we're actually going like i like it just seems like she's being extra which is fine okay um oh okay so all the face buttons jump the triggers jump the bumper buttons do not jump but the triggers jump which is a little whoa and they also either the triggers jump or grab or all of the buttons jump or yeah all of the buttons jump or grab um pause the game and check my buttons controls oh that's unfortunate oh and also i forgot i yeah there's no oh my god there's not even a back button it listen if there's one thing that needs to change by the time this game comes out put a back button on the menus don't be it don't be a savage wait does the do the bumper buttons back menu no not even the you you're not using the bumper buttons for anything else one or two [Music] this game can be played so ps5 i'm playing this on ps5 uh it's a native ps5 game uh this is not backwards compatible this is developed for native ps5 meaning uh they had the ability to utilize the adaptive triggers which is essentially if you don't know where the adapted triggers are um they uh they they're like like a special custom resistance that developers can add to the triggers on the ps5 controller so for example uh you can have triggers like titan uh or sometimes even just straight up lock up uh depending on what mechanic you're trying to use it's really cool it's super cool um so ballon wonderland uses this apparently however oh yeah yeah there was an adapter figures out so but here's here's the weird thing here's the weird thing the triggers don't do their own things they have adaptive triggers when but only when you get a power so like i i have the power now and now the triggers are adaptive and they're like actively resisting against my trigger presses the problem is that it's literally arbitrary because i can just press the face buttons and it does the same thing why is you decided to turn on the attractive triggers it's it doesn't feel like a motivated decision they just kind of put it here what the that's such a weird choice trying to give my fingers the workout damn i don't get it i really don't get it it's like it's it like it literally just seems like they're just trying to get in on like the novelty i mean it's not the most resistant right like it's like it it it's like it's not hard to press um but it's it's a very weird thing where like it genuinely is just off when you're not using a power and so it just it feels so odd it feels so odd to me oh yeah this is happening twitching honey donated ten dollars trans writes to accept this donation press the back button doesn't what a this game is full of interesting choices it's it's certainly it's certainly unique it is certainly unique if nothing else [Music] the cutscene set a high standard visually and like like like i got like again i will reiterate visually this game is holding up it's really pretty okay i can change costumes that's good to perform an extra oh it's like a yoshi it's like a yoshi it's not it's it's like every little like every little shot it's like you're pulling your trigger through molasses it's like you're pulling your trigger through molasses like like just like yeah okay here's one way to illustrate it so this is this is how quickly and this is like physically as fast as i can go right this is how quickly i can do it with the face buttons okay wait maybe not the best example hold on there was like a it was going a lot faster for a second oh oh it's when i hold forward that it goes faster okay okay so if i so yeah if i if i hold forward and press it on the face buttons it's so fast good this is so fast i can we go all right with the with the triggers it's like it's like notably slower like not to the point where it's like too much of a hindrance or anything also i can't jump with this costume you you if i if you're gonna just i can't kill them anyway um so yeah anyway the tech is uh don't use the triggers i mean like you know what just don't use them in general definitely don't use them for the dragon costume yeah the the the disappearing characters are i swear this is like a like i know this is like kind of like it's like a little bit of a normie take that's the worst thing i've ever said but bear with me it's a little bit of a normie take but like the weird like ground warping and like disappearing dancing characters and like the non-descript like disappearing man who changes sizes like this feels like a stealth horror game you know like like it's real like it's legitimately unsettling in like really weird specific areas yeah it feels like a nightmare like it like it feels like a really maybe not even like a nightmare but just like a up dream which i can't i guess that's what a nightmare is can i not oh i don't have my wolf costume anymore that's right i just mean like not like overtly scary but like this is a dream where like you wouldn't like you wouldn't like jolt awake because it's scary but you'd think back on like like okay you wouldn't jolt awake but the stress and like the looming sense of dread would like slowly wake you up and then you'd think back on it and you'd be like what the like what the hell like what what was my brain doing and there's like a stark difference there's a stark difference between like a like a jolt awake nightmare and just like a really slow burn stressful dream i i get the latter more than the former and i got it it is one of the worst things in the world i had one of those last night i one of those last night like legit and like i didn't wake up from it but i i vividly trying it out yourself i mean the demos free so that there's one thing if you play the demo and you have a good time you you keep that you keep that you hold that close to your chest donut don't let anyone ever take that away from you um but yeah and like especially since there's a demo you know this isn't even me saying like like disregard my recommendation because at the end of the day my recommendation doesn't matter specifically because you can just try this game for yourself um so yeah if if you try it and you enjoy it go for it you know like like that that's that's between you god and you usually not oh i lost my bunny suit i just noticed that what the wait can i like get rid of this nope what if i you don't get hurt by this do you you don't get hurt by the gloop oh oh i gotta than that seems way better than the first level it's yeah it's fine um at this at this game's worst it's like really obtuse and like uninteresting at its best it's like fine like like the really the the biggest issue i'm running into so far is that it just does not feel good to play like it's not like the the core the core interaction that you have with the game is moving around and jumping and your suit powers and none of them feel particularly good uh and every once in a while they feel just like egregiously bad do you think they have time to fix it i mean i don't know i i i don't i doubt they care to fix it because i don't think i don't think when it comes to like th this kind of stuff is the you get right you know like this is the stuff you get right right off the bat you know like like that like when you're hopefully when you're making a game you want to get your core down down pat so i figure as hard as it might be to believe this is kind of just what they wanted it to be like um and whatever remaining time they have left needs to go to other places like i wouldn't want them to have to go back and re what the is bye i wouldn't want them to have to go back and