[Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] hey welcome back to my channel if you're new here my name is emma and it has been a while since i've sat down and filmed the video so hello i'm back i'm really excited to be back i have lots to chat with you about hopefully i'll get to chat with you about them all today don't know if this video will be super brief or if i'll get to like actually share everything i want to share because girlfriend is currently sleeping and our nap situation today is not the best but we're gonna do our best so first of all i am back i took a little maternity leave from posting here on youtube just to really enjoy the first like month or so of being a mom i haven't really filmed a video since the beginning of december so it's been a while today just kind of wanted to sit down and catch up with you since it's been a while and give you a little mini update of kind of what's been going on since you last heard from me the last video i uploaded was my third trimester vlog and obviously a lot has happened since then so i want to update you a little bit and just have a really chill i don't know i didn't feel like i could just jump back into it you know like i needed to have some kind of like transitional video to talk with you about what you've missed anyway i'm already rambling before we get started if you are not already i would love for you to subscribe let's start at the beginning shall we grab a cup of coffee get comfortable i'm not pregnant anymore um if you don't follow me over on instagram and then you would not know or if you didn't watch my third trimester vlog which if you did not watch that vlog go watch it because at the end i kind of gave you a little cliffhanger a little sneak peek of how everything went down or at least how it started um and i am no longer pregnant i had my daughter and i kind of wanted to talk about that as well not necessarily like birth even though i might talk about that a little bit i just kind of wanted to talk about like what that means going forward for my channel what that means for my daughter all that kind of stuff so on december 9th i got induced and i included that at the end of my third trimester vlog i ended up having a birth experience that was nothing like i anticipated thank goodness we are now both super healthy we're doing really well but there it was a lot i do have a birth vlog i've been asked a bunch if i'm gonna post a birth vlog or a birth story i kind of like condensed it to what i feel comfortable sharing um i ended up giving birth on december 11th so i was in labor a full two days i will be uploading that soon probably won't be sharing all of the like nitty gritty details just because it was honestly a very traumatic event for me and my family um but long story short i had my daughter on december 11th her name is jordan claire and i did post a little announcement picture over on instagram so again if you don't follow me you wouldn't have seen that um where i announced her name and yeah now she's over a month old honestly when you're seeing this she might be two months old which is really sad i feel like she's growing up so fast she already looks so so different than when she was born like she looks the same but she doesn't look like a fresh little newborn anymore you know like she looks a little bit older and it honestly makes me so sad because i feel like it's just going so fast um but at the same time i cannot like remember what my life was like before i was her mom you know like i feel like i was just created to be her mom and even though it's been a huge adjustment as having kids is a huge adjustment obviously and it's the hardest thing it's so much work it's so much of your energy and your time and it is all it's a lot um it's the best thing we've ever done and so and this is a great example she will not sleep so um i'm just gonna try to like hold her and let her sleep and my battery's about to die oh my gosh you guys this is my life now this is my life now okay please hold up again let's try this again i feel like this is a great example of how my life has been the last couple months just literal chaos i'm a little bit nervous for life when i have to go back to school soon um just because it's been so much and i this is like my full-time job right now i'm not having to worry about anything else i haven't done youtube i haven't done school and it's just a little bit overwhelming to think about like adding all that to my plate here soon but we'll figure it out so i guess with that kind of what you can expect going forward i'm gonna try to be as consistent as i was i realized the first sunday that like i didn't have a video go up and i started my leave that was the first sunday i had not uploaded since i started youtube a year and a half ago i had never missed a sunday that was like such a big accomplishment for me is being consistent that's something i feel like i was really proud of and that's something that i'm just not sure is going to happen in future i am going to definitely try to upload every sunday still i still want to vlog at school if i can um but in terms of what this channel will be about and what it will look like i definitely want to kind of keep all my content the same um i don't want to necessarily transition this into like a family channel or a lifestyle channel even i debated that for a really long time but teaching is why i started this channel and i really miss vlogging in the classroom and so i think that's really what i'm going to focus on um is all of the teaching content and trying to just share my life at school more so than at home i will still sprinkle in some lifestyle stuff here and there obviously but i'm not going to make this channel like about my daughter and kind of along with that i'm going to be really picky as well about the things that i choose to share and i really don't want to show her that much like i don't want to just put a camera in her face and have her all over the internet even though she's the cutest thing in the whole world the internet can be a really scary place and one that's not what my channel is about and two i just want to protect her privacy and her safety and that's my number one concern and i didn't really know what i wanted to do about that before she got here like before i really became a mom and now that i have her i have this sense of like mama bear mode where i don't want to share too much and i don't want to put anyone at risk here especially her that's not to say that you will never see her face or i'm gonna keep her face hidden and that's not the focus of my channel so just wanted to say that that's kind of what i've decided i had people ask me about that in the past like what i plan to do we're all doing pretty well i feel like this is just such a big transition yeah i feel like we're kind of trying to just still figure out how to be parents and having a newborn is really dang hard there's a million opinions on what's right and what's wrong but at the end of the day like you have to go with your gut and what you feel like is best for your kid and that's a hard thing to feel like it's all on you you can take all the advice in the world but there's so many different opinions that at the end of the day like you just have to do what you feel is right and it's all on your shoulders and that's a big responsibility to be responsible for the well-being of a human obviously we knew this but it's just it's a big task to just get handed i am finally feeling fully recovered from birth because obviously that's just physically a very big thing that happens it's super weird being so pregnant and being pregnant for so long and then like all of a sudden you're not i don't miss being pregnant in the slightest um yeah there's that i am actually really missing teaching i definitely didn't think that i would i've tried really hard while i've been home to let school go and really just unplug completely and i feel like i did a really good job at that for the first month or so and then i really started to miss it um which i know as soon as i go back i'm gonna regret saying that and i'm gonna miss being at home i'm well aware but i just i like i really miss my kids and i miss routine honestly like i miss getting ready every day and i miss going and having something that i'm really good at because motherhood some days i just don't feel like i'm very good at it and i miss teaching sometimes and feeling like i had something to go to that i knew i would be good at and getting to see my students every day i did get to see them recently their last day before winter break i got to facetime them and show them jordan and let them like ask me questions and just see their little faces and tell them to have a good break and that made me really miss them and kind of like snapped me back to reality a little bit and reminded me what i have waiting for me yeah i miss them and i'm excited to go back soon but i'm also really grateful for this time at home with her so thank you so much to all of you who have reached out and just let me know that you were
