hello I am back I'm back in the kitchen this time you can't see that I'm wearing Crocs like you could see in that special behind-the-scenes episode of me making things in the kitchen where we made bread which I really enjoyed but I'm back I figured we would sort of resume where we were where we left off with you know this sort of video we're sitting here trying to make things and you know it's been definitely a weird time to try to create content as everyone in the world is kind of struggling to live their normal life because it's impossible right now anyway I wanted to come in the kitchen and make something not food but a drink and this is a recipe that I thought you guys would like because it blew up on tick-tock which makes me like it too because who doesn't like tick-tock now remember when everyone made fun of tick-tock and now it's just a whole anyone wants to do I don't really have the most creative recipes going on in my life right now there's been a lot of rice and beans some rice some beans two pantry salsa with those rice and beans I'm feeling spicy but the one thing that is consistent in my day these days is coffee when I saw the tick tock coffee I was like how can I get that for me here to put in my mouth so that's what we're gonna do we're gonna make the foamy coffee from tick-tock I don't know exactly why it blew up right now because supposedly it's called dalgona coffee and it originated or originates in South Korea where I think they eat it as a like turn they turned the frothy coffee frothy coffee band name called it they turn the frothy coffee into sort of like a pastry sort of thing I don't know I think anyway there was a BuzzFeed video on it I watched it along with the entire world everyone's been trying to make it there's nothing original about what I'm doing here but I just figured hey I have the ingredients to make this which is a rare thing right now okay I have the ingredients luckily the ingredients are pretty simple you're gonna need instant coffee sugar and water that's literally it that's all you need to make this and then the milk of your choice our instant coffee pictured here yep this one expired in September of 2018 so we'll see what happens I guess that's all the instant coffee in the entire house but supposedly instant coffee is important you can't just use ground coffee something about how that hits and coffee reacts to water or whatever use instant coffee if you have it the more creative and fun thing that we're gonna do today is that we are going to make our own plant milk we're gonna use these cashews to make milk we're gonna make milk y'all okay I don't know how to say that without sounding weird but we're gonna make some cashew milk I have this cheesecloth which I'm going to use to strain it but basically it's pretty simple I mean we're gonna blend up some cashews a little bit of sweetener vanilla in a high-powered blender let it do its thing for a little while and then we're gonna strain it and put in the fridge so I think we should start with the cashew milk so we can throw it in the fridge while we make the dalgona tik-tok coffee so let's get started with that okay what do you think we'll get started grab your high-powered blenders okay hold them to the sky and say yeah it's milk time okay so this is going to be really loud there's no getting around that so I'm just gonna kind of show you and describe how this process is gonna work and then I'll let you enjoy some silence video so you don't have to listen to it I have two cups of raw cashews right here I did not soak them because I choose not to ever soak my cashews because I have a high-powered blender and that's made me very lazy so we have our cashews and we're gonna take two of our four cups of water okay so half of this make sure you spill a lot of it like I just did know how you're supposed to pour out of that pause to clean up your mess and we are gonna blend this for two minutes straight we're gonna just blend blend blend once the two minutes is up we are gonna add the rest of our ingredients so we're gonna add our vanilla our maple syrup which is about a tablespoon two tablespoons salt and a little bit of cinnamon along with the second half of the water so I'm just gonna get blending once we're all done blending and adding everything it should be a relatively smooth milk consistency and we're gonna even make that more fine and smooth by straining it through a cheesecloth so let's get the blending done and then we'll strain [Music] [Music] I wonder what note that is like the high-powered blender what note are we hitting there do you know my perfect pitch people you out there do you know this looks like it is too much milk for this container I didn't plan for this because I didn't know who's gonna make so much goddamn milk but I guess we'll work with it I don't know how to use a cheesecloth I mean this is do I just like I don't know dude I kind of just want to put it on top of this little thing no this is wrong okay new plan we have this larger container and we are going to put the cheesecloth inside and oh I think it has a string so you can tighten it around the rim that's dope okay calm down everybody calm down think you can tie it Oh marbles is excited for this your milk anyway