room is going to be about six feet shorter back to work that's pretty good yeah really good i used to be able to bring my leg up here now waist level hey for a 15 year old woman i'm not 50. stop with that most liver 50 year old i've ever seen you ain't seen nothing yet oh my god almost ready [Music] i never practiced piano when i was a boy and i still ain't working to perfect guitar i never read my lesson books like god did the way they look study halls when i mapped out the stars sometimes i forget to do the things that others do take it off for granted like a night i'm sleeping through so sometimes i'll awaken from the dream cold and confused very last cavity sort of for now for now for today our house looks so different now i never imagined that something as simple as insulation could be so impactful but really it's all been impactful considering that we started here with nothing but an empty field it's been a whirlwind all the many changes that we've experienced over the last 18 months and to think just a single decision started it all we came so close to just sticking with our comfortable lives staying the course that we're all taught to follow but it comes down to this one day or day one that's a powerful choice it's good it's a house yeah good nice job awesome mighty fine stapling one more thing check out those very impressive all of our
