welcome to fridge chat now today I've got a funny feeling about this week though I got another it's going to be great and it's because of this hello tomorrow something we flew that we have never done before in eight years and unfortunately for us a little bit of this you know it haven't got a hat I am by hat no that's not fair but before we can get to all of that we need to find out what the theme is for the week [Applause] here's what's going to happen dangling precariously above my head is a mystery box in that box is a mystery ingredient that ingredient will be a kink towards this week's food when we know what our theme is and we're going to make a set of videos using your help but right now and not any time before James is going to lower that box a little bit further gone James that is it heavy I said it feels weighting not a good job James thank you mate Oh put the Box in a box it might be Tupperware week I hope good oh it's half a lunch it's a crap ton just leave it it is a crap lunch now you may notice that you've got a really awful lung I'm writing this is makes lunch plates again Oh a hat like that are you guys okay yeah we need to work with the community and research all things lunch and make it really good again because lunch was once the best meal of the day and then at the end of the week you guys are going to go into a battle and it's going to be a lunchbox battle oh I've already got I definitely got the biggest lunchbox here I feel like brownie points are going to be awarded for lunch and probably puff away oh wow let's get our lunch on now it goes without saying that here assorted we are all about quality control and what I mean by that is that we test all of our recipes and when we tested this particular recipe Barry Taylor actually said this is probably the best sandwich I've had this year petering according to research with eat 200 a year all right okay fair so probably the best sandwich this year what it is is an amazing they get kind of roll with crispy Creole spice shrimp and amazing dressing and crisp salad this is how you make an unbelievable po-boy so it starts simply grab yourself some raw prawns they could typically be shrimp if you're in other parts of the world and we're going to toss them in coarse polenta I'm just going to give it a wonderful crisp Innis Creole spice which is combination of oregano and thyme and salt and black pepper and paprika a bit of heat from cayenne and some extra garlic powder toss it all together and then fry it in a really hot you should reach across phosphorus in 20 languages not cleaner yeah but you could do we use aubergine you could use eggplant it's okay don't worry so I'm just saving the comment which always say can I use shrimp by Hanks well I'm just anticipating stupid comment repellent now this has taken a turn for the worst what you don't want to do is overcook the prawn so what you do want to have is a really hot Panks you want to get them crispy you guy said it's the crispy fried shrimp or prawns that make this so good smoking hot pan shouldn't go in listen to that sizzle off this is amazing while we're waiting on these to cook on the other side we've given them a flip we can make the most amazing sauce and I'll cover you guys such things like Ron yeah ranch was a big thing that you said we're going to take that influence not ignore it but make something similar so what I think is good about ranch that's like tang from either buttermilk or sour cream so we're going half sour cream half mayo the herbs is right Oregon oh and a pinch of smoked paprika smoking its Herbie it's tangy a bit of spice from Tabasco and then we'll see mistake okay happy with that lots of crispiness a little bit of sort of charring especially on the underside when the pans super hot they're the bits we want the crisp the char are almost black and shrimp do you mean burnt end no wrestling is a blackened a mincer whilst you've got ourselves a hot pan give it a quick wipe out and we do that other thing that you guys did you just the bread or the forget or the long roll it's so important and it should be toasted absolutely you guys said crispy on the outside super soft on the inside a what was the name of the actual grid that we were suggested it's a Louisiana ready Anna again is it like a submarine decide well we're not in Louisiana so it's really difficult to get that we've gone for a sub roll and we're going to toast it so it is crispy on the outside and really soft on the inside as well same characteristics although we are in London East London and you can't get a Louisiana roll from here peppers yes let's talk about Creole your slap so it's a specific type of cuisine oh well it's all the cilium please do so it's developed in Louisiana in the early 1800s actually before the u.s. bought Louisiana from the French so before that happened Louisiana was basically a hub of loads of different cultures and ethnicities you had French Spanish Portuguese Greek Indian Caribbean yeah like loads of things and that's sort of an influence from all the best fits of those cultures Creole cooking sort of all so that's spicy yeah sorry more smoking sort and also you had like the southern US influences as well on top of all that eleven point two million dollars before you are that's how much it takes to buy Louisiana or something anytime is doing quite well to all do grow any point he's working his home for though what I like as this series to progressed everyone's up their game and not just wanting to put the food that wants it understand where it's come from and all of your suggestions and what makes it amazing helps with the recipe but you've gone out your way to read a Wikipedia page I love that last thing before we can throw this sandwich together and that is the salad the crisps are some people saying slaw so we're going to do some very very fine julienne of white cabbage we're going to crisp romaine lettuce and avocado which might not be traditional but in this new day we love it so I thought I'd take it upon myself to look up some lunch facts now that lunch is lunch bags now lunch is quite a broad topic what I did find was apart from some dubious history of where lunch was first invented and things like that was that lunchbox fats are a thing is that true so are you making the thing that parents put facts into their kids lunch boxes so they get out a sandwich and they also pull out a piece of paper and it says something along the lines of these you can use it really jaws is the most common name for a goldfish so I'm not gonna say this is the best sandwich for lunch box I don't know how well this is going to travel because we're going to pile so much into it but for me this is the type of lunch that you make yourself on a Saturday when you've got time and you're like you know I'm going to treat myself I'm going to make lunch great again plenty of shrimp look this is the black and bits we want Jamie thinks they're bird we think they're delicious lettuce cabbage even crispier [Music] that right there is our take on a po-boy Creole style with shrimp or prawn sorting [Music] I'm sensing a problem well no no no that's why I've got a knife no we only have a half a sandwich let's wash down a little the guys go for it get stuck in there your motions clearly saw what form boom it's all about texture and then you get the flavor it's so so so good now has got just the right amount of heat to it we're like a kick from the creole spices as a heat that stays with you if you're like overpowering into a just because of the avocado and the mayor and the sour cream it just measures it without s crunchy its crispy its soft it's spicy it's Creole it's the best and you know what another dish in this series with cleanser that you've enjoyed Eric quickly epic sandwich you saw how long it takes cook it's super simple you can get all the details in the recipe down says now they
