Installing snow tracks on a sport UTV

on us all right well that's pretty cool it's definitely warm in there all right i had this glass replaced it was like a little over 300 bucks the place is supposed to pay for it though and this is tempered glass so that should be way stronger all right a load of stuff going up to camp you ready buddy come on good boy [Music] all right it's winter up here shut this kind of takes two you gotta pull that out a little bit oh wait [Applause] [Music] all right the plan right now is to put a set of snow tracks on this kawasaki so they're going to replace the tires i actually got two sets of them here i tried putting on this set the other night at my buddy's house but realized it wasn't gonna happen without making a bunch of parts this set is supposed to go right on it so i i thought i liked those better but now i'm realizing i think i like these better and especially if i don't have to do anything to put them on so i think i'm the first person to put a set of tracks on this model utv so let's uh see how it no goes [Music] it's rotated [Music] the reason why you're trying to take that off is there's not enough room to get that in there and start you're at a wrong angle [Music] so they got a level [Music] [Music] much of a difference did that make today in that dump truck [Music] all right so this bracket right here for whatever reason it's hitting right there and right there i guess i'm gonna try to trim it like right there i'm honestly thinking it's because of how worn down my brake pads are because it has the whole caliper shifted over this way you know which is fine that's what they're supposed to do as it wears but i think when the guy designed this he didn't take that into account it needs brake pads but i mean it should fit regardless of the condition of the brake pads all right not set up pretty deep right there [Music] i got it so that's what it was hitting enough room to get that in there it's tight same thing up top realizing this side has the same issue it is it's hitting the caliper and actually putting the brakes on look at that that's locked up solid yeah same issue spending 20 minutes trying to get these lugs started it's like still hitting i think i got that who designed this thing like there's not enough room like the socket is jammed against that sprocket [Music] so this bumper i didn't crash i just the last time i got that messed up i went way too fast through this drainage ditch and pretty much jumped into like a solid wall but it's not because i didn't steer good i yeah cody hit that windshield harder [Music] [Music] looking good again the idea is that should make it quieter and warmer especially in the back that i sealed up a big hole so i didn't really film it but side lights backlight so nice factory looking switches rear lights side lights look at that that's gonna be so much nicer in the dark up right that is too and that's uh that's powered as well so it's not like there's no batteries not to change [Music] yeah yeah it's gonna be sick yeah [Music] so yeah this is nice in this thing put this glass enclosure in the heat so this thing's working good with these tracks i mean it goes anywhere it gears it down a little bit too much [Music] nothing goes anywhere this is not liking this ice under the snow yeah sure you get a shot of something i don't know all right that would have been cool here you're doing the side hill stuff i think it just it does it does anything yep so [Music] thugs were a good move i think see my speedometer says 60. but this feels more like high 20s maybe low 30s i mean it still feels pretty fast this interior light is nice now look at that yeah we got a bagel little yellow lab dude this is nice in here isn't it we bought that groomer last year at the very end of the season didn't get to use it so we just started off green how nice that does here's that hill that's been uh interesting all year let's see how this does it i think we got it yep and we are up here and those cheap solar lights are pretty good look at that i like that [Music] so [Music] i've been out cruising around in this thing in the dark and the snow there's some deep stuff here too [Music] there's a lot of drifts which are certainly interesting tracks they're great i've been running them a while but the problem is they just gear the machine down too much this isn't acceptable look so if i hold it on 60 and it here's the speedometer what does that say at 60 miles an hour i'm actually going 27. you know they're good but that's not acceptable [Music] [Music] it looks like a track bracket came off did that just happen oh the track itself has been everything's been difficult well now this has been and this has been was that ditch hard or something or it didn't seem hard but i mean i just noticed it now but i think you keep running it but [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] that stump screwed me up earlier in the years look at that oh that's a pain that's not good no not really no it's going great [Music] i broke this stupid plastic wheel right off oh boy yeah it broke that wheel and once the wheel broke the track came right off [Music] that's not good how are we gonna get this thing out of here i mean does it still drive or not i mean it's moving [Music] [Music] all right so cody took advantage of that broken track and decided he wanted to check out this hiking trail so luckily i got that tracking collar on i'm just following your giant footprints so we got to check out this hiking trail yeah yeah buddy it's a little annoying now so no it's pretty nice up here huh did you have a nice hike i mean you probably ran 15 miles today already or more just uh got this down to the road and uh i wonder how long it was like that yeah i don't know about these camzo tracks i mean [Music] just cheap plastic wheels [Music] i mean we could just keep driving this right i mean it's already all messed up so i don't know buddy it's getting pretty loud should we see why well that would explain that uh i'll at least go back down if i back up now [Music] oh [Music] look at that let's jump [Music] yeah yeah uh [Music] a little bit more oh [Music] i'm in the club groomer right now i've never run this thing before but man this thing is wild like you got to use a lot of strength to make it steer [Applause] [Applause] all right cody what's your take on that situation right there it's kind of broken huh man i don't know about this i bought this thing brand new she ain't looking too new anymore all right i'm not that impressed with these camzo tracks the uh look at these plastic wheels blowing right off of there what else we got so we run that sprocket too [Music] [Music] so [Music] just like that so [Music] streaks for this thing from kawasaki where like over 400 bucks i got normally i'm not a fan of aftermarket anything but i don't want to spend 400 bucks for breaks huh i think that'll [Music] so [Music] dad plastic welded or stitches um yeah what only happened because the track flipped up this goes to that so the original holes ahead i betcha all right the plan is to put these tracks on the issue is they do not fit but let's try to make them fit okay these are the brackets for the kamzos lower that down please [Music] [Music] set of washers space that out the part number for those nothing uh [Music] [Applause] so they're getting pretty far away from it yeah this should technically be down all the way because then the tracks are sitting level figuring this out i think it's low now it does doesn't it yeah yeah these tracks actually lower it quite a bit this had 31 inch tires and now it's technically on i mean we got like kind of two things going on like one like the angle let's see how far out that's the width of this bar so that bar was meant for polaris ranger i guess that's not as wide as this thing let me just put a bunch of lights up they call these things a quad burst better job photographing it all right so a few weeks later here and it's getting late into march there's not much snow it doesn't look like we're getting much more i'm sure i could make these tracks fit on here here's my concern with these i like that they have a bigger drive sprocket and stuff is made out of metal and they seem heavier duty built the problem is with the ground clearance um essentially that's like a 21 inch tire on there because we're rolling on the actual sprocket this machine was meant to have 30 ones i even had 33s on it i don't think it's worth moving forward with this track system they just make the machine sit too low you know these camzo tracks they at least fit on here problem is the sprockets are too small so you're losing too much speed all these parts are just made out of delicate plastic you know that's for paying six thousand dollars for this set i can't recommend these because this look that's just cheap plastic um they should have to uh recall these and build that out of aluminum or something something stronger so if someone else wants to design these better you know the market is there for the idea is sound but not out of delicate plastic so like let these people know do a better job so right let's get it back together [Music] it's snowing pretty good let's see how these tires do [Music] [Music] well we actually got some decent snow coming down but i'm gonna kind of end