like restructure this game from its core um like what a month before launch so yeah no i don't i think this is the best we're getting and again again if you want to play the demo please play it i i i encourage you to try it not just because it's a experience um but also there's a chance you'll like it and i think that's great i think that's great i there are good things here i think visually this game is super interesting if nothing else you can say this game is unique um as a very clear sense of like soul and creativity to it which is really cool i i dig that i admire that in and of itself yeah the music's great everything about the presentation of this game is is fantastic i love it um it's just i i i don't enjoy playing it um but that might not be the case for you like that is clearly that is up to you so do with it what you will i say kind of dig the vibes yeah the vibes are great the vibes are super good [Music] this sheep costume like this sheep costume on a point scale like brought this game up by like a single point in and of itself any game that has a costume this adorable it's like like oh like it's a you know it's all right like i'll allow it you know like i'll i'll allow it if you can if you can give me this kind of this kind of cute i'll allow it holy moly yeah yeah and from a stream perspective we are running into the issue where like as the game [Music] reaches that level where it's like okay this is just kind of fine you know uh i see it becomes a less interesting stream inherently there's not a lot to laugh at but the game isn't like particularly good enough to like warrant super engaged discussion so that's what i'm struggling with right now mostly [Music] that one boss fight was good i liked it it was way too short but i mean it was introductory so i'll give that a pass you know we'll see how it is in full context that was nice hey i'm not i'm not even one to particularly enjoy boss fights but i think like running into something that was like as soundly structured as that boss fight was like a it was like really refreshing for me i found i found it really appealing you know what you know what i'm also realizing might be contributing to the fact that this level feels a little bit better there's no goddamn warping [Laughter] you notice that here we go this again [Laughter] i love the fail animations wait you did it i think i think the best way to do those is just to fail them right off the bat entirely on purpose because they have custom fail animations and it's the best ever and they yeah and they still say you was right in front of all this game needed to be a good game was gratuitous violence yes oh you can't jump with it though which is really disappointing [Music] no you can't jump with this suit because this suit does not intrinsically have a jump in its use case scenario once again i will redirect you to the controls list uh yeah any any jumps that you have are tied to a suit power and they automatically activate when you press the button so technically there is no jump button there is a suit power button some like most of the suit powers jump alongside doing their power but some of them don't and for the ones that don't including the first even remotely good feeling power-up in the game you can't jump there's like there's literally no excuse for it like i'm sorry i i feel like that like phrasing it that way is harsh i swear like you have oh you have all of these buttons and you have buttons that aren't even being used like the directional buttons not like not even to mention how many of those buttons did not need to be the same thing best suit but no jump so it can never reach its full potential wait did i accidentally oh my god i accidentally replaced the pumpkin what the wait i swear i changed to the i swear i changed the fox before i switched out right yeah this is happening did i actually donated five dollars the term violence is not the answer does not apply to it's totally accessible this game is kind of up i yeah no i i will never i will never concede to the excuse that something being made for kids is justification for it to be half-baked or poorly put together or poorly thought out um and you know this is a like and this isn't even like a case where it's like you know on like nick jr or whatever where it's like oh no this is solely specifically only meant for children adults are not meant to get literally anything out of this like like it's literally unexpected for adults to get anything out of this whereas with something like this like yeah it's a cutesy like cartoon game but like you know that adults are gonna play this like like like come on like you you know that adults are gonna play this especially adults who have followed yujinaka's career for like a lot of his life um and a lot of their lives and like have have you know been invested in his work like that that you like you cannot tell me that is at least somewhat an expectation on top of that even if that were the case that does not give you any excuse to not like properly think out your your game mechanics and you know this isn't like this isn't even me saying that this game wasn't thought out i just don't like the conclusions that they came to so i don't know like i like this like and this is this this this applies to every what the is going on by the way this applies to everything um imo from like cartoons to movies to video games like anything of the sort like i oh you know what i have the punching ability i probably need to start punching some oh wait no no no the gears the gears the gears i completely forgot for just a second all right uh sorry i was distracted by the the talk um oh my god okay um why wait wait why is it i have to do it this would even argue not so because freddy fish five has the issue where it just it does not let you figure anything it does not let you figure anything out by yourself this game is a little too obtuse freddy fish five's issue is not that it's obtuse it's that it's uh overbearing um anyway i was gonna say like i i liked like i feel like the argument of why do you care it's just for kids comes from the same place that like uh the sentiment of like why are you criticizing this movie it's not like every movie has to be citizens kane comes from like that is such a like like that is that's such a dishonest way to respond to criticism you know like like that that is such a like an anti-discussion like anti-communication [Music] anti-like education i would even say way to like think about stuff and talk about stuff you know it's a non-argument yeah exactly it comes it comes from nothing but a desire to shut discussion down you know like it's not actually contributing to a discussion it's shutting it down because someone does not want to hear the discussion in the first place it's it's completely in bad faith similar to the it's just for kids why like why does it have to meet a certain standard of quality or like why do you care that it meets a certain standard of quality caring isn't bad like wanting kids to have like well thought out um well put together content is not a bad thing um i think there's definitely a line you know you don't have to like be a like a crusader about it like to the point where you're like actively compromising your social life or like the feelings of others or whatever like obviously you know everything in moderation this this comes this comes with a very implied sense of nuance that i'd hope you'd you know pick up on in good faith if you're
