I Skated Tony Hawk's PRIVATE Halfpipe!

probably the most excited i've been in ever to film a video um so we're with our friend rick thorne and we're following him to tony hawk inc all right so we just got into the exclusive warehouse [Music] i'll never have this opportunity again to skate with tony hawk on the same head but he's insane [Music] 20 years in the making [Music] [Music] okay okay what's up everyone we're filming a really really epic video today probably the most excited i've been in ever to film a video um so we're with our friend rick thorne dude how are you hi hello how are you good good and we're following him to tony hawk inc yes you guys heard that correctly tony hawk's private skate facility um and they're going to be doing i don't want to even give it away i'll let him explain it but this is crazy this is like life goals happening in front of my face [Music] all right so we just got into the exclusive warehouse tony hawk's warehouse but uh i had to go to the bathroom so bad on our way here i had to pee in the car because we were outside in the parking lot for like a minute and i couldn't hold it and i ripped my pants you can't tell though so it's cool all right so we're with professional bmx legend rick thorne and he's going to show tell us exactly what's going on here all right so we're at the upper we're at the bird nest basically tony's had this spot for a long time this is absolutely the best fruit ramp ever and i've ridden a lot of ramps this one is amazing so listen me and tony we did doubles on his gigantic skatepark tour 20 years ago in mission valley at the ymca in san diego or mission valley you know down by san diego and i went like this high and i ran right into him and i slammed and he slammed we ain't done doubles since and that was 20 years ago so the plan today is to do doubles me go over tony and tony go over me so let's see how this turns out this is no no that one wasn't so what what gigantic skatepark tour was it tony hawk's gigantic skatepark which which year was it the one that bam was on by chance or a different one i did i did all of them but i did i did parts of them like in other words like there'd be east coast west coast kind of thing okay okay and then we did some overseas but like this one was down near san diego by mission valley the old skate park and it was a ymca it was called mission valley and so at the time they built bigger vert ramps we were used to riding maybe like 12 and that's when was bigger so i just didn't judge my speed right i couldn't get my pump and who started doing the bigger ones why was that because yeah they people say like an east coast 12 foot is actually 13 or 14 or is that i mean through the years it went like we started eight for quarters and then through the years it was like 10 foot vert ramp and then it went up to like 11 and then 12 and then people started to realize 13 and a half i think i think when people started to do bigger ramps was when like they started doing big air on quarter pipes on the 20-footers and they started to realize that maybe a little bit big [ __ ] you can get a better pump to go a higher air and you have more room to land but the the thing is on this ramp is if you bottom it's hard to get your speed back if you bought them on a 10 foot tall vert ramp you can get your speed back easier this one because it's so far it's just a tall big wall so if you bought them you lose all your speed but this all comes in sections so you could actually take it all apart and put it back together somewhere else i think this is the ramp we use for the uh boom boom hook jam tour because there's a section stacked behind that no but you do you remember tony hawk oh yeah yeah of course they haven't shut up talking about those stacks back there this is the same wrap from the boom boom hook champ they just re-layered it recently with gator skins yeah so i had the gigantic skatepark tour on vhs tapes okay and we used to watch it all the time because i was young at the time but they had we did that tour for two or three years yeah i had one of them i just don't remember what was on them i was a southern california one i had to have been only like nine or eight years old what's crazy is i got a bruise from my ankle to my back and it hurts so bad and then tony bought me a trench coat in las vegas a leather trench coat because i remember the movie suburbia okay everyone's walking down the street i'd say we get the shot we're all pumped out anyhow i was walking and i freaking went to cops told me a mountain bike cops and a trench coat told me to get to the curb and i found something that i had a gun so law makes i was like dude i have a bruise i could barely walk what's up tony i'm gonna raise the forest tell you bro what's up what's up brother how are you good dude how are you doing today there's nobody tucker and his wife nice to meet you we met when i just got set on fire in baldy a few years ago i rode baldy on fire and it was like it was cool yeah i did well it was more like a cave and then but his brothers they used to have a stunt show and he was in town and i thought well maybe he could film us doing doubles so we have a little video sure yeah cool cool awesome i'll just tell them it's been 20 years bro since you did that no since we did this oh yeah this is kind of cool well we did a couple weeks ago but just counting stretch it out dude 20 years two weeks i honestly when you said we were talking we'll just cut that out we'll cut that out we're doing it different though because you're coming from behind so it's it's kind of cool because i'm like and then i you know you're no no no it's yeah no i like it i just okay but what about me what about me going under you on a grind yeah sure