I JUST BOUGHT A WRECKED PORSCHE 911 GT3 BUT ITS 4000 MILES AWAY

car appears to be totaled sad day have you ever had an opportunity presenting to you so clear in front of your face that I'd be wrong not to take it over the past three years I've rebuilt so many cars but I believe all of this has led up to this opportunity right now which I have to take the new 992 GT3 is one of the best cars Porsche ever made this is what driving is all about because of that it's almost impossible to get one it's an invitation only it's good customers of ours that have a relationship so the chances of someone like me only one are very slim so I can only enjoy them like most of us through watching YouTube videos my car is finally here this thing is a race car it is an absolute race car one YouTuber who is lucky enough to buy one Adam LZ he bought this breathtaking gg3 with a paint to sample color it's really been my dream to own this car forever since haven't got one Adam loved his Porsches he's on the previous gen GT3 RS and now the 2022 GT3 but one day was he was out for a drive his pride and joy was smashed into [Music] film right now let's be totaled sad day the airbags went off this thing's done [Music] right so this is Adam lz's uh gc3 and we think we've came up with a plan but I don't I don't know anything about Copart in the US apparently this has got like a clean title if I bought this it's in Knoxville I don't know how far away that is of your place is there any chance of me being able to take it to your unit and rebuild it at your place this looks like it'll be my only chance to own a GT3 and to get it at a price I could afford but there was one problem it was over 4 000 miles away in Tennessee a completely different country and buying a car from copot there wasn't as straightforward as I first thought so regarding buying a car over here really differs state to state and it seems like you know a handful of the states require you have a license the other handful don't if they told you you need a license you probably do I can look up later on uh you have a couple different angles the way you can go turns out to buy a car in Tennessee I needed to use a broker to bid on the GT3 for me and this is where Freddy AKA Tavaris comes into play I only met him a month ago but I know he has an account with a broker that could bid on the car for me and sure enough he agreed the winning oh what does are you kidding not for me so I've just spent the most I've ever spent on a car which is Crash damage which I've never seen before which is also on the other side of the world the crazy thing about all of this is that I've never even been to America and we've just bought a car out there that we've not even seen only on the internet so I am 100 bobbing my pants buying the car was one step but being able to fix it and find parts is another issue trying to find some parts for it um as much as I can really before I fly over on Friday and I didn't know whether you could help with that whether you have any parts um for that or could help me find parts for that or a trading in right okay no worries thank you buying parts for the GT3 out in the US seemed to be a lot harder than we first thought and all I wanted to order as much as I can before I went over there [Music] yep won in the US with sellers Parts the only other thing as well this tool to get the wheel off if we don't have that then it is game over but Silverstone Porsche in the UK would sell us parts so we had a plan yeah fine so I'll I'll order all the other bits I'll get it dropped out to you as we can as well Wicked and that was to order as much as we could in the UK and take them over in our luggage not no way no oh no no I ordered 2 000 pounds worth of GT3 parts and packed them into my suitcase and I knew that was gonna need a lot more when we was over there one bag two bag three bags full of clothes but mainly parts hopefully we can get this into America I think this is gotta be legal hopefully let's see if we can get it through this was it everything I've learned through rebuilding cars have led up to this moment right now boarding a plane with Porsche parts to go and fix a GT3 I've just bought it [Music] security and before we knew it we was on the flight to Florida here we go now regardless whether the cars in the UK or Florida I still checked it out using car vertical after I put the vid in this is the report I got I can see that there's been no mileage fraud it's not been recorded as stolen but there is an amber light to show that this Porsche has been in an accident quite obviously and the car has never been used as a taxi and this was quite interesting because the car doesn't have a salvage title it's not been registered as being in an accident but there's no fooling car vertical as I scroll through the report I can see every time it's had an ownership change and when the damage was detected and this Porsche has only done 2 500 miles and here I can see the damage report in December 2022 this is it then nine and a that the cars been shipped from Copart to Savannah's unit we're heading to his unit right now we have no idea how bad the damage or anything's gonna be but we're about to find out in the next well in Freddy AKA tavaris's unit which is absolutely mental and we're surrounded by some absolute mental cards it's just it's overwhelming for me one being in America and then two just being surrounded by all of this so you are too nice this is the next level like my unit fits one ramp in it and you've got like how many here what six or something yeah yeah something like that the Clarence up there's a twin turbo Gallardo yeah I've got an Aston Martin DBS Ferrari 430 scooteria Audi R8 V10 Skyline GTR Nismo another Audi R8 you know it's there's there's some toys here yeah but this this is nice this I'm so looking forward to this because I don't even know what to say it's literally so overwhelming all of this but I guess a good place to start is the damage Bumper's definitely gone there's nothing salvageable on that front crash bar seems actually to be okay although it looks like the insurance have drawn something to say that maybe it's broken but I guess we'll find out this cooler looks okay it's just connected headlights broke Wings broke or Fender if you're American this wheel is broke which I think are six thousand dollars per wheel er's got a dent in it every single airbag in here curtain airbags dashboard knee airbags passenger and drivers have deployed seat belts are locked out and the carbon reinforced plastic Bonnet has just got away with it just and Hannah who came all this way for the GT3 thoughts on it swan neck spoiler this is just iconic on the gc3 love it or hate it I feel like some people might hate it some people might love it and then there's one thing that I have noticed is that we are missing the diffuser um at the bottom here and this looks like the stock exhaust and Adam definitely put on an expensive exhaust and