I Held A Tournament To Find The Worlds Best Nuzlocker

wait wait wait wait hold up burrito can still win no he's jolly thunder barely misses on the kill oh sh [Music] what's up youtube i'm pokemon challenges i'm probably the best nuzlocker in the world and today my community is having a tournament for five hundred dollars they'll be competing with emerald kaizo late game nuzlocke teams so we constructed a custom pokemon showdown format in which you can build teams that represent the teams that you would have in a late game scenario in an emerald kaiser nazlak pre-elite four and people be constructing teams and competing and seeing who the best emerald kaizo nuzlocker is it's gonna be fantastic and very excited to see the meta develop as the tournament goes on super excited these are constructed teams out of pokemon that you can catch in emerald kaizo and you can only have one pokemon per route and then you construct a team out of that you can use the same held items that you would use in emerald kaizo it's the same move pools that the pokemon have so everything's changed like that you can only use a certain amount of tms like the ones that you would find through super excited to see how this tournament goes uh shout out to all my audio coming through yeah i can hear you what's up uh not much should i introduce myself absolutely go ahead okay uh my name is manip i've been playing competitive formats for a few years i was on the balancing council for emerald kaizo i wanted to give some thoughts on the format absolutely generally the biggest threat in the format is by consensus aerodactyl with the addition of air slash into its move pool it has a real move to hit ground types it's not broken because there is like plenty of uh check for it it's just something that can clean if you don't play around it well other top threats are like metagross 100 accuracy 100 power fifty percent attack rays meteor mash is pretty good yeah for all the people who went for the fossil delay of course yeah yeah yeah of course taliman gets air slashed which it normally doesn't get and that gives it a big boost because it lets it power through some of his especially defensive things it normally wouldn't be able to look it takes i think like one flinch to be snorlax on the switch initially um we were actually considering banning snorlax for like a week but um it's still really good but it turns out that norlax is actually not as ridiculous as we thought it gives like probably the like three biggest threats in the metagame uh not free entry but relatively free entry those three being t tar metagross and aerodactyl yeah and they kinda it's like uh it's not broken keeping broken in check but it's like the the top threats keep other in check so it's like kind of like a delicate dance between the best things in the format got it is there any mods that would normally be available in the ek playthrough that are that got banned i don't think we banned any anything that was normally available in ek we thought we were going to bend like eight things like before it started but like after some play testing and like and uh team building we realized nothing's really that broken yeah i gotta actually dip out for a bit but i'll pop back in later if that's alright awesome yeah cool all right peace every match is the best of three got it we got some matches let's go let's jump right into soul zero versus rado oh i already missed like half the match that's okay we got a paralyzed metagross on seoul's side starmie t tarzone we got slowbro houndoom snorlax on raido's side the ttar intimidate coming in the brick break though don't know about that switch from souls another air slash brings them down [Music] metagross on a hydro pump souls did not forget to teach hydrodue's men's flamethrower is not going to take on metagross as it explodes on four percent and takes out souls of salmons and raiders now up 4v5 pretty good position i'm going to cross this back in but it's paralyzed earthquake is just going to take it out souls is losing pokemon after pokemon here what's his last one it's going to be the aerodactyl on souls's side as well see the arrow versus arrow speed timer rock slide goes first from rado's side but souls arrow is too healthy but it seems like rado's defenses just standing a little bit too tall this defensive slo-ro team here hound doom in the back souls doesn't seem to have the tools to break through it we do see lacks in the back for souls but 16 hp slowbro is gonna do it radio's gonna go up 1-0 go to game two also reminder that this is a double elimination tournament losers go to losers bracket are not out of the tournament is there a rule about only one use of a tm if there's only one tm of that in the game yes oh wow we see the starmie lead into the hound doom immediately with the surf on the houndoom to kill it radio says i tried so hard to predict something good luck and raido starts out the match one pokemon down pretty much everything in this form is plus speed yeah okay that makes sense [Music] surf crit on the metagross put souls up to pokemon soul's apologizing apparently that was a crit hyrule oh the tatar crunch actually takes down slow bro here and i feel like radio is really on the ropes down to three months the souls is six hey i was at a barbecue yesterday at a friend's garden i had some the dragon claw actually takes out souls men's here he wins the speed time i had some amazing lamb chops that i made on the grill it was so good find someone to spend time with me instagram yesterday i mean i was hanging out with friends i was mainly looking for people who were like at fun places but we're just hanging out outside raido's arrow switches to the rock slide here dies immediately snorlax coming in mata gross comes out now oh get some meteor mash crit plus attack boosts [Music] souls explodes and souls ties it up one and one oh radio switching to a dust collapse team i was wondering when