let us strain some milk this is what it looks like very bubbly it's actually kind of warm because it's been blending for so long but here we go oh cheesecloth fell I'm just gonna pour it all the way in and then I'm gonna extract the cheesecloth this is cool dude this is exciting whoa this is wild dude it's like actually straining really well oh god it's coming out the top I'm trying to squeeze it through without making a giant mess by the way if you have cashews in your pantry and you are running out of milk dude you can make cashew milk so easily this is nuts literally this is nuts when the cashew gets milked I need human interaction I'm making cashew milk what do you think that sounds more complicated no the babe is natural I'm just milking some cashews it's cats the cashews time to either milk or get milk okay well we have our milk this actually looks good I'm not gonna taste it till later let's wait let's keep the suspense you know what I mean I'm gonna wipe down the outside of our milk jug we're gonna go refrigerate this so that by the time our frothy tick-tock coffee is done we will have a nice little homemade latte made from scratch actually and two-year-old expired instant coffee which is cool you can do this two ways you can do it the easy smart and convenient way with your stand mixer or come over here come look listen you can do it by hand for no reason other than to suffer on camera so that's what we're gonna do we're gonna what it says I looked it up supposedly 400 whisks you go 400 times that's one that's to 400 times later it's gonna be frothy as [ __ ] just use them no no no no we're suffering here it's not good watch it be better by hand baby yeah no no no we're doing this yeah that's what I'm doing to myself babe this is gonna be by hand and this is gonna be the best damn tick tock copy you've ever had all right let's do it two-year-old expired instant goes in hope four tablespoons of sugar a lot of sugar but whatever and four tablespoons of water let the pain begin actually I'm gonna switch to a different whisk I don't want this we're gonna use this whisk okay because we're serious all right four five six seven I lost count this can't be that hard oh I really hope this coffee isn't discussing it really might be hey babe when instant coffee expires what happens all right we're about to find out this is going well and I think I'm about it I don't know what number am I on are you counting I'm determined to make this good by hands it's actually getting real nice and frothy already I was gonna do an upper body workout today but I think that's all covered now I wish I could count but I'm not counting because it's too many times to count and I don't want to exercise physically and mentally right now but this feels like I'm hit 400 like think about it this way ready we'll do 10 really quick 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 that was 10 that was so quick all I need to do this out 40 times I feel like I've done that I can't tell if that's done yet I don't think it's done I think it should be a lot lighter and fluffier so let's keep going should we get the hand mixer oh my arm is so tired I've been mixing this whole time do you want to come in and see all right first step milk I made cashew milk I'm gonna try it first it's really good it's a little warm but it's a latte so it's fine it's really good for this look how fluffy it is so now we're gonna take a nice spoon right what hey hey boy we're gonna pop it down oh [ __ ] [ __ ] look at that dude tell me that dude tell me this isn't bomb I did this by hand I wrote my name give a straw on you on your person you're supposed to like a mix it around but what about Pinterest we have to do a thumbnail alright on three say it's milk time one two three yo its milk time was that good well here it is this is actually this is our tick-tock coffee do you feel tick tock eat this from tick-tock do you know what country this is from this originates in South Korea yeah take a bite I wanna drink it but you gotta mix it around but what about how pretty it looks actually I think it's hard look it's not moving it's a prop butter okay try it try it you have to mix it around that's so yummy okay well the instant coffee expired in September of 2018 in Spain oh I have a spoon this is an age-appropriate spoon that's visually ASMR what you're doing it's good baby Oh three that up oh that's so tasty hmm it's so like light I don't want to be part of no that's a secret it is really good especially for a 20-18 coffee the instant coffee expired in September of 2018 that's I'm saying it's like a it's fine probably I wash my hands don't worry this is actually really good for only four tablespoons of sugar per serving it's pretty good I think you should try this at home at your house go ahead well I hope you enjoyed my tik-tok creation babe do you already done it do it again it's actually so good how was it making that cashew milk it was easy and fun we should make our own cashew milk anytime we run out of plant they look like you literally blend together cashews water and some sweetener and then you strain it through a cheesecloth and oat milk is sort of the same way same well yeah you just do those I got a mess to clean up so you guys