yeah we've not got it it sounded really good and now I've not got that so um oh the indicator's missing from there oh no return it goodie bags not good no but I actually noticed that this didn't look that good in the video um we've done a bit of pots smuggling we have yes so we may or may not have one of these in the car look at that hey Tori center caps these are worth it gotta be thousands I was gonna say that number yeah you know to get the wheels off these are Center locking wheels so they require like a special tool but we can look around the car maybe see if it's in there I don't know yeah because I don't know where they're supposed to be on these Porsches or maybe the last one was like here yeah they've seen them there but it's weird that someone would take it out but the wheels are maybe that's why the wheels are on because they no one could steal them off of the car did you see what just happened what happened there all right so come around here and now unlock it look at it I didn't even know that it's like a Tesla so the door handles I mean that's like a cool factor that is cool there's so many things on this car which are just so cool the carbon bucket seats they're going to be like thousands of pounds extra I imagine but it's just cool that I would probably never ever would have bought one of these brand new so being able to buy it crashed and then repair it is just another it well it's part of my dreams I guess so this one is a painter sample car and like we said it was a one of two but it's uh it's a manual car yeah and it has the wings so it's a manual non-touring yeah uh so I dude I think this car if it was in good shape and not crashed I think this would probably be like 325 000 absolutely right and that's used the damage we're probably gonna have to get it in a lift to see but we want something to one thing I want to confirm with myself right now just to make me feel a little bit better is does it start because I remember when Adam crashed it it wouldn't start afterwards but my Cayman S didn't have a pyro fuse on it which you know what let's just try and start it oh I've got it oh it just opened that oh they oh it's not you don't actually put the key in nope okay I'm getting clutch down foreign [Music] [Laughter] [Music] ah I don't know I just spitballing oh that is cool look at that It's All Digital can you see that [Music] the dash is like fully digital which that is that is well cool Contours I love that 2 500 miles I feel so bad for Adam like that is well the clutch has got so much play okay here we go yeah this just I don't know if you can hear that on camera but it's like a it's like a click it's not where does that where does this click sound like it's coming from coming from underneath on the back yeah oh yeah it isn't it it's got to be something related to the airbags because the the engine is right down the back on these and the damage is all the way at the front so there's got to it's got to have something to do with the airbags well that's what it normally it normally is isn't it yeah yeah uh you want me to put it on a scanner and see if the power fuse let's try that yeah let's get Diagnostics all so there's no time for messing around and we're straight to the auto I plugged it into the OBD to find so many faults of course but one of them relating to the Pyro fuse problem is we didn't know where it was so we're thinking it's got to be a pyro fuse or something we normally find them in the engine bay but check this out as well so if I open the engine bay button here all it opens is that and that is all you can see of the engine the oil filler and the coolant filler so we cannot get into the engine bay so the search continues now the Pyro fuse is supposed to cut power to the engine when the airbags blow so usually the fuse is located on the power line of the battery but in this case we couldn't see anything it looks like the live wire from the battery goes straight through the firewall and almost heads underneath the dash already found a photo of where the Pyro fuse is and I can see this oh wow I can see a plastic panel down here which is that one there and it looks as if this views boxes like behind this which is exciting I can see why is where they're going to but yeah this could be a bigger job than we thought getting this car started [Music] okay how the hell do you get to that with the Pyro fuse being unaccessible we had to come up with something else who put that there at Porsche because whoever put that there is not only underneath the center console it is right at the back of the dashboard you have to have a head that big to get to it you it's impossible to get to the Paro fuse so I am desperate to start this car just for my own peace of mind as well the only thing that the job of that pyro fuse is to do is to cut power go into the starter so I think if we can get to the starter motor we can put 12 volts to the starter motor all the fuel and ignition would still work wouldn't it the I think so yeah yeah I would assume that all the fueling would work if you just have the car in the arm position the starter just starts the engine yeah let's try it so all we've got to do now is find out where the starter motor is usually it's mounted to the gearbox but remember the engine and everything is all tucked away at the back of this Porsche okay [Music] I'm gonna tell Freddie to stop looking for the jack stand because I've just had a look at the photo of Porsche's four liter flat six and the starter looks like it's there yeah that's not good I don't know that is right on top of the gearbox and like the other side of the engine there's no way we're getting to that they've not made this easier and this is that oh this is the first episode don't they know that we're doing a YouTube video we're just trying to start it wow okay I'm gonna have to have a think so so we could push start it I I how would that work so we have these on there's a little casters I don't know what the top speed of the casters is um but if we get a rolling start from there to there a second I feel like you could probably get it going well we've done worse things you do know I'm not going to be able to steer when I'm going no we're gonna have to it's fine it's fine it's like a thing of value anywhere here do you think that'll work is this actually gonna work it's worth trying yeah should be all right I guess I can put the brakes on yeah the brakes working but don't they yeah the brakes are gonna work yeah sure it doesn't work it doesn't work yeah yeah well I can imagine happening is you get all the way to the end and then it hits the floor and the casters go up so the plan was to bump start it inside Freddy's unit with absolutely no use of both front wheels we gathered a team of people and we set to Embark either to do something stupid or to do something genius [Music] [Applause] laughs I did not think that was gonna work I thought I was gonna die look at your brain marks on