so like if i'm just setting a peg saw what's up baby jump in stuff yeah we got to figure that one out because i i think it's always better if we go the same direction got it and so when we go in the same direction you're gonna have to do what i do okay like swoop under me real quick so like i'll go there and go i'll go straight up and down because i'm gonna be going front side right so i'm gonna go straight up and down and you gotta i can do that real good friend of mine he's like you're going down there can i come down and meet tony and i was like sure if you know so we could do our triples all right what's up man yeah so it's going to be me then you and then tony oh yeah yeah welcome he's really good friends with scummy you know you know colin oh yeah and and and the whole crew andy and all right so rick brought me pads and i'll never have this opportunity again to skate with tony hawk on the same handful [Applause] all right here it goes that's true [Music] [Applause] did it again yeah first time i did the channel 20 years in the making yeah wait that was your first time doing that i'm back tony i'm back that was a natural move that dude [Music] [Applause] i never [ __ ] with the channel i've always had a phobia over it sometimes lately i've been like some of these riders come here and they carve eight ten feet bike ride eight eight sheets so it's amazing i'm like the new age guys i'm like i arrive at i'm here 25 is so good all right let me warm this up a little [Music] bit [Music] i'm ready whoa dude no way [Music] that was insane dude that's they're doing it one more time sammy sickest thing ever okay so if you want to do uh if you're going under me i'm going front side i'm going to say you're actually going to do it but i'm going to basically aim for the middle of this wall straight up and down [Music] yeah but i'm not going to you're carving a little not gonna [ __ ] all right but where what are you gonna you're gonna wait over there yeah like basically let me see are you gonna i'd like to is [Music] so they did it like a little mess up kind of thing they're so good that it doesn't seem as dangerous as it actually is but this ramp is like you're risking your life on here i don't know why i even have this on but what no way that was huge that was incredible come from behind yes can't see you so i just have to trust that you're just trusting like you're not even focused it it's always scared of it that's crazy bro if you go high you're gonna go higher over the channel because when you carve it just for your air you go straight up you go higher woof [Music] it was a few feet higher but still dude you imagine being that far off that [ __ ] point no i can't this was already horrible yeah that kind of that's what kind of ended my skateboard or something tony hawk and rick thorne but uh we're here in laguna beach for the last night probably the coolest hotel we stayed at still cheap uh i made him price match me for what it said online because they were trying to charge like an extra forty dollars he wasn't even like weird about it or anything he just knew he got got cause like what was i just gonna book it online and they take ten percent then the hotel would have lost 10 percent smoked them but not really they have a price to get you in the door so i just was like price match it then boy so we're gonna to just uh organize this outside so this is what it's looking like we're like later too yeah all right so this is the hotel right here all right let's check this spot out look at this is the lobby here so this is pretty sweet wearing sunglasses inside though can't see anything portrait though i like this i don't know you have to carry see this place looks cool liking the vibes in here dude yeah so they they actually look like the pictures on the on their website right yeah super cool wait is this for real though see there's a balcony is it yeah it opens for real dude we have the biggest biggest and only balcony in this hotel [Music] [Applause] dude we nailed it look at this [Music] okay that was one of the craziest things we ever got to experience we are actually in florida now and the reason it took us so long to upload the video which is from california is because we are waiting on rick to get his prints together so this is he started writing uh vert again recently and he came up with this idea just to do it never thought that the picture was gonna turn out as good as it did didn't think that he was gonna get prince but he ended up doing it and he has him ready signed by him and tony hawk on his website so if out there for everyone and just say like what an amazing experience once in a lifetime thing and life goal for myself where's your boy i'm sorry i'm just laughing his curse like hello like when he was a very very distinct hello wow our boy he's smart he's he's a grown boy but i would say the whole experience that whole experience proves that dreams do come true if you just have faith in yourself and obviously i didn't do anything of great greatness there that day but the reality is tony hawk and both rick thorne were heroes of mine growing up and the fact that i got to go and ride the halfpipe with them um is just proof that anything can happen it's just such a such a crazy thing yeah that's crazy like i i remember playing i used to love my with my playstation 1 tony hawk's skateboarding game like i used to literally play that just over and over and over again loved it so like i mean that's just surreal even being able to like meet him but more to come it's really late at night so we're tired we're tired that's why i'm in this pooh bear outfit i was just thinking like we're doing an outro for like and i'm gonna poop i hope it has nothing to do with this video but
