I dropped my baits in a 70ft hole and this is what I caught!

what's up everybody kevin from palmetto cats in this episode we're going to test to see if time in a spot will equal up to more hookups over time [Music] all right for bait today we have a veritable cornucopia of baits we have the ever popular chicken we have some bluegill sections and we have some river herring so we've got a couple different options for the fish today who knows what they'll want today seems like uh the spawn is going to be going on forever i'm able to put eight rods out in the boat so these fish don't have a chance if they come through here i'm also trying out a couple new rods we got uncle luz rod right here that bright orange i have a tangling with catfish series uh whisker whip series rod mad cat's rod and in my live streams you've probably seen the hellcat so we're trying out some new rods today and hopefully we'll see some hookups on those [Music] all right everybody we're in spot number two for today we sat at that first spot for about two and a half hours not even a dink tap or anything so we're in the east branch of the cooper river which i've never fished before for catfish and uh i'm in the 70 foot hole it's the deepest hole that i could find on avionics and i've got six or seven baits dropped straight down about three feet off the bottom on a carolina rig let's see what happens i'm just using a six ounce cannonball sinker to a carolina rig this thing goes down forever yo it's pretty deep and on this one i'm gonna put most of a small bluegill on there [Music] all right we got a fish on been a long time waiting but we got one on we sat in the first spot for a couple hours and then we moved to this spot and been here for about 30 minutes 30 to 45 minutes a nice blue cat good one need to go get the net there he goes he's in the net good fish oh we got another one on oh man we couldn't even get that one back in the water for this one hit that uh waiting paid off good hit i got to bring them up slow because we're in 50 or 60 foot of water i just got these suspended about three feet off the bottom hopefully i'll be able to see his air bubbles blow i didn't get to see this other one's there bubbles there's the bubbles all right not only did he blow bubbles but he burped on the way up all right another one in the net all right there's the first one right there almost 20 pounds almost 20 pounds it's a good solid fish there he goes all right fish number two is a lot smaller but still i'm glad to have them good looking guy let's get him back gotta let go going from here whoa whoa there you go there's two back to back catfish within 30 to 45 minutes of sitting here that's awesome ah that's exactly what i uh wanted and uh hopefully we'll get a few more oh right down run down all right we got one on doesn't feel too big but he slammed this medium rod all the way down to the water that's awesome bring him up slow [Music] oh got a little fight to him [Music] all right nice little blue there he is [Music] all right there's number three hello two or three pound blue cat maybe five i don't know i'm gonna put him back in the water here he goes and this uncle lou's rod just got slammed and didn't hook up i wonder if he got my bait off nope still on there he almost got it though hit it pretty hard we got a few more hours we can chill out here and you know the point of the day was to stay on a spot for a long time to see if that produced uh more hookups and it has so far not in the first spot but definitely in this second spot i've got another down rod rigged i'm gonna throw that off this back left-hand corner base seems to be happening right now so i want to take full advantage of it while i can that's three fish take down back of the boat take down let's see what he is anytime going up under the boat he is all the way up on his boat he might actually be hung up in my other line yep he sure is he's hung up in two other lines see the fish i'm about to lose him better see if i can net him real quick all right i got fishing the net all right so thankfully i netted him because he hit the blue cat rod which is on this side which released the hook so he has no hook in him so if i didn't net him i would have lost this fish so thank the lord for that all right there's another one fish number four good looking little fella another three to five pounder they all have these little sores on them i'm not sure where that's from maybe spawning fighting i don't know let's let him go there we go well everybody it's almost like elsa has rejoined us the wind has really picked up and the current is blasting and they're both working together so i can't keep baits down on the bottom besides it's about one o'clock in the afternoon i have to go prepare for the iron cat boat tournament
