I Tried WEIRD Italian Food

hi i'm harper we are in ava's hometown of dasa calabria which i'm very excited about because it means i get to eat a whole bunch of amazing comfort food today is halloween yeah so because when we were in america you gave me all the strange food that i can imagine now it's my turn not to give you food those strange italian food that makes you completely uncomfortable so this is your revenge huh a little bit strange italian food yes basil because italian food delicious i find it hard to believe that there can be anything that strange in a country where 90 of the food is some combination of flour and olive oil and cheese and tomato but i'll let you take a crack at it good luck [Music] as a first dish i'm going to cook squeezing pasta squidding pasta theater that's not that strange i've seen lots of squinting pasta no arpel what you saw is not the real deal the real deal is what i'm going to cook now [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] usually you see the pasta made with squid ink but today we are going to use the squid ink for our sauce [Music] yeah this is nothing like the squid ink pasta i've seen before it's black carpet it's very black it looks like crude oil it looks like it looks like a science experiment no i feel this is very very good you can use the squid ink to make your own pasta but we prefer to make it as a sauce to use it as a sauce so be courageous it's a little scary it's just black it doesn't look like it should be edible okay bon appetito oh that just doesn't look healthy it's unbelievable good is it really it is the fish soup i definitely taste the fish it is quite fishy is my mouth black yes your tongue yes my tongue see i would be lying if i said i like that i'm sorry i'm sorry i i'm sure some people will like it it's very very fishy i don't know what to say it's very fishy i love squeezing pasta that's a really good halloween pasta now that i think about it dude because it's blossom you are just digging in huh i love it so i honestly can't tell if i don't like the taste very much or if it's just psychologically messing with me because it looks so weird i honestly can't tell finally i find something that he doesn't like that's true for everyone who says that i just pretend to like everything nope not a big fan of this not for me and let's be honest i'm pretty happy because if he doesn't like it means that i think it's old that was definitely a pretty strange dish but something tells me you have something even stranger up your sleeves yes pizza pizza what's strange about pizza [Music] if you were to ask me what the least italian pizza could possibly be my first answer of course would be pineapple pizza but my second answer would be pizza with french fries and hot dogs in italy i need to say that it's pretty pretty common every pizzeria as a pizza like that and it's one of the pizza that usually kids eat when they go in a pizzeria i i imagine so because this is like the kind of pizza that five-year-old harper would invent well you know what is very good and it's not strange our pet today potato some pizza is not strange it's strange to an american like we do some weird things to pizzas but i've never seen a pizza with french fries on it sad by the person who likes a fruit on pizza yeah i don't get why pineapple on pizza doesn't work but this does do you want to try it and then you will discover by yourself yes i do want to try it pizza scissors at the ready this is so weird this is like the kind of pizza that i feel like you would find in a weird restaurant in america and get very angry about maybe it's not my favorite pizza because usually i prefer a normal margherita my first french fry pizza okay that's not bad no that's good though it's not bad it's still very conceptually weird to me but i can't deny that it tastes good so if you need to do something strange of your on your pizza please put potatoes that they are not strange they are perfect i feel like it's missing some ketchup there's like a drizzle of ketchup on top that'd be good there is the tomato sauce use ketchup instead have you ever seen a pizza with ketchup i've never seen a pizza with french fries on it well that was a strange food but i really liked it you have any other weird foods yes and the third one is weird it's strange it's can be also scary a little bit now i'm a little bit frightened [Music] oh mamma mia [Music] is that what i think it is it's what you think it is [Music] yeah this is strange this is good it's obviously a head of some kind what kind of head is it is the head of the small goat oh the head of the small goat good and it's also complete uh which means uh with the brain the tongue the teeth yeah yeah i see some teeth i see some you know it's uh it's ah this time yes yeah you know i've eaten some weird animal body parts in my day but it's one thing when it's just by itself on a plate you can sort of remove in your mind the idea of where it came from a little bit and just taste it for what it is this is like you know it's uh it's smiling at me maybe it was a smiling man not now its tongue is like when you kill an animal and you are going to cook the animal the things that you can do to respect the animal that you killed is eat every part of the animal i agree in theory but it's a little bit different when you actually have the head on your plate looking at you actually he hasn't the eyes so a miracle i'm surprised the eyeballs aren't still in there no this not but sometimes i saw some with the eyes inside how do i even eat this okay the first thing because this is another of my favorite dish so i'm an expert at eating this is a start from the brain that is absolutely delicious oh there it is no you don't need to cut it just yeah it just pops right out i see because it's so soft and think that this is one of the specialty of french cuisine not just good but also fancy fancy i could see this being served at a conan the barbarian themed restaurant bon appetito hmm the brain is so creamy that let's be honest if you didn't know that louis brain you will love it it's true it does taste really good it tastes really good the texture is amazing i just can't help but feel like i'm eating this animal's thoughts no in this moment he's not thinking anything may be served by itself not you know directly out of the skull it's freaky but it's good bless you thank you that's the ghost of the the goat trying to escape your body what else do we need now is the time of the tongue the tongue yes i've had tongue before and it's not bad but when you have to cut around its teeth to get it it's just in your mind and the goat's mind is in my belly bon appetito okay and now there is the chick and it's also roasted though yeah it's very crispy looking it's crispy actually it looks really good it is very good bon appetit i can now say i know the best part of the goat head it's the cheek it's the brain well i was skeptical that there would be very much in italian cuisine that i would find strange or scary uh but you succeeded you succeeded once again italian friends if you think any other strange food that arthur should try please let us know because i