this pokemon show up desk ops is very buffed in emerald kaizo interesting shadow ball from rado here maybe expecting a starmie switch men's comes into the earth power oh with the pursuit actually running the pursuit ttar as rado's ttar comes in now god teacher's backspreading gen 3 is so sick hello hey what's up uh not much just got back which game are we watching uh rado versus souls game three okay radio's busting out the dust collapse team souls is running pursuit on his ttar uh he probably just doesn't have a stronger move to hit the metagross i assume so yeah all right radio snorlax just went down a meteor mesh okay okay i was saying that uh radio has to watch out for a potential explosion here because uh yeah yeah because if his slow bro gets boomed he's in a really bad state against aerodactyl oh yeah which swampert is very very common it's incredible in this format rado again not uh focus punching on the ttar switch in here you could he could just be uh toxic no focus punch possibly interesting thing is that uh souls uh settlements used hydro pumps so this could have that or brick break let me see yeah i feel like guitar probably dies to hydroponic it doesn't get the same special defense boost here yeah i think this might be over for rada unless souls misses a pump yeah oh he's got surf an interesting thing that is getting mentioned in the chat here is quick claw that we might see some game turn because of that oh true i am uh did bulk nation sign up for the tournament um i know he runs he runs a lot of quick claws all right so souls moves on all right i think that completes the first round of the bracket let's check in on our boy burrito oh he's got a sceptile too oh sh can we see the first swamp tournament on sammy's team but burrito has by far the most games if dude played 170 games holy flinch yeah that that's uh why he thinks he's switching into t there he gets a free one here though because uh oh no sandy because snorlax is always gonna slack off there so you can go for air slash for free burrito plays it really aggressively so that's something to keep in mind when watching him play yeah you could tell by that hydro pump on the snorlax ooh big mist there actually yeah pretty cool i get swampert into tyranitar hp grass range as well as a couple other things men's coming in have we already seen we've seen pursuit and focus point of pursuit on the sceptile super interesting yeah yeah he's got the hp eyes he's got hpi yeah it's definitely for starving that's actually really smart yeah like metagross and aerodactyl get earth power so usually they don't use up the dm but if you just don't have an earthquake used they're pretty good for it this sceptile is just claiming lives now all right yeah it looks like it looks like the sceptile meta is on its way uh uh sandy could double the swampert here to predict a switch or he just the burrito just stacks the meds that's fair there's not really many gunk shot users though to be honest it looks like sandy's probably out here forward actually lives the hidden power but it's not gonna matter yeah maybe a few slack berry right chad burrito not even revealing his last mon there for a tournament like this is it kind of optimal is it kind of meta to kind of scout what teams your opponents are using adjust your teams i wouldn't over commit because like if someone if you like counter team some like aerodactyl team and then they switch to like houndoom doug trio you can absolutely get farmed yeah i'm gonna look into um percuta oroki right now it looks like both of them are running starmie snorlax as of now metagross is a pretty big threat you think we're going to see a signal beam here possibly it's just meteor mash attack rays here yep there it is it's 20 percent right oh if that was actually yeah i guess that's uh that's the earthquake advantage there yeah so i guess that reveals that orky has earthquake on some other pokemon no uh yeah probably some people just drop it all together blast crit there's the metagross switch on the next earth power oh burrito wins the speedtime booms though gets himself out of that spot just like that they're back to even dragonite threatening here stormy is gonna be the switch extreme speeds though that is 45 okay goes the arrow next very interesting rock sled flinch oh burrito mz boys just in burrito's head white herb proc speed tie dragonite god damn arrow moment typically it's a trade-off between recover hidden power grass and psychic either you run two coverage moves and drop recover or you drop one of psychic and hidden power grass burrito reveals though a slow bro he clicks toxic on the snorlax which has shown thick fat in past matches yeah so slow bro probably walls this look at that recycle lumbery to play around the hacks that's what i'm talking about dude i'm pretty sure burrito just hired zavion to follow mz boy for an entire week and write a document on how he how he makes decisions and uh the slowbro is just stonewalling the starmie right now scale armor is really showing what's good yeah this is makeshift refresh i guess mz boy is just flailing into the slowbro now he seems to have lost all hope of like metagross is usually the first pokemon to die and not the last one wouldn't be sent out you know i feel like honestly like metagross is probably the thing that can overwhelm its counters the best though you know yeah like when have you ever seen something consistently counter metagross for like an entire match yeah yeah can't seem to find the way past this libra here gg my guy you did come through both players played fantastically let's be real the way that mz boy yeah fought his way up here all the way to winners winners finals i'm not dropping a match and then burrito finding his way back after being thrown out by him burrito really is the anime protagonist of this tournament yeah he really is okay last arrow oh it's not over yet boys there's a way with with an arrow there's a way
