It Got CRAZY Fast When I Walked on This Beach!

hello Beach BS welcome back to the channel it is a beautiful day and it is Springtime and it is time for some top water this is the salt strong moon walker one of my absolute favorite top water lures it's got a lot of advantages which I'm going to talk about on the beach in the morning I'm going to head out looking for those speckled trout we get a very unique opportunity on the Alabama Gulf Coast where we get a lot of speckled trout in the surf lot of fun these are like almost like a different species of trout they're not but they act so different in the surf versus in Shore they are just aggressive they are mean they get big out there they are fat and just angry and I love catching them and they love smacking some top water lures so we're going to take the salt strong Moonwalker to the beach in the morning and see if we can get on some of these triout on top water so I will see you on the beach oh there's a fish right there oh I think it might be a blue not real sure smoked it right there feels like one getting started early on the top water still a little dark it jumped on me so I'm uh just keeping that Rod tip down trout heck yeah dude he was acrobatic and he is going nuts holy smokes oh there he goes first trout of the morning nice fish probably about 17 in still a little dark dude he jumped out of the water that was sick on the moon walker I'll show you what I've got going on a little bit later when uh we get a little bit more light but that's the thing about top water fishing you got to get out here early I missed the fish caught that one so I'm going to stay at this spot for just a minute see if there's any more hanging around in here oh oh right there oh goodness goodness woo he's running he's running oh gosh that was a nice hit this fish is dogging me right now oh man I back down the drag a little bit just to uh let them have a little more play that was so aggressive I know it's still early so you can't see real well I've got 50 lb mono leader because I'm kind of a assuming that I'm going to run into some Bluefish this morning and I don't think we have amazing water oh dang he pulled loose I wonder if he was foul hooked might have been like a foul hooked blue dang they were really angry at that lure though oh another big h H right there oh no dang it wave messed me up I was like right where they right where they were oh goodness gracious wow he popped it woo got to fight these waves okay come on let's get you in okay nice he's not even that big he's just fat another another trout these surf trout I've always said they're uh super aggressive they are just not like the ones that you find in Shore they are a different breed of animal they are so aggressive really cool fish croaking a little bit probably a male we'll get you back buddy see you you guys are fired up this morning love being able to come out here in the surf fish a top water there's not a ton of wind so fortunately it's not too choppy out here but we do have these swells which when you're top water fishing in the surf it is you do want a little bit of wave action it does help get things kind of fired up but kind of have to work around a little bit makes it a little more difficult oh right by the beach right here he was hanging out right here little guy it's okay we'll take it well he ain't that little I guess come on you are fat I'm sorry I under underestimated you wow the girth on this fish can't even grab them look at that guy holy smokes that is a fat trout nice fish on the top water that was like like 10 ft from the beach we get you back oh started wiggling didn't want to drop you on the ground heck yes this is what we wanted so we have had a decent amount of rain and usually when we get a lot of fresh water coming on to the Gulf side that does push a lot of these trout out here so that's probably got them fired up and got them stacked up in here there's a dolphin working on the back side of that bar I don't know if he's chasing trout or mullet I've got the salt strong moon walker tied on I'm missing my eyeballs I've been throwing this one for a little while it does have the inline single hooks on here which is helpful in some different scenarios it is nice for casting you can cast a little bit further also if you've got some grass out here in the surf which we have to deal with that from time to time you can work around it a little bit better you're not picking up nearly as much grass with those single hooks as you are with trebles so you can fish un what you would think is unfishable a lot of the time and still have success also if you're Fishing the Flats and you're using this and you're fishing over and grass doesn't pick up as much grass there either so it's helpful in those situations also better for the fish you know if you're going to be releasing them like we are today it's less likely that you're going to really tear them up or jack up an eyeball on them or anything like that with a treble hook do like the moon walker uh this bone color which is just perfect for the surf great color but I do have a link in the description you can pick one of these up great top water lure for surf fishing and inshore for trout red fish good thing about the single hooks when you do hook up a lot of the times you do hang on pretty good solid hookup it's kind of slowed down for me here I'm not getting as many strikes as I was about 10 minutes ago oh oh gosh oh that was a big hit oh I think that was a shark shark just got me I don't know if if it was the shark going for the top water or a Shrout and he ate the trout cut me clean dang lost my moon walker I do love top water but they have uh died down pretty good on that so I've got a Meine twitch bait tied on not going to be able to cast this quite as far but hopefully they're still hanging up close enough maybe we can get them with the twitch bait I feel like these fish are still in here there's still a lot of bait they just are not striking the top water for me there we go there's a pit oh gosh oh he's still there still there he picked it up it was just sitting there let's see what we got feels uh feels kind of heavy um I only got 20 lb 4 on here so if it's like a blue fish or something it makes me really nervous oh I think it was a blue saw it in the last second let's check that leader came unglued could have been a trout it swam all the way up to the beach and then popped off there's a fish there we go oh goodness woo they're liking it sitting still and like I popped it just a couple times and then kind of had it sitting there it feels like a trout I'm back down that drag feel like could be decent it's definitely slowed down a good bit had to make the change from the top water finally getting some eats now ohoo he's a good fish there we go nice and fat these surf trout are bruisers this one's probably getting pretty close to 20 H Maybe not maybe 18 but but fat first trout in a minute nice fish on the Meine had to make the switch love top water but I like catching fish more so you got to change what works sometimes they just quit hitting the top water so you got to make the swap all right let's see if we can get another one like that I think that was my biggest of the day so far on the subsurface trout sure do know how to snatch a lure they were very good at that they hit it so dang aggressive okay moving around now and sticking with the twitch bait caught a few trout out of the same are area hung around there for a minute moving around now seeing if I can locate these fish it has died over there oh right there we go that was some weird hits I don't know if that's trout uh I think it might be a Lady Fish H there we go back on it I can't tell it's not jumping but he's pulling I felt like uh some taps and then he committed kind of felt like a like a school Lady Fish or something but not acting like it now then we got a trout there we go seems to be a nice fish oh yeah nice trout woo woo that's a stud you want him that's the biggest of the day right there holy smokes woo fat probably probably only 21 22 in maybe I hear this guy's talking to me down here got this nice trout here he's probably 21 22 in somewhere in that range but nice and fat good fish we're going to donate him here he's uh trying to provide a meal for his family here so we're going to give this trout up but beautiful fish very nice biggest one of the day for me so far that was a nice trout always good to pop a decent one out here the bike has slowed down they were fired up this morning but they've uh they've slowed down a good bit but the quality is there so that's good fish are doing pretty good this morning everybody seems to be catching thank you for watching today's video I hope you enjoyed it
