[Music] as you can see these tiles are are in interlocking so they come like this um I've already made my first cut on a uh 8 in wet saw um really simple um no special blade just continuous Rim blade I used for my kitchen tile so to get my measurements for this corner here I simply made a cardboard template and then I'm going to take that and transfer it onto my tile like that before I make my cuts so the reason I made the template is it didn't seem like my backsplash was completely Square um but it turns out it was pretty square but I used the temp template anyway and I just used a a Sharpie to to mark that onto the tile before I make my cut so this is probably really Overkill cuz the angle is so small um it turns out they was a slight angle um to my backsplash um so I've just used some uh shims I got it Lowe's in there and I have a little bit of an angle set on my uh thingy bob there whatever it's called this might be Overkill too um but I use this to do my papers and it works really well for full protection [Music] and uh there you have it um tear that off and we'll go check to see if it fits I figured out what really happened was this guy right here um didn't get cut it was it just ended there and that's why it's just a fraction shorter than the rest it's a small piece just like uh I think that one so I'm going to go back and take like an eighth off of there and an eighth off of there and that should even things out so I think that's looking better I am going to call that good okay so here's the next fun part um the the long part of my backsplash is 60 in and I'm going to do it six segments High because that uh they come in uh 18 segments high so I just split one of them into thirds and they easily mesh together um my other leftover pieces were not so hard to get them to align properly so I had to take this aligned and then I had to take this off the bottom here cut it and now I got to move it up to here to make that fit I had to take another piece like that to make that fit okay so then I have my 60 in so the old adage you measure twice cut once I knew I had a uh 5ft vanity right that's 60 in I went back inside and measured and it's actually 61 in plus um I think my vanity is 60 but the countertop is 61 in plus I had about a quarter inch Gap um in my wall so what I really need is 61 and A4 in so when I come back out um to measure I I found out that uh I've repositioned things so 61 and a quarter comes to the end of my workbench and look at that it's perfect so I don't think I'm going to have to um cut the other end um I'll wait and cut this end um after I get everything back uh or or mattered on the wall just to make sure that I uh get the exact right cut at the very end this is the thin set I'm going to use um it's kind of fancy for Mosaic and glass but you could probably use any regular thin set uh the sponge will be for the grout later and then I have a notched TR here this is a v- notch you can use one that's maybe a little bit bigger than this but this is what I have and then uh down here I've got my uh mixer hooked up to my drill that could be done by hand this might save me a little time I got my first piece up I took my uh putty knife here and scraped some of the extra thin set out between the cracks um just to make sure the uh grout has somewhere to go when we do that later then I took a wet rag and I just kind of uh removed any excess thin set so it doesn't dry out of the tiles okay the tiles are on and I think it's looking pretty good made my Final Cut everything turned out fine at the end one thing you'll notice is uh so I used half of a 10B bag of that thin mix um I've got a whole bunch left over so probably could have done you know third of a bag and still been good any lesson that would be hard to mix so now I've got my grout mixed up and I'm going to start applying it by the way after some uh research um I I learned use an unsanded grout um a sanded grout is found to um scratch any glass tiles and a unsanded grout um will will get in between the cracks better so I'm going to try this actually using my my rubber uh grout finisher here but this is going to work pretty good just to press that right into the cracks I think you want to go up and down and make sure everything gets pressed in there real nice okay now I've got my sponge um wet it down and ring it out really good and I'm just going to start gently wiping a little bit more of the excess away probably could have the sponge a little bit wetter but uh this is the uh that's the idea right there [Music] oh